However there isn't much room for patio seating on the side of the store plus, it is right at the ordering station for drive through. Actually, While waiting on my husband, I thought someone placing an order was talking to me. That is how close the tables are to drive through ordering Before we left, I opened the bag to check the order and saw no plain bagels. I had ordered 9. I went back in and the rep working the register immediately expressed regret and said they forgot to put the plain in. She immediately packaged up 9 bagels and once again expressed regret. Today I had a pick 2 with 1/2 bowls of Sesame ginger chicken bowl: Grilled chicken, edamame, cucumber cilantro, shredded red cabbage, charred broccoli, herb brown rice rice, candied black pepper almonds, arugala, sesame ginger dressing and 1/2 bowl of autumn squash soup. The soup was really good as always. The sesame chicken bowl was OK, not much flavor, the fireplace was not on, which I was looking for on such a cold day. The servers at the counter were pretty nice. At first was not pleased because the worker did not follow my written instructions of very light ice, but this was remedied and then it took eight minutes to get my bagel and cream cheese, but I was left with a good impression overall from the wait staff and the manager because they had great senses of humor and chatted a little with me before I left. I'm baaaack hahaha the last time I got Panera I had tried their new spicy chicken sandwich and THIS time I tried their new Buffalo chicken melt. Last time I said them trying a chicken burger was not their thing. THIS time I think I melt was RIGHT up their ally. There was a small mix up getting our roof but it's nothing we couldn't fix when we got home. I also got their Wild rice & chicken soup. Many years ago, this was my favorite restaurant in the area. Now, unfortunately, I can only give it two stars. I was there in the evening and they've gone fully electronic, there was no one at the front of the house where the bread and cookies and cash registers were. I managed to order my food and got a combo meal. The Caesar salad looked attractive, but there was a large core of the lettuce in the salad, which typically is not done. While the core is not lethal, it just can't be easily chewed by a human. I got a toasted sandwich Which was way smaller than the picture showed, or I remembered, and whoever prepared it put too much of things that were wet in the bottom piece of toasted bread was totally soggy. I had to flip it over in order to eat it.. I just picked a random booth to sit at, but then I noticed it was fairly gross. It may have been wiped clean, but it did not had a good cleaning in a long time because food was stuck under the wall. The ambience is OK. You still have the individuals sitting at the big table with their computers out talking on their phone doing business. It's really sad to see this iconic restaurant go so far downhill. This location is so Molly amazing thanks to this one staff member who always has a positive attitude every time I have been there! He also provides good recommendations for foods to try...I asked him which sandwich I should get and he recommended the chicken faccocia...and it did not disappoint! I am typically a take the top bun off person, because the bread seems to r the she away from the flavor...not this bread...it worked together perfectly. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the price for what you get ratio...it tends to be on the higher end...so more like an every once in awhile treat for me...or if I'm working remotely...it's a nice place to grab a bite and get your work done place. The most obvious downfall to this location is...location. It's definitely not a place that I would recommend if you're wanting to get off the highway, grab a bite, and get back to your travels promptly. Between being a decent distance from the highway, to just being in an odd spot in a high traffic area. It's a total pain to access. So I order our food in the drive thru. When I got to the window, my card was taken promptly, and then it was quite a wait...as is typical of Panera. One of my granddaughters was asleep, and the other woke, as I'm sitting there waiting, and demanded my attention. So I was distracted when she finally came back with our food, thanked me and told me to have a nice day. I heard, "Have a nice day," and my autopiIot says "we're done. Go." I was more focused on getting pulled over and giving my granddaughter her food, to even notice that she had never given me my tea. I didn't notice until I was about to get back on 465. Annoying and frustrating, to say the least. Also, not a single napkin. So I make my way back, and decide that I really don't want to wake up a 2 year old and carry both she and her 1 year old sister in to get my tea. Besides, I've already started eating and so has the 1 year old. I pulled back in the drive thru and just told myself to enjoy the ability to sit and eat without driving. Let's just say we were all done with our food after waiting 4 cars deep in line. A few hours later, I'm scrolling thru my notifications on my phone, and notice the amount that Panera is attempting to pull from my card is NOT the same amount on my receipt. My receipt says I was charged $17.79, but they are attempting to pull $21.34. Yes, $3.55. But still...what the heck? After wasting nearly an hour on the phone, between the store manager and then the 800 number he passed me along to, I got the strangest "possible" explanation. Supposedly some payment systems will automatically tack on a gratuity fee if one hasn't been included, and supposedly this extra charge is supposed to "fall off" when the payment clears. My exact response was, "Um, but I bought lunch at Panera...sooo..." She didn't seem to appreciate that. She said, "Surely you've seen that before?" Nope. I've never seen that because where it's acceptable to tip, I tip. This is Panera...there's a drive thru and people don't tip INSIDE the "cafe" either. And there isn't even a "tip" option on the receipt. I really don't appreciate a different amount being pulled from my card than what I agreed to, no matter what the amount. read more

8:45 pm Thursday, September 13 experience This was a painful Panera visit. Typically, Panera is one of our go-to options when it comes to drive-thru with some healthy flair. This particular team seemed very heavily concerned with closing up for the night and not providing a strong experience for their last few customers of the day. We waiting in the drive thru line for 15 minutes after we ordered the food. Upon pulling up to the window to receive our food there were a few more disappointing pieces to the puzzle: the music was jamming inside the kitchen and there was a sloppy vibe to our window staff - I'm opting not to include her name but her hair was quite sloppy for being in the food industry and she kept touching her hair which seemed to be the cherry on top for the sloppy scene we were seeing from the window. I have been a devoted customer of Panera since they opened, however their quality and consistency has declined considerably. A few weeks ago I ate at the 96th Street location in Indianapolis and had the best Chicken Frontega sandwich I'd ever had. In fact it was so good, after I finished I went up to the counter and thanked the man who'd made it. I went to the same location this past weekend and it was a total disaster. I bought two meals. I requested lettuce and mayo on my daughter's sandwich and I have a lot of allergies so I'd asked to have several ingredients left off my sandwich. I also paid $3 extra to have them put bacon on. I always check to make sure everything's in the bag before leaving and it was so I went on to my daughter's office. That's when I discovered the mayo was missing on her sandwich, and the lettuce was all these little pieces rather than leaves - it looked like it had been chewed up by a rabbit and fell off as soon as she picked the sandwich up. Not only were the ingredients I was allergic to and specified NOT be included on my sandwich on there, the bacon I'd paid $3 extra for WASN'T. Also, there's a sauce they use on the Chicken Frontega sandwich rather than mayo. It looked like someone had just poured it on the sandwich and then slapped it together. The sauce was all over the place and there was so much it had made the bread soggy! I wasn't about to drive all the way back to the location so I just threw the sandwich in the trash and called the location to register a complaint - they weren't busy when I left, but someone picked up the phone and then hung it up. Needless to say, that's why I've given them a one-star rating. I would give them a zero-star if it was possible..... I love Panera's food (usually!) and this experience won't keep me from going to other locations, but it will be a long time before I go back to the 96th Street location. read more

Normally I love Panera and most of the time the service is stellar but today as I went to get my usual Mac n Cheese order, I was not greeted like usual. Maybe the girl at the drive thru was having a bad day, but her lack of friendliness was quick to catch my attention. Thinking maybe I just was over thinking, I pulled up to the window to get my order and she was very short and snippy. She handed me my drink and I said thank you and waited for her to bring the food. When she brought my food, I again said thank you but was met with no smile or friendly reply...just the window shutting. I barely even got the words "thank you" out ...
