This is a customer service review only. Had an excellent experience yesterday. I was very pleased by Corey's customer service at the register. He did the usual "upsale" that Panera always does, but in such a manner it wasn't immediately irritating. I dislike Panera for that actually. Sometimes it's like buying a car. He was gracious and worked with our weird requests of "everything on the side" and didn't bat an eye or make us feel awkward for not wanting wet sandwiches 4 hours later from when we ordered. He created combos where he could and provided great customer service. We left satisfied with our ready to eat breakfast and our later lunches and snacks for after a day at Club MMX and then over to Snowbomb at Cal Expo. Our interaction with the food prep person was super limited, but I did look to see if all of our weird accommodations were made (we were ordering 3 meals for 2 people for the full day and didn't want soggy items) and Christina (or Christine) did an excellent job. Everything was packaged safely for us to eat immediately, to place in the cooler or just wait till it was time to eat. I appreciate being able to enjoy an entire day of food while only needing to make the one stop on a very busy day. **Though...as a side note, not excited with the "new recipe" turkey sandwich. I'll remember next time to change it to a different bread. Also...just randomly....why is everything like 2 weird size sandwiches now? It's hard to judge how much to order. We're there too many Worker's Comp issues with the knives used to cut sandwiches? I much preferred the original shaped sandwiches and the lower price they used to be. read more

Great place to grab brunch or lunch! It's relaxing, with cozy seating areas inside and out as well as wifi! I have come here several times to get work done which is nice because it is relatively quiet but terrible because I refill my coffee as if my life depends on it. Hehehe Service is pretty great, everyone is friendly and polite so can't complain. Items to get here are their meal deals, pick two! I usually get a sandwich and a side salad and it is quite filling for a decent price. My go to is also the bagels and the variety of desserts! My favorite are the chocolate chip cookie that are always amazing, the muffies which are muffin tops, the strudel, scones and the list goes on. Now the only reason I've done a 4 out of 5 is that they messed up on my order. I am quite specific of not wanting certain things because I'm allergic. They also change up the menu and even if you think you are ordering what you want, you may not be. Guy was a tad rude and was like we don't have it. No, it's not the same and no we don't have anything like it. Uhm, thanks.... Also ALWAYS check your bag for the entire order. I've had several things forgotten on multiple occasions because the pick 2 comes with the two but also a fruit or bread as a side. When you order multiple, they have a tendency to forget to put in the sides for every single person. Overall, I enjoy the place and it's delicious! read more

While attending school at Sac State, I would always pass by the Panera Bread that was located off of Howe Ave. I would think to myself, "I really want to try that place out," but I would continue to my destination. Years later, I finally got the chance to try the place out. First thing after walking in, I noticed their goodies behind the glass window. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to snack on any of their sweets. I order a half & half; bacon turkey bravo signature sandwich and the cream of chicken & wild rice soup. I wasn't too fond of the sandwich, I wish I ordered something else. However, the soup was delicious on its own. Their lemonade was overpriced and was bland. They really should distinguish where the line begins. For the life of me, I do not understand, 'til this day, why people insist on standing elsewhere (NO WHERE NEAR THE LINE) and expect to be served next. But I digress. Service was OK. It wasn't outstanding. I won't write them off just yet. In fact, I'll give Panera another shot. read more

Nice, spacious, well lit spot for enjoying a great meal during any time of day. The bagels and sandwich combos are full of win, you cannot go wrong with a hot signature panini. Cinnamon crunch bagel!!!! Tomato soup is great, but the french onion soup is way too salty. Food is great, unlimited refills, free wi-fi, nice music, outlets along the walls, AND A COZY FIREPLACE = good for studying, too!!! really warm and friendly staff, makes you feel right at home. tables could be bused a little faster, and there are lots of crumbs/trash on the floor. read more

I really love sitting at Fairfied Panera and enjoying lunch on my lunch break. I decided to pick up my favorite sandwich & salad for dinner. They were quick to prepare my food to go. I was surprised that my French bread was just thrown in the bag. It wasn't wrapped in any anything & I expected the utensils to be wrapped in a napkin. A friend and I ordered here tonight and they completely messed up our orders. My friends sandwich did not have all the usual topping that it comes with. I ordered a green goddess with chicken and the salad was not only very small it was missing the chicken, avocado, eggs and bacon bits. I think they gave me the wrong salad. So mad. Love their food but their service is terrible. I placed a rapid order online. After leaving I realized that half my order was missing. I drove back with my food and receipt like they asked. The woman smiled said "oops, they forgot to put it in the bag" and handed me my sandwich which had been sitting on the counter for almost an hour. Went to check this place out to see what the fuss was about. I ordered the Chicken and Artichoke panini while my kids ordered a steak and cheese panini. Big portions but the flavor didn't really blow me away. It was nothing to rave about. It was okay, to say the least. I think the best thing I had during my visit was the Iced Green Tea. read more

This location is so bad! Last time I went there they gave me the wrong sandwich and not only that but there was a whole chunk of chicken skin in the sandwich it made me gag. Today I doordashed my regular order, and they gave me the right sandwich, but the avocado they used was all bad! It was brown and black , they don't even use fresh avocados. Staff is very friendly and restaurant stays looking clean. Definitely try to Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Food always comes out in a timely manner. I like how they have the convenience of ordering online and picking up without having to wait in line. This place is also great for lunch meetings and studying. read more

I usually enjoy my visits at Panera bread but last visit seem to be just a fast food place with just getting the job done type of attitude.Seems like the store was short staff due to the line so i ordered at the kiosk. Usually when I go to the store the food gets brought to the table but my buzzer buzzed before I could even sit. I asked the manager on duty who was expoing (putting orders together and telling kitchen what was needed to complete the orders) do i wait for my food to be ordered or do I just pick it up here.. she goes "oh you have to wait for it to buzz" I replied "it did, it buzzed already"... she goes oh ok and they continues to working... so i just decided to go get a seat instead of waiting there, staring for a response double fisted with a drink n buzzers in my hands.I pick a seat with my friends and went back to the lady and asked "where the butter was and is my food ready to pick up". She points to the bucket on counter and then ask for my buzzer .... after eating my food which was good but the Mac n cheese was more of a soup seemed like..( a lot of sauce with not a lot of noodles) i asked for a Togo container for my bread bowl and the same manager says Oh we usually use these bags we don't have a container that big... i say no worries but the manager skipped the first bag due to it being defective and gives me another defected bag but says sorry we been having issues with our bags but this one is "better" which seems we're still not all intacted for my bread bowl to get stale n crusty... not a pleasant experience and especially coming from the manager... but hey I guess everyone is entitled to their bad days read more

PROS: Hours: This is a good place to study and is open way before Barnes! Service: I've always gotten service with a smile whenever I come in the morning to study! Food: Never had something I didn't like! Their bagels are top notch and they offer a good variety (and I always get it sliced and toasted with cream cheese! Yum!) Salads are nice and refreshing and come in good portions! Broccoli cheddar soup is always one of my favorites! Although the paninis are good, you can't really customize them. Coffee: Usually fresh! If you are staying to study, you can ask for a mug and you can get as many refills you like!!! =) CONS: Atmosphere: Nice and quiet in the morning, but once that lunch rush hits, it gets super loud and crowded! Sometimes people don't clear their own tables or the staff neglects to clear and wipe down the tables and at this point you have two choices - clear the table yourself or try to flag someone down to clear the table for you. I've come in many mornings around 8am and have had to wipe down my own table. I mean how busy is it at 8am that the tables can't be cleaned?? But, I digress. I came here because I received gift cards for Christmas for Panera and I'm very happy I did. This place is amazing. The food is so tasty, it's become my newest addiction. The frontega chicken pannini pairs well with the broccoli cheddar in my opinion (for the pick 2). The service delivers your food freshly made and with delightful attitudes. Good spot for a light breakfast or soup/sandwich for lunch. Bread is freshly baked and food always tastes fresh, which is very good for a fast casual type of restaurant. It does feel like something is missing every time I eat here, can't quite put my finger on it but meals leave me wanting a little bit more flavor. I love this place! Food, service and staff are all very nice. My fetish the steak panini w/white cheddar and horseradish sauce and their classic salad. I usually get it to go on the way to class, but today decided to eat in. A little tip if you eat in be specific when you want a sandwich and a salad so you don't get rung in separately and end up with what looks like two orders, lol! It's all good. Also, you might want to order your salad dressing on the side. I'm used to the little to go cup, my salad was swimming in dressing making it in eatable to me. (Late post) I went to Panera about 3 weeks ago. I was planning to get a soufflé. As I was waiting to order, I saw the cook or kitchen staff wiping his forehead with his hand, albeit he had gloves on, come out and touched every single soufflé displayed to move it to one side. I had ordered for curbside pickup and they forgot a soup I had ordered. While I was asked and "helped out" by 4 employees, I was ultimately waiting 20 minutes just standing and rightfully upset. I had ordered curbside pickup bc I was in a rush. The manager on this shift was incredibly kind and even offered me pastries and got me my stuff right away. Panera has gone way down in there food no I do not like that I have to get my own food. NO Customer service what so ever. Its like going to a fast food drive in resturant.. I went there with a girlfriend a couple of days ago and ordered a salad. It was the worst either of us has ever had. The lettuce was brown and look like it was days old. The dressing had no flavor and we had to (ask), I should say get up and go to the cooks for more dressing as it was extremely dry. They gave us bread and butter but did not give us a knife. Good place to grab breakfast or lunch without having to go wander inside the mall. They have hearty egg & cheese bagel sandwiches (only $6.99 for a bakers dozen of bagels on Tuesdays!) and other delicious options like fruit parfaits, steel cut oatmeal, and baked egg souffles. There's also giant cookies to satisfy your sweet tooth. I usually get the combo lunch where you can choose 2 items, either a cup of soup, 1/2 cafe sandwich, or 1/2 salad. The french onion soup or tomato bisque with the country turkey or mediterranean veggie are my favorites. The staff here are also very friendly and welcome you as soon as you walk through the door which is always a good sign! read more

The place has gone downhill over the years. The food is still good, but the prices are pretty high. Vegan options aren't so many and every time they get something on the menu, it doesn't last long. It's too bad because it's usually very yummy. The reason for my review today is to put a particular employee on blast. Dear Assistant Trainer Desire: don't argue with me about a soba broth bowl that you no longer have been vegan or vegetarian, especially since you NO LONGER SERVE IT. The point is moot, so why the heck are you going to argue with a customer over something that doesn't even matter anymore? Anyway. I hadn't been here in awhile and last time I was in, I had the soba noodle broth bowl and after having read the ingredients from Panera's website, I found the edamame version was 100% vegan! Woohoo! So when I asked for that today I was not only told they no longer have that, but (in a quite authoritative tone) "it was actually *vegetarian* NOT vegan." It was vegan. FYI, not that it matters because I can't even order it anymore! Anyway. Don't start an argument with a customer. Since you know so freaking much about what's vegan and what's vegetarian and what the difference is, Desire, why don't you suggest something from your menu that IS vegan? The last three times that I ordered online have been subpar. Two of the orders they couldn't fill correctly because of lack of items. I accommodate what they have and it's fine. The last time (yesterday) I show up and I'm waiting there and nobody says anything to me indicating that my order is waiting. I'm sitting there and they don't say anything and I see an order on their counter. I ask if it's mine and it is. Great. I get home and the order doesn't quite match what I put in the online order. It's a bit annoying to have issues every single time. The convenience of ordering online is somewhat counteracted by the lack of good service. read more

Our attempt to order carry-out here was totally disastrous. We placed an order over the phone about 15 minutes before we arrived. When we got to the cafe we were told the order was almost ready but in fact no one had started working on it. We waited for 15 more minutes only to find out everyone had forgotten about our order and still no one had started working on it. I think this is a management issue--people had no idea what was going on. When we had to leave without our food they didn't even apologize and still charged us for our coffee. read more

We just stopped by on our way at of town at 6am. Our order wasn't correct so we had to run back in and get the missing bagel. My daughter ordered mayo on her sandwich, but it was dry, so we ran in...again. As we are down the highway, she pulls her apples out that came with her order and they're brown and slimy. Our sandwiches tasted good, but when you're in a hurry and the order isn't right, and you have to run back in twice, I'm not sure the wasted time is worth it. read more
