Drive the extra 6 minutes to the Panera in Florham Park; trust me, even with the extra 12-15 min travel time, you'll get your food and be done faster than this one. I've been fooled by the drive thru before too! I was there for over forty minutes waiting for my food and the manager told me I "need to learn to be patient". I clearly saw on their expo screen that my ticket was already bumped and had I not walked up to the line I would never have gotten anything. I couldn't believe the hostility expressed by the manager, I've gotten attitude from people in the weeds before, I understand the stress, but her frustration isn't an excuse for a bitter attitude towards a guest. I watched the people who ordered after me get their food, send one entree back and then get their replacement! They were finished eating and left before I got anything at all. When my "order" finally came, it wasn't what I ordered. It also didn't come with a side, my soup wasn't in a bread bowl AND they also didn't give me any silverware. I was so annoyed that I walked it back up to the counter and the line cooks/preps were the only saving grace to that visit. On my way out, I was walking to my car and dropped my keys in my hurry and saw the manager smoking a cigarette by the dumpster while talking on her phone. Not that I would expect her to help me, but at the same time, if I were in her position I would either offer help, or not stare at a struggling customer, at LEAST look away and pretend she didn't see me attempting to not drop anything else while picking my keys up. I agree with the other reviewer that the employees should have a private area to be on break. In the end, a crew member rushed over to help me. At least the part-time employees, manage to stay positive and helpful even with such bad examples set by management. Service was really great here on a cold New Year's Eve morning (7 am). I ordered two bagels, toasted and one pecan roll, but instead got a pecan braid. The friendly manager, who greeted me warmly and was very polite and clear, said someone would help make the adjustment and even allowed me to keep the braid. On top of that, the individual who helped me neatly packaged the pecan roll in a box, packed some napkins, a knife, and a fork. How's that for customer service? read more

i dont agree with the low ratings. i came on a monday evening for dinner and to meet with a guest. i ordered my normal 1/2 fuji apple chicken salad for here because usually the PROTIP is to get it for here, and they'll give you more portions. however, this time the salad was pretty slim when it came out. service was exceptional. there was a nice man who kept walking around cleaning up and helping customers out. he asked me twice if i was finished but i was being a fatty and slowly chewing on the bread i like that they have self order ipads for you to skip the line and customize your order without being a pain to your order person. very very spacious! and it was relatively quiet during my monday night meal there. would highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

I want to like Panera, really I do. But when you spend $13 on food (even with a buy 1 get 1 coupon) and all you get is a sandwich the palm of your hands and barely any soup - you know it doesn't fare well with customers. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it had a few customers. We waited nearly half an hour after ordering for our food, which is unacceptable. When it came out, it was barely enough to feed two and a toddler. Given I had a coupon, the actual price would have been nearly $25-30!! Very unimpressed with Panera Bread franchise itself. The only reason this place gets two stars is the phenomenonal service of the cashier. He was super friendly and attentive when I let him know of allergies in my party. read more

I like the food and desserts. The issue is when you get it to go, they rarely get it right. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich and it had more lettuce than tuna (not enough to even cover the bread) and they forgot the chips. This is a bad Panera. First, they have a drive-thru, but it's not open, so that stinks. So, I walked in and waited wait 5-10 minutes for the employees to stop their conversation in the back and notice me. I think the person who took my order was the manager. He came over, smiling, but then I realized that was just the remnants of his fun conversation with his co-workers. He actually was not friendly to me at all and was rush rush rush. After taking my order, he called back, "Whole goddess!" like I was at Burger King and had ordered a Whopper with fries. I had the plum ginger tea -- it looked brown; ordinarily it has more of a pinkish/purplish color?? The sprouted grain roll that I had with my salad was the worst ever -- very chewy, almost doughy. I'm guessing it was just stale. It didn't look right; it was very flat. And to top it off, my green goddess salad had brown lettuce! Uh, no. Starting to wonder if Panera is going downhill. Since this location has opened, they have struggled with matching the expectations set by every other location in the chain. Frequently forget items in take out orders (even though one of the employees has signed off on the receipt). In general I expect a problem with my order at this location and they typically deliver. This branch opened close to my work so I was pretty excited. Even more so when I saw there was a drive-threw. I've gone in 3 times now and all 3 times, my order was incorrect. I'm a vegetarian, so when they put meat of my salads/sandwiches, it's literally money thrown away. The first time this happened, I called and complained and got a free sandwich. Then it happened again and this time I wrote to their corporate office. They gave me a gift card for a free lunch. However; even in my free lunch, the order was incorrect. I love the food but every time I order food (via drive thru) they get something wrong. The first time they forgot my bread. The second time they charged me for someone else's order. The next time they didn't give me the complete meal I ordered. Every time it is something new!!! I've learned to check and some things are still unavoidable to realize until it's too late. One time is understandable but when every time my order is wrong it gets a little frustrating- and they always say: come back and we'll fix it! This place has very good food and service. For example, I often get the bread bowl with chicken noodle soup, and I think it's very high quality soup and bread. I would rather drive the to FlorhamPark location which is An extra 15 mins from my house. Loved this place for having a drivethrough but they are so slow so i order online and pick up anyways. They skimp on food and dont pay attention to the details of the order. Will never come here again. Atleast 5 dollars of my order was not in my pickup bag when i got home. I never have had to check my order before leaving any other panera. The service and quality is just terrible. Panera in general is amazing and i love the food which is why i am shocked everytime i come to this location that it is terrible. Even the food which is the same recipe never tastes the same. The salad is never fresh. Crutons taste old and overly crispy to hide the stale taste. I pay $1.59 for avocado and they put one small square hidden in the lettuce. The turkey always looks raw and pink. I pay extra for extra meat and dressing and never get it. This panera is just a scam. To pay $25 bucks for a salad and sandwich it better be right. Panera food is not necessarily bad, as I am truly in love with the broccoli cheddar soup in the bread bowl. I don't know of any other place that has it so well made, or even served in a bread bowl. However, recently I had been this Panera 3 times. Every single one of those times they screwed up some part of my order. It was exhausting and truly disappointing. It seems as though all they can prepare is a simple soup, anything more is too "complicated" for them and they just screw it up! I've ordered a sandwich the first time where the gave me pulled pork instead of chicken!!!! The second time, they screwed up a salad!!!! And tried to give me another free one to make up for their incompetence! (And not to mention that their salads with chicken are just microwaveable chicken from the grocery store! Which I do not like!) and the third time I went was today, when they screwed up yet another sandwich. They put cheese on only one half of my sandwich and were supposed to put dressing on it, but when I opened it, it was completely dry! No dressing! I was so specific because even after I ordered it, one of the cooks came out to me and asked me exactly what I want on it! But of course they don't listen. It also seems as though everybody there is always new, so people must be quitting constantly; probably because it's such a shitty place!! You should not go here unless you are going for the soup; anything else is out their reach and most likely will not be made to your satisfaction- not to mention it the food is rather pricey.
