Been a minute since i came home to Nonnas but i was craving pizza today and popped in for a slice. I grabbed two of the margarita that was fresh on the oven and boy did I make the right choice Medium thickness on the dough (wasn't so thin) and the sauce to cheese ratio was good for a marg more about margherita slice. The sauce was so sweet and delicious. I could've eat a whole pie to be honest. I've had my share of Nonnas since they opened and my family still gets it all the time but it was nice to come back and try this. Great pie read more

We were in town visiting for a wedding and decided to try something local and not chain. This what's the first place to pop up and we decided that this was the one for us. It's in a strip mall and while it could be easy to miss it also stood out to be a very busy place. (Great sign..) We walked in to lots of talks, laughs and the smell of HEAVEN.. A younger gentleman seating people was so friendly and super funny. He jokingly said we should have dessert before dinner, it's tastes better. It was light hearted fun and it set a nice tone. Christina came over to introduce herself, get us drinks and get us started. She could obviously read my face well because the menu was a bit overwhelming... in a good way though because I wanted to eat EVERYTHING!! She came over and told me she was going to choose for me and I liked that. She did not disappoint! Everything we had, including dessert, was phenomenal! Look- I love traditional pizza with the sauce on bottom and cheese on-top - as a true staple. However, after seeing and hearing the hype of the margarita pizza here, I gave it a shot. Oh my....This may be the only place where I will choose the marg over my go-to. Why? That crust is crisp, right amount of crunch-to-sauce/cheese ratio (and the sauce is NJ gravy)! Also the little things matter- they don't put the basil on during cooking but rather on top after the pie is cooked. You have the option of easily removing it or actually tasting the flavor! Having tried this for the first time last week, I went right back two days later with my wife. I noticed that no matter how packed the crowd is ordering slices, they notice you and greet you ready to take your order as you walk in. May not seem like much but have you ever had to fight the crowd and chaos just for a shop to know you are waiting to order? Not here you won't! Only gripe- and its a stretch- is that there are only 3 small booths that seat 2. On the other side of a small wall are lots of seating spaces. Can't say enough about these guys. My family of five had landed in Newark at 9pm with nothing but pretzels on a five hour flight. Everything was closed. These guys were closing up for the night and had boxed their unsold slices to take home to their families. They saw how hungry we were, fired up the oven, reheated their slices and gifted them to us, with two salads to boot. First east coast pizza for my girls was one they'll never forget. Consider myself a Nonna's regular, having gone about twice a month for the last 6 or so years. And have ordered catering several times. I'm clearly a fan of the food but not the experience. At least as of late. It's a family run shop with the youngest son now serving as host these days. Unfriendly. Abrupt. Dressed in an undershirt. Severs are efficient but not very welcoming. I've had the one server easily 40 times and every time he sees me it's like I'm a stranger. Bus girl is rude. But the food is very good. Grandma pizza is super tasty and I always enjoy the clams and chicken giambotta. Pastas are good as well. Atmosphere is comfortable and casual. Typical NJ pizza place. If you can put the experience aside, it's surely worth a visit. But most of us like to think of our "nonnas" as warm and welcoming. Not so much here! read more

Local mom and pop Italian restaurant worth checking out! Came here for pizza and it didn't disappoint at all. We spoke with the host who was super friendly and checking on everyone. She recommended the drunken grandma pizza and we also got the chicken parm one as well. It is made fresh to order so it will require a little bit of patience but overall the experience was great from the atmosphere inside which has a walk up counter that displays their pizzas and has plenty of seating. Parking isn't hard to find in the lot but I can see it getting busy during peak hours. read more

This place has gone downhill. The food used to be amazing, but now it's just ok. Plus the staff were extremely rude this time we were there. There are too many good pizza places in the area to eat somewhere with rude staff. They were advertising a coupon online through a credit card, but when I pulled up the app for them to scan, they refused it. Saying that prices everywhere went up so they won't honor the coupon (even though we met all the requirements listed on the advertisement). We suggested that they at least take down the ad, but they said they didn't have to. Another staff member overheard, came over, and started berating us that they don't have to honor any advertisements and will choose what to honor and what not to. First time here won't be the last. Great food outstanding service all around. Very very busy Friday night. We were seated right away, ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees. We were amazed at so many takeout orders being rapidly filled, pizzas non stop, people just kept coming in to eat. Totally organized, our food came out at appropriate times, dishes cleared quickly, etc. We had farfalle w/ sausage, broccolli rabe, linguini white clam sauce, generous portions no complaints. Very rude customer service. It's a shame because I actually liked the food, but my experience calling to place a catering order completely changed my mind. I was a little confused while trying to explain what I needed and instead of helping, the person on the phone told me very rudely "I wasn't making sense." I was simply asking for some guidance since I was unsure about the order. The interaction was very unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome. We ordered a hot eggplant sub and buffalo wrap. The eggplant was served on a dried out roll, it was cold and put under the melter to melt the cheese. A small blob of sauce. Horrible. The Buffalo chicken wrap had about a teaspoon of sauce, no blue cheese and they used Italian breaded chicken. Awful. The server acted like she was doing us a favor the entire experience. I am in town on a work trip and heard great things about this restaurant. I ordered online and it was very user friendly. I ordered the Arrabbiata with sausage and got the Meatballs appetizer with the dollop of ricotta. Hands down THE BEST meatballs I've ever had. They also gave me a complimentary salad and baguette. We had them cater an office party, and do the set-up with the food. Penne vodka was way overcooked - to the point of being mushy, although the vodka sauce was really good. Chicken francaise was a bit strange - cut up chunks swimming in a pool of liquid. Eggplant Parm itself was good, but the layer of cheese on top was very, very thick and rubbery, and most people just left it. They supplied bread, but didn't even supply a bowl or platter to put it on - just left it in a paper bag. It's unlikely we'd order food from them again. read more

Ordered take out a few days ago. Got an eggplant parm sandwich & spaghetti with clams. Portions were large enough for 2 to share. The eggplant was thin and lightly breaded. Bread was tasty & fresh. My only disappointment was that the cheese was barely melted- it should have been ooey- gooey. The spaghetti fish looked fine. & I didn't hear any complaints. I use to love Nonnas, been going there and ordering from there for years. My favorite is their linguini and white clam sauce. It's loaded with real clams,shells and all, but the last few times I had it, it wasn't that good. The sauce is more of a butter sauce than clam broth. Tonight I ordered the garlic bread and I don't even think they put it in the oven. It was just a few pieces of bread with some garlic butter on it. Delicious! Was a great price for the portion. The panini came with a salad also! Service has also been speedy even in rush hour. Always in and out within 1 hour. Can get alittle noisy though but nothing too crazy! A great and cute pizzeria kinda vibe. Older renovation but has a lot of seating in the back area. read more

Was in the area and needed a meal. Stopped in and place is much bigger inside than it looks outside. Some outside tables, inside is very large and goes far back. It was packed when I was there. As you walk in there's a large selection of pizzas and zeppoles and pizza rolls and things. I got the mozzarella sticks which were generic. The chicken parm dinner was good. Too huge pieces of chicken, flavorful, and loaded with cheese. The sauce is good, not too sweet, not to bland. Good flavor, a lot of garlic pieces but not overpowering. Unpopular opinion but the food is subpar. Fries were pale beige and undercooked, chicken nuggets looked like they came from the frozen food section, and the worst offender was the turkey wrap: bacon was undercooked, turkey looked like it came from an industrial turkey breast loaf, ugh!!! Nonna's is in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. My boss and I had the fried calamari to start and I had the Pappardelle di mare for entree. The fried calamari was good. It was only calamari rings and no tentacles. The pappardelle di mare had crab meat, lobster, spinach, and tomato. The dish was flavored well and the pappardelle was not overcooked. I stopped in at Nonna's for lunch today for the first time in a few years. Not much has changed...they still serve top notch pizza! Nonna's is located in a very busy shopping center in Florham Park. Luckily, parking was not an issue today. There are lots of great pies to choose from. I went for a slice of white. The pizza was delicious. Crust was perfect and the ricotta was so fresh. I really enjoyed it! The only critique I've always had here is that they should have more seating if you're just grabbing a slice. There's a large dining room, but only a few tables for 2 at the front. Aside from that, this is an excellent stop for great pizza! read more

They've definitely improved since my first review so many years ago. They do a lot of catering for the office and have a specific menu just for that - very easy to deal with though I would swap out their generic salad and some of the antipasto for other options. Staff is super friendly and able to hook you up. Parking lot gets very busy. And they charge a 2.95% credit card fee now (since April 2022). They have wonderful penne vodka and garlic knots; some of the best grandma's pie and pizza in the area, and I really like their chicken marsala (mushrooms/chicken in a wine sauce). They have a good white wine clam linguine, too, though better in-person vs delivery. Not so much a fan of the eggplant rollatini, but maybe that's just my personal taste. Decided to dine-in this time around rather than takeout and were sat immediately on a Sunday afternoon. Service: Our waitress was a very sweet lady. Very attentive and came over to check on us every so often. Maybe it helped it wasn't as busy considering it was either Sunday or the day after Christmas. Food: Never fails. Ordered the meatballs and chicken wings as appetizers. They only had boneless available due to the increased prices for the regular wings. Both were flavorful and filling. Very convenient lunch spot in Florham Park. The margarita slices are very good. Thin, crisp crust yet still satisfies like a full size traditional slice with a taste of what I'll assume are San Marzano tomatoes with coins of fresh mozzarella and a bunch of fresh basil. Pizza was burnt. Meatballs were over cooked with too much breadcrumbs. Marinara sauce was too sweet and not great. Service at takeout counter was unfriendly and rude especially the boss. And they charge an extra 4% fee if you use the credit/debit card. We wont go there again. We now go to Florham Park Pizza across the street. They have better pizza and are very friendly. read more

After taking left overs home, I discovered that the taste of the sausage and crust had alot more flavor than fresh out of the Nonna's oven but still the sausage was sliced too thick and it was still chewy. I would definately recommend their pizza but for next day consumption. read more
