Buffalo Chicken Slice
David W.

Tabor Pizza has been a staple for decades in the area and continues to not disappoint. We recently stopped in for a few slices while we were in town and very little has changed over the years. We had cheese, buffalo chicken, pepperoni, and sicilian slices. All tasted great and represented classic NJ pizza. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of dining space and the service was friendly and prompt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As a plus, we received a free order of garlic knots that are a must try. Tabor is a must on the Morris County pizza tour and looking forward to returning soon!

I have heard that Tabor is one of the best places for pizza since forever, and I had to try it. We got it delivered and it was the best I guess. Does the pictures show how much we liked them? We did! Really! The vegetable, non vegetable, pepperoni, chicken, cheese. A must try for pizza for sure!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super friendly staff, plenty of parking and a large dining area inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also sell by the slice and were in the process of making what seemed to be a few hundred garlic knots! I was asked if I was okay with the slightly longer wait for the bar pie but hey thats why I was here! The thin and crispy was solid. Not sure it hits a 7.9 for me maybe a 7.4- crisp crust, def zero flop, and ample sauce but just a smidge less cheese than I like. Note- they make their own sauce as well. Not at all discouraged, I took one look at the bar pie and knew this was my calling. Also crispy, tons of cheese and that caramelized cheese halo- yep - easily a 8.5 in my book! I was told they can do whatever you want with the bar pie- toppings under cheese, sauce on top, etc. Def coming back for more of those!

I was too harsh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The exceptional vibe in Tabor Pizzeria makes it the best pizzeria on 53 in the Morris Plains / Denville / Mount Tabor area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's always at least half full in here on a weekday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizzaioli are happy to be working there, and the takeout patrons constantly flow in and out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The far side dining room is populated with families having a good night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The garlic knots are unreal. Crispy yet doughy, flavor-packed, and sized for a satisfying bite. A friend of mine told me that she finally understood garlic knots when she had them here. Stop by. It's great.

As a pizza connoisseur I'm always looking for the best with high standards. The thin crust bar pie was really good, however a little less crispy but burnt on the ends (not deal breakers but worth noting). The wings were solid as well. It was pretty busy for a Friday night but was seated quickly and the service was great overall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Had TVs on with pickleball which was a bit random lol.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Worth trying out in the area.

Parking lot in front. Plenty of parking in this complex. My family and I come here once a week now since we are in the area and my daughters love the pizza here. It's a nice treat for them during the week, they know it's pizza day when we pull in. I recently tried the penne vodka and it really hit the spot. The sauce was perfect-- not too saucy. The staff is so friendly, we appreciate that they remember us when we come in. A must try if you're in the area.

The Crispy Bar Pie (with onion topping) -- perfect thinness!

I feel like it's the right thing to do by starting this review with a disclaimer -- I grew up in Parsippany, so Tabor is my childhood pizzeria. I grew up on this. So there's a possibility that this review is slightly biased due to nostalgia. HOWEVER, I would also like to add that my husband is a pizza connoisseur, and he is totally in love with Tabor. All of that being said, take this however you will. I love the staff here because they have always acted like you were a regular. Ownership and staff has changed over the years, but this has always remained true. You just feel familiar here which, to me, is characteristic of a quality pizzeria. The pizza is just high-quality classic pizzeria pizza. It's a Friday night staple. The piece de resistance that they recently added (May 2024) to their menu is the Crispy Bar Pie (different from their thin crust, so make sure you know what you're asking for)! Incredible pie. To me, it's up there just behind Star Tavern. Lastly, they make the best grilled chicken Caesar salad that I have EVER had. They give you a massive amount of chicken that's seasoned perfectly, and their dressing is fire. So, you can come for the pizza, but they're more than that for sure.

Bland under-cooked "crisp" pizza

Place completely sucks!! Tasteless, soggy, horribly prepared by twits uncaring about the product. Papa Johns is better. Stay with Jimmy Tomato's just down the road or better yet Cafe Crevier. I arrived when the pizza was supposed to be done, but they were behind and I watched the idiots prepare and then neglect to "cook" my order. They crammed a full sized pizza into an oven over-crowded with single slices. The moron cashier was pulling single slices out and leaving the door open constantly, so the oven door was open 90% of the time, as the single slices were removed. After the single slices were removed and my full sized pizza was the only one in the oven, they didn't care enough to rotate my order to the back of the oven, leaving it by the open door. My crisp pizza was far from it. The guy was visibly embarrassed when putting it in the box. Asked if I wanted it cooked more? I asked what good would that do at this point? He shook his head none. Additionally, the sauce is almost non existent and completely tasteless. Would rate negative stars 1/2 for crappy product and 1/2 for uncaring workers who don't give a damn about what they are preparing. Never going back. It wasn't cheap $27 for a 16" that went straight into the trash. Appropriate as that is how Tabor Pizza prepared it. Like it was trash.

Buffalo Chicken Slice To-Go!! Deliciousness in a Box!!

Five Star Pizzeria All Day Every Day!! with the key takeaway points here being that they always use the freshest of ingredients and put in countless hours of preparation time in order to serve up some of the most delicious food around. Add to that a menu full of Amazing Entrées, Hot & Cold Sandwiches, Salads, and you got yourself a winning combination where their Goal is always keeping their customers happy and well fed. Which as we all know go hand in hand Lol.   So whether you're watching the big game or just hanging out with hunger you really can't beat Tabor Pizzeria. Come And Get Your Munch On!!

Brilliant garlic knots. Nice crust on the outside and chewy in the middle. Perfect amount of butter and garlic.

Great for a slide to go with anything on it. I usually get a sausage or pepperoni slice and plain one. Garlic knots are exceptional.

Place wasn't busy, so far so good. Server comes over, hands us menus, asks if we want drinks. We say yes. He points to the cooler and says, "It's over there, help yourself." Not exactly Ritz-Carlton service, but alright, we rolled with it. A few minutes later he comes back to take the order. My girlfriend orders a slice and a salad. I ask for a chicken francese sandwich. Also asked for a cup of ice for the soda I apparently became responsible for serving myself. A little while later the server returns and says, "We don't have that sandwich on the menu." Fair enough. I told him I knew it wasn't listed, but since they make chicken francese, I figured putting it on bread wasn't exactly a NASA-level engineering project. He disappears behind the counter, comes back looking slightly uncomfortable, and says -- and I swear I'm not making this up -- "He doesn't want to make that now." Not "we can't." Not "we're out of ingredients." Not "the kitchen is slammed." Just... "doesn't want to make that now." At that point I realized I may have accidentally interrupted a very important evening of not making sandwiches. We left the unopened Diet Coke in the cooler where we personally retrieved it from, tossed a couple bucks down for the luxurious two sips of water, and headed to Annabella's -- where, shockingly, they managed to perform the impossible feat of turning chicken francese into a sandwich without causing a kitchen crisis. Now I remember why, despite living a mile away from Tony's, I hadn't been there in years. With so many great local pizzerias and Italian spots nearby that actually seem interested in serving customers, there's really no reason to go back. And for the staff at Tony's who may read this: I included a photo to help identify this rare and mysterious culinary creation known as "a chicken francese sandwich."

The servers behind the counter were helpful and friendly. I should really just try the plain or Sicilian slice on my first visit, but they had an interesting looking chicken, bacon, 1000 Island slice that was too good to pass up. Nice thick slice with a good crust. 1000 Island was an alternative to Ranch that I haven't seen before and was tasty. Plenty of street parking (not sure if they have a lot in back). Lots of seating. A nice place for lunch!

The pizza case is huge and beautiful and their slice selection is extensive. During my first visit I ordered a solo vodka pasta slice and it was soo delicious. I recently ordered a whole pie and it was also really great. I love how it's thin crust. My only complaint was that for a large pie it felt really small. Slices felt like kids size. Meatballs were a hit, especially with my almost one year old who devoured them. Kiddos also liked the penne vodka and a kids size order comes with a really generous amount for the price. I wish they had a soda fountain because pizza and soda. But they still have a large selection of bottled drinks. Overall it's a solid pizza joint with a menu that covers all of your standard pizza place eats like calzones, pastas, salads, etc. The inside is spacious and clean and it's also a great spot to dine in. I'm sure I'll be back.

I called ahead to check availability, and I'm glad I did! We didn't have a reservation, but thankfully the manager let us know that they'd have a table ready for us around 7:20pm (it was roughly 7pm when I called). My husband and I were just down the street, so we decided to go ahead and make our way there. Once we got seated, we were quickly greeted by our server, Mike. He was very attentive and friendly! We later learned that it was his second day on the job, which we found shocking as he did such a great job! As for the food... I'll be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana (my favorite Italian dish) and my husband ordered the Risotto Primavera. The Eggplant Parmigiana was not crispy at all, which was super disappointing! It had a great flavor, but I prefer a crispy texture so this didn't really hit the spot for me. It came with linguini noodles with tomato sauce, which was very bland. Whatever sauce they used did not have a great taste to it. As for the Risotto Primavera...it had a RICH flavor to it. My husband said "it's good, but not good enough to order again". I, on the other hand, didn't like it as I thought it was just too rich in taste. The food wasn't the best, but I'm giving them 4 stars because the overall service was fantastic! Everyone was so attentive, helpful and friendly, from the host to our server to the manager. It's rare these days to find a team where everyone is pitching in and happily doing so!
