I enjoyed my yummy thin crusted pizza, just with the right amount of crunch, pepperoni was perfectly cooked. I had been craving some buttery garlic knots and this did not disappoint. It hits exactly what you want from a bar pie, just worth noting it only comes in a 14" size, so it runs a bit small if you're sharing or especially hungry. We also got the thin and crispy large pie (the one featured on the One Bite series), and this was the standout. Great sauce, really good balance of flavor, and a crisp, crunchy base with just the right amount of char on the crust. It's the kind of pie you immediately think about going back for. Tabor Pizza has been a staple for decades in the area and continues to not disappoint. We recently stopped in for a few slices while we were in town and very little has changed over the years. We had cheese, buffalo chicken, pepperoni, and sicilian slices. All tasted great and represented classic NJ pizza. There was plenty of dining space and the service was friendly and prompt. Super friendly staff, plenty of parking and a large dining area inside and outside. They also sell by the slice and were in the process of making what seemed to be a few hundred garlic knots! I was asked if I was okay with the slightly longer wait for the bar pie but hey thats why I was here! The thin and crispy was solid. Not sure it hits a 7.9 for me maybe a 7.4- crisp crust, def zero flop, and ample sauce but just a smidge less cheese than I like. Note- they make their own sauce as well. Not at all discouraged, I took one look at the bar pie and knew this was my calling. Also crispy, tons of cheese and that caramelized cheese halo- yep - easily a 8.5 in my book! I was too harsh. The exceptional vibe in Tabor Pizzeria makes it the best pizzeria on 53 in the Morris Plains / Denville / Mount Tabor area. It's always at least half full in here on a weekday night. The pizzaioli are happy to be working there, and the takeout patrons constantly flow in and out. The far side dining room is populated with families having a good night. The garlic knots are unreal. Crispy yet doughy, flavor-packed, and sized for a satisfying bite. A friend of mine told me that she finally understood garlic knots when she had them here. Stop by. It's great. read more

6-13-26 I asked for Chicken Marsala with Penne Vodka on the side for a pick up. I got Chicken Marsala but it didn't have any Penne Vodka on the side. My Penne was in the Marsala sauce. And there wasn't enough Marsala sauce to put a thin layer of sauce on the chicken, and the chicken was too dry to eat. What was I going to do? Drive back to Tabor, wait for them to try again, and drive home. I threw 90% of it away, it wasn't fit to eat. It's not the first time mistakes happened. I can see making a mistake here and there but they have a habit of making too many mistakes. It is not that hard to communicate. It's time to find a new pizzeria. read more

As a pizza connoisseur I'm always looking for the best with high standards. The thin crust bar pie was really good, however a little less crispy but burnt on the ends (not deal breakers but worth noting). The wings were solid as well. I got the Dave portnoy rated pizza and also angel hair with garlic and olive oil as well as 3 single slices. The pizza was very lackluster and had the texture of card board. The pasta was not packaged correctly so all the oil spilled outside of the container and filled up the paper bag and got all over the car. Parking lot in front. Plenty of parking in this complex. My family and I come here once a week now since we are in the area and my daughters love the pizza here. It's a nice treat for them during the week, they know it's pizza day when we pull in. I recently tried the penne vodka and it really hit the spot. The sauce was perfect-- not too saucy. Came here for the pene vodka pasta it comes with no side salad ( which it should for the price. Not a big fan of the sauce not traditional vodka sauce. We got the pasta, two plain slices and two drinks. It came out to $30 dollars which is ridiculous. Wasn't expecting it to be that much money for Pasta it was $14.95 pink lemonade $2.93 and sparkling water $2.93. Which would come out of $26.71 plus tax so $28.48 so where's the extra 2 dollars you charged me. Over price food for it being not that great. I feel like it's the right thing to do by starting this review with a disclaimer -- I grew up in Parsippany, so Tabor is my childhood pizzeria. I grew up on this. So there's a possibility that this review is slightly biased due to nostalgia. HOWEVER, I would also like to add that my husband is a pizza connoisseur, and he is totally in love with Tabor. All of that being said, take this however you will. I love the staff here because they have always acted like you were a regular. Ownership and staff has changed over the years, but this has always remained true. You just feel familiar here which, to me, is characteristic of a quality pizzeria. The pizza is just high-quality classic pizzeria pizza. It's a Friday night staple. The piece de resistance that they recently added (May 2024) to their menu is the Crispy Bar Pie (different from their thin crust, so make sure you know what you're asking for)! Incredible pie. To me, it's up there just behind Star Tavern. Lastly, they make the best grilled chicken Caesar salad that I have EVER had. They give you a massive amount of chicken that's seasoned perfectly, and their dressing is fire. So, you can come for the pizza, but they're more than that for sure. read more

Stopped in twice in the last 2 months; once with my sister to split a classic Tabor Chef salad and their pepperoni Stromboli. The sauce is still the same - slow cooked and loads of flavor. The Stromboli was not "doughy" if you know what I mean... perfectly made. They still have creamy Italian dressing... hello 1980s!!!!... the second quick stop was for a corner Sicilian slice and a cups of pepperoni, ricotta & basil slice. Can of Diet Pepsi as well. 1st stop for salad, Stromboli & 2 waters was $30. The can of soda & 2 slices was $11. The pizza was good but not as spectacular as I was expecting. Got the thin crispy bar pie. It was indeed thin and had a nice caramelized cheese ring. The crust was well baked and had a little crunch but not as much as I would have liked. The cheese was good. The sauce had kind of a red bell pepper/onion thing going on. Not objectionable but just not my cup of tea. The garlic knots were exceptional. Nice crisp bottom and chewy center. Perfect amount of garlic. Saved the whole meal. Place completely sucks!! Tasteless, soggy, horribly prepared by twits uncaring about the product. Papa Johns is better. Stay with Jimmy Tomato's just down the road or better yet Cafe Crevier. I arrived when the pizza was supposed to be done, but they were behind and I watched the idiots prepare and then neglect to "cook" my order. They crammed a full sized pizza into an oven over-crowded with single slices. The moron cashier was pulling single slices out and leaving the door open constantly, so the oven door was open 90% of the time, as the single slices were removed. After the single slices were removed and my full sized pizza was the only one in the oven, they didn't care enough to rotate my order to the back of the oven, leaving it by the open door. My crisp pizza was far from it. The guy was visibly embarrassed when putting it in the box. Asked if I wanted it cooked more? I asked what good would that do at this point? He shook his head none. Additionally, the sauce is almost non existent and completely tasteless. Would rate negative stars 1/2 for crappy product and 1/2 for uncaring workers who don't give a damn about what they are preparing. Never going back. It wasn't cheap $27 for a 16" that went straight into the trash. Appropriate as that is how Tabor Pizza prepared it. Like it was trash. read more

Our first time here! We wanted to try something different, and we saw this was a Barstool One Bite 7.9 from Dave Portnoy, so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered 2 large pies (well done) and I think they came out great, and quickly. It was only a 20 minute wait for a sunday night football night. What was interesting was the sauce, and nobody can really put their finger on what made it interesting and if we all liked it. I'm a big thin crust pizza fan - when it's done right. This place advertises themselves as a thin crust pizza kind of place. When I think of thin crust pizza I'm thinking "tavern style- cheese all the way to the edge of the crust, smaller size pie" kind of thin crust. This pizza is more New York style. It is crispy, but the sauce to crust ratio is off. It's a bit dry and lacking some flavor. It's a fine pizza, but there is better. I also got a house salad with oil and vinegar. It was fine. Some lettuce tomatoes cucumbers and cheese - maybe one or two red onion slices. I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Let me qualify this review by saying that I love Tabor's pizza and sandwiches but they need to do better with salads. I ordered a Mediterranean salad that did not resemble the description in the menu. Iceberg and romaine are not mixed greens. Only green olives were in the salad. The price of 12.00 is way too much. It was like going into a 2050 futuristic pizzeria surrounded by aliens and old women with great service. Imagine pulling up on the pizza place to be greeted by a Tesla CyberTruck! Talk about service. In theory they could take us anywhere we wanted to go in the truck as long as we buy a pie. By the way: we got the Tabor Special pizza and the Penna Vodka pizza--both were *literally* out of this world. My fam recently moved to morris plains/whippany area right off of rt 10. First time getting takeout we decided to give tabor a shot. I was very skeptical at first, only because im pretty picky when it comes to certain foods in certain areas... For our first ever order from here we got a large chicken vodka pie, a large sicilian pie, and a large italian sub (ham salami provolone lett tom mayo, oil/vinegar, salt pepper oregano, andddd onions thats how its gotta be ordered loll). My skepticism was soon erased, and my taste buds completely satisfied. The chicken vodka pie was one of the best "specialty" pies ive ever had. The italian sub instantly catapulted itself into my top 3 favorites all time. The sicilian pie was a bit underwhelming. Ive had way better sicilian pies, but it was alright at best... Otherwise this wouldve been a 5! If youre in the area or new to the area, this should be one of your main go to's up there... Thanks Tabor! read more

Another day, another pizzeria to try in my new area! I'm still on the quest to find the best. The plain slice at Tabor is VERY solid. It's large, perfectly thin and crispy and has lots of cheese with a small amount of sauce (just how I like it). The red sauce is also very flavorful with hints of garlic. This was a wonderful slice, so I'd imagine that a pie would be even better. Next time! Unfortunately my chicken parm was just okay,. When I unwrapped the foil at least half the cheese was stuck to the foil, which made for a messy and partially cheeseless sandwich. The chicken was also a bit rubbery and not as crispy as I like it. They have a very large dine-in space, so maybe next time I'm better off trying this if I don't order to-go. Service is friendly and placing a to-go order was speedy. I called ahead by only a few minutes and my order was ready when I arrived. Next time I plan on trying a pie and I'm sure it'll be deeelish. read more
