I love panera bread, but i have to drive far for one. I order my salad plus a bagel. I pick it up and didnt even give me an option to get chips. Just gave me the baguette. Wtf ask me please what i want with my salad. Then my cream cheese. Ive never had to pay unless i order the big one. The store manager with attitude was all like we need to charge u for it. Honestly, u need to change staff. Drove over 1 hour in traffic so that they got my order wrong and charge for free cream cheese that i gotten in multiple location, barstow ca, torrance ca, lancaster pa. But this a hole charges. Very clean and friendly staff however the employees during heir break took a booth and did not offer it to the guests. One of the employees asked a friend to hold the booth for them so they could have the booth. Is there not a break room for the staff? I feel that booths should be made a priority to the guests. Not that they do not work hard but as a patron i would like to sit in a booth and have a bit more privacy. Employees should have their own area. read more

If I could give this place a no star review I would, the customer service is horrible. After waiting over an hour for my food in the drive thru, I get to the front and have to wait even longer. The girl at the front window didn't apologize or even explain why it was taking so long. When I looked through the window I saw them with no gloves microwaving my food and then transfer it to the container. For what this place charges it's refinery disgusting and unsanitary. When my food was finally done I was so over the wait and service, I decided to just not even complain because I wouldn't get anything out of the associate. This Panera Bread always provides quality food. I love the fact that this location has a drive thru! But, there are only two issues I have encountered about this location. 1) The drive thru does get a long line. 2) From time to time they get my side orders wrong with my meals. I assume it's because they're used to handing out the chips. But, I prefer to have an apple or the baguette. Other than that, I don't have any issues with this location. Third time coming here and I am officially unsatisfied. My order was mixed up, salad didn't come with any dressing even though I ordered some on the side and the sandwhich came without any sauce at all even though I ordered EXTRA sauce. Seriously can the cooks not read an order? On top of all this the sandwhich came torn apart, so there was no way to grasp and eat it. I had to send it back because I would have had to eat it with a fork. Luckily it came out better the 2nd time, except the sauce was still missing. Came in last night to pick up a quick meal. By the time I got home I realized that they had not packed my complete meal. I love pretty far from the location and was so frustrated that I immediately called and made a complaint. The manager was very empathetic and Informed me that I could return anytime to pick up my salad. Came back today, was upgraded and didn't even have to wait. I love the panera menu and it's a healthy option. I love this location because of the drive thru. I have a 13mo old and 3 yo and many days I can't get out of the car while they nap during lunch time. So wherever I am in town I'll drive to this location. read more

I got to panera around 6:30pm, I ate a green goddess salad, it was basic. Then around 7pm I asked one of the girls (she had blonde hair and glasses) to refill the ice coffee dispenser, because it was extremely watered down , it was almost see through, and she said "we refill it when it's done". I thought that was kind of rude considering she saw how watered down the ice coffee was. So then I waited about 30min to ask again when a young gentlemen (very small and petite) happened to walk by, I asked him if the ice coffee had been replaced yet and he said "Oh we might be out for the night but I'll double check" . Never again did we hear from him, not even a courtesy update on the ice coffee, which never got refilled. Therefore, I didn't like the employees and I will most likely not refer this panera to a friend. read more

Firts time here i live close by..so i order panini with ham..good and a soup to go ..got home food delicious except that i notice that my soup had small hairs..i found 4 small hairs ..at first i tought it was mine but after finding 4 hairs . I live in Orange County ended up at this location because we were leaving the hospital. Ordered 3 soups and only received 2. I didn't notice till we got to my sisters house in Hawaiian gardens. I called the restaurant spoke to someone that transferred me to the manager. Unfortunately the manager wanted me to go back for my soup. I drive a v8 truck not worth my gas and time. Said because i paid cash he didn't know how to fix this so he would call me back the following day after speaking to his regional manager. I gave him the opportunity to fix the problem and I never received a call. I have always worked in customer service and have always appreciated it when someone gives me the opportunity to get an issue resolved but apparently this company doesn't know how to do that. read more

This location consistently gets my online orders correct. We order multiple bagel packs for work and the Pico Rivera store lost our business after getting the order wrong multiple times or not ready even 15mins after the time specified. This store always has my orders correct and ready on time, if not earlier. The whittier store has always given us good service but is too far to be convenient. read more

I thought I had found the one Panera that wasn't a total disaster, but alas, this one falls short too. The purple shirt mgr saw that I was waiting in line to return something and was the next cashier available. Instead of serving me he scurried away to do nothing and let the next available cashier handle my return. This lack of leadership/taking responsibility is most likely the root cause of the sub-3star reviews here. My Bfast sandwich was un-toasted and my protein cold. The cashier was understanding and had it remade. For whatever reason, the chicken was cold again and I am giving up on this sandwich and Panera. I wish I had not already ordered a Bfast meeting to be catered by them as I do not want their volume of business to mislead them since they have a lot of work to do around quality and learning from errors. read more

I was at your store today around 3 placed my order went to get drink saw wet sign but floor was very wet did not see that and walked to get drink, slipped and fell floor was very wet did not see that until I was on the floor. The girl that was waiting for orders saw me and said are u ok and I said I think so but not sure she helped me up... said to the person that was in charge of cleaning " said I told u not to use so much water" he walked away!! I used to be a huge Panera fan. This place has definitely left a bitter taste in my mouth. My daughter and I went through the drive thru last Thursday and ordered 2 pick twos, 2 kids menus and 2 cookies. I specified I wanted 2 bags of chips instead of the baguettes and the change was verified. I am a huge believer that I as the customer should not have double check to make sure my entire order is there and is accurate. That is the restaurant's job. We pull up, pay and my daughter makes it a habit to still check the bag because she's had bad experiences elsewhere, she tells me everything looks good, then I start pulling away and she says, "wait, my sandwich is missing." I have to pull into a parking spot and she goes inside to ask for the sandwich which wasn't made and so she had to wait for it. They took her receipt and gave her a complimentary pastry (which was somewhat hard for a danish) and she returned to the car. As I was about to leave I ask her for my bag of chips, to which she replies, "what chips?" NO CHIPS!! I had to get out of the car to go in and at this point I'm pissed. How do you miss both bags of chips and a sandwich?! I don't have my receipt at this point since they kept it and so when I ask the girl and the pick up counter she tells me, "oh, well i'm not sure where the receipt is but I'll just give you the chips" and hands me one bag, so I tell her, I need 2 since I ordered 2. No apologies, nothing. I'm trying to get home, so I dont have time to talk to a manager. Not because I want something in return, but because they need to better train their employees to care about getting orders correct before handing them to the paying customer. I go to Panera for breakfast almost everyday at different locations due to work and this is by far the best one I've ever been to. It's always clean and they have never messed up my order. I always use rapid pickup and they a lot of times have my order ready before the 10 minutes. Overall great location. read more

I'm happy to have a location so close to home and the set up is great! A lot of space inside and out but my first visit was not so great as far as service. Came to Panera for coffee and pastries and they did not have any coffee. All the brews had been made 20 minutes before I had arrived and they were all empty. When a worker was notified they made a very weak coffee that tasted more like hot water with a dash of coffee. Also, I purchased a pumpkin muffie and was told they didn't have anymore. Visited recently to treat my dad to lunch. Sadly I noticed a few of the vegan options they had before, were gone, so I opted to order nothing since I didn't want to pay $9 for a salad. I did still order food for my father to go. He ordered a $9 whole sandwich with chips. When he received it, it looked very small with barely anything inside of it. Also we later noticed they gave him more bread instead of chips. Why would he want a side of bread with his sandwich?! Makes no sense. I went to the nearby Fresh Griller for a tofu bowl, and my dad said he wished he'd ordered food there instead of Panera Bread, since my food looked better and there was more of it for the same price. Trying new store and disappointed with the service. The young lady at the counter didn't know the products. This spot has a bigger eating area and sadly only one server. Had to send bagel back because it was cold and received the butter after we were done. My egg whites, avacodo, and spinach was delicious so that's why they got a 2. ****ATTENTION PANERA CORPORATE OFFICE****. Do you not see the YELP reviews for this location?? I have visited this location's drive thru 4-5 times and my orders have all been incorrect! The reason I come to this location is convenience of drive thru on my way to work, I have been to 5-6 different Panera's in California but this is the only one where they constantly gave me my orders completely wrong. For me breakfast is the most important meal, there was 3-4 times that I ordered breakfast sandwiches and got the total opposite. I unfortunately drive off trusting that my order is correct but get an unpleasant surprise when I arrive to work. Customer service SUCKS, the one time I did get off to order food inside this panera the tables were dirty and the floor of restaurant was full of crust and wet. I almost felt like calling Cal OSHA. This Downey location is giving panera a bad name, management needs to be changed after reading all these reviews because it doesn't look like it's only me who sees all this stuff!!Something needs to be done ASAP!! read more
