I think I'm the only weirdo that actually craves soups during the summer. Does this mean that I'll be eating salads all winter long? Who knows. But what I do know is that Panera Bread has the best damn soups in town! This location of Panera Bread has done me really well. I used to come here often back in the day before the Veranda shopping center was built. Not sure why I stopped coming here in the first place, but their soups have got a sista HOOKED! Hook, line, and sinker. I love damn near all of their soups. Damn near ALL of them. Their broccoli cheddar, their tomato bisque, their seasonal summer corn chowder. All delicious, I tell you. Delicious! But my absolutely faaavorite soup from here is their cream of chicken and wild rice soup. Ermahgawd. Like... like, like, like... I just caaaan't get enough of it! I can't tell you how many people have looked at me cray cray while I'm eating this soup in 100 degree East Bay weather. But you know what? I don't care! Cause, dat ish is GOOD mmkay? I also really enjoy their caesar salad and I always pair that bad boy up with my soups. You know what I'm talkin' about! It's that "you pick 2" life. Their chips are delicious. Their baguette bread is delicious. Their drinks are delicious. Their pastries... I mean damn, everythang is delicious!! Their chocolate chunk cookie goes so hard. It's so hard NOT to get that cookie almost every time that I come here. Their bagels are really tasty too. I mean seriously, the food is pretty smackin' if I shall say so myself. What's also great about this location is the service and the cleanliness. The cashiers are always super friendly and they're always able to answer my questions. They don't rush me when the line is going out the door, and they let me sample as many of the soups that I want (because I LOVE samples!). Stand up service and I wouldn't expect anything less. The only inconvenience is the tight and limited parking. This location shares parking with all of the other merchants that are located within the Willows. Sometimes I can find a decent spot, and other times I have to circle around the lot a few times or park a bit far (I guess I could use the exercise, but still). Love, love, looove me some Panera! not my usual Panera, I done in-store kiosk, systems popping up"no scrambled eggs " ask if i still want to order? "Gee dad, can you turn the fireplace on?" First time to this location and I used the kiosk to place my breakfast order. My order was promptly brought to me. It only took about 5 minutes. The breakfast sandwich was excellent, as usual. I ordered the egg cheese and sausage on ciabatta bread. Really a tasty meal for about 500 calories. If you lose the sausage it drops about 150 calories. This morning for some reason the dark roast coffee was empty. Not sure why. The restaurant was very clean and orderly. As I was eating, a ton of customers drifted in and they were served promptly. At least today, this restaurant was really operating on all cylinders. There was not one customer waiting around for an order. This is quite a large restaurant, comfortably furnished with lots of find paintings of bakeries. The carpet looks old. One thing I've noticed that most Panera's is that they don't operate their gas fireplaces. The one in Dublin used to be always on, even in the summer. This one was off even on a cold winter morning. Not a big deal, but I get the impression they actually don't know how to turn them on or off. So overall a pleasant visit. Nothing super spectacular, but I like the predictability of Panera's. I should also mention the bathroom was large and clean. Parking at this location can be a real pain, but on an early Saturday morning I had no trouble. read more

Another update just to say...I definitely recommend trying their Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad. It is absolutely delicious. The chopped romaine lettuce is fresh, the fruits (strawberries, pineapples, mandarin oranges and blueberries) were also very fresh. The fruit and poppyseed dressing gives the salad a sweet crisp taste to it, and the seasoned chicken balances out the sweetness. There are also chopped up walnuts that's gives your bite a little crunch. Again, Ben made everything to perfection, thank you. I am pleading with this location--would you pujleez do something about people who majorly abuse the drinks? Example--the Asian man that comes in Daily in the morning. He at least comes in with 3 of his own mugs. And they're at least 40 oz containers each!!! He fills them to the max. I often have to wait for more coffee even though it's between 6-7:30 always. I have not been to a Panera bread that was so pitiful. Small bug flying all over the tables. Men's Bathroom was not kept. No one cleaning the tables. The restaurant was not well kept for the customers. And, most of the food that we were wanting were out. read more

I usually don't partake in Panera as I try to keep things low carb and on the healthy side, but found myself in front of a beautiful inviting salad. The greens were fresh and the chicken was flavorful, not over salted and as I do most times I brought my own dressing. I found the coffee to be strong and full bodied and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch experience. The establishment was clean and the coffee station was well stocked and organized. In the future I won't dismiss Panera as a lunch option as this was a pretty good meal. read more

Terrible. Egg, sausage and cheese sando was dry and tasteless. There was barely any cheese on it. Surprised management let their food go out like this. No hand sanitizer available and tables were dirty and not wiped down from previous customers. I saw three that were covered in crumbs and spills. The lettuce that they added was a herb type salad, which doesn't agree with my tastebuds. The turkey was not fresh and tasted bland. I literally had not been to a Panera in a couple years and was kind of confused about the menu but the guy at the register was super helpful and even gave me recommendations on what to get. The charged up lemonade however literally had me hooked I am actually addicted. They need to sell this in bulk or something I can buy I literally fell in love it is stunning beautiful gorgeous all of the above. I literally drank upwards of three of these cups. This Panera Bread location deserves 5 stars because they are so generous. I ordered a toasted blueberry bagel today and to my surprise, they gave me two tiny containers of butter to use. I ordered the exact same thing at two other locations in the the East Bay, but those places didn't offer any butter. Compared to the location in Alameda, this Panera Bread gives me more chicken in my Thai salad. In Alameda, you would have to pay extra to get the same amount of chicken. Please don't kill me. So I have never in the 29 years of being on the planet, eaten at a Panera bread...until recently. Located in Willows Shopping Center, Panera Bread has always been one of those places that I always see but never go to...again, till a couple days ago. My girls mom gave me a gift card to Panera recently so I decided to use it on Tuesday. I saw this "Rapid Pick Up" option online and decided to give it a shot. I was feeling soup that day so I browsed through all the soups and chose the Cream of Chicken w/ Wild Rice. I go to check out and I see a message at the bottom saying that if my gift card doesn't have a PIN, I can't use it online. Really dude? At least with Bdubs I can make the order and then pick it up without having to use a card online. I mean, this part of the Panera experience actually made me appreciate Bdubs more. It's crazy. So what this meant is on my 30 min lunch I had to go order off the menu and then wait there. Luckily they have a screen which shows where you are in line but I cut it close that day. Panera needs to change that. Foodwise, really good soup. It had a good creamy flavor and was very warm still by the time got back to work. I'll come back for the good prices on the soup and since I have some gift card left. But coming back on the regular? Not so much. read more

Fresh ingredients! Customer service is excellent. Order taker made a mistake instead of the flatbread pepperoni I was given the sandwich pepperoni. The manager heard me telling my husband they got it wrong and the manager immediately fixed and even gave us a free apple juice for my little one because I got A drink not knowing it's has caffeine so not suitable for younger kiddos. I'm surprised still standing on poor management. Did an Online Rapid Pick Up on June 1st at 8am at this location from their app. The cafe wasn't busy. Order wasn't at the rapid picked up section. Went to the "picked up food area" or counter where they served food. There was another customer waiting. A Staff Member behind the "counter" called another customer's name, looks at me, and I told her that it's not for me. I realized another person came in after me and got their order. About 10 mins, I asked about my order, she told me to go check from the cashier. Waited in line. Finally got my "rapid order." It doesn't take that much to just hand me over the food. If they're handling something at the moment, they could ask if someone that could help me. Just a quick, "hey can you help this person" What's the point of "rapid online order" when I have to wait in line to get my order. Ok so online rapid pick is useless. Giving this place another chance, decided to do an online curbside pick up from now on through their app. It was doing well so well until Aug 1st. I made ordered for curbside pick up during lunchtime. I understand it will be busy and some idiots parked on curbside spot. So I parked couple rows next to curbside spots. The app got my license plate and car color. Followed the app instruction. Press the "I'm here" and not parked on any numbered curbside spot. Left my emergency light as instructed "for faster service." I had eye glued of the front door since I was parked not far from the curbside pick up spot. About 30 mins later still nothing. Called the restaurant and telling them I've been waiting for my order for 30 mins and asked if there's something wrong. I said it in the way like I wasn't surprised from this location. A staff member answered, sound like the supervisor or manager in duty. He apoligized over the phone and told me that they didnt see it and asked if I press, "I'm here" on the app. Told him I did. (Still in control) Then this is what I almost lost it. He said that I shouldn't have waited and should have come in the restaurant. I tried to explain this through anger on what I have deal with on "rapid pick up" incident. I added that what's point of a CURBSIDE PICK UP. He also added that a staff did came out and look my car. (LIES!) That didn't happen. I'm not blind. I have my eye on the front door of the restaurant like there's no tomorrow. So the same person I spoken with from phone brought my food to me. Mind you, he's able to find my car since my emergency lights are on. He could have just brought the food, apologized, and move on. No, he said that same dumb statements (hey, it is the same idiot) that I shouldn't have never waited for 30 mins and should have gone inside. Now, I'm trying not be those obnoxious customer and try to explain what happen. While this is happening, another staff came running out the door to give him a food they forgot to put the bag. If hadn't b**ch, I wouldn't have got all my order. (Not the first time this happen from this place) . I hope this is enough justification for my bad review. Panera Bread.. If I had money, endless amounts of money, I would almost always go here. I'm just completely in love in a way with what this restaurant has. It's so welcoming and all encompassing. It just is a homely kind of establishment that really makes you want to keep coming here and spend breakfast, lunch, or dinner here instead of somewhere else. Great hours. Great, great, great hours. 6am-9pm every day except for Saturday. Saturday's it's open until 10pm. An absurd amount of seating: long tables, small tables, big booths, small booths, shaded seating outside, unshaded seating outside, and a booth outside. They've got a menu that can fill and/or appease almost any sort of craving. Have you seen their bread? Freshly made and gorgeous looking. Don't get me started on their pastries. The muffins smell so good. The carrot cake is my fav. THE OATMEAL COOKIE IS MY JAM AHH. They got fruit, they got coffee, they got pasta, they got salads, they got sandwiches, etc. I'm a big fan of their creamy tomato soup. That's something I can eat almost every day. I've had it several times at this locations whether it was for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's great. Sometimes I get a side of chips, of bread, or an apple to go along with it, but most of the time I just get the soup by itself with some pieces of bread or croutons in it. It's so fresh. The heat of the soup warms your insides. They weren't kidding when they said the soup would be creamy. It was actually soothing to put my mouth on the soup. Now I remember why I don't come here. Ordered thru door dash with $5 off and no delivery charge for dash pass but 2 pick two's still came up to over $31.00. Yes, I tip well, but.. Grilled cheese wasn't grilled at all! Not a single bit, glad we have an air fryer at work. Tons of thick (but fresh) bread with sargento's thin sliced cheese. Kids meal might have been better. Mac and cheese was pretty good, but container not full. Website offered tomato soup, but not on DoorDash menu. No butter with bread and just thrown on top haphazardly just as the micro thin chicken avocado sandwich was thrown together. Yup, add this place to the Uber expensive hard pass list. Previously I had horrible service at this location and the Treat drive thru and I stopped coming here 2 yr ago and to Trea 1 yr ago...however, I returned today and was absolutely pleasantly surprised. My cashiers were Andy and Stephanie.and they took my order, made positive small talk conversation with me, and allowed me to use my pick 2 for 2 coupons. Why is that a big deal, because I won those coupons during the pandemic and they required 1 trip per month but I was a shut in for 6 mo and never used them. So when it could be easy to make a big deal about an expired coupon, these guys and the Mgr, honored it. I was prepared for a sucky customer service experience and I was happily wrong. My classmate and I came here after clinic to do some homework and attend a meeting later in the evening. Service here was great! I did not get the employees name but he went above and beyond. He was very friendly and was not afraid to sing to songs that were playing in the restaurant. The wait for the line and for food to arrive was not long at all. I was able to place an order and find a seat right away. There are plenty of spots and perfect to study or have meetings. We sat at a long table in the far corner and the guy was nice enough to block it off so no one else comes and bothers us or interrupts our meeting. He checked in on us frequently was well. We had a great experience here. Food was great too. We will now be having our dental hygiene component meetings here! read more

First issue is that I used the self-service kiosk and drink cups were unavailable. Asked the cashier for assistance and was told there should be some "over there" the roughly 66% of the restaurant she was gesturing toward. I eventually found some by pilfering through the cabinets, which brings me to the second issue: cafe was a mess, the drink station was sticky, drinks spilled everywhere, cabinet doors had a sticky residue, items were haphazardly placed likely due to everyone being forced into a self-service situation. The dish stations were stacked high with dirty plates. Oh, and the issues did not stop there, our order was never called when it was complete, so it sat there for basically 30 minutes while we waited patiently. I finally went to ask about the status the large woman behind the counter snapped at me about being short staffed without even offer apology for lack of communication. After all of this there were several times missing from my order like the chips, French bread, and juice for the kid's meal. This store seems to have some serious management and morale issues. read more
