Took over 30 minutes to get two coffee totes. Staff unprofessional (and less than helpful or unaware of Panera processes). Staff discussing loudly things that didn't make sense about their jobs/hours/placement. one loudly announced she was leaving to go smoke. No sturdy bags. No condiments available that come with package. Wont be back and have already passed on experience to many others. read more

Gone are the glory days when the initial Columbia location on 9th street was a great place to eat with quality food and great service. I gave this location a shot recently when I was in a hurry and heading out of town. Servers were inattentive and had to ask me to repeat my order several times. Then I get my order and it wasn't what I ordered (bread). They acted like it was my fault and I suspect it was due to the inattentive person who took my order. They corrected it but acted like it was a big chore to do so. I used to get a tuna on rye bread sandwich every 2-3 weeks for many years after their franchises first opened. It didn't matter which location, it was always prepared consistently at any location. Then the first change; they always had a very generous amount of tuna on the sandwich. Then...boom...just a little sliver of tuna on the sandwich and lots of lettuce, tomato and onions to fill the sandwich out. Then...boom...they disconnected making rye bread. Then...boom...they discontinued making my favorite pastry the Bear Claw. Then...boom they discontinue the steakhouse salad after i switched to that after the tuna sandwich went downhill. Panera is a good example of what happens to quality when private equity investors take over a company that is in the service industry. I feel for the franchisees who have to live with corporate neglect and incompetence. I can't imagine they will still be in business nationwide 2-3 years from now. The original St.Louis Bread Co. owners must be depressed to see their quality operations turn into a total mess. read more

Absolutely the worst service I've ever had at Panera's. Crew was more interested in talking to the girls that came in than getting the orders correct. Parking lot is a nightmare also read more

we waited 25 minutes for our order (two sandwiches). when we asked how long it'd take after 17 minutes, we were told to "be patient" (the place was not particularly crowded). When we got our food, it was very poorly made. easily the worst bread co I've ever had the displeasure of going to. read more

I've been going here since 2010 and it's never been as bad as it is now. Employees are way too slow, love wasting lots of time talking and complaining (especially Tina who is very rude, confrontational and apparently hates drink orders - I mean she did say it loud enough for waiting customers to hear) and not valuing the customers time and patience, so figure it was time to make a review. Even if you wanna risk it and put in an online order they will probably take 30 more minutes from the time their apps says it should have been done / given to customer. The service at Brickton Rd Panera Bread is less than one star 99% of the time now in 2026 so everyone might want to go to Columbia mall Panera Bread so you don't starve while wasting your time at this one. ;) read more

Sat in drive through for 15 minutes, didn't move forward once, left. No urgency to get meals out, bad service

This place sucks but if you have a MyPanera account you can use it to your advantage to get meals half off. Every time you order online, the order will be late. I have ordered online here 20+ times and it has never been on time. Each time I have ordered online I get an email saying "Your order is running behind. We've just added a reward to your MyPanera account to make things right." So, every time this happens a reward is added to my account. Because it has never not been late, I have so many rewards stacked up and get most meals about half off and some completely free. To get around the inconvenience of the food being late just schedule the pickup order about an hour before you actually want to pick it up. The orders typically run 30 minutes to an hour late. read more

I had to make a point to write a review. I had placed an order the day before for a catering pick up. Of course, I ended up putting in the wrong date. Upon arriving to the store, they were able to refund me and help create a new order in a timely manner. I know this was not easy as they were flooded with catering orders, first thing in the morning. Thank you so so much to the team for getting me taken care of, a special shout out to James C who was helping in the store that day. Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving the day! read more

Horrible service time. Ordered a smoothie and bagel and watched as my smoothies sat ready for 15 minutes on the shelf while waiting for them to grab the bagel which you heard many people acknowledge was all that was missing but no one wanted to go grab read more

This place is a disaster! From management to the front line. When I ordered I didn't notice the people waiting. I soon found out that some had been waiting 30 minutes. I ordered a breakfast sandwich. I left after 20 minutes while people ahead of me were still waiting. Sadly management was chatting in the dining area not helping employees at all. It's an embarrassment. I will no be back. read more

Ordered a salad promoted as harvest chicken salad - got the salad without chicken. Also ordered a bakery piece which I didn't get. This can happen BUT when I asked for the chicken for my salad, I was given the comment: yes I can give you chicken. But even more unusual - to be polite at least - when I asked for the bakery piece which I had ordered and paid for at the ordering terminal, the response was "we ran out" - not an apology in the beginning nor the offer to pick something else - just plan - "we don't have it". Then a different person came and helped and offered our money back or to chose something else. Ambience not as clean and cozy as usual at Panera bread. Main issue was really the feeling that the staff members don't care about the customer. While being there another person also complaint about their order. read more

Every single employee who was asked a question by myself or another customer was told to wait and they had to get another employee to answer the question. From the bathroom code, to where the forks were located. I went at 9am and they were out of many bagel options, no one knew where the cream cheese was located. The dining area was absolutely filthy and seeing as how it was 9am, I assume the trash had not been taken out from the day before as every trash can including those outside were full. read more

Horrible. Took over 30 minutes in the drive through for cold food. Avoid at all costs if you value your time and money.

The place is filthy. The "sandwich" is lettuce with 2 slices of unripe tomatoes, onion and cucumber with a few crumbs of feta. But mostly greens. read more

Do NOT order from this location. And if you do, check your order BEFORE you pull away, or leave the counter. The order will not be right, it will be wrong. On three different occasions on pick twos the sandwich or soup has been left out. So literally half of the order is missing. Which really defeats the purpose of eating here. Today we order two identical pick twos. Bacon turkey bravo sandwiches and autumn squash soups. Got the soups, got one sandwich. When we call, we have to drive all the way back to the store to be credited for their mistake. Seriously, go to any other location. Management here is not able to train staff to check and verify orders. read more

this location is by far the filthiest Panera I have ever been into. Waited for over 20 minutes for our order. Food residue stuck on sandwich wrapping disgusting flies all over the kitchen, sticky floors all over. this place should be shut down. We ended up tossing our food in the garbag. read more

This is regarding the Nifong location. I'm a regular and a sip club subscriber. I also DoorDash so get that they're busy. I called at 11am after realizing my $$$$ earbuds had fallen out of my pocket. After 13 rings, he picked up and said he didn't have time to look and to call back in 2 hours. These were pricey so I didn't feel like I could wait. I went to the store and purchased a lunch, then asked if somebody could look. Nope. The lady up front tried very hard to help me but didn't seem to know. So I asked for the manager who told me to come back in 2 hours. They didn't take my number, nothing. I get they're busy but just glance behind the register , ok? It takes 30 seconds. The usual crew is awesome, but this was a bad experience. Food was good though. read more

This is the worst service I have ever had at this location. I understand the labor shortage but, this was absurd. They seemed to be out of just about everything, the poor front register person seemed overworked, the fountain was dirty and broken, the bathroom was unpleasant with one poor worker trying to clean it by herself, no clean trays, and it took an hour to get our food even though the place was almost empty. When we got our food, the hot sandwich was cold and just dropped in pieces unwrapped onto everything in the bag, and the lettuce on my salad was limp and stringy and some of the strawberries were moldy or squashed. I'm reluctant to give such a bad review, people need to work, but for almost $40 for two people to eat lunch there, you'd think that at least the strawberries wouldn't be moldy.. read more

The worst service I've ever had at a Panera. No one was at the front counter. It took nearly 25 mins to order using the computer. At least 8 things we tried to order they were out of stock on. Trash is everywhere and a number of things in the bathroom are broken. I would comment on the food, but we have now been waiting 20 mins and it still hasn't shown up. Hope they shut this place down. read more

If I could give this Panera zero stars I would. Placed an online order and went inside to pick it up, was ignored by 2 employees and then told there would be an hour wait with no reason why. Another employee finally came and said she would make our order, then gave us the wrong items. There were 7 employees in the kitchen, so I don't know why they couldn't complete orders. Extremely disappointed by the employees attitude and quality of food, I will never return. read more

Very slow. I got a premade bakery item and a bread loaf and it took like 15 minutes. These things are pre-made. The environment did seem cool to study in but I wouldn't go here if I was ever in a rush. read more

terrible say in the drive thru for 50 minutes and they still got my order wrong!! and then my food was cold

Always the best bread! Tomato basil soup is my fav... and ordering through the app is easy peasy. Do give them a try.

awful service, disgusting, people are rude, took forever, waiting fully for 40 minutes for a soup and salad, spent way more money than I should've. they let the phone ring continuously and they were talking shit about the phone ringing in front of customers. the walls have mold on them and weird grease stains, there's fully two workers and they are just arguing and there are 5 other people who had been waiting for an hour just to leave and beg for a refund. read more

We ordered our dinner to be delivered. We got two half sandwiches and two side salads and paid $50. when the order arrived, the bad was open and the "complimentary bread" was laying on top totally exposed to the driver who delivered it, with our plastic utensils. The bread was practically burnt and random sizes. My husband ordered a chicken bacon avocado sandwich and got one tiny strip of bacon and a sliver of avocado. A total rip off. Don't waste your money on this location it's horrible. read more

One of the grossest Panera's I've ever seen. From the dirty doors to poop on the toilets. Yes, both toilets. And it's 10:00am, so pretty certain they're not cleaning them. Floors are dirty. Sneeze guards, dirty. Crumbs all over. Seriously need the health dept to come see this place. Yuck! read more

Everyone is giving this a low rating, but I had a great experience. I arrived around 7 o'clock, and when I walked in, there was a person wiping down tables. The people behind the counter gave us plenty of time to think, but were prepared when we stepped up, and took our order. The only inconvenience we experienced was that our order had to be taken in the to-go form, so we had to go pick it up when they called out our name. They explained that the washing machine had just broken and they didn't have any clean dishes, so it is very easy to understand. I don't hold that against them. When we did receive our food, everything was there, and it all tasted very good. We were visited several times by the employee who took our order, Sky. She was very kind, cleared our table of trash even though that is not a part of her job description, and was all around a very friendly, inviting person. read more

The worker that checked me out was probably the biggest bitch I've ever had check me out. She couldn't of given me more of an attitude because I didn't know that lunch wasn't served. I went to the restaurant last night. They was about to close so I wasn't upset that my sandwich was completely disgusting. even have enough meat on there and if I'm gonna pay of money that you guys are charging for it should have the right amount of meat every time I go I get the chicken bacon the amount of meat that I receive it varies I called to the manager. He was very understanding. I told him that I'll be back the next day. I'll just have it for lunch instead of dinner he said great. I'll go in at lunch. The manager at lunch was rude and very as if I was trying to steal from the restaurant like I told her after the conversation that I had with the night manager, I didn't think that I needed my receipt. I don't even know if they gave me a receipt, but why would I lie? could've been handled better and I could've been treated better. I just wanted sandwich I didn't ask for it to be made jacked up if persistence is key things like this wouldn't happen. read more

So usually I have great service at Panara. I stood at the front line for 5 minutes. Then I asked how to order a drink on the computer/ahead order thing. The staff lady didn't have much to say. TDLR: This Panera sent me to the ER and told me it was my fault. I'm allergic to apples. Asked the cashier if there was any apple in their Strawberry Banana Smoothie and told her "I can't have apples". She told me there were no apples in the smoothie. I asked if she was sure and she said yes. 10 minutes later I'm having an anaphylactic reaction, pulled up the ingredients online, and there's apple puree in the smoothie. Panera denied liability because I "didn't use the word allergy" and "technically there were no apples blended into the smoothie, just apple puree". I wouldn't trust their staff with a rock, much less your health. read more
