I probably just had the worst customer experience of my life. It's not often you get robbed, get called a bitch, and threatened to have the cops called on you by manager at a sandwich place, but here we are. I ordered Pickleman's 2 hours ago. It said it would be here by 11pm. It never arrived. I called them at 11:40pm and was told by Ebraheem that they gave it to an Uber eats driver and so it's not their fault if I never got it. There's nothing else they can do. I have been a regular customer there for close to 10 years so I was very upset. I told Ebraheem I am coming over to pick up my order in person, and was told they won't make my sandwich because it was already sent out via Uber Eats. I said "I don't give a F- it was already sent out, I never got it" The guy hung up on me. I know it was bad to curse but I was flabbergasted, so I drove over there and what came next was genuinely unbelievable. I arrived and asked for my order and Ebraheem said "I was going to make your order, but since you cursed at me, I'm not going to. Would you like it if I called you a bitch and told you to get out or I would call the cops?" That is an INSANE thing to say to a customer when literally all I said was "I don't give an f-" I didn't call him anything or even shout, and I get called a bitch and threatened to have the cops called on me? What's worse is other employees were more than willing to make my sandwhich but Ebraheem would not let them. He said he won't make me the sandwich OR even give me a refund. He said he'll "work on getting me that refund on monday." It's saturday night right now, by the way. I feel robbed. I have no idea if they are going to ever give me a refund. I feel disrespected. He called me a bitch and threatened to call the cops. Absolutely insane. This is probably the most insane customer service experience I've ever had at any establishment in my entire life. read more

The staff working at this location from 8pm to 10pm could benefit from retraining in the areas of customer service and food handling. The Black male working the food service counter this evening that identified himself as the manager and refused to provide me with his name or the name of the store/general manager, smushed the bread of the sandwich he was attempting to make for me into the counter as he verbally berated me for inquiring about additional charges to my sub: Overall the staff looked like they were forced to be there against their will and it was clear that 8:30 pm they were either attempting to close early or deter current and potential customers from ordering so that they would not have to work and could continue to close early. I asked one of the female workers if they were closing early since it was only 8:30 pm and they'd already emptied the self-service strawberry and classic lemonades as if it were no longer available for purchase. I walked into the downtown Broadway location at 9 pm this evening and not only was there classic and strawberry lemonades STILL available for purchase AND self-service, they informed me that their lemonade would be available for purchase and service until their doors lock and their lobby empties out. I called the Old 63 location TWICE and asked to speak with a manager and was informed by the late evening/night staff (once by a female workers, and the second time by a male worker) that "it is against the HIPAA laws" to provide a customer with the name of a manager. The guy behind the counter aus jus you in a clear ramekin with a non-matching white lid that did not stay on it (because it OBVIOUSLY wasn't made for it, not rocket science: it's colored to match, supposedly idiot-proof). I noticed once I was down the road and the whole car started smelling like aus jus. And I looked and realized it had all leaked out of the bag all over my seat and into every crack imaginable. Now my new car smells like beef and will probably forever. I brought it back in and asked them to explain, pointing at the matching lid that would've been the obvious choice. I placed an online order late at night around 1:15am when the place closes at 2am. I was surprised to see they were open that late on a Sunday (since most other food places were closed) but thankful as I had just finished my bartending shift at a local restaurant and was starving. My friend went inside to pick up the order and was informed they were out of meatballs for the sandwich but offered to replace it for any other item and the additional sandwich chosen was made promptly. While Pickleman's may be a bit pricey for a sandwich shop, you definitely get what you pay for. The food they serve is top-notch. I am pretty picky when it comes to the way I like my sandwiches made, and at Pickleman's they are always willing to make your sandwich however you like, with no eye-rolling or grunting. In addition to being delicious, the facility is absolutely spotless. Floors, counters, and tables are always clean. The staff is extremely friendly and quick, too! Delivery never takes too long at all. The only complaint I have with the business is that they used to forget items when delivering. They always corrected the mistake, and recently I haven't had any problems at all. If you haven't tried Pickleman's yet and you live in Columbia, it is DEFINITELY worth it. This is usually one of my favorite places to go for a quick meal. Their food is solid as I enjoy both their pizzas and sandwiches. In my last visit the experience was ruined by terrible service. The workers seemed stressed to the max and I could tell they didn't want to be there. What resulted was 2 messed up orders out of 3. The pizza we ordered was very under cooked and the workers asked us what the standard toppings were for our sandwiches because they didn't know what goes on them. As well as it taking nearly 10 minutes to get our food when it is usually less than a 5 minute process. Very disappointed in this visit. read more

However, Jimmy Johns, Potbelly's, and Subway are better in terms of price and quality. I have been ordering from pickleman's for the past 4 years and would recommend to all if you are looking for a good sandwich or thin crust pizza. Their delivery time is always between 35-45 minutes and will be longer towards the end of the night when people are getting out of the bars. it is very comparable to potbelly. We pulled up at 1 and asked if they were open and he told "technically until 2" with the rudest tone and gestures and then proceeded to make up wait inside until he decided he was done with his break. The Asiago Chicken sandwich is fantastic and worth ordering while the Asiago Chicken pizza is tasty but greasy. The sweet tea is also top notch and the touch screen soda machine makes it possible to create an Arnold Palmer. Pickleman's is better than Jimmy John's but a tad expensive. The sandwiches are really good... I've gone here more times than i care to count. It's been one of my favorites. So picklemans, i say this with love, but this place has the worst delivery service. Every single time i've ordered delivery, i've either waited an obscene amount of time or my order has been screwed up. I waited over 2 hours for a sandwich once. Also, they dont have those sleeves to put the pizza in while they deliver it to keep it warm, so pizza shows up at room temperature. Also, they recently changed up what toppings go in their salads, but didn't update them online or in the store, so the salad you order will have different toppings. read more

The employees and manager were also rude to one another and to the customers! When I was checking out, I tried scanning my loyalty app and it didn't work. After multiple attempts, the employees and manager had no idea how to fix it. This isn't my first terrible experience at this location. The receipt was printed at 11:50am. Delivered at 12:10am. Their food would probably be great if it hadn't been sitting out that whole time. Today was grilled cheese and tomato soup.
