Oh Shakespeare Pizza, how you have captured my heart... let me count the ways!…read more -Let me preface this by saying I'm new to town, and have only lived here a little over a month.- Out and about DoorDashing the other day around lunch time, an order took me into Shakespeare. I found a metered parking spot a little ways up the road and walked down. All the parking for Shakespeare I believe is metered on the main road... so bring some change! I walked in, told them the name I was waiting for, and stood off to the side. Suddenly a woman walked up to a glass window to my left, and started getting slices of pizza that I didn't even know was there! Next thing you know my grumbling stomach and curiosity had me waiting in line and I couldn't resist $3.99 a slice!! I ordered a veggie and a Canadian bacon / pineapple. The crispy crust, bright flavorful sauce and melty cheese won me over. I was determined to bring my 14-year-old son and to try some! Fast-forward to tonight. About 8 o'clock we went in to grab a few slices so he could try it! I really like the vibe inside as well... all wooden and dim makes it feel like the nostalgic pizza places of my childhood. Unfortunately, they only had pepperoni and cheese, and instead of it being fresh in the lineup on the counter like it was before, they reheated it I believe, from their leftover supply in the back. Was it good? Yes. Was it as good as lunch time? No. Will I still be back at lunch time another day to get more? Absolutely. As of right now, Shakespeare is my favorite pizza place in town! And nothing beats their pizza by the slice during lunch. Until then, I'll be dreaming of just how beautifully crispy and not...floppy... that crust is!

They were glad to do it as long as I didn't say Go KU haha My buddy and I ordered the Masterpiece which was basically a Supreme pizza that had been recognized my Good Morning America. We also ordered garlic bread. The garlic bread came out first and it was all right. It was soft which is important to me but it could have had a little more cheese or garlic on it. The Masterpiece was delicious. Pizza doesn't love me as much as I use to love pizza. But I had no trouble throwing down 4 slices with the sweet taste of extra sauce that I asked for. Definitely nostalgic and definitely great pizza and somewhere you should go in Columbia.

They burned the crap out of one of the kids pizzas, but as I want to get the kids to bed before midnight, I didn't dare call them out on it. Kicker is they weren't that busy as there was zero foot traffic for the last 15 minutes of that half hour and only 5 walk-in orders total in the full 30 minutes. We all used to enjoy MOD and were shocked to hear of the locations closing. Now, I hope the rest of them shutdown before they go from a fond memory to a good riddance for every former fan.

If you want pizza fast, hot, and delicious, then you're hitting up the right place. I've eaten at Gumby's for years, both in store and delivery, and I've yet to be disappointed. They deliver as fast, if not faster, than other restaurants during the late nights on Friday and Saturday, and the staff has always been extremely helpful and kind, even during the rush hours! In store has an excellent bar with cheap prices, and a relaxed atmosphere with a jukebox and pool table. Food never takes more than 20 minutes when you order in store, and the only time I've had pizza delivery show up any later than 45 minutes was during the busy late night rushes (from 1am-3am), when I had been warned that the wait time was 45-hour. Gumby's is a tradition with some people in town, especially college students, and it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place that doesn't get enough recognition. Get some pizza in your pie hole. Especially the Uncle Jesse. It's the best. read more

Gumby's has the best gluten free pizza in town. Good crust, flavorful toppings. Shakespeare's crust is pretty good but their toppings are totally bland....Pizza Tree has amazing toppings but the gluten free crust has been hit and miss. Gumby's is the best of both worlds - they have tasty toppings (slightly less creative than Pizza Tree but 4.5 stars for excellent execution!) and yummy crust every time. I'm surprised that they don't have better reviews on here. My only complaint is that Gumby's could work on their delivery/carryout system. When you order in, it's perfect, but if you order ahead of time or have it delivered, they don't do a good job of keeping the pizza hot. read more
