My friend and I have ordered pick up from this location a few times. Each time they been spot on- food has been ready at the designated time and the orders have mostly been correct. The only thing they sometimes forget is the cup for a fountain drink. Other than that, this has been a solid location. It is very busy though so make sure to give yourself some time! read more

WOW!! Unbelievable.... I'm done with this location. It's the worst I've ever experienced. Today was the last. Sara at drive through took my order. While handing her may credit card I started to say my number. She didn't ask either. She put her finger up and said wait. After that she walked off and fixed my oatmeal. Another employee walked up and stop to talked to Sara while looking at me. Sara's back was turned. The other employee then took my order from Sara abs handed it through the drive through window. No receipt and walked off. I parked and walked in. I asked for manager. Took awhile for her come. Another front end employee walked up and asked what happened. I told her. She then looked surprised and said "the white girl? I said her name is Sara. Judy the manger finally came out. I explained to her what happened. I usually love Panera bread because the food is fresh and healthier than most fast food. Today however I was very disappointed. My niece ordered a half sandwich and salad and the half looked more like a fourth. My Italian steak and mozzarella was delicious but the advertised special ( 3 pack of Brownie cheesecake bites) was not available. I tried to ask why not and was only told we don't have them. I tried to ask if they were getting more and was told not today. I asked about later in the week and the answer was I don't know. I'm writing about the Panera at the Arboretum in Charlotte. Last week I ordered a breakfast sandwich with avocado added. They said there would be an up-charge,, which is fine. When I got home, the receipt showed the up-charge ... the sandwich did not show the avocado. This was the 2nd time this happened. First time, I let it go. This time, I called. All I wanted was a refund for the avocado I did not get. But I was told they couldn't do that and my only option was to come back for another sandwich. So i did. At the window, I spoke to the manager (Kristina, I think). I questioned why I could not get a refund over the phone. She said it was because the employee I spoke with was not a manager. I asked why he didn't call a manager and she said "here's your sandwich". I asked if she could refund me at the window. She said they already made the sandwich and that was that. I called corporate when I got home. The very nice customer care rep said he was filing the complaint the proper division (not sure who, but he sounded sincere). I asked if he could refund me the cost of the avocado (it's really all I ever wanted) but he could not (made sense). Instead, he put a gift card on my app (that works). I also told them that none of my orders from the past 3 months are showing up on my app (last was 8/8, out of town). Is anyone else noticing this? read more

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a fruit cup. It cost over $4 and was about half a cup! Last weekend we tried Panera again. I ordered a large soda and paid almost $4 for that. I filled my cup, only to find out that the soda was completely flat! It turned out that they were completely out of CO2. I spent good money on something I couldn't drink. My experience at Panera wasn't as unpleasant as many other experiences reflected on Yelp. The place was relatively clean, spread out, quiet, and a smilier layout as other Panera's. I came at 7pm, and you could tell they were out of a lot of menu items, including the kind of bread for the sandwich. The order came in fast but was not as delicious as what I get from other places, mainly because the chipotle mayo sauce on my Chipotle Chicken Sandwich was overpowering and TOO much, dripping from the sides of the sandwich. I've visited this location twice, and I've had a less than adequate experience both times. The dining area is always a complete mess, and the tables are wobbly and sticky. The first time I visited the Arboretum location, I went through the drive through and was met by a rude staff member. When she received my card, she loudly yelled "Ma'am, your card declined." I told her that I wasn't sure how that was possible and asked her to run the card again. She rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath. When my card worked the second time, she practically threw it back at me. I waited at the window for about 5-10 minutes for my food to arrive, and when I finally got it, the sandwich I had ordered was cold. The second time I visited, my sandwich was moist and had tomatoes when I asked for them to be off. At least their water's free. read more

It took me calling NINE times to even get anyone to pick up the phone and the resolution was come get my sandwich and a gift card for another sandwich. The manager barely apologized and didn't even offer to deliver the order even though Panera has delivery. When my husband picked up the order the manager refused to speak with him and gave us no gift card. His employees shared that he also treats them poorly - shocking! His excuse by phone was they were busy, but I called from 2:15 - 2:35 without anyone picking up and when my husband walked in the place was empty. I am very sad to report I will probably avoid Panera in the future. We stopped here for lunch with our 2 year old granddaughter. When we got our food sadly the grilled cheese we got for our granddaughter arrived with burned cheese on the inside and pretty much just uncooked or "grilled" on the outside. My husband took it back and the manager brought out a new one which had unmelted cheese and was made with the heel of the bread. Needless to say our toddler didn't want it. They did give us back the money for the grilled (or not grilled) cheese and a pick 2 coupon (I did not get what I had ordered). Coupled with our last visit to a Panera in the Chicago area in which I had hair in my breakfast sandwich which made me avoid Paneras for many months I would say find a better lunch place. Pretty decent Panera. Not keen on the location, though the store runs very well. They're efficient and accurate with their orders, and there is plenty of seating both inside and out. Well, dang apparently I keep ordering off the healthy, save the whales menu or something cause these portions are small. I went through the drive through and ordered "soup" and it was good but came into store this visit and got disappointed. Now if I weighed 114 lbs or I was working on my yoga I would be perfectly happy. But no, I'm not a yoga instructor and need adult sized portions for 200 plus XL size appetite but this "combo" is on a size too small for even some children. So, don't think getting a "combo" with "half" of anything is a decent size meal. It's a "healthy, save the whales, great for yoga students" size meal. I was ready to attack an animal when I left, in other words, I was still hungry. Luckily, there was a burger joint near by. If you come here make sure to get "full" portions! Can't give them many more stars because the grill cheese and soup was smaller than my hand. atmosphere inside is nice but only two tables had a power plug close by for phones and laptops. Good place for coffee but asking for water will get you a cup perfect for only kindergartners so get a coffee or drink instead. The biggest flaw is when you order your food, you pay right there and they ask you on the pin pad if you would leave a tip. That's a huge flaw, first I can't predict how service will be ahead of time and more importantly, after receiving my meal there was ZERO service and had to empty my own dishes. Maybe that's why they ask for a tip first because with zero service , I wouldn't leave one. Really there are many better sandwich shops that offer more food, a better value and way better service than this place. I won't return and don't recommend coming here. read more

We love this Panera, my bf frequents it daily to grab a salad for me, and they go over and beyond (Tony is so wonderful she always has the biggest smile on her face and makes sure my salads right and genuinely cares and is such a wonderful person) to make sure that theres plenty of the extra toppings I love, and certain substitutions I get, always comes out correctly. Amy is so sweet and kind, my bf raves about how great her customer service is. Thank you Panera:) Especially thank you to Toni and Amy, who are amazing employees and always doing their best and being kind at the same time:) The only reason 4 stars is because of them(they r 5 star) and would be 5 at Panera as Panera but the bad ingredients, I pick bad lettuce and hard pieces out of at least 1/3 of the bowl, and this isn't on ppl who work there, this is on whoever buying produce and checking the produce and letting terrible lettuce go out, and I've seen that in the past reviews... For the prices of Panera they should be using high quality ingredients they lettuce should be green not yellow and fresh, should be all "Core" pieces. It's really terrible it will be the reason we don't come back, not the service. Both times I have had to wait over 15 minutes for my bagel when there are very few people in the restaurant. Each time I had to go to the register to ask about my order.
