I was looking for some vegetarian options this week, and I decided to go to Panera. I went during late afternoon so the line was not too long, although it can be at this location. I ordered a pick 2 with their Caesar salad without chicken and a cup of tomato soup. I love their Caesar salad, and this time was no different. I've never had their tomato soup before, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. The staff there are always very friendly, even when they are busy! They all followed COVID-19 safety protocols, and they even make us wait 6 feet apart. UAB takes these protocols seriously. My biggest complaint with this location is that it is not compatible with GrubHub for students to use their campus money on the go. I'm not sure if all of their packaging is recyclable, but the food comes in a recyclable paper bag. Overall, my experience at this location was pretty good! read more

Panera Bread is in fact fast food and this location is also on campus, so the bar is already pretty low. I'm still giving it a 3 star rating because their pastries are always so dry and cold. If they just popped it in the microwave for a few seconds... instantly 4/5. I ate the chocolate croissant as a mid morning sweet treat. It was crumbly and tasty but I do wish it was freshly warm. I ordered at the counter and had a lovely interaction with the cashier. Service was splendid! The ambiance was slightly rushed and chaotic given the students running around, but it adds to the college campus experience so that's fun sometimes. One thing I appreciate about Panera bread is their transparency with the macros. They might be bad, but at least you know! read more

Panera Bread - Almond Pastry, cinnamon roll, Chocolate Croissant, etc - Salad Near Me - Birmingham, Alabama

I stopped by the Panera Bread at the Hill Student Center for a quick meal to take home with me after class. There was not much of a line when I got there, so I was able to place my order rather quickly. The cashier gave off an inviting energy and was efficient in taking my order and payment. Despite the short line, there were quite a few people waiting for their food, so I did not expect to get my order super fast. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt, which came out hot and was quite tasty. That said, I would recommend Panera if you are on campus and want a nice, hot meal delivered with friendly customer service. Keep in mind, it is a college campus, so be prepared for potential wait times depending on how busy they are and if you plan on sitting down to eat, you might have some trouble finding a spot and the ambience might be a bit loud. Overall a very good experience! read more

Most days I'm on campus I decide to go to Panera Bread. Very convenient location as well as usually fast service. The location being in student hill center is pretty convenient and close to almost everything. Their food is clean and filling. Their customer service is nice and efficient. I normally order a chipotle chicken avocado melt. It's definitely one of my favorite sandwiches. I personally think this is one of the best restaurants on campus. For a campus restaurant I think it's a great choice. Can't go wrong with Panera bread even if you're just getting an order of Mac and cheese. I also enjoy their passion papaya iced green tea. I don't normally like sitting in hill student center as it's almost always busy and crowded. Rather I normally get take out and either sit outside or meet my friends in Sterne after. Definitely recommend if you're looking for something filling and tasty. read more

Yesterday, I dined at Panera on campus after my class at around 11 am in the morning to get a filling bite to eat close by that's not Asian food or just fried chicken. The lady who greeted me was nice but short as she has to get through a bunch of orders for a lot of students and faculty. I ordered the pick two option which was the half chipotle chicken avocado melt and the half broccoli and cheddar soup with a small water. The length of the wait time was about twenty minutes which was a bit annoying but understandable. The sandwich was pretty hot with lots of chipotle sauce layered inside it. The avocado and cheese pull was really nice as well. The bread was a bit hard to bite into, however, the other ingredients in the sandwich made up for it! The broccoli and cheddar soup was warm but rich, especially with the bagel dipped into the soup. After about half an hour I was done with my meal. I really appreciated the eco friendly utensils used with the Panera order as it made recycling easy for me since the hill does a good job of promoting sustainability. The area I dined at was a bit dirty since there is not always staff cleaning up behind students, but it was comfortable to complete schoolwork in without too much distraction. read more

After class, I chose to stop by the Panera Bread at the Hill Student Center on UAB's campus. I hadn't eaten there in quite a while so I was excited to see the new items and how the place has kept up! It was busy (as usual) but I received my food pretty quickly. I noticed they have a screen in the waiting section that lets you know the status of your order which I found convenient! I ordered their seasonal potato soup and a grilled cheese. The potato soup stayed warm for my 10 minute walk back to my apartment which was great! And the soup and grilled cheese were delicious! I had a great experience at this location and will be looking forward to coming back. read more

I ordered from the UAB Hill Student Center Panera on the app. I like the easy of ordering on the app, I ordered it earlier in the day and set the time I will be stopping by and my food will be waiting on me. It is also super easy to ask for anything special in your order and you earn rewards and they have challenges that make using the app fun and saves you money. I ordered the value duet Smokehouse BBQ chicken sandwich and tomato soup for $6.99. The tomato soup is thick and creamy and comes with fresh croutons, the sandwich was served warm and the bread is crunchy. read more

I was looking for a good, filling sandwich for lunch while I was on campus, so I decided to go to Panera Bread. They had a few vegetarian options, including sandwiches, soups, salads, and a lot of pastries. I decided to get the Toasted Caprese Focaccia, which was overall a decent sandwich, but nothing special. I went through a pretty busy time, and I still didn't wait for my food as long as I thought I would have to, which, in the past, I've waited a while. The location is in a food court-like setting, with a bunch of other food places around it. I'd say it is definitely a very fast-paced environment, and I think the quality of service reflected that. The customer service was nice, but very to the point and quick. With how busy it is, you do have to be attentive to your order and when it is called out, because it will just sit there if you don't hear it being called out. My order came out correctly and was fairly priced. Obviously, compared to an actual Panera Bread, it's not as great; however, for being a smaller, campus food place, I'd say it's a good option if you are craving a sandwich, soup, etc. read more

I visit this Panera often because it is my favorite UAB restaurant to spend my dragon cash. On this occasion, I ordered a whole roasted turkey and avocado BLT with chips. The cost was $12.19 plus tax, which brought the total to $13.41. Although the price is a little high for a sandwich and chips, I will say it was worth it. The only other Panera I have visited is the one by my house, and they do not give you as much turkey and avocado as the UAB location, but the price is the same. Because of this, I am not upset about the price. After placed my order, I waited for around 6 or 7 minutes before receiving my food. It was a little busy at this time, so I do not think that it was a long wait time. There are no COVID precautions. Using the rapid pickup would be a good option to get in and out quickly, but you cannot use dragon cash or dining dollars when you order online. read more

After my class ended, I decided to head to the Panera Bread that is located at UAB's Hill Student Center. I typically order the chipotle chicken avocado melt and a strawberry lemonade. The chipotle chicken avocado melt consists of smoked pulled chicken, avocado, chipotle sauce, cilantro, cheese, and these small red peppers that are all sandwiched between 2 slices of focaccia bread. This is one of my favorite foods on the menu and I liked the strawberry lemonade too. The service is just ok,, it's not the best but it's not the worst either. Since the Panera here is pretty busy, there is usually a long line of customers which takes a while for me to receive my food. Other than that, the food is excellent and the location is good since it is located on campus. read more

After a long day of classes, I decided to grab an early dinner at Panera at the Hill Student Center. I enjoy seeing their seasonal menu changes as they help me out when trying new foods instead of eating the same meal every time. I noticed when I went, there was a new recipe option for the Toasted Garden Caprese, which I immediately asked about. The bread was toasted sourdough with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and arugula with a balsamic drizzle and garlic aioli. I ended up getting the sandwich with a small cup of tomato soup on the side. I placed my order as a takeout order, and it was packaged securely. The croutons for the soup were placed in a separate bag, which I appreciated. The sandwich itself was amazing; I thoroughly enjoyed this new recipe as, at one point, their caprese sandwiches had a romaine lettuce blend, which I was not a fan of, so I enjoyed the arugula blend much better. The soup was also amazing and stayed warm after a 10-minute drive home, which was convenient. The toasted garden caprese had the option of being a half or whole, and I ordered a whole, which was $10.19, and I ordered a bowl of tomato soup, which was $8.89. Overall, I think the price is justified for the meal given that I ordered the larger options and I could get two "meals" out of my order. Additionally, the food was amazing, and I would definitely order from this location again. read more

For lunch today, I had the pleasure of eating at Panera Bread in the UAB Student Hill Center. I am a reoccurring customer there and today I ordered the Spicy Fiesta Chicken. It's a grilled chicken sandwich with salsa verde sauce, cheddar cheese, red peppers, and cilantro. And although Panera has an excellent selection of foods on its menu, the Spicy Fiesta Chicken is easily my favorite item on the menu. I also ordered a caramel latte which was also delicious and energizing. Although Panera Bread is on of my favorite restaurants to eat at, I do have some critiques. First, it takes a while for the food to come out which causes a large number of people to gather by the "Pick Up" station. Secondly, the cost of food and drink is relatively high. Other than that Panera Bread, located in the UAB Student Hill Center, is an excellent fast casual restaurant that I would recommend to everyone! read more

Since Panera has temporarily stopped serving soup, I haven't really been dining there, but the roasted turkey and avocado blt I ordered with no avocado wasn't particularly tasty. The food is generally alright on campus, but it's truly at its best when the manager is around. read more

For me to not eat on campus very much, I decided to give panera a try today. I originally came for the chicken and wild rice soup and disappointed to find out they sold out after waiting in line for about 20 minutes to order. So I stuck with a pick 2 or the chicken noodle soup and ceased salad instead. Food was okay, I've had better from different panera locations. Covid precautions here do not exist based on how tight and cramped everybody was waiting to order or pick up their food. I was able to get my food faster then how I ordered but if you're looking for something quick, panera may not be the best spot. read more

This Panera bread has definitely made a 360 improvement. Amazing what being open for over a year now in this location has done for their establishment. They have now become one of my go to breakfast places and a great place for pastries/baked goods. From employees not knowing what I'm talking about when I'm ordering to now almost always having my orders correct and waiting for me when I use the rapid pick up feature. I'd been having a few great visits in a row where my items waiting for me, but today I ordered a kitchen sink cookie (the best cookie ever) about an hour before close. When I got there, I was told they ran out. Yep...it's that good. I was told some of their bakery items run out closer to the end of the day. Makes sense since they probably don't bake more than one batch a day. Sometimes the app will tell you when an item is out of stock, but I've had two times now where it didn't and I had to choose an alternate dessert since I already paid for it on my app. So I got not one but TWO cheese Brittany's to enjoy after the workers were so sorry I couldn't get my first choice. They were super nice, and I would recommend going earlier in the day to get the pastries you want! I was told some of their bakery items run out closer to the end of the day. Makes sense since they probably don't bake more than one batch a day whereas a sandwich or salad they can make pretty much any time on the spot. read more

I've been ordering online from this Panera location for a couple years. Ordering online allows me to skip the line & get my food in a timely manner. The food is good for the price, however, no utensils are put in the bag. It's a bummer considering I have to hunt down a spoon in the Hill Center cafeteria. This location seems to have a good ordering system going. I will continue to order until I graduate this spring. read more

I must admit I am thrown off by the way this location has a truncated menu compared to other locations. In addition, I am further thrown off by the fact this location has shortened its menu due to COVID-19 regulations. However the staff does follow the remainder of their COVID-19 regulations such as wearing masks and social distancing from both coworkers and customers. I got the pick 2 which is probably one of the best deals compared to the astronomically high prices on this menu. I ordered half broccoli Mac n Cheese and half of a BBQ chicken sandwich. However, I did notice that the sandwich was far smaller than the majority of the other sandwiches on the menu and the broccoli Mac n Cheese is essentially just their broccoli and cheddar soup with the addition of a couple noodles (far less than if you would order a regular mac n cheese from the menu). read more

Ah Panera! Bringing healthy(ish) options to the UAB Student Center since 2016! C'mon. Our options are BBQ and Asian Fusion things. Obviously I'm gonna pick the soups and salads. Plus, I love that they show the calorie count so I can decide how unhealthy I want to be on different days. They have an order online option that I haven't used, but it looks pretty convenient. Avoid peak hours (12-1) or anytime class changes unless you want to spend a long time waiting in the line!! read more

I met a former co-worker for lunch. I had the "pick two" and ordered the Half Fugi Apple Salad with Chicken and a cup of Broccoli Cheddar soup. Today I ate at this location on campus. Panera Bread is one of the only places I eat on campus. I have been here for three years so I have gone through a lot of the menu. Recently I have been into the flatbread pizzas, so I will normally order that with a charged lemonade. For the sake of this assignment, I ordered a cinnamon crunch bagel with a caesar salad. I love their caesar salads and they have yet to get old for me. I would give it a 8 out of 10. As for my experience at the actual restaurant, It was okay. Some days the workers are friendly and other days not as much. However, I will be going back for that caesar salad soon. read more

Panera is one of my favorite spots to eat at on the UAB campus. This time I ordered a pick two, that included half of a chipotle chicken avocado melt and mac and cheese with broccoli, with a regular Dr. pepper. The sandwich was great, however, they gave me the original mac and cheese, so I went back and asked for them to change it, and they said they do not sell that at the location even though it was on their menu. I wish they had told me that when I ordered so that I could have asked for a different side with my sandwich. Other than that they were very polite about it and gave me my order in a timely manner since I was rushing to get a meal in between classes. read more

I went to Panera Bread in the Hill Center! I got a Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt with no peppers and a side of chips. This is one of my favorite sandwiches they have and it was very good! The line was quite long, but that is what I expected. The ordering situation isn't great but I don't think that is Panera's fault. Their food is always consistent and you can expect a good soup, salad, or sandwich. I think Panera is a little overpriced which is why I only gave them 4 stars. There weren't any COVID precautions besides the glass covers in front of the cashiers. I would recommend Panera to anyone;however, I would suggest they try a different location just because this one is always super busy! read more

I go to the Panera at the Hill frequently throughout the week as it's always easy to grab in between classes. I went this week during the lunch rush, so I was expecting a long wait time. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the promptness of my order. I got the new chicken sandwich that I have been meaning to try, and it lived up to all the hype I've been hearing. The only downside is that the Panera at the Hill is known to upcharge their prices, so I did have to pay more than I would at another location. There also aren't many COVID precautions in place. There is plexiglass between customers and the cashier, but staff do not wear masks behind the counter. The ambiance of the Hill Center is generally loud and bustling, especially during lunchtime! Overall, I liked my experience and will be returning! read more

The Panera in the Hill Student Center is in a convenient location if you need to grab something to eat while on campus. I decided to grab dinner after I got off work at 4pm and before my class at 5. Luckily, there was not a long line, which is unusual for Panera. I ordered a Frontega chicken sandwich with no tomatoes, with chips and opted out of a drink because I had brought a water bottle. The cashier was very friendly and took my order in a timely manner. I got my food relatively fast, waiting only about 7 minutes. This was great, because I only had about 30 minutes to eat and get to Ryals for class. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my sandwich. The chicken and cheese tasted hot and fresh. However, the bread was a little soggy because they had put so much sauce on it. They did get my order right by leaving off the tomatoes. The chips were also good and did not taste stale. In regards to COVID precautions, the cashier at the front register was wearing a mask. I was able to see a few people working in the back, and it looked like a couple of them were wearing masks, and some weren't. Other than this, there are no COVID precautions at the Hill Panera Bread. There is a small, distinct area where students stand to wait for their food and there is no social distancing here. There is an option to order online and pick up your food, but most students don't do this because you cannot use your dining dollars, etc. Panera does a good job regarding sustainability, as they gave out just enough napkins and the food in recyclable paper bags. Overall, this is a good option if you go at the right time when it's not busy! read more

I needed to grab a quick bite on campus, and I decided to swing by the Panera in the Hill Student Center. Around lunch time the line for the Panera is always packed, so I expected to wait for a good bit before ordering my food. It was kind of chilly, so I wanted to order a big bowl of soup, but unfortunately the Panera on campus has been out of their soup options all semester. So, I ordered the pick two option with half a bowl of macaroni and cheese and half of the smokehouse BBQ chicken sandwich. I got a baguette with my meal, but I opted out of getting a drink. The mac and cheese tasted good and was quite warm, but you can also kind of tell its not prepared fresh like other items are. I liked the smokehouse BBQ chicken sandwich. The bread was soft, but not soggy and the sauce ratio was just right, enough to add the flavor, but not enough to make the sandwich messy. The staff was friendly and the cashier working the front was wearing a face mask. I couldn't see everyone, but it didn't look like the staff members working in the kitchen had face masks on. Currently, there is no social distancing being observed in the Panera line, and almost always there are tons of students bunched together waiting to order/pick up their food. There is an option to order online and pick up your food at the counter, but unfortunately for students, Panera does not accept dining dollars for online pick-up. In terms of sustainability, Panera is doing alright by handing out orders in brown paper bags and wrapping sandwiches in brown paper. read more

The Panera Cafe located within the Hill Student Center has good food when they are not having stock issues. The last two times I have visited this cafe, they have been out of every soup alongside multiple other items when ordering on the app. This cafe is often experiencing shortages of various items. The line is very long and crowded which is not very covid friendly. Thankfully, they do still have the option to order in app and pick up. Following an order on the app, you fight through the crowd to try and get to the front to pick up your food, again not covid/flu season friendly. I will say, the food I receive is always up to par, and the staff is always extremely nice and this time was not any different. read more

I know Panera isn't considered a pizza spot, but when I saw they had flatbread pizzas on their menu, I knew I had to try. The service was great- the cashier was very helpfully and patient. That being said, there were only two options for the pizza flatbread- cheese and pepperoni. This being Panera Bread, a company whose marketing is around health, I expected an option with some sort of vegetables on it. I ended up ordering the pepperoni option. It came in a cardboard box. The pizza itself was just awful flavor wise. There was very little sauce and the cheese tasted like plastic. I do not recommend getting "pizza" here. read more

I chose to eat at this Panera in the Hill Student Center on campus on Friday after my last class of the day, around 1:15. As usual, I got the pepperoni and sausage flatbread. The flatbread costs about $10, which I think is a fair price. My flatbread was very good as it came out hot and fresh. I waited in line for much longer(~15 minutes) than I usually do for other restaurants, especially on campus. The service was good, nothing to rave about though. Honestly this is probably one of the worst services. First off I understand that's it's a college run business however it is close to the hospital and there are many people who aren't college students that go there. With that being said, there has been many times my order has been incorrect (literally one was messing up my bagel), I ordered a salad with chicken and they forgot the chicken. When I go back to get it correct, its usually brushed off. I've had an interaction with the manager once, I accidentally order my breakfast to the wrong panera. Instead of being helpful, she just brushed me off. Besides that it's a normal panera, the food is semi correct sometimes, the service will be completely subpar. read more

I also really enjoy the Green Goddess Cobb salad with chicken. My food comes out good and I have not experienced any problems. I ate Panera on campus for lunch today and got the Toasted Steak and White Cheddar with Mac-n-Cheese. I have always enjoyed the food, and this has been my favorite thing to get since they took away some items that I enjoyed my freshman year of college. Since they are on-campus dining, their atmosphere is pretty much subject to however busy The Hill is, which today it was not that busy so that was great! My only compl with Panera, which is not entirely their fault, is the wait. I know they are the most popular restaurant on campus, but I can't lie and say it isn't frustrating to wait 20-30 minutes just for them to mess up your order. After my classes on Friday, I decided to dine-in at the Panera Bread in the Hill Student Center for lunch. I arrived around 1 P.M., so it was a bit crowded at the time. Despite the crowd, my food was prepared in roughly 5 minutes, which was very fast. As for my meal itself, the sandwich tasted freshly out of the oven, was very flavorful, and was a great source of protein. The chips were also a great side that complemented the sandwich. With regards to the ambience, the employees were friendly and ensured that my food was made on time, which made my experience very pleasant. Their chips were my favorite part of the meal, and the sandwich was excellent as well. The cashier wore a mask in accordance with COVID procedures, but the other employees didn't, and there was no social distance between those waiting in line and those who were serving them. I do not go to the Hill Student Center very often, but between classes I was craving a salad to give me some quick nutrients. The food was given in brown paper bags along with plastic utensils and containers. I prefer something more biodegradable. Ordering my food was very easy and they were all following social distancing rules and wearing masks and gloves. Panera Bread at UAB is usually my go to place when I am on campus. This restaurant is located at one of the main buildings on campus and overall provides good service. It is difficult to give credit completely to the restaurant with keeping up with COVID guidelines because it is associated with a university and its policies. However, the employees are always wearing masks and have adjusted to a new way of serving their customers. This location is good at getting the orders out quickly to the customers and in making sure everyone receives the correct order. Because this Panera Bread is located within a university, there is not a designated area assigned to this restaurant for dine-in so I would classify this location as carry-out. My go to order is a caesar salad with grilled chicken on top. Most of the time, this item on the menu is really good and enjoyable but in my circumstance, the vegetables did not seem the most fresh. In terms of sustainability, the salad came in a plastic box, which isn't the best option. However, I do appreciate how there is a range of things to choose from as a side - apples, bread, chips, etc. It really gives the customer the choice to be healthier. Overall, Panera's service is great but the freshness of their food is lacking sometimes. read more
