We went to check out Panera Bread today as it is conveniently located in the mini mall next to Albertson's on Commonwealth. We ordered the Challah and the kitchen sink cookie. The person at the cash register did not know what I was ordering when I said "Challah". She seemed genuinely confused. When we got our stuff the bread tasted like wheat and not eggy. The kitchen sink cookie was very good if you like a lot of different flavors in your cookie ranging from chocolate to peanut butter to coconut sprinkles. It is $4 though so I don't know if I would get it again. As we were driving off my daughter said to me,"I think Challah is supposed to be braided". So we looked it up and sure enough our bread did not look like Challah. Eventually, we drove back and talked to the manager. They were very nice and replaced our bread even though we did not have a receipt. I think that they had the bread in the wrong slot. The Challah bread is very good, not too sweet with a nice chewy texture. We will go back to try the lunch items some time. As far as parking we didn't have an issue finding parking in the lot. Panera Bread is located right near Costco and Albertsons. The inside is a nice, mellow, calm and refreshing area. The outside is nice and relaxing as well. Freshly baked bread waiting to be taken home or eaten their. They also have a nice selection of Teas, Coffee, Sweets and sandwiches. Also soup and salad and mac n' cheese. Pricing is ok I guess. I hopped on the free coffee train and signed up for the free MyPanera coffee subscription back in July. I stop by whenever I can. Coffee is pretty basic here but does its job. The iced coffee is great on a hot summer day. Going in and out for Rapid Pickup is a breeze. They can either bring out your order or you can go in and grab your order. If you go in, there's a one-way path to the shelves where you pick up your order. You continue on the one-way path and exit through another door. Great for anyone in a hurry and great for these unpredictable times. read more

I've frequented this location at least a dozen times since the Grand Opening. Never been inside only utilize the drive thru.. have had no problems with my orders. I loved Panera. Panera always gave me this feeling of butterflies that I've made it. No idea how that got ingrained into my head, but after this experience, that feeling is long gone. Bagels are still good, but my gosh, I really wish their service was better. COVID review-- I came for the Tuesday bagel deal. Ordered for pick up via app at 7am in the morning so I can beat the rush before work. Walked in right on the dot. There was 1 lady in front of me taking her time choosing her pastries. No worries, go ahead and enjoy your social interaction during this pandemic. I keep my distance but walked around the lobby area to make sure I'm keeping my distance. I noticed they did a good job of blocking off majority of the store, pretty standard COVID stuff. After about 10-15 minutes lady is finally done ordering. She gets her order and leaves. Lady behind the registers disappears finishes up the cashier and then goes to the back. I'm thinking maybe she has more orders in the back to take care of, no big deal. I wait in the lobby some more. While I was waiting, another lady comes in and goes to the back. By now I've waited close to 20 minutes since entering and I'm growing impatient. I could've robbed the store and I don't think anybody would've cared. The lady who entered the store a few minutes ago, comes out to the front with her Panera attire and asked if I've been helped. I tell her, "No. I've been waiting for a while and I just want to pick up my online order of bagels." She goes to the sequestered side of the building behind some furniture to retrieve my sole order of bagels where "all the online pick up order is at". Gee thanks, lady. I know you just rushed in a few minutes ago, but where was the original lady who took her sweet time?? Went on a a Sunday morning drive through and it was quick and easy. Took about 10 min so that was good. I ordered the bowl of mushroom Soup and a grilled cheese for my daughter. I have been noticing on several occassions that the soups are no longer tasty like they once use too. About a month ago I had the over priced chicken noodle that really had no flavor and today I tried my once favorite chicken with wildrice soup and that tasted horrible!! Recently drive thru experience hasn't been good this week. Multiple mornings drive thru is closed due to short staff. Today I was told the window is broken and that they where fixing it. As I drove thru I only saw two employees and no one working on the broken window which makes me believe isn't true they are just short staff again. They should put a sign at the entrance of the drive thru if they aren't going to have it open. It's very inconvenient especially when you just want to get a drink. Panera management please hire more people it's not fair to your customers nor your current workers. read more

All the staff in this store is super friendly & efficient, always trying their 100% to put out customers orders as fast as they can in a quality fashion. Did the drive-thru and tried the new chicken sandwich. The person taking my order suggested the "Pick Two" option so I added the regular Mac and Cheese. It came with a drink. Total was $17+ and consisted of 6oz of Mac and Cheese and a sandwich where the brioche bun had been smashed down by the maker and didn't have all the ingredients on it that were listed by the order taker. I love Panera and was super excited when they opened close to my workplace. My first experience with this place was when my coworkers and I decided to order online. We got our food through rapid checkout, and went off to enjoy our meal in the office. Unfortunately, they forgot my sandwich from the You Pick Two combo. I was so annoyed knowing that I literally only have a 30 minute lunch, and had to drive back and forth for a tiny sandwich. They did offer me a 'treat' and declined because I was so annoyed. My second experience, personally, was okay. But this one employee was just very rude to the old man in front of me. She acted annoyed and raised her voice at him. The man was not deaf but just couldn't understand her explanation of the prices. This employee just doesn't know how customer service means. The very next day, I come back and it's her by the counter again. No good mornings nor a smile on her face. Now I know what it feels like to be working in that atmosphere, maybe worse with me since I worked at Baskin Robbins. But that is not how you welcome or treat a customer. I really wish they would allow you to rate zero stars because that's what this specific Panera deserves. First off when we ordered our large chicken salads we ordered extra and when I arrived home both salads where half servings. And then the croutons were soggy. I am not sure if these salads are pre packaged but for the croutons to be soggy, that's not okay. That means they were not fresh at all. When I asked the girl with the BETTY BOOP face mask if she could give me a small cup of dressing for our TWO large salads she said she had to go and talk to her manager. Ordered online and picked up my order at this new location. The pick-up is great as you do not need assistance and can just walk over to the section where all orders are placed. The fountain drink options look refreshing with a few juice and tea options. Came in during lunch hour and the line was not too bad for the time being. This location also offers drive-thru option to ease the lunch hour jams. My sandwich was delicious and fresh as it contained avocado. As for the pasta it was a little on the dry side yet tasty. Look forward to trying more of the options in the menu in the future. read more

My experience through the drive through was not the best. I placed my order, which the drive through attended didn't repeat back to me when I paid. I get home, and it turns out my order was not correct, and they charged me for an item I didn't even ask for. Make sure you have them repeat your order before paying.
