Panda Wok - Terrible Customer Service and Unacceptable Response I accidentally called the wrong restaurant to place an order. After realizing the mistake during the call, I immediately apologized and asked them to please cancel the order. They told me they couldn't cancel it because they had already run my credit card. I explained again that I had called the wrong restaurant and asked them to void the payment, but they said they didn't have access to do that. Instead of helping resolve the issue, they kept begging me to give their restaurant a try. I again requested that they void the charge and asked to speak with a manager. I was told there was no manager available. When I asked when a manager would be in, they said "in about a month." To make matters worse, they hung up on us. Completely unprofessional and very frustrating experience. I would not recommend dealing with a business that refuses to correct a simple mistake and treats customers this way. read more

It's standard Chinese American food, but we were bummed after the restaurant caught fire and closed for a while. This was a go to spot for things like wonton soup and our usual boneless spare ribs and combo plates. We've been ordering there again at the new spot on Littleton Rd, and the only complaint is the egg rolls. They were pretty mushy inside and kinda greasy. The brown rice grains were chewy and fresh. The ingredients in the soup were high quality. Any one can make chicken with broccoli, but Hunan Chicken is a true test. This was the worst Chinese food I ever had. Pork fried rice was yellow and no flavor. The beef and broccoli has a weird yellow sauce and the beef tasted like bologna. The dried sautéed string beans were ok but look like they had Italian dressing on them and just tasted off. The order price changed 3 times during the call after I questioned why it was $26 for A lunch special and a container of string beans. Got price down to $20. I hope some changes are made before they open up again. They started serving half of a chicken wing instead of the whole chicken wing, counting it as 1 chicken wing. They also started serving food in about 25% smaller containers. The lady in the front will always be rude. I can live with that, but charging the same for way as much as 50% less is a problem (ie. chicken wings). They would have been better off charging a little more and giving the same sized portions. I have ordered here more than I ought simply because they are local and family members have been going here out of habit. It's not that their food is bad but they price their items higher. On a recent visit my bill was $73.37 for three dinners and two fried rice and a couple of egg rolls with extra white rice in the side. Whilst I resented the price I didn't like it when the cashier waited as I fumbled in my pocket for the extra thirty seven cents! There is really not much going on in Parsippany. After driving around for a bit trying to track down a restaurant that apparently has gone out of business, I gave up and settled for strip mall Chinese. It had the typical setup too with an electronic menu overhead, a line of line cooks, a couple of refrigerators for drinks, and a few odd tables mostly for those picking up orders but also for those few who wish to dine in. I went with the Hunan Pork which was listed confusingly enough as a Szechuan specialty. Those provinces aren't near each other. The dish included straw mushrooms, green peppers, baby corn, broccoli, carrots, bamboo shoots, and of course pork. This was all dutifully served over a heaping mound of pork fried rice. The principal ingredient by far was broccoli. I easily pulled out a dozen before I could properly begin my meal. The vegetables were generally good. The pork was okay, but there was not much of it by comparison to the other ingredients. The black bean sauce was gloopy, a touch sweet, and noticeably not spicy. So definitely not a Sichuan preparation here. The pork fried rice was surprisingly lackluster too. Overall very filling, but not especially engaging in the flavor department. Basically, the place just offers up really Americanized Chinese food. For further proof, fortune cookies were up for grabs and chopsticks were only available upon request (they actually keep them behind the counter). A little more "New Jersey Chinese" style than Wok's - meaning a little greasier, a little more heavily flavored. Not a bad thing, just more what you expect when you go out for typical Chinese food as opposed to something truly authentic. I can't rate it 5 stars for that reason but it's by no means a bad place. This place has THE BEST PAN FRIED PORK DUMPLINGS in all of the US and Europe. Well ok, this might be a bit of an exaggeration...but dumplings are my thing. I've eaten dumplings in 63 cities and this place is in the top 5. They are crispy and doughy and the meat inside is so flavorful yet simple. I don't know how they do it. All of their soups are excellent. Their lo mein is also really wonderful - I usually get the chicken or the roast pork. I highly recommend their general tsos, chow mein, egg foo young, fried chicken wings, fried rice, chicken + broccoli and pork egg rolls. Honestly, these people know chinese food. The restaurant is not very fancy...but as we all know, the best places aren't. It's in a strip mall so there is always parking (after living in major cities this is a huge plus). I ordered the Ramen soup today and mostly through my meal, I found a finger nail. I wanted to call them to notify them of it as this is disgusting. The reaction was poor. I've ordered from here a few times but finally got fed up and decided not to give these people any more chances. Each time I ordered from them, the food was decent but they always screwed something up and had to send the delivery person to my house a second time to fix it. The first time I got white rice when I specifically ordered brown rice, the second time they forgot to add in my sweet and sour sauce to my sweet and sour chicken order, the third time I ordered a shrimp lo mein combination platter and instead just got the shrimp lo mein in a small individual box. The order was for delivery. The order-taker put me on hold several times and seemed to have difficultly getting the order correct. I ordered brown rice and got white; I try to eat whole foods as much as possible.
