I want to taser this place!!!! Or burn it down!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would. Get another restaurant in there. This place has given up and has no heart or soul left, it is as if they just don't care anymore. First time in this place and I order a 1/4 duck with vegetables and rice for 6.45. Great price. That is about all. The duck was reheated and not good at all. Tough, tasteless, and small pieces along with the leg. The vegetables were under cooked! Amazing but true. Some were cooked ok but most were under done. The rice was just ok. This place really pissed me off. The beat goes on with my record for the last few months. Most of the restaurants are just not putting out decent food. Have some pride people! I am wasting my money on these lousy joints!!! read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for years now. The hosting staff are familiar with us and always asks us how we or are family is doing. I usually come here for comfort food more than anything. read more

There was nothing spectacular about the decor of the place. It reminded me of a 99 cent Chinese food where most of the people order take out. I went there and tried the Pho since Panda is only 5 mins from my house. The broth wasn't the best I've had but I have also had worse. The size of the bowl was okay and the price was average. I didn't try anything else so I can only comment on the Pho and the service. The service was okay, didn't expect much since it is not a fine dining establishment. For the same price and sometimes cheaper I would recommend driving a little further west. Overall if you are really lazy to drive a little further and need a Pho fix, Panda isn't that bad. I would however prefer to drive somewhere else. Enjoy! read more

Great place for pho in lemon grove. The go to place for me and my son. Not the newest or trendiest place ,but their food hits the spot!!! read more

Came in on a Friday at 4, place was dead. Service was fast waiter was friendly and everything looked clean. There is about one million things to order from so come in with an idea or a craving. Ordered the thia tea with boba was tasty had a smooth taste. For the food I ordred shrimp in lobster souce with steamed rice. The rice was very dry, the shrimp and veggies extremely fresh. Food looked great but the the taste was maybe a 2/5. The soup lacked flavor as well the portion was ment for two. I will have to try their other meals to determine if they are worth higher rating. Not impressed at all read more

Food wasn't good. Had the garlic shrimp. .didn't have any taste. And the water tasted off. read more

I like this place, the food is good and the guy that owns this place is cool. The chicken fried rice is good and they give you so much.

Not Great... Not bad. OK price. Not so ok decor. I got the pho with rare steak, flank, and meat ball for lunch there and the kung pao chicken to go. There was more meat than other pho places as stated from C.B. The broth was simple and fine. I do not recommend the kung pao chicken. For the price, I recommend driving a little further to El Cajon Blvd anywhere between Fairmont and 54th. You will get better food for about the same price. This place however, made me curious about the Grille Chicken which was near by. read more

If I'm in this area?. I come here to get my(shredded cabbage) Egg Roll fix!...They come 4 to an order. Hot and Delicious!...Now, I can't tell you about any other foods they have, I come for that one item only !...I do however, see people taking carry out boxes during lunch time, when I'm over there! It's not a place that is usually crowded, and from the outside, you might mistake it for an old "bar" if you didn't know it was a Chinese food place! I myself think it's clean, enough. I HAVE seen worse, with lines out the door! Inside, It has the look of a restaurant from a by gone era, but nothing that a couple cans of paint, and a trip to Ikea couldn't fix! The service is a simple hello greeting w/a smile, 4 egg rolls?! I mean come on.. I don't need a "Red Carpet" for that!.... The guy was nice enough to make sure I wasn't bored while waiting the WHOLE 5 minutes, for my food. He promptly gave me a couple magazines just as I sat down, that was nice. Yeah, they could use an update, but momma always said " it's the thought that counts!"... So, If the rest of the food taste as good as the egg rolls? I just might go in one day, and order something else!...For right now?...$2-3?..That's NOT a bad price for an "on the go" snack!...Warning! They ARE a bit on the greasy side...being they come str8 from the fryer and all....But at least you know, they're not sitting up under a heat lamp! Go try em'! read more

I stopped in today after work because I was craving chopsuey. What I received with nothing like chopsuey up ever seen before . It looked OK but it sure wasn't chopsuey so I couldn't eat it. I also ordered egg rolls but those were just OK, bit of a fishy taste to them and I can't eat fish. I also agree that the smell as one walks into the restaurant is a bit overwhelming. The person who helped me was nice enough and took about 15 minutes, as he said it would, but I don't think I will be going back. read more

Very flavorful Pho. There is a distinct odor when you first walk into the restaurant and it also happened to be empty when I walked in, so I was tempted to turn around and leave, but I am glad I didn't, the food was really good, and after a few minutes the odor didn't bother me. Will return. read more

My mother and I love this place... Really great fresh food. Great service and cheap prices.

I've been here a few times now, I have to say the restaurant itself isn't the nicest but that's why I order takeout. I love the hot and sour soup, it's a bit more peppery then I'm use too and doesn't have any mushrooms or seaweed, which I wish it did but it does taste good. I usually order the orange chicken and it's pretty decent. The house chow mein could use a bit more shrimp but it was yummy. Overall it's ok, it's not horrible like I thought it would be from the other reviews. read more

So I tried putting in an order for delivery on a Wednesday evening... They told me it would be 1.5 hours or more... Then I could barely understand the guy on the phone... I found their menu online and it was very inaccurate, everything I wanted to order they didn't have. The man then got upset with me because he said I wasn't ordering right... So he hands me off to someone who still isn't understandable over the phone. He gets frustrated with me and tells me to just come in and order and wait for my food. So far I haven't even tried their food but I'm not impressed and don't have the urge to try it... I have also never heard of a legitimate Chinese restaurant that doesn't serve their dishes in some form of family style... I was told every entree was single person only he didn't understand why I wanted just the entree... Can I not give it a no star review read more

I haven't tried many things on the menu at Panda....but ya know, it's pretty good for a hole in the wall. Thus far what we've had there has been yummy, and I was happy to try my very first boba here last night, I had a very reasonably priced tempura roll, and I left with a smile on my face. Cheer up Lemon Grove. We're all in this together. read more

I love the service here and the great food. I come here for the wonton soup it's the best. The guy at the counter greets you as soon as you enter and helps with any questions you may have. Very great customer service. read more

Don't let the decorations taped to the lights fool you. This place offers a varied menu, big portions and cheap prices. I was a bit wary of trying it at first, but I was very pleased. You can actually taste the orange in the orange chicken, and the rice was yummy. read more

I ordered Chicken Chowmein and Orange Chicken. The Chowmein had a Burt taste to it and both meats had a slight freezer burn taste. Oh- and I got Sweet and Sour Chicken. This was our first and last visit. read more

Disgusting ! Food literally smells like it taste. the smell when you first walk in is a knock on the face. Food has little to no seasoning and the beef is over cooked and chewy the vegetables are distasteful. If you decide to go here I would recommend only getting the egg flower soup , wonton , and egg roll and that's it other than that this restaurant is terrible. read more

Love this place! Fantastic Orange Chicken and delicious egg rolls! Priced great :)

Super awesome food especially when you stick to the traditional!! Great delivery service. Have to admit my husband and I are picky eaters, we always prefer making our own dinner and when we decide to dine out or order in after a long day we are skeptical. They make a delicious shrimp fried rice and sesami chicken, their egg rolls are great too. Don't mind the wontons either! read more

I believe that all the one-star reviews are the result of unrealistic expectations. This is an inexpensive Chinese restaurant in a working-class suburb of San Diego and "inexpensive" is the operatve word here. You get what you pay for and, for what you pay, this place is quite acceptable. Try the vegetable egg foo young. read more

This place is an old style Chinese restaurant that's probably been here for decades. Most of the business seems to be for take-out although there has always plenty of open tables, the waiter has always been friendly enough despite me being the only guest seated. No a/c, but plenty of outlets ha! I like the half duck. read more

I would have normally given this 3 stars but you know what.. they have a VARIETY of asian dishes and unless someone can show me other places, there aren't many in my neck of the woods on top of THEY DELIVER!!! It's worth trying and the people are friendly.. you can't ask for more :) read more

Food here is mediocre. Ordered Beef Chop Suey, it has zero flavor, tasted like steamed veggies with bland beef, the sauce it had looked like brown water, it did not coat anything in the dish. Ordered Garlic chicken wings, we got drumettes. They were OK lacking garlic flavor. The only thing that was OK was the Shrimp Lo Mien. I thought the one thing they couldn't mess up were the fortune cookies, but they were stale. I completely agree with Nick T. Lemon Grove is lacking in anything culinary decent that isn't fast food. The only place in this town that has any food worthy of eating is Coop's. read more

I enjoyed an order of kung pao chicken. The dish was tasty and the price was just right. I would recommend this place to anyone who just wants a good Asian meal. read more

Dont believe everything you read. I called and asked if they deliver because it says they do on here and they said no. Don't say you deliver if you aren't going to do it. read more

I usually order delivery and food comes hot and pretty fast, considering I live a couple blocks away and deliver free with a $20 order. Food is pretty meh, pretty similar to something you would get at panda express, but their vegetable egg rolls are pretty damn good. chow mein is pretty good as well. I tried something different and ordered orange shrimp. it was so heavily covered in breading that i just started pulling breading off to find the shrimps, and they were tiny and overcooked from being fried. wont order that again. pretty inexpensive, and will never eat inside because it looks hella sketchy and has a weird smell. all in all, when im broke and want chinese i'll order here. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Ordered and waited, and waited, and waited. Two other people in restaurant dining in. I wouldn't do that. The inside looks and feels like an old Jack in the box, but dirty. A bunch of different handmade signs in other languages, none helpful to me. I ordered something simple. Kids wanted orange chicken, sweet sour chicken and I wanted spicy garlic veggies with chicken. What we got was orange muck probably from the same jug with hardly any veggies, and the blandest institutionalized garlic veggie chicken thing in the world. Nothing worth saving for later, barely had some the first time. While we were waiting the owner (?not sweaty guy that came out of kitchen with the food), was arguing with someone on the phone about location, either the restaurant's or possibly delivery address. After about 5 minutes on the phone he ended up shouting that he didn't understand person on the phone and hung up. Do they not know anything about customer service and business? The place was stuffy and stinky. The tables were sticky looking. Neglect was evident, which made me sad. I had come to this physical location when I was a child and it was magical. Red leather booths, each table with a Chinese lantern, dimmed but suitable lighting, and an aura of peace. The food was so delicious that I burned my tongue every single time we came because I could not wait for the egg drop soup to cool down. I know it's changed hands several times and they gutted it, but it makes me feel bad. I feel bad too because I know that they way they are going, this place too will be changing hands in the near future. But hey, maybe it will become the place we really want: nicely decorated, comfortable, hospitable, good service with great food. None of that found here. PS. Restaurants Take Notice: Stop using styrofoam containers. They leak, they're ugly, and they're bad for the environment. Chinese cardboard containers are what I want. I am now boycotting restaurants that use styrofaom. read more

The food and service was amazing. We order delivery and it arrived pretty fast. We ordered spring rolls, beef chow mein, chicken fried rice, chicken and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken and wontons. It all came out to be around 40 including tip. There was so much food we had enough for the next days lunch. Definitely going to order from here again. read more

Horrid smell once you walk in. I couldn't define exactly what it was, nor can I describe it, but it was overwhelming. The rice tasted old and as if it had been buttered to make up for how horrible it was. The carrots, onions, and pineapple in my sweet and sour chicken were uncooked. The chicken itself was bland and lacked flavor and the breading was soggy. The egg roll was pretty good, but does not make up for the rest of my meal. I will not be returning! read more

Love that they deliver. House fried rice rocks.Pho always good. Other reviews snipe at spelling errors, well, nearly 2/3 of the restaurants in San Diego have some spelling or grammatical error. Some snipe at the hole in the wall, some of the best food in town comes from little hole in the wall subtle restaurants. We will return. Would love it if they got their own website & listed a menu. read more

Food was decent. Service was not good at all. Since I am Asian, I get personally offended when I'm not even given the chance to get chopsticks rather than a fork. The waiter never came by to check on us. He was just sitting behind the counter the entire time watching something on his tablet with headphones on. He didn't even bother to take them off when he came to give us the check. There was also no body else there for dinnertime. I do realize that in the Chinese culture, servers don't check up on the customers often, but this was ridiculous to not even look like he is interested on the job. read more

Ok food, bad service, no decor. Good prices and they deliver.

Lots of flavor, many ingredients in one dish! - Wonton Soup: carrots, broccoli, baby corn, water chestnuts, shrimp, chicken, beef, zucchini, snow peas, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, wontons. First bite I took of the wonton, the dough seemed under-cooked, but that didn't bother me too much. And after one day in the fridge, it didn't have that dough-y taste! - Sweet and Sour Soup: carrots, pepper spice, tofu cubes, bamboo shoots. Super tasty! Really good to add rice to it, which also helps to cut down the heat from the pepper. It's a light brown color (just a heads up!). - Orange Chicken: deep fried chicken pieces, green bell peppers, onion, sweet orange sauce. The flavor is sweet, yet not too overpowering. I know orange chicken can be off-putting with the level of sweetness, and I think it won't be too sweet...yet I'm not sure for other people's taste buds. Some chickens seemed really deep fried (not sure if that's due to cooking to long, or re-frying it), but that was fine with me =) - Garlic Chicken: chicken, garlic pieces, veggies (I forget which kinds ~ I wrote this review after I ate it, and...I don't remember all the ingredients, sorry!). The garlic sauce went straight to the bottom, so eating it at first was slightly bland in garlic flavor, yet I got more of it at the bottom. Perhaps the sauce could be thicker, perhaps they can do more with the flavoring, but I think it's good as it is. Because the flavor's there...just...at the bottom =) - Kung Pao Chicken: onion, chicken, red pepper pieces, green bell peppers, carrots, peanuts, water chestnuts. My Mom got this one, and says, "I'm not a huge fan. It was good, but not spicy." I personally tried it, and thought the same thing. She said she wouldn't get it again (due to the non-spiciness), yet I would (because it still tasted good), so it's your call =) - Vegetable Fried Rice: rice, peas, carrot cubes, and other veggies (I forgot what kinds, and it's all eaten so...I can't look at it). I'm not sure what they used to make the rice brown, and I'm not sure what flavor it was...but the rice is brown (not because it's brown rice). It was good, though! Because of...whatever they used to season it. It doesn't have a powerful vegetable flavor, though, if you wanted that. - Fried Wonton Chips and Sweet and Sour Sauce (Free!): Some chips were more fried than the others, so they were hard...Perhaps if we ate in the restaurant we would have gotten a fresh, not-so-burnt batch, but I don't know.......still good though =) We got take-out (on Easter Sunday '13); took 20 minutes; not sure how customer service is, since I didn't go with my Mom to the restaurant; they give a generous amount of soy sauce packets, and fortune cookies; they provide forks, spoons, and napkins. I hope this helps! And next time I'll take pictures!! read more

I agree with Nick T. Please don't waste your time and money thinking you've found some sort of secret authentic cafe. I came on a Friday around 6 and only 2 customers at one table. You should know, it is pretty filthy. Should have realized what I would get as far as quality. I am a pho aficionado, and since they advertise it on the window, was craving some to take home. Please! The broth and meat was a nasty combo gruel of duck soup, duck skin, and tough beef of some sort. No true pho spices or flavor. The noodle was wheat,,,uggh,,, and precooked but not cooled for take out. No basil or cilantro, and the bean sprout they did include was old and dry. The broth had some sort of strange aftertaste, really salty. Hey why don't you just keep a smaller menu and stick to one cuisine and do it well? read more

Affordable real Chinese food. All around variety of Vietnamese and Japanese foods too.

Not your best Chinese food. Ordered fried rice and it smelled burned and tasted burned. Decor is cheap and tacky. Needs lots of work.
