They have a set up kind of like panda express where the food is already cooked, and it waits for you to order it. I got the 1. orange chicken 2. the sweet-and-sour chicken and 3. Lo mein noodles. Everything tasted like it had been sitting for a long time. I ate most of chicken except for the parts that were too hard to chew. I didn't eat any of the noodles because they tasted old, hard, and dry - They charge $.30 extra if you use a credit card. - no crab Rangoon or Wong tongs I wanted the teriyaki chicken, but didn't get it since they didn't have teriyaki sauce to go on it. The inside looks kind of rundown, there is limited seating. Sometimes the hole-in-the-wall feel is cool, but that wasn't what I was looking for. I cannot recommend, if you are choosing between panda express and Great Wall, go to panda express

This to-go box is packed. Picked up a couple of three item combo plates to bring back. * Half fried rice-Half lo mein noodles, with Orange Chicken and BBQ ribs * Half fried rice-Half lo mein noodles, with Kung Pao Chicken and Broccoli Beef. Using the Panda Express to Great Wall Express conversion table, the rice/noodle side counts as one item ;) The tiny parking lot and available curbside spots during daytime business hours would rival any Convoy St eatery. Very chill, quiet atmosphere as we were the only patrons during the early weekday lunch visit. Service was quick and friendly. Decent value whether your loading up on intake, fine with leftovers, and/or stretching out meals on a budget

My go to spot for party trays! I always get their jalapeño chicken party trays for events as they are delicious and well priced ($35.99 a tray is a steal!). Service is always accommodating and they accept preorders, just give them a call to place your orders.

Orange chicken, lo mein, and pork. Three item plate is $10.99 so it came to about $12 with tax.

I came here a few times years ago but then I was out of town for a few years. Happened to be in the neighborhood and ready to eat so I decided to stop by. Still very good! The ladies are very nice, it was clean and I saw them cleaning up after people as soon as they left. They kept the food stocked and I like being able to just point to the food and receive it right away. I've been here about three times in the past couple of months and everything I've had has been very good. As of June 2025 the prices are $3.99 per item and if you get a three item plate it is $10.99. That's the way to go. I always have leftovers too.

I love coming here right after my workout or when I get my nails done. The Chinese food is decent and the lady that helps me here is always nice. I love hot and sour soup and I always get that here. I'm a soup girly and it hits the spot every time. The small 12oz soup is $3.99 which is a steal! I'm literally here on a weekly basis!

$16.44 for two item combo and an order of two egg rolls

Good inexpensive Chinese food, if you arrive at 10:15am they are putting out piping hot freshly cooked dishes. East coast style Chinese food with 2015 prices. Generous portions.

Not what is useful to be. Been coming here for years. Raw ribs and no hot sauce. Disappointed today. Will not return

Update 8/03 Tried this place 2-3 more times and found it to be pretty inconsistent. The noodles tasted different every time and was no longer flavorful, the second time I ordered, they literally even changed the noodles to something similar to spaghetti? Depending on when you go, the orange chicken can be hard/taste like it's been left out for awhile.

The lamb biangbiang was extremely spicy for me, although I know I have a low heat tolerance. You aren't able to specify how much spice you want on your dishes and when you're ordering on the QR code and the menu doesn't tell you how spicy dishes are. I can't remember the name of the dumplings we got but honestly they were my favorite dish. My friends really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles, I just felt that they didn't have much flavor.

In our case, the chicken and shrimp came out first, then the lo mein, and much later, the green beans. All of the food was just okay. Nothing was truly a show stopper. I did not taste any honey or walnuts in the shrimp, just a lot of mayonnaise. The lo mein was the best dish of the night. We took some leftovers home in the cute packaging. The branding here is definitely a strong suit. As we were sitting on the patio, there was a steady stream of customers ordering & picking up takeout. Service was fine. We sat for quite awhile once we were done, and we had to ask for to-go boxes. Then about ten minutes later, our server came by to run our cards. Verdict: FS is cute and bustling. The food is adequate but honestly pretty basic. The prices are quite reasonable. One restroom for the whole place. Paid street parking on Adams Avenue until 8pm & free parking on some side streets. Eggplant with Ground Pork: The fried eggplant was doused in an umami ground pork sauce which tasted amazing. The eggplant and ground pork complimented each other very well and the batter was very crispy. House Soy Sauce Chicken: The chicken was extremely moist and had a very flavorful and savory marinade. The chicken is seasoned to perfection and is not overpoweringly salty or too bland. Cantonese Roasted Duck: The duck was by far my favorite dish. It was succulent with a crispy skin that crunched like glass. The duck tasted very high-quality. Highly recommend. Overall, out of the many Chinese restaurants in Convoy, I would say to give this one a shot. Great food for reasonable prices.

Wow, it's been so long since I've had you tiao (Chinese fried donuts) with soy milk! Their duck noodle soup and congee were also delicious. Don't do it because they barely have me enough soup to cover my noodles and I'm pretty sure if I hadn't gotten it on the side they would have given me more. But I haven't found a Chinese place this homey and authentic in San Diego in a long time. You know it's legit when you show up on a Sunday morning and the place is full of Chinese people. Planning to take my family here some day as I am sure they would love it. Very no-frills, fast service. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I don't think I would come here in the dark. There was some additional parking behind the building that people may not know about. I have seen this business listed in numerous "best of" lists for this enclave of SD. The inside had around ten tables so we're talking about a maximum seating capacity of no more than fifty customers. The noodles were the featured items on the menu, specifically the Rice Noodle Soups and the Crispy Noodle Plates. Those two categories occupied an entire page of the menu. My eyes wandered to the Chow Fun section that had over a dozen varieties which was more than I have seen anywhere else in town. Instead of the prototypical Beef Chow Fun, I selected the Sate version for my order. An oval plate was brought to my table within ten minutes. I noticed there were a lot of onions in the mix, both white and green. Some tomato slices were also included which I found unusual and did nothing to enhance the dish. The pieces of beef were tender and covered with satay sauce. For $15.50, the price was on the lower side, however more rice noodles were needed. I would have preferred using half the number of onions too. The overall execution of the Sate Beef Chow Fun was between three and four stars.

It was empty coming in around 5:30pm on a Friday, but it soon filled to capacity in the next hour. So coming into it, we thought we would choose between Menu A and Menu B. Afterwards, we thought it was AYCE on the menu of your choice + the side buffet where there are limited selections of sides and refrigerated drinks. Not considering it in my rating, but not really sure how I feel about it. As for the food, the dumplings--amazing. We got the scallop shrimp pork ones. The skin is on the thicker side but the texture is so bouncy and the filling is incredibly umami and juicy. One of the best dumplings in San Diego. Each plate comes with 14 of them so it's pretty hefty. They don't really do modifications especially given that all the dumplings are pre-filled, so keep that in mind. As for the other items, they're passable but not as excellent as their dumplings. The beef noodle soup is good, but a little light on beef and veggies. The scallion pancake is super crispy, a little more like croissant and pretty mild green onion flavor. The noodles in the zha jiang mian were a little too al dente. The zha jiang mian comes with bean sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, celery, and ground pork in the black bean sauce. Overall great food for a reasonable price. If in doubt get more dumplings rather than their other dishes; that's what they specialize it and are best at.
