I just ordered for the first time a delivery from this place. I wanted shrimp chow mein. What they gave me was shrimp in cabbage and that was it. I called back and said i think you gave me the wrong order. The man on the phone said no it comes with fried noodles. I said the thick fried noodles for my wonton soup yes but it's suppose to have thin crispy angel hair type noodle and there is none. He begins to argue with me that I'm thinking of lo mein! First of all I'm half korean, i have a strong asian food background. And this restaurant was trying to pull one over my head. Does this look like chow mein to you? read more

Panda House - Does This Look LIKE Chow mein? Don't order from here. They are trying to fool americans. 15$ for this! - Chinese Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Overall, Panda House is a decent pass for a neighborhood Chinese place. Since it's walking distance for me, I'll probably frequent it a bit, but wouldn't recommend driving downtown just for the joint. I dined in at around 8 PM on a Saturday, and was the only person in the restaurant (I guess with the downtown work-week, it might do more in-restaurant business during the weekday lunch crowd). an empty restaurant isn't a good sign, but the phone was ringing off the hook with takeout orders while I was in there, so demand was high atleast (all asking for chicken-fried rice though - there was plenty of better stuff on the menu). the owner didn't seem overly hospitable, but since I'm not a big customer service critic, it didn't bother me one way or the other. I ordered the hot and spicy soup ($1.50) [my usual barometer for a chinese place], the two flavors lamb ($12.95), and a Tsingtao. The beer came with a crystal chalice for a glass, which is not preferable to a lager or pint glass (course, the locals drink Tsingtao from plastic bags, so who am I to judge, really). The soup came out quickly and warm, though could have used more vinegar to add more of the sour flavor - I was glad, though, that it wasn't the tomato-based version of the soup I've suffered through at other Chinese places that failed to earn my repeat business. My main course quickly followed, piping-hot and well spiced/flavored, with scallions and onions bringing a lot of flavor to both sides of the dish. Presentation was pretty good too - a line of orange slices separated the two different lamb dishes, which were pretty tasty to eat after they soaked up the dishes's sauce. I plan to head back, though wouldn't consider this more than a mid-week, "I don't feel like cooking" and/or need a pre-drinking meal spot. I'd concur with the other reviewers too on the "steer clear of the cocktails" line. read more

This was a nice find in downtown Omaha. The staff were all friendly and courteous. The food was fresh and hot and full of flavor. I ordered the general's chicken. The description read "spicy with a hint of sweet," and that was spot on! Only reason I didn't give it 5 was because the egg drop soup definitely tasted like broth from chicken noodle soup yet still delicious. Glad I found a nice place to warm up from the bitter wind! read more

Absolute gabage. How the hell do you call this chinese food. Ordered ma-la seafoos and it didnt have scallops. Ordered hot and sour seafood soup and I am at a loss of words. How dare you call this chinese food... please close your doors. Look in a mirror and slap yourselves. Never took one bite of chinese food and cpuldnt eat more. Just threw 30 dollars away. First meal of the day and lost my appetite. I hate you panda house. read more

I ordered chicken chow mein and was very disappointed. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this place deserved it. I received my order and opened the box to see that there were no noodles and it was soaked it what appeared to be water. The chicken was undercooked and not even edible. There was absolutely no flavor and everything was soggy. I spent a lot of money to receive something that I can't even eat. I will not be going back here and I do not recommend this place to anyone! read more

From out of town & thought I'd try - first off all, the people are very nice. I grabbed food to go. Ordered Happy Family w/ fried rice & a cup of hot & sour. Good stuff! Entree was good but the soup was fabulous! I recommend you try Panda House. read more

Despite all the negative reviews, we like this place! Good food, good service. Maybe the ungrateful swine with their uncultured food don't know what real Chinese should taste like, but this is pretty bomb if you ask me! read more

If you want Chinese take out downtown this place always satisfies my cravings. Just make sure to call the right number and make sure you're ordering from the downtown location! read more

Garlic chicken was 100% awesome! Egg Roll, 3/10, Crab RANgoon 7/10, and the hot and sour soup for my to go order-I don't know? They forgot it. Called back the establishment to let them know this. They fought me on it. Said, it was in my bag. At that point, I said, "Adios" called Visa, got my credit, and will not be returning. read more

A group of coworkers and I decided to order food through Panda House this evening. Terrible experience. After taking the time to get everyones orders put together and calling a 3rd party, after being advised they wouldn't directly deliver even though the website said they did, the delivery driver literally dropped the food and ran. Perhaps the fluid leaking from the bags from not being properly sealed was his reason? All of the orders were messed up and, when calling the restaurant to advise them of such, had a horrible attitude and not so much as an apology. There are too many options for Chinese food in Omaha to waste your money here! read more

I absolutely love Panda House! It was on the list of my must haves when coming back to Nebraska for a visit. I can't even explain how scrumptious the food is and just thinking about it now makes my mouth water. I always order dinner here and order the Lover's Nest with a side of crab rangoons! The presentation of the Lover's Nest is spot on and I recommend it to anyone trying Panda House for the first time. The Lover's Nest as the menu states is a combination of shredded chicken, beef, and vegetables bathed in delicious brown sauce with a sweet, spicy zing....then tossed into a crunchy basket shell with fried noodles! Oh and can't forget the rice! Such a scrumptious dish and cannot seem to part from this to try other things on the menu! It's just so spot on and fulfills my every taste bud and desire for amazing Chinese food! The service is also good. The waiters and waitresses are always so kind. Overall, I believe this place is a must have. Oh and enough food to eat the next day....even better! read more

Me and PH go back a few years, since my first meal here upon arriving in 2012 to my latest one a couple weeks ago...Seems a few months back there was a change in ownership, and it really has been reflected in the food, the service and for me, the overall dining experience...Is this place perfect? No, but for me it get's the job done and done well...the new owners recognize me now from coming in a lot recently and I like that...Since I started coming here regularly again, I've yet to have a bad meal, or bad service...It's unfortunate others recently seem to have nothing nice to say about PH since they really are trying to fix the mistakes the previous owners made and I for one will continue coming here... read more

Panda House - Peanut butter chicken - Chinese Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Well, I placed an order 1 1/2 hrs ago and still sitting here with no food. I called again 30 minutes ago and they said it'd be 10 more minutes. Nope. No food. My card had better not get charged. I'm going out for dinner now. Thanks! read more

Ok honestly we order here alot and I always get The Dragon Phoenix Special and it is actually really good. And my Mother gets the Sweet and Sour Chicken and she likes it. The delivery driver is always polite. So I'm not honestly sure why people are giving them bad review. read more

Panda House - the dining area at lunchtime. - Chinese Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

See all

My husband and I were famished late Labor Day evening, and took to Yelp to find out what was open. Panda House it is! We walked in to this adorable downtown location and the staff cordially welcomed us in and took our orders immediately. I can't say enough about how charming their location is - large windows that look onto downtown, bright lighting, tall ceilings, and clean. My husband had the chicken lo mein and I had the tangerine chicken. The tangerine chicken was succulent dark meat with a sauce that was simultaneously sweet, citrusy, with just enough spice. My husband usually does not like dark meat, but he really liked my dish. I had a bit of his lo mein and it was quite wonderful - just the right amount of salt. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we're ordering delivery from them tonight for dinner. Charming locale, diverse menu, polite staff, long hours, and solidly good food. This is how you make repeat customers! Panda House, I really really like you! read more

Hungry and wanted delivery, so I browsed Yelp... saw this place... close... and thought I'd give it a try after checking out the menu. Some older questionable reviews, but why not. Pleasantly surprised! I ordered chicken fried rice and chicken with broccoli. Both were great! Nice flavor, large portions. And the delivery was exceptionally fast... surprised me at my door in less than 20 minutes! I will most certainly be eating here again! Thanks for a great meal and lots of yummy leftovers! Oh, and the people were very friendly as well... both in the phone ordering and the in-person delivery. All around, a win! Thanks! read more

The crab rangoon and egg rolls my full meal. They deliver or you can walk in and carry out.. Really great..

Friendly staff, ample food, homemade crab Rangoon. We are inside but also do a lot of carry out. Looks like they have at least 2 drivers.

This is my favorite date night place! Certain food is better than others. Love the Sizzling Panda, Crab Ragoons, Mongolian Beef, & their fancy appetizer platter. Service is always better in person versus delivery read more

I finally tried Panda House but only pick up and did not eat in the restaurant (which would have been odd because not a single person was in there!). We got Mongolian Beef, Egg Drop Soup, Egg roll and crab rangoon. Everything was pretty good except for the main dish-Mongolian Beef. There were SO many onions and barely any beef! The flavor was good but you just can't take that many onions with one meal. I will consider going back but would never order that meal again. Egg Drop soup was nothing special-don't order it. read more

Pretty good Chinese food for Nebraska. The flavor is very subtle, but good. Their staff was friendly and we enjoy thwir delivery service. There's also some pretty good options if you want chinese food but still want to eat healthy. I got the steamed chicken with veg last time and really enjoyed the meal. read more

I did not actually eat there, but I had it delivered. I was a little disappointed with them. I asked for some deep fried shrimp, they told me they had prawns instead. I was like OK. 4 prawns for like 5 something. When it finally arrived at my hotel I was really looking forward to the prawns. I open the bag and there was a small bag that had the smallest shrimp I have ever seen. I was like WTF. The pork fried rice was good at least. I don't think I will order from there again. Also, I asked for extra hot mustard and got none. WTF. read more

Excellent orange and kung pao chicken! The best I've had in years!! I'm from Southern California and stopped in on my way back to the airport to go home. Good Chinese food is hard to find and I'm happy I found it in Omaha and wish it was closer to my home. I would recommend this place to anyone in the downtown Omaha area. GREAT service, GREAT home cooked food and REALLY tasty! read more

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Omaha! They have the best wonton soup in town, their entire menu is incredible, and the customer service is amazing (they always remember me when I call for delivery). I will forever be a customer here! Thank you Panda House! read more

I love this place! I live close by so I can just walk here whenever I get a hankering for chicken lo mein and crab rangoo. So good and decently priced! Plus, the lady up front is always kind and willing to make small talk :-) makes the experience more pleasant, always! read more

The Curry Shrimp was fantastic! I also recommend the Pan Fried Dumplings. The fried rice is a bit different then the norm. It's light in color from not using as much soy sauce. Still very good though and not as greasy as some of the other restaurants. The delivery was fast and all the food was hot! read more

Just had the WORST dining experience of my life! Not only was my order wrong,I was given one price on the phone and charged 5 dollars MORE on my credit card when I received my receipt! My ribs were inedible(had a rancid flavor!),couldn't eat the crab rangoon either,as the 'Fishy" taste OVER POWERED the cream cheese! Hoped I would enjoy the House Special Chow Mein, and probably would have, had the amount of carrots been limited to a cup,as opposed to half the order! I feel as if I got had by this bunk restaurant! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

They do delivery, yet clearly they don't want to do delivery. It doesn't make any sense to me. I called the guy gave him my order at the end of it he tried talking me out of doing delivery I asked him if he could deliver and you said yes it would take 55 minutes. I'm only 8 blocks away, and yet he tells me it will be 15 minutes if I come pick it up. He spent most of the conversation trying to persuade me to come pick it up and I finally just did. They should really stop doing it. read more

If I could give this place 0 star I would. I could not believe how horrible the manager/owner treated us. Called to place an order, the man acted as though I was interrupting him. Kept cutting me off when I had complete my order he said "that is all?" I said yes and he hung up. Did not repeat it or take my payment. When they arrived we were missing an order and my order was just water and oil with a couple vegies. When I called to get our c missing order he refused to give it to us. After asking to speak to the manager or owner (who we were already speaking too) he was extra rude. Eventually he told us to come pick up our own order and never call back.... read more

I have always thought Panda House had decent food but now that I found out they deliver that's a bonus.

I wasn't impressed with Panda House the first two times I went, ordering the same thing (kung pau chicken) both times. I decided to give it another shot at a recommendation. Ordered a new item (general's chicken) and was so pleasantly surprised! Great, fast delivery of piping hot food! Employee who delivered was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I will definitely order again. read more

I ordered twice from this place and was disappointed each time. Combination fried rice was ok but the shrimp and chicken entree we got each time were both bad to say the least. It comes with white/ fried rice which has almost no flavor. The entree itself is a decent portion but it js mostly soggy Vegetables and flavorless sauce. The chicken/ shrimp in each dish seemed like it was frozen for a while and very rubbery. Very disappointment because each dish is almost 10 dollars and you would expect more from it. read more

I would like to preface this review by saying I'm a freshman college student with little to no expectations, looking for a meal that doesn't taste like cardboard cafeteria food. The quality of $5 Chinese food for $20. The "fried" rice was just regular rice mixed with soy sauce. Beef with Broccoli just tasted like roast beef covered in sauce. Definitely not worth the money. The sauce that came with the Crab Rangoons was somewhat comparable to Smucker's jelly. read more

It took 2 hours to get our food. The order was wrong. The food was cold. Ask for a refund or discount was told no. Will not order from this place again!!! read more

I heard it was good and needed something close to work. Got this on a whim. The chicken and broccoli was fairly bland, chicken wasn't browned so it didn't look too appetizing. Portions were small. I've had better and worse Chinese food. Quick delivery, but they said they can only deliver at certain times which were fairly obscure. read more

I have had them deliver to me a few times while traveling. The good thing is they are always solid with delivery times. I have head the Generals Chicken as well as Phoenix and Dragon meals. The seasoning is OK on both of the dishes. I do like their hot and sour soup. Again not the most exciting food, but better than the average delivery in the area. read more
