I got the Amazing Chicken and they made Egg fu yon for my wife. Great food and very reasonable in terms of price. Our waitress was very pleasant, attentive and helpful. This is a favorite Chinese restaurant when we are in the area. read more

Used to be better than average, now simply subpar on a good day. From the food being run of the mill to the un engaged staff starting with reception. Mistakes on take ouf orders, filthy bar you stick to as soon as you touch it. Cant look forward to spending my money here anymore. Sad, used to love the place. read more

I keep going back to this restaurant and to be frank I don't really know why I keep going back. Tonight I was very parched and had to go chase my waitress down for a glass of water. Lazy if you ask me. The food is always delicious but the service is as i rated this restaurant 2/10! I don't know if they need more help or if their servers just have a lazy nature but it needs to be stepped up. Couldn't even get a knife without going to three people. Should i eat with my hands, like an animal? read more

I enjoyed eating here while passing through Danbury. I had the Amazing Chicken. I don't know if it lived up to its name, but it was good and definitely better quality than fast casual Chinese places like Panda Express. The menu was varied and if I lived near Danbury I would come back to try other dishes. read more

I have been going to this establishment for years and haven't had a bad experience until my recent visit on September 6, 2021. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, and was dipping my chicken into the small white bowl containing the sauce when a piece of hair was found in the sauce. I immediately was so upset but didn't say anything until the waiter approached us. Not once did he see if he our meal was okay or if we needed anything else. The waiter didn't apologize for the hair in my sauce, but tried to blame it on my mother or myself when clearly it was not ours. It was as if the incident didn't exist. My mom had ordered the sesame chicken and it was so sugary that my mom ended up being sick that evening. It also seemed the rice was old and she wasn't able to eat it. This place has gone downhill and I used to love it, I would go quite often. Now I'm wondering if it would pass health inspection. Also, the week prior, my sister had found a bug in her white rice. Please be weary of this restaurant. read more

Great lunch. Love that you get Chinese Tea. Sweet and sour chicken is a very generous portion with soup and rice. Very friendly staff

The food is good but they have OFFICIALLY lost a loyal customer!! I was charged an EXTRA $5 on my Cash Card that was NOT authorized by me!! Everytime I get a delivery, the delivery man demands that I tip him before I even get the chance to make that decision myself! They messed up my order and had to redeliver again.... which I made my daughter go out and sign for! Being that I put the exact amount in my card, I didn't instruct her to write a tip but only SIGN the receipt... which she DID! When I called the restaurant to notify them, instead of refunding me... the lady starts going back and forth about how the delivery guy was there for 16 years, I shouldn't be letting my daughter sign, and so on.... total disregard for the fact that somebody forged their tip into my receipt! Horrible customer service! read more

Probably the best Chinese food in Danbury. Their Kung Pao chicken in amazing I order from here almost every weekend and never left disappointed. Great food and amazing friendly staff. I'd you are new to the area check out panda house you will quickly be hooked. read more

The Amazing chicken was not amazing. I do like their pancakes and their pan fried dumplings. Other than that. i was disappointed. Their lettuce wraps were subpar compared to PF Changs. The hot & sour soup was neither hot nor sour. It was just watery. Overall, i was disappointed and that was with already low expectations of this restaurant. read more

This place used to be outstanding. Now just mediocre like any other takeout Chinese restaurant. They used to have the big thick noodles that you could put them in the soup or if you ate in you could dip them in duck sauce or hot mustard. I actually drive 12 miles in each direction for this but now I will NOT be coming back. Now the noodles that they give with the soup are just those dried thin things that taste like stale cardboard. It is a shame see places start cutting corners and sacrificing quality its just the beginning of the downhill slide read more

Delicious food always freshly made and brought out. Staff is friendly and prompt, and recognize a familiar face. Good alcoholic beverages and a nice bar area if you are not in the mood for a formal sit down. Have tried many different dishes but a few favorites are Gyoza, Spicy Yellowtail Roll, House Special Seafood Soup, Wonton Soup with delicious chicken broth, and of course Green Tea Ice Cream... the best! read more

Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from this place, but I was super pleasantly surprised! They've definitely done some updating in recent years which is a plus. The atmosphere is a little bit like a generic banquet hall, with LOTS of tables, but not unpleasant. They offer crispy noodles for you to snack on while you wait, and also complimentary tea that's already waiting for you in a kettle on the table. The menu is ridiculously huge and overwhelming though. I went with chicken and broccoli because it's my Chinese go-to and it was good. My mom ordered the General Tso's Bean Curd though, which was PHENOMENAL. The bean curd was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had a fantastic flavor. I would highly recommend that dish for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike! read more

We ordered delivery on June 10 and were overcharged on every item we ordered. We were also charged a $4 delivery fee although last month it was $1. We were not told of the increase. It took 15 minutes on the phone to get a refund. We were overcharged $14.20 for the food and they offered a $5 credit for our next visit. I said no. Then they offered $10 credit. I repeated at least 10 times that I wanted my credit card credited in full. Finally, they agreed. The prices posted on their website are NOT what they charge. We're done with Panda House. read more

We moved to the Danbury area from Queens, NY - the Chinese Capital of the US which has more than 1K Chinese restaurants, representing every cuisine and region, Panda house reminds me of every 1950's suburban Chinese restaurant: overly sweet concoctions that no one in China ever saw - nothing like the quality of cooking found in any Flushing restaurant. You'll find no umami in Panda House, no subtle contrasting/complementary flavors, no spice, no pleasure. At least the scallion pancake was not greasy. read more

This place has really gone downhill. I have been coming here for years- they must have new management or chef because the food was terrible. My son had sesame chicken that was so sugary and boring with none of the beautiful garnish that they used to use. I had sashimi that looked like it was plated by a child who was in a hurry. The service was good but can hardly make up for the mediocre food. Quite a disappointment! read more

Years ago, I used to eat here all the time so I decided to give it a try. Well...pretty mediocre at best. Came in for a quick dinner and the place was pretty empty which signals me to think, it is not that popular anymore. First off, the tea was delish but the noodles were a bit disappointing. They were a little stale and broken into many pieces. It was like eating a bowl of jig saw pieces. They give you one little saucer of duck sauce for three people. Try dipping your little mosaic sized noodle in that! Talk about double dipping. We had to ask a few times for more duck sauce. Ugh! The General Tsao chicken had a nice flavor. It was pretty standard and didn't knock my socks off. The portion size was descent. The spring rolls were crispy and were good too. We also ordered chicken with string beans and it too was pretty good Nd tender but the flavor was a bit overpowered by ginger. It is a great meal to order if you are coming down with a cold and need the healing properties of ginger. Overall: Average. read more

Fancy place, fancy prices, mediocre food. Hot & sour soup was good, but had too many large chunks of white mushroom (and no wood ear). We ordered something called Szechuan dumplings that were nothing like any Szechuan dumplings we've ever had and which weren't spicy in the least. They were bland and limp and generally unimpressive. Shumai were good but nothing special. Yaki udon was bland, but at least the noodles weren't overcooked. As far as sushi goes, this place apparently subscribes to the "bigger is better" theory of sashimi preparation, delivering huge, unwieldy hunks of fish that were uncomfortable to eat. Up to this point, the restaurant would earn a solid "meh" but they lost another star for (a) adding condiments to their maki rolls that weren't listed in the menu and (b) serving some sort of bizarre, half-dried-out lump of wasabi that looked like it had been sitting out for hours. I've literally never seen the likes of that before. It was as if they had prepped it at the beginning of the day and left it sitting out. All in all, not worth the premium prices. read more

Only my second time here, but each time it was exceptional. I ordered the Shrimp and Veggies - the shrimp were huge! The veggies very fresh - all that for 13.95. I also love that you get tea and noodles when you sit down - this never happens in ATL, they'll typically give you a cup of hot water and a tea bag, then charge you. I was amazed that it wasn't packed. Service was fast and polite. I highly recommend coming here to eat, I know I'll be back! read more

Just finished my delivery from here. First off, it was the fastest food delivery I have ever received. The food was hot and delicious. If I lived in Danbury, this would be a weekly order for me. Thank you! read more

Normally the Panda House would start with -3 stars before tasting the food. Minus one for serving both Chinese food and sushi. Minus one for forks by default and having to request chop sticks. And minus one for serving fried won ton chips with orange chile sauce as an "appetizer" ala chips and salsa. But this is Danbury after all and from the look of the dinner crowd none of these Chinese preferences would appeal to the market. So starting with a clean slate, we rate only the food and service. The hot and sour soup was a surprise of smokiness and subtle sour with a wide assortment of traditional veggies. The green beans with ginger beef was quite tasty with the beans properly flash fried and interestingly micro fine ginger slices. So the food was 4 star and the sevice 3 star (slow to take the order and slow to bring the check with no service check during the meal). read more

My family and I have been coming here forever. It's the best. Plenty of parking. If you're dining in, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Servers are always very friendly and professional. If you're taking out, the process is simple and quick. Great menu and we've honestly never gotten anything bad here though Hunan chicken and chicken fried rice is our go-to. My mom and I have Celiac and the gluten-free options are great. They have gluten-free soy sauce they can do most any dish with, and you can also get almost anything in a white sauce that's also gluten-free. My sister (not Celiac) loves the wonton soup, too. I live away from home now but ALWAYS make sure to have a meal at panda house when in town. read more

"Chinese" food totally and badly Americanized. So sweet. Ugh. Pretty friendly service and fairly attractive, and I detected some tiny vestigial ability in the kitchen, but they need to be totally rehabilitated to be acceptable from my point of view. Start off by putting chopsticks - and not the tiny one cent breakapart kind - on the table, and skip the crispy noodles with the orange sugar sauce, and put a severe restriction on sugar and salt in the kitchen. Kudos, however, for not putting down zodiac place mats. ;-) read more

I'm new to Danbury and Panda House is nearby, so my sweetie and a friend and I decided to give it a try. Service was spot-on. Our water glasses never went unfilled, and when we ordered a second appetizer after demolishing the first, it came before the rest of the meal. I like the Chinese menu so far, lots of different options. I chose shrimp in chili sauce and pork with black bean sauce in the same dish. I would have liked more black bean flavor, and a little more spice to the chili, but both parts of my entree were solid. I also tried bits of lamb two ways--the brown sauce was very dense and a little too salty--and the house special duck, which was delicious. Our appetizers were gyoza from the Japanese menu, and the fried dumplings from the Chinese menu. Both were tasty, and neither had the too-thick noodle that my sweetie is wont to rant about (he's quite good at it). I was disappointed to find out they didn't deliver any longer, but I'll be back to try the sushi, maybe for lunch, and maybe for dinner as well. read more

Typical Chinese food, except for the last time I got take out and an extra portion of food poisoning was included. I'll never order from here again. I recently moved to Danbury and have been failing to find Chinese food that is comparable to the food in NYC. Panda House had exceeded my expectations. I am so happy to have found this place. The staff is very friendly and efficient in getting my order ready as quickly as possible. I will definitely be ordering regularly. read more

Panda House offers great tasting Chinese meals and has a decent sushi menu. If you like sushi and like Tuna, I highly recommend the Ultimate Tuna Roll. That's my favorite specialty roll on their sushi menu. The service is a tad slow for dining in, but their their take out service is stellar. Was very confused here. Restaurant is of good size but they had the tables sat only in the back (so they restaurant looked empty). Food is very oily and salty. I was going to give it two stars as the staff were initially nice and the duck was okay... but then I remembered that we actually didn't have food at the table for almost 40 mins. Also, there was a huge dead cockroach/beetle at the foot of our table which I saw upon leaving. like HUGE. I would think that the critter was dead for sometime by the looks of it, but how was it there and WHY. Left hungry but lost my appetite. We also asked for the check 3x and ended up just walking to the front and paying. Quite unacceptable to make an 80 year old walk to you. Maybe its a neighborhood spot. If I lived in the area, it's not a place I would crave...ever. Sorry. read more

This restaurant service up some Chinese-American and Japanese standards. The prices reflect the quality of the dishes. The portions are large, the food is of a high quality, and the presentations are excellent. Make no mistake, this is not a dime-a-dozen cheap Chinese takeout joint, this is quality. One area where this restaurant particularly excels is service. My water glass is never empty when I eat here and the waiters seem eager to ask me how I want my food prepared and whether they can get me anything to improve my dining experience. read more
