Panda Express is one of our favorite chains, and we typically pick it up 2-3 times a month. The food is consistently good, and while the service isn't always outstanding, we don't expect that at a fast food restaurant. This time, however, I was in Yuma for work and staying across the street from this location. As soon as I walked in, I was ignored for at least four minutes while the employees were chatting among themselves without acknowledging me. Eventually, I was greeted and placed my order. I ordered walnut shrimp, but they didn't have enough to cover my two orders, so I had to wait. I specifically asked to be served only the fresh shrimp they were preparing, but when I was watching, they took the older shrimp from the larger plate and mixed it into the large side of walnut shrimp I had ordered ($15). When I got back to my hotel and opened the large side of walnut shrimp, I noticed residue from other items on the plate. I was really disappointed. I called the restaurant, but since they were already closed, no one answered. I reached out to Panda Express customer service to report the issue, and while they did try to make it right, the point was never about getting free food. I just expect my food to be prepared properly. I appreciate Panda Express trying to resolve the issue, but I hope they take this feedback to ensure better quality and service in the future. read more

On the way from AZ to SD we stopped for gas and food. Normally I go to the In-N-Out but I recently had it at home, and it was a mad house. So I went to another go to- Panda. And I haven't had it in months. Was delicious! It was so busy so that meant they were burning through the food and fresh trays were coming out left and right. Family Feast was delicious. Kung Pao Chicken, Beijing Beef , Teriyaki Chicken Chow Mein, Greens and added on large egg rolls and a large order of Rangoon's. Sticker shock was that the order was over $60.00 but as fresh and delicious as everything is and that the left overs were used... it makes for an easier pill to swallow. read more

As we were visiting the area we stopped in for a small meal. Decided to try their "bowls" which is one entree, one side. I chose the kung pao chicken over noodles, hubs chose the bejing beef over rice. Both were perfectly satisfying and the amount of food just right if you don't want to overdo on a large meal. Came through the drive-through here on our way back to San Diego because there was no other place for the next few hours that we could get decent food. It bad been a while since I had Panda Express But I remember having a really loved the Beef & Broccoli a few years ago. I recommended my husband get that. We asked for the Beef Broccoli and the Green Bean Chicken on Super Greens. The attendant took some time to understand the order and I had to explain it at least twice after reading what was on the screens to make sure she got it right. When we open the box.. The beef and broccoli had literally all broccoli! Giant chunks of broccoli and maybe one tiny piece of beef. Good thing we opened it right there in the parking lot. We went back through the drive-thru and told them about the issue and they gave us a small box of just brief on the side. Very much appreciate the service! In terms of taste... I definitely prefer the beef broccoli more than the green bean chicken. My husband like them both. Be properly. Had a really good flavor, but I think it used to be better when I had it about 3 years ago. The sauce on the beef broccoli was really good. And I love how it actually got soaked up by the broccoli chunks. Portion size on the super greens was massive! I really love the amount of vegetables they have here. Truth bomb... I am not one of the people that is absolutely infatuated with Panda Express. I went in here expecting lackluster food. I was surprised because my other experience with Panda paled in comparison to this one. The staff was friendly, the portions were generous, and the food was delicious. I ordered a plate and had orange chicken and beef. The lo me in was so-so bit the rice was on point. I also enjoyed the 3 crab rangoons we ordered. Is it a 5 star restaurant? Pretty amazing business model. You run out of quarters and pennies so you just short people that change?!?!?! I'm not in the habit of counting out my change when I receive it back, I just knew I'd get 92 cents back (because I looked for a dime so I didn't get so much change back) and when I only got 2 dimes and a nickel back after handing me my to-go order and thanking me for coming in, I looked at my receipt to make sure I heard the total right. I then proceeded to ask the cashier about correcting the change. She responded...oh, I ran out of change. Is that okay? REALLLYYY??? So, if I hadn't said anything...she would've essentially stolen that from a customer. Not a big deal. We're not talking about a lot of money - but either pretty shady or great way to swindle money from (most) unsuspecting customers. Thankfully my beef and broccoli and fried rice was satisfying. The person taking my order offered me two alternatives. Unfortunately, they don't offer sampling at this location either, but she assured me that the alternatives were close to what I was used to and the other was a local favorite. My family and I finished a day of travel and checked in at our reserved hotel room. We ordered from this Panda Express using the Door Dash application. Let me get to the point. The food came fairly quickly, which is positive. However, pretty much downhill from there. I ordered fried rice, orange chicken and broccoli beef. The rice wasn't even cooked completely. It was still hard and crunchy and the broccoli was gross. Even with the beef and sauce it tasted distinctly stale and nasty. Yelp reviews gave this restaurant 2.5 stars. This was a really painful experience at Panda. Normally, I've had pretty good experiences in general. It's a pretty standard chain across the board. Maybe it was because I went through the drive thru. Do you remember Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2? "Don't go through the drive thru cause you get F&$%ed in the drive thru"! Well, we didn't get that far, but it was quite the ordeal. We had pulled in after about a three hour drive from Phoenix with another three to get home. We were looking for something quick, not burgers and something we hadn't had the previous three days. Didn't have a Panda near the convention in Phoenix, so into the drive thru we went. With five pairs of eyes checking out the menu, it took a few minutes for everyone to decide. So when I start placing the first order, I asked about a two item combo with rice and chow mein. The girl on the other end of the speaker says, "Oh, can you hold on"? So I waited. She gets back and says, "Ok, go ahead". I repeated a two item combo with rice and chow mein. I started in with the entrees on that order asking for kung pao chicken and honey walnut shrimp. She gets back asking if I wanted white or brown rice. I said "white". Then she asked what else I wanted with the rice? I repeated, kung pao chicken and honey walnut shrimp. She said, "what was my second entree on the two item combo? I had just told her, honey walnut shrimp. I looked at my wife and she just smiled because we had a similar experience a few years back that all of our kids remembered of a gal at the drive thru that was just clueless! Anyway, I started to order the next meal which was a kids meal with white rice, teriyaki chicken and a sprite. The gal asked what I wanted as a drink with the kids meal? I repeated, sprite. She then asked if I wanted chow mein or rice with the kids meal? I was now in shock that I had to repeat the orders multiple times for a simple three meals. You always here people talking about the horror of going through the drive thru and the person on the other end sounding as if they're in a shoe box or tin can. This was pretty much it! I had repeated the order of three items approximately seven times before she finally got it right. My children absolutely love Panda Express. One of the days I decide to indulge my children, I am hit with the worst customer service of my life. Not only did they get my order wrong, but the drive thru girl was the worst I have ever experienced. She argued to me about an item I paid for and claimed she was doing me a service by giving it to me for free! For free she said, and I had the receipt in my hands proving I had paid for it. I called the manager to give her a chance to say, "I'm sorry about the interaction and I will speak to the rep to ensure she doesn't treat other customers the same way."
