Everything has always been delicious, and that's actually what brought me back. I remembered this place being amazing when I was in college about 10 years ago, so I was excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered 4 basic cheeseburgers, small fries, and only 2 drinks, and the total came to $67. For what we received, that price felt incredibly high, especially compared to other burger places nearby. The burgers looked great with all the fresh toppings and vegetables, but the flavor just wasn't there. They were big and visually appealing, yet surprisingly bland. It felt like a lot of ingredients piled together without much seasoning or taste to make the burger stand out. The one bright spot was the customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely sweet throughout our visit, which I really appreciated. Overall, I was shocked and disappointed. I don't mind spending $67 if the food is worth it, but in this case, it simply wasn't. The desserts and ice cream are still 5-star quality, but based on this experience, the burgers were mediocre, flavorless, and way too expensive for what they were.

I was turned away at 10:22 AM b/c they don't start lunch until 10:30 AM. So, I came back at 10:34 AM. What a mess! Electronic sign only had breakfast options. I told the order taker; response was there was nothing they could do about it and should change any second. I agreed to wait. A few moments she came back for order. I told her it was still breakfast and I need to see lunch menu to order. This took about five minutes. She then say she would let manager know. She asked me for my order and I order. When I arrived at 1:18 PM, I had to walk around to the front because the back door leading to the parking lot was locked. By 1:45 PM nothing has been communicated to me--no employee has explained the delay, made any mention of it, or offered any sort of apology. Nothing. I understand that things can get backed up, but this kind of delay and lack of acknowledgment is disrespectful of my time and of the other people who have been waiting with me. I've watched people come in after me, order, eat, and leave. I was even handed an order that wasn't mine, despite announcing my name and that I was there for a pickup. I've wasted my entire lunch break waiting for food that was supposed to be ready 35 minutes ago. I left at 1:48 PM. They would not offer a refund, credit, or anything--just a "thank you for being patient." They ran out of chicken, she said. During lunch.

I don't eat much Del Taco, but on this day destiny had other plans…read more I was trying to visit this awesome place called The Loose Caboose down the street, I just wanted to buy fresh honey and feed koi fish, but as soon as I pulled up - I had to pee bad. Loose Caboose doesn't have a restroom, so I decided to double back to the Del Taco I saw on the way in to Santa Paula and that's where this review begins. Firstly, I was with my girlfriend who has told me on more than one occasion that she has never tried Del Taco in her whole life. I went inside, peed and thought about returning to the car with tacos. The guy behind the register was awesome, he helped me pick out two classic tacos - the chicken soft taco (personal fav) and the staple that started it all - the Del Taco Classic taco. Yes, I only bought two tacos for us to sample because I already have problems with being fat and all as it is. What was so cool is the cook in the back asked what I wanted and started it before they even rang me up. Such speed, agility and compassion for me. The service was the best I have ever experienced at a Del Taco. Friendly, professional and I could tell they just wanted me to enjoy tacos and wanted nothing more from me. I returned to the car with our tacos and did a food review with my girl. The Del Taco classic was good. The beef danced with the cheese, the tomatoes gave a pop of freshness and the shell was crunchy but not stale. The star of the show to me was the chicken soft taco. The meat is seasoned to perfection, the shredded lettuce and creamy sauce give it a very crisp, light taste and texture. My girlfriend, who is not impressed with Mexican-ish fast food thought the tacos were pretty good too. 5 Stars for service, I will pee there again and most likely order more tacos next time I'm in town.
