I couldn't figure out if it was the carne asada, the salsa, or the guacamole. We also tried the Sandia and Horchata. They serve large portions of Katsu, BBQ chicken, Korean style ribs for pretty reasonable pricing for the amounts. The meats taste freshly grilled; my BBQ chicken was slightly on the dry side. I think they cook so much meat and then let it rest, so that it can dry out depending when your order comes up. For my taste, the macaroni salad is almost too bland, but I think it's not meant to stand out. It balances the meal similar to rice. I Recommend for when you're really hungry and looking for affordable, non fast food options.

Jajangmyeon, but I didn't see it on the website nor on the menu during my visit. I'll have to ask next time. My Strawberry Yakult drink was nicely refreshing, and I would order this again. I will probably try to make it at home as well. My Kimbap was really good. It was simple, used fresh ingredients, and filled me up faster than I had anticipated. I ended up taking my chicken rice bowl home to enjoy later. It was still really good the day after, but it was just a chicken bowl. Good, but nothing surprising. The group also ordered wings and my sister got herself Naengmyeon. I will have to come back and try the other items on the menu. I'm happy an authentic Korean restaurant has opened in the 805. It has been a food desert for different cuisines for a long time, and I'm happy it's finally improving.

Initially I wanted the NY steak sandwich but coleslaw is not offered in that sandwich and I wanted my side dish to be potato salad. The vibe is kinda cafeteria style. The food came in a cardboard boat type container, the side in a plastic tub and you fill your own soda. I saw some bottled and canned beer offered in a fridge but I don't think I saw anything on draft. For me this would be more of a takeout type of place. It's a service-free environment that wasn't too lively for a weekend afternoon so you might as well get your food to go and enjoy it at home or at a park. Anyway, the lady at the meat counter tells me, "Go to Marshalls." And I'm like, "You mean the department store with handbags?" She laughs and says, "No, Marshalls Bodacious Barbecue." Four minutes later, I'm pulling up and immediately hit with that glorious cloud of smoke. The smell alone could convert a vegan. There's a massive pit trailer outside with fresh wood burning, and inside it's got this western vibe--two order windows, a fridge of drinks, chips, merch, and a big ol' menu with a QR code for ordering. I asked what they recommend and the guy said, "Everything's good, but the brisket's my favorite." So I went for the brisket with two sides--macaroni and chili beans. He warned me the mac and coleslaw run sweet. He was right--it's sweet but it works. The chili beans? Absolutely killer. The brisket came stacked on toasted garlic bread (genius move), juicy, smoky, perfect bark, melt-in-your-mouth good. Three sauces to choose from--regular, honey, and spicy--and trust me, go for the spicy. And let me just say--the customer service was just as good as the food. Super friendly, helpful, and genuinely proud of what they're serving. You can tell they care about every plate they hand out. $24 later I had an amazing meal, plenty of food, and everything was spotless--two TVs playing, great vibe, and seriously some of the best brisket I've had in California. Run don't walk!
