Let's be honest... is this the best Chinese food ever? Absolutely not. Is it the best Chinese food in Ramona? I was going to say yes... but then remembered the Vietnamese and Thai places offer some Chinese dishes, so never mind XD. Is it even fair to call this Chinese food? Probably "no" to that too. But listen. It is tasty, it is consistent, it is fast, and it scratches a very specific itch. Let's also not pretend this is health food. It is greasy, it is heavy, and it is absolutely "eat your feelings" comfort food. You can mix and match a bunch of different entrées for a decent price, which is great when you want variety without committing to leftovers for days. Every once in a blue moon I give in to the craving and it delivers. Sure, I am filled with self-loathing and my stomach has opinions afterward, but while I am eating it there is pure happiness. This location is pretty convenient, especially with the drive through. Service is usually pretty fast, although I did have one experience where it took about 30 minutes, so now if it looks backed up I just go inside instead. Who cares. Everyone in there is eating Panda too, so nobody is judging. There is not a lot of variation between Panda locations, but this one is solid. Since it is basically the only Chinese food option for Ramona and the surrounding rural mountain areas, they move a ton of food, which means it is usually hot and fresh. When I have gone inside, the kitchen is hustling nonstop turning out tray after tray. You already know what Panda is. It is not gourmet, it is not fancy, but it hits the spot. And sometimes that is exactly what you need read more

Yum! Fast, friendly service at a very reasonable price. The "Plate," two item combo and a drink. Kung Pow Chicken, and Teriyaki Chicken with all vegetables or all noodles. Mix it all together. Really hits the spot, especially after a long day of fishing. read more

One of the few "lighter" options in Ramona. Normally, I go for the high fat fries crap. Today, I went with the lighter option because I'm in training for using chop sticks! Want to train? Order rice! Flavors were all spot on. I liked that I could get an extra sauce packet with the teriyaki sauce as that was much needed for the rice. Too dry without some kind of sauce! The chop sticks were a nice surprise! Round and separate. Not a single unit you had to separate. I'll be going back! I just wish they would have a non veggie steak option! Hahaha! read more

First I would like to say that I've been going to Panda Express for decades. I've been going to this particular Panda since it has opened. I'm normally not the type that writes reviews, and if I do, they are normally good. Panda has not always the best service, but they have been mostly accommodating. Mireya (Spelling?) is apparently the new manager and with her come some of the worst customer service. She continually cut me off and to the point where I couldn't even communicate a single word. She would childishly cut me off just to be annoying and couldn't care less if she lost a customer. Not only has her customer service been the worst I have experienced in a while, but it has turned me of Panda completely. She is in the wrong field. Customer service isn't for everyone. Panda, you need to pick your people better. I will not be returning as long as she is the manager. read more

First of all, I say if I could give a negative 5 star, I would. I stopped in at this Ramona California Panda Express. I ordered the new sizzling shrimp bowel with choman noodles . For the price I got no were near what I should of. And yes, I eat at Panda, and I got more than what I got on this order. It's not worth it this time. No, I will not recommend this Panda Express. I took a picture of the shrimp. With is spicy. Good luck if you Try this place . Honestly your wasting money read more

The food was very Fresh and very delicious looking! The staff was very helpful AND efficient! I really enjoyed my meal!

My first visit to the Ramona Panda Express was a disappointing one. I've been to other Panda Express before, Poway most recently. I decided to order a few simple items, Chicken Egg Rolls, Vegetable Spring Rolls and Cream Cheese Won Tons, all items I've had before at a number of Asian restaurants and items I've made at home. As soon as I opened the items I saw that the Won Tons were opened and there was no cream cheese inside and they were soggy and greasy. The Egg Rolls and Spring rolls were also greasy and luke warm/cold. I brought the items to the manager and explained the issues. I was told the kitchen staff is still working out some issues and apologized. I completely understand having issues with a new staff at a new restaurant, completely, but visual inspection should tell you if an item shouldn't be sent out. I hope they can fix the issues they have and get their kitchen staff on point. read more

Panda Express - What happened? - Chinese Near Me - Ramona, California

These poor employees! They're just trying to do their job and the app doesn't tell people required information. Why does it give you an option for pickup that doesn't save drive-thru after the dining area is closed? If you don't know that and you walk over, you have no choice but to go through the drive-thru. I felt so bad for the employees. They were concerned I was going to get run over with literally no one in the Drive-Thru. Please make sure to call the store and find out when their dining room is open before you order pickup read more

The team at Panda Express Ramona are excellent. I had the best customer experience at this location. They work together and effectively communicate to one another to handle the waves of customers that come inside and through the drive through. The food is hot + fresh and the dining room is extremely clean. I want to recognize Carolina for how she addressed a potential customer service situation in a timely manner. There was a customer who was rude and impatient and Carolina handled it professional, courteous, and calm. What a true asset to the company. I am so happy they opened a Panda Express in Ramona. I wish them only continued success into the future. Carolina, thank you so much for making my family's dining experience so memorable. We will always look forward to coming in to see you! read more

Panda Express - a stuffed panda in a red box - Chinese Near Me - Ramona, California

This Panda is like every other one except a few things that stand out in a negative way. I usually order chow mein with orange chicken and the honey walnut shrimp. The proportion is great but I haven't had any issue with the flavor at any other panda until this one. It's a hit or miss with the orange chicken and the walnut shrimp. Sometimes the walnut shrimps breading is raw and the orange chicken lacks flavor with the sauce and the meat itself. The chow mein will be bland sometimes as well. After a few bites I just want to put it down and eat later. The major standout is the drive thru aspect of the location. Built to exit on a busy main road of a small town is not great. It holds up the line as you wait for a clearance to get onto the road and majority of the time you can't see when cars are coming creating a safety hazard. All in all, it's fast food and you can't expect it to be perfect all the time. But when it's continuous there's something wrong. read more

Visited 2/7/2021 Take out only Damn COVID. Placed my order online fast and easy. I ordered The Family meal with Honey walnut shrimp, Black pepper Angus steak, Orange chicken, chicken eggrolls, Chow mein, and fried brown rice. I like the fact that online You can ask for it to be ready whatever time you want to pick it up. If you order online you can't go through the drive-through you have to go inside to pick it up. Here in Ramona it's a nice addition to fast food Chinese. It's nice to have something different to try now and then. It's not the best Chinese food I've ever had it's not even close but it is OK. The honey walnut shrimp were tender and I enjoyed them. The black pepper Angus steak entrée was spicy but pretty good tasting. The orange chicken was quite bland and definitely needed a bunch more orange sauce. Their fried rice was very good as a side. The chow mein was OK also not great but OK as a side. The chicken eggrolls were actually pretty good and I would definitely have them again. All in all they're starting to get it together here for a new business. I give this place a solid 3 1/2 stars. I will definitely try this place again. Enjoy. read more

There wasn't a good selection. They hardly filled up the to go container. Not going back to this fast food restaurant.

I go through the drive through usually and they always do this. They won't give you a full amount of an entree. This steak entree that you see very little of had 4 bite size pieces of steak. This item is up charged $1.25 or so because it is premium. GIVE ME A FULL SERVING! read more

The food was good tasting , however, it was very cold even though my husband arrived exactly when he was told to. When he picked up our order, the young lady was extremely rude to him. He asked what was in the to go bag because he didn't want to get home and find it wasnt what we ordered as there was no paperwork on the bag. She called over her shoulder as she sped off, "what you ordered!". Not good enough to return. He also told her he would like to order a bag of fortune cookies which were not on take out menu and was told to go wait in line. Panda Express - Chinese Near Me - Ramona, California

If I could give zero stars I would. Team members Adriana and Carolina are so rude and unprofessional. I cannot believe the service that was given tonight! Carolina asked for my order and I gave her 1 of 3 I was placing. She finished the first order I gave and went to the cash register to start packing orders, didn't ask if I had more to go just left. Then Adriana came and continued my order. I placed the other 2. I walked to the register while she was finishing it. While waiting I asked Adriana to please put the orders in different bags, she repeated what I said to confirm. I paid and was handed 1 bag. I told her I asked for the orders in separate bags and she hands me a second bag. I asked how I could tell what was in each box ( they normally write on each box what is inside but didn't this time) she says well you'll have to open them. I handed her back the bags and asked her to separate the order as she previously stated she would do. She looks at me and said "you're not going to open them?" I told her no, I asked you prior to bagging to please separate you understood what I asked by repeating it back and failed to do so. She starts mumbling and rolling her eyes. Before leaving I told her "you don't have to be rude when I clearly asked you to do something and you got it wrong) then took my order to the car and realize I am missing an item! I go back in and realize they are ALL talking about me. They ALL look at me and practically accuse me of lying. They look at the order and yes in fact I was missing something. But not before saying "you should have 10 boxes, i counted 7 and then you handed me 2" basic math 7+2=9 not 10! No apology nothing but back handed comments and snarky replies. Don't waste your time visiting this location their training is below standard. read more

I got takeout order and I wasn't even offered napkins. That would be pretty common for someone if they're taking out food to get napkins.

Last time i ordered a bowl with orange chicken and rice and the chicken was pink. So yeah i was served undercooked chicken, didn't finish my plate. Then another time after that my husband brought some home for lunch, ordered orange chicken. Same thing, last pieces of chicken were pink. Not sure why the chicken is being undercooked but they sure as hell slather the orange chicken sauce on it to cover it up. Haven't eaten there in a few months because im afraid I'll get salmonella or something. read more

Love Panda just not this location. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. It was lunch time and they weren't busy with customers. Ordered online for a specific time, got there and the family-portion order wasn't ready. Waited almost 20 min without any explanation on what's going on. Finally got everything together without any apology on the wait, then when I asked for plates, server gave me attitude. Super sad. Won't be coming back. Now I see that other people's reviews are true. read more

Rip off! DO NOT go to this specific location. A friend, who is vegetarian, was coming over so I figured Panda would have some options. Not really, which is fine. So I ask for a 2 item plate of noodles, steamed veggies, and veggie spring rolls. I get a plate that's half empty. It's veggies for goodness sake. How much more are you making from me since I'm not getting any protein? At least have the decency to give me a full plate of what I'm paying for. I don't know if it's the workers or management but they suck! Horrible horrible place. read more

I went thru the drive thru and the service was good, it was quick, and they got my order correct. So, they got one star for that. I live 7.5 miles from town where the Ramona Ca Panda Express is. I ordered broccoli & beef, mushroom chicken, & honey walnut shrimp. I get home and the broccoli & beef would have been more accurately described as broccoli. There was 2 pieces of beef about 1/2" x 1/2". The Mushroom chicken had plenty of mushrooms and squash and 3 marble size pieces of chicken. The honey walnut shrimp was aptly named, I received one little itty-bitty piece of walnut about the size of a baby pea with the shrimp. If you need to charge more money, charge more money, but serving people this inferior fare can only hurt your business. read more

This is a standard panda. Sometimes they get the orders wrong. Most are good. But for a Chinese restaurant they serve little servings. I feel like if you're going to have the word "teriyaki" in the name of one of your signature dishes, it should probably be incorporated into the dish itself. But Panda Express in Ramona decided it would be better if they left the sauce off the entrée entirely, and then also decided not to put any whatsoever inside the bag. None. Does this make sense on any level? One advantage of ordering online is ACCURACY. Its typed out right in front of the servers and cook staff. And during these wonderful Covid months it's not like you can just rip the bag open in the middle of Panda & start pointing fingers! The entire order is waiting for you SEALED for safety. Ugh. What is the freaking point of ordering a particular dish, especially when the main flavor ingredient for that recipe is not included? At that point it's not teriyaki chicken it's just chicken. And the same would be true with mushroom chicken, orange chicken, sweet fire chicken, etc. etc. Why not leave the sauces and other ingredients out of those as well?!? read more

Just gonna copy my google review: I was excited to have panda in Ramona, but that excitement is gone. They've repeatedly messed up orders, provided mediocre service and to top it off, today I ordered one of the up charge dishes (some steak and shrimp thing) as one of my entrees, after watching the mgr (assuming the black shirts are managers) literally pick through and give me a portion that was pathetic and when I asked she showed me some laminate. Needless to say I won't be going back any time soon and walked out on my order. you want to up charge for a dish, fine, provide a decent portion and don't be petty. I'm glad there are other locations in my daily routine. To be fair I've had some good food and service from this location, but when it's a 50/50 chance, I'm out. read more

It's hard to imagine "Teriyaki Chicken" without a drop of teriyaki sauce. In fact, there's a little bowl of it in the picture on the Panda menu. But then...you go pick up your online order of at Ramona's Panda Express, and your little grilled "teriyaki" chicken strips are 100% dry. Oh boy..YUM!! Yep! ZERO sauce, not on the entree, not in a packet, not in a side container. No can do from the place where all they do is Chinese cuisine. And the pick-up order itself is already bagged and labeled as "ready"...you can't see inside the bag, & with the Covid etiquette, everyone knows it's sacrilege to open your food in public. We ordered online, and specifically requested an extra sauce packet of teriyaki, and even soy, & a chili sauce. When we got home NO SAUCES of any type were in the bag. Ramona is a big place -it's very rural. And we're still 15 minutes away each direction. I really wasn't going to make another 30 minute round-trip for a packet of teriyaki sauce. It should've been right. No excuse. Chinese is what they do, and teriyaki is a pretty big part of their menu. We didn't go in there and ask for a plate of spaghetti or rolled tacos with guacamole...just a splash of teriyaki on one of their signature dishes. Ramona Panda: nailing it...(like a coffin). read more
