Tried this place for the first time last week and it was better than expected…read more Everything was great. Veggies and spinach bun was a shareable appetizer of 2 buns. Kind of reminded me of the texture of spanakopita in a bun. They were generously filled and delicious. Yangzhou fried rice had a mix of scallops, shrimp, chicken and veggies. Portion was huge, husband could barely finish it. I ordered spicy wonton in chili oil, and mini spare ribs in black bean sauce dim sum. Loved them both. Seasonings and spice level were perfect. I'd order those again. We also got a selection of dumplings - pork and veggie shumai, steamed potstickers, and crystal shrimp dumplings. Loved all of them. I love the relaxed vibe here. Our server was attentive, professional and gave us space to enjoy our meal with minimum interruptions. We were greeted when we arrived and she waved goodbye when we left. While dining, I saw quite a number of takeout orders picked up by customers and dashers, which is something we'll definitely do in the future. The dining area and bar are in one big room with huge windows that make the space feel spacious and light. Even tho it's one big room, tables aren't crammed together. Music is low enough to talk at normal volume. We really enjoyed our first time here, plan to eat here again and highly recommend it if you haven't been.

It's pretty spacious inside tastefully decorated, and the staff is beyond friendly. Our waiter was especially attentive to keeping our water glasses filled and checking on us to make sure we had what we needed and that everything was to our liking. I don't remember the name of the dish my husband had but it was similar to Mongolian beef except it's loaded with a lot more vegetables, including mushrooms, and the sauce was very tasty. I had the Kung Pao chicken, and I loved the flavor. The chicken was juicy. The only thing I did not like about it was the amount of celery. I'm not a fan of celery and it was a ton so if I decide to get this dish again, I would ask for them to hold back on how much celery they put in or eliminate it altogether . Being so close to our house we shall definitely keep it in regular rotation!

Our server was so sweet and helpful and so was our hostess! Our food was delicious, fresh, and the portion sizes are excellent for the price!!! My husband always gets the sesame beef and rice, with a spring roll. I got the chicken lettuce wraps and an egg roll. Everything was excellent and the place is very clean and spacious! The ambiance is super relaxed, but the decor inside and details look fancy. Our server was very accommodating for our large family, and they were all so kind to us. We will most definitely be back, thank you for a great experience!

Over time though, maybe exacerbated by Covid like so many other things, the food went way downhill. I am really happy to report that not only is it back on top. It's better than it was when we first moved here. The food is great again, they've added some Thai dishes along with the Chinese, and they have totally refurbished the inside, making it a very welcoming space. Assuming it's under new ownership as I don't recognize anybody from back in the day but, hats off to the team. Nice to have you back and better than before House of Taipei!

An all time favorite place of mine that I've been a fan of since their first location! So happy to…read moresee how they've grown and created a beautiful space and resturant with their beautiful decoration, ambiance, and excellent service from the employees. Always my favorite place to go when I start to miss home and need some nostalgia and that home cooked meal feeling. My other favorite (not pictured) includes: Mango or watermelon jasmine tea, beef stew with rice, dan dan noodles, tornado potato, honestly any of the appetizer/street foods, home-made soy milk. Did I mention I loved this place?

After many years, I revisited this place for lunch at its new South Boulevard location…read more.. The new place was casual, yet chic and modern...and runs on this touch screen ordering process. I actually loved the bright, comfy vibe of the place. Thought it could use a bit louder music to fill the space. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, Rainbow Dumplings and this Mango Jasmine Tea drink...and they were all pretty good. Still, I was surprised how my bill totaled about 35 bucks. Normally, I'm not too surprised by the pricing (even for lunch), but it felt a bit high...given that everything was served on paper and plastic wares. I did like how they have these DIY take-home plastic wares accessible and ready to go...so some points for that! Overall, it's just a casual eatery...not a full scale restaurant. I prefer full scale service, complete with nicely plated presentations, but this type of DIY eatery is just something that's becoming more common.

I hadn't eaten here for about a decade but I was in the area so gave it a shot…read more At first, I wasn't going to give it a shot because there is a beat-up printer paper on the door--usually not a good sign. I went back to my car and looked up reviews before driving away. Most of the reviews were good. At that moment, I made a decision: "We're going in!" Even though 'we' is just me. Don't judge; I'm sure you do the same from time to time: consciously or subconsciously. I ordered a Quart of Wonton Soup (very exciting) and Roast Pork Lo Mein (pretty cool). The wait was 10-15 minutes and I paid ahead of time. It was $16 and change but the woman behind the counter stared with great anticipation if i would leave a tip. If I could go back, I wouldn't. For what? They're already marking up prices and this part was strange. Not a fan. Fortunately, the food was good. There were only five wontons (quart usually has 6-8) but it was very good!) The Roast Pork Lo Mein was also strong. It actually had too much Roast Pork for me. At this location, I might just get Chicken Lo Mein next time. But I have been seeing more TikToks with chickens on farms and they're pretty chill so maybe just Lo Mein. I would eat from here again. Hope that helped!
