The decor of the place is really cute and I think like all the lights and decorations amazing. The service was really great. They offered some candy and they even threw it through in something free for the wait. I ordered some noodles with dumplings and rice. I wasn't going to bash this place because they have good food, but this time I found a long black hair that was actually cooked into a grain of rice. I don't have black hair, i have blonde hair. I wasn't concerned about the money, but I wanted to call the store and tell them about it so no one else would have to pull someone elses hair out of their mouth. I called the store and the lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude and nasty and wouldn't even let me get a sentence out without yelling at me, I hadn't even told her what happened and she just started yelling at me for no reason. I had high hopes for Rice Box. But it did not meet my expectations. I am still searching for a very good Asian restaurant in Denver. The food was not very good. I ordered Thai Basil Chicken from the Signature Menu. It was 75% cabbage and no basil. The taste was just okay. I like cabbage but not this much! My wife had the Roasted Cashew Nut Chicken. She liked it but said she would order something different next time. The interiors were good and the service was acceptable. I had hibachi shrimp with vegetables, this was served on a pile of white rice with a strange flavor, the shrimp was cooked on the hibachi and was very dry, the vegetables had almost no flavor except the broccoli which was almost raw. So far Rice Box has been the best restaurant we have been able to find locally within 25 mins of us. The food was so good and tasted fresh. The flavor was near perfect. Baby and toddler friendly. We had our newborn, they have car seat sling seats, and our 2 year old with ASD. It was a nice calm and clean environment so our daughter was nice and relaxed. My family and I have been going to the rice box for probably about 8 years now. We have been to sushi restaurants all over the area and any state we go to and the rice box has been one of my all time favorites (so much so we drive 40 minutes one way just to go there) We have never had bad service, everyone is also so kind and quick. I have 3 kids and they go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable for them also. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is even better. I recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi and I will continue to go for years to come. It made me sad when they closed down the dining area but I'm so glad it's opened again!! read more

We have ordered takeout from here quite a few times since moving to Denver, really out of desperation to have some Asian food! They are an Asian fusion restaurant, but not sure what they primarily would say their specialty is? We have tried the Thai and the Japanese. It is definitely not either of those! Maybe it is the Chinese? But we do not really eat Chinese food. The food that we have got was not close to be in comparative to other Asian fusion restaurant serving similar things. Do you not get the pad Thai! I have attempted it a few times, and I am not sure what I was given, but that wasn't it! We are so limited on options here, I wish that this was a good option! I came in with my wife and sat at the table. We were there for nearly ten minutes, and no one had even brought us a menu. There were four pieces of grilled chicken which were also tasteless and on top of everything else wrong with the food the server was obnoxious , rude and condescending. Came in tonight and no one is here. Was kind of skeptical but as soon as we came in, we were greeted and immediately given our menus. We sat down took a quick look and was asked for our drinks. Was able to get drinks and appetizer orders in and received within 5 minutes. Both our edamame and potstickers were fresh and seasoned so perfectly. We placed our entree orders and it came out within 10 minutes. Portions were perfect size, and the food tasted amazing! Husband got the orange chicken with white rice and lo mein, and I got the hibachi chicken with white rice. The server was so attentive that we didn't feel the need to go eye searching. Yes, we understand we are the only ones in so it should be expected, but you would be surprised at how some places cannot provide great customer service even with one customer. I went to Rice Box yesterday. A large party of around 12 or so patrons was leaving when I walked in. No greeting, just seated. I ordered the Bento box. Substituted egg drop soup for the Miso soup ($2.00 xtra). The soup was the best part of the meal. It needed salt and pepper. I had to get up to ask for salt and pepper. The pepper shaker was DIRTY. I seriously almost walked out because it looked so nasty. I like crispy noodles with egg drop soup. There again, I had to get up and walk toward the register to make this request. The food in the Bento was ok. Chicken was very tender, almost slimy. Egg roll was not hot, nor was it crispy. They had it 1/2 in a cup of sweet/sour sauce. Crunchy shrimp roll had lettuce in it (is that normal?). Just a pea size amount of wasabi. Not enough for even 2 bites of sushi. Again, I had to get up and make that request. I was the ONLY patron in this establishment. The younger lady was not friendly. Neither was the 2 boys working there. There was a young woman, an older lady, a man and 2 high school boys working. They were all sitting eating their food. There was also a man who worked there eating at the other side of the restaurant. 5 people working. I'm the only one there. Never one time asked how my food was or if I needed anything. My check was $26.74 (beer was $7 can). I did not leave a tip. Such a disappointment. read more
