The food is always fesh, delicious, and plentiful. And the hot saki is a special spicy treat. Tonight, my partner enjoyed a hot saki while I delighted in an Austrlian White Wine of a Pear Muskato varity that crisply complemented the fish appetizer, sushi roll, and entre I chose. My partner enjoyed a Spicy Thai Pineapple Shrimp entre that he reported to be just right on the spice he loves to have firey and super flavorful. My stomach these days cannot handle much fire and spice & that was no problem at all. The chef adjusted my Thai Seafood Special Delight in Spicy House Brown Sauce to a tasty House Brown Sauce without the bite but with lots of luscious flavor. Yum! I could not eat it all of course, so I'm going to be in heaven all day tomorrow with our leftpvers. And the real treat of the night was the Naruto appetizer featuring chunks of various tuna & other fresh fish bites wrapped in cucumber with veggies and fruit, Wow! I was delighted. And the "Oh, My God" sushi roll was delicious as well. Still I am surprised at how the Naruto turned out to be my favorite spot light of the meal. The owners, chefs, servers, and all staff look out for their customers needs with genuine care and attention. I really like all of the employees in this business, which very much works like a close family. Rice Box is our favorite Asian Restaurant in Denver. And we love the variety offered in this casual dinning environment that features (1) a long bar for drinks and watching the sue chef's skills, (2) movable cozy tables for 2 or 4 that can be pushed together, and (3) booths that include booth table combos along a front and back wall, with table portions that can also be pushed together for medium to larger size parties. So far Rice Box has been the best restaurant we have been able to find locally within 25 mins of us. The food was so good and tasted fresh. The flavor was near perfect. Baby and toddler friendly. We have ordered takeout from here quite a few times since moving to Denver, really out of desperation to have some Asian food! They are an Asian fusion restaurant, but not sure what they primarily would say their specialty is? We have tried the Thai and the Japanese. It is definitely not either of those! Maybe it is the Chinese? But we do not really eat Chinese food. The food that we have got was not close to be in comparative to other Asian fusion restaurant serving similar things. Do you not get the pad Thai! I have attempted it a few times, and I am not sure what I was given, but that wasn't it! We are so limited on options here, I wish that this was a good option! My family and I have been going to the rice box for probably about 8 years now. We have been to sushi restaurants all over the area and any state we go to and the rice box has been one of my all time favorites (so much so we drive 40 minutes one way just to go there) We have never had bad service, everyone is also so kind and quick. I have 3 kids and they go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable for them also. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is even better. I recommend this place to anyone who likes sushi and I will continue to go for years to come. It made me sad when they closed down the dining area but I'm so glad it's opened again!! read more

I came in with my wife and sat at the table. We were there for nearly ten minutes, and no one had even brought us a menu. There were four pieces of grilled chicken which were also tasteless and on top of everything else wrong with the food the server was obnoxious , rude and condescending. Came in tonight and no one is here. Was kind of skeptical but as soon as we came in, we were greeted and immediately given our menus. We sat down took a quick look and was asked for our drinks. Was able to get drinks and appetizer orders in and received within 5 minutes. Both our edamame and potstickers were fresh and seasoned so perfectly. We placed our entree orders and it came out within 10 minutes. Portions were perfect size, and the food tasted amazing! Husband got the orange chicken with white rice and lo mein, and I got the hibachi chicken with white rice. The server was so attentive that we didn't feel the need to go eye searching. Yes, we understand we are the only ones in so it should be expected, but you would be surprised at how some places cannot provide great customer service even with one customer. I went to Rice Box yesterday. A large party of around 12 or so patrons was leaving when I walked in. No greeting, just seated. I ordered the Bento box. Substituted egg drop soup for the Miso soup ($2.00 xtra). The soup was the best part of the meal. It needed salt and pepper. I had to get up to ask for salt and pepper. The pepper shaker was DIRTY. I seriously almost walked out because it looked so nasty. I like crispy noodles with egg drop soup. There again, I had to get up and walk toward the register to make this request. The food in the Bento was ok. Chicken was very tender, almost slimy. Egg roll was not hot, nor was it crispy. They had it 1/2 in a cup of sweet/sour sauce. Crunchy shrimp roll had lettuce in it (is that normal?). Just a pea size amount of wasabi. Not enough for even 2 bites of sushi. Again, I had to get up and make that request. I was the ONLY patron in this establishment. The younger lady was not friendly. Neither was the 2 boys working there. There was a young woman, an older lady, a man and 2 high school boys working. They were all sitting eating their food. There was also a man who worked there eating at the other side of the restaurant. 5 people working. I'm the only one there. Never one time asked how my food was or if I needed anything. My check was $26.74 (beer was $7 can). I did not leave a tip. Such a disappointment. read more
