Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. The juicy pork dumplings as well as the spicy wontons were also a fan favorite amongst the entire family. While the dumpling skins were a bit thicker than I would have preferred, it was very meaty and the sauces were tasty. All of these had this solo diner doing a seated happy dance and smiling at anyone who dared to glance in whilst passing by outside. HEAVEN! The full flavor of each delicacy was better than I remember. While I thoroughly enjoyed each and every "little heart", I was so very happy to see that Ixlb Dim Sum uses chunks of real shrimp in the Har Gow. Recently, I've noticed a switch at other places to shrimp paste. They might fill the rice wrapper, but when you break it open, it's paste. At Ixlb, the quality was obvious. And that was true for each dish. While I'm basking in the glow that is this culinary delight, I notice a lady and gentleman walking around the tables, greeting customers, exchanging pleasantries and making sure everything stays clean and inviting. Ah! The heart of the business! Lovely people! Before I almost forget about continuing to my friend's house, I grabbed TWO MORE orders. The beautiful, graceful lady I assume to be one of the owners I saw earlier, hands me one bag, then I point to the other. She does a double take and realizes, indeed, they are both mine. This makes her smile even brighter. I rub my belly and proclaim proudly, 'HO HO SIC!' In cantonese this means 'the most delicious to eat' and I mean it. Her eyes go big with surprise and we both laugh and she nods, knowingly. I am definitely NOT the first to tell her this and I won't be the last. For my friend, I brought the signature Xiao Long Bao-5pc, Edamame, Baked Char Siu Bao-3pc, Chicken Siu Mai(again), Har Gow(again) and Baked Egg Custard Tarts-3pc. Then, I hid some goodies for me "for later": Sesame Balls(yes, I KNOOOOW, I have a problem!) and Vegetarian Garlic Noodles - YUM!!! When I got to her house and opened everything up she asked, 'Who's going to eat all this?!' 'Oh saaa-weetie! No need to worry about a thing and there's MORE where this came from!' They never rush you, but get your food out fast. We always get a bunch for the table and share. It was sweet, refreshing, and honestly one of the better Mai Tais I've had -- you could barely taste the alcohol, which I personally loved. The cucumber drink, on the other hand, was pretty gross. That being said, I don't really hold that against the restaurant because it wasn't actually a menu item. I had asked if they could make me something without alcohol that was more juice-based, and they were kind enough to accommodate me, so I do appreciate that. The only thing I initially had an issue with food-wise was the chow mein. It was a HUGE portion, but it had an unusually sour taste. At first, I assumed it was just the seasoning because it was very heavily seasoned, so I didn't think too much of it at the time. Unfortunately, this ended up being pretty important later. As for the restaurant itself, the ambiance was fantastic. It was very moody and had a really cool atmosphere, which I loved. I even asked for permission to take some photos with my digital camera while I was there, and they were nice enough to let me. About an hour after eating, I started vomiting profusely. I had been in the car for a while afterward, so initially I assumed it was just motion sickness. However, the vomiting continued, along with other symptoms, for several days. I wasn't sure what had caused it until I received a call from my friend, who had eaten dinner with me that night. She was extremely sick as well. This was actually our first time seeing each other in a long time, so we found it very strange that we both became sick after the same meal. The situation became even more concerning because of the leftover chow mein. Since it was such a large portion, I had taken some home. Because I was too sick to eat it, I ended up dropping it off at my dad's house so he could have it. Unfortunately, he also became very ill after eating it. So, my friend, my dad, and I all became seriously ill after eating the chow mein. My friend eventually had to go to the ER, where she was diagnosed with a foodborne illness. Obviously, there's no way for me to definitively prove that the illness came from this restaurant, and I want to be fair about that. However, the circumstances are difficult to ignore. The chow mein was the only dish that all three of us had in common, it already tasted unusually sour when I ate it, and all three people who consumed it became extremely sick afterward. I also tried calling the restaurant multiple times to make them aware of what happened, but unfortunately, I never received an answer. I really wanted to enjoy this place because the food, drinks, and atmosphere were genuinely good, but unfortunately, getting sick with days of vomiting and diarrhea completely overshadowed the experience. I would have appreciated at least being able to speak with someone from the restaurant about what happened.

For dessert, we had the Mango Sticky Rice--Thai mango served with glutinous rice drizzled in coconut milk.
