Tuesday closing team killed it. We came in 30 mins to closing looking for a late night dinner. Emily and the rest of the staff were efficient and friendly, the food was great as always. They always make sure to keep things fresh and refilled. Thank you Panda squad!

Service was actually amazing but food was darn inedible I had clunks of burnt rice scraping my mouth and I thought oh maybe just a few bad rice areas then I pick this up and threw the tray away ! Won't ever eat here again , I feel sorry for the worker who are taking orders their energy is great cooks just don't care I assume

Very bad service, it really matters who you are and when you go there. The manager Alex handled my order, asking me to move along and he would "have the order ready," skimming the portion of the entree. I've been there many times and never had an issue but probably choosing Panda Express was not a good idea an hour before closing. The associate that "helped" me out at the next section didn't even acknowledge my presence even though I was sent there early because of Alex. He just grabbed the bag of food and indicated he would help me at the second register when I was planning on getting egg rolls from his section. After realizing I was still purchasing, the young man grabbed my wanted egg rolls but forgot to add the sauce in the bag. I get home, hungry and craving this meal only to open the container and see 7 pieces of shrimp. I calculated meaning I was paying at least $1 per shrimp snd that's after generously deducting the price of the egg rolls and rice. Once again, I was a regular customer here but I doubt I will step into that store again.

I've been coming here for a while and I have to say the service is quick and the staff is very friendly. The food is very good and hits the spot when you're starving will definitely be coming back.

I came here for lunch today and decided to get a bigger bowl. I gotta say they cooked the broccoli and orange chicken very well it wasn't to crunchy. Also the veggie and nonveggie roll were bomb as heck. They have great customer service. All in all this is why I gave them five stars.

This is not what I ordered at all.

I ordered a delivery last night and to my surprise I ended up not getting what I ordered and was not able to eat dinner. So instead of sending me dinner last night, the store gives me a credit for some other night so last night I had to go hungry because I can't eat the stuff. It's been almost $30 to have it delivered for the wrong stuff. Shame on them.

Places an order through uber eats. I was happy to find my straw in the bag BUT No Soy sauce, no utensils, no napkins How am I supposed to eat?

Anything you can eat you any night you don't have to cook is usually a great night out. This evening was no exception. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. Everything was prepared wonderfully and had tremendous flavor. I recommend trying their Hui Tou, stuffed with pork or beef, pork and leek pancakes, they also have vegetarian options. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

Our go-to dishes are the cucumber salad (refreshing and perfectly crunchy), green scallion pancakes (especially good with the chili sauce), pork shumai (better than Din Tai Fung imo), and the spicy pork wontons. On our most recent visit, we tried the sesame noodles, and I've been daydreaming about them ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the vibes inside are great, and there's a solid drink selection with cocktails, draft beer, and bottled options. And the price point? Outrageously reasonable, especially in this economy. Consistently delicious food, great service, and incredible value. Highly recommend!

It's a chain, but the food prep is first rate, and it's definitely several notches above fast food, though this location has retained the furnishings of a Greek gyro spot that was much more of a grab and go type of place. That said, the decor is a bit rundown, but in this neighborhood that's not unexpected. They keep things clean and I had no reservations about settling into a seat. Portions are generous, especially for the modest prices. Pan fried chicken dumplings come 8 to an order, and they're very plump pouches to be sure. Freshly made and piping hot, the filling was very tasty and very much on par with some of the fancy dumpling places so popular around town right now. Dan Dan Noodles were also a hefty portion, served in a large ramen style bowl, and reaching close to the rim. The chewy noodles had an appealing flavor of their own, but the star here is the minced pork that's simmered in a sauce distinctly different than most iterations of the dish. Rather than the typical sesame sauce, this was dark and thinner (almost but not quite like a broth), deeply and richly flavored with 5-spice. It had some spiciness to it, but not too much, and I actually added some of the house-made chili crisp to dial up the heat. As I said, this was only meant to be a snack, and we took home half the food, so we didn't get to sample any of the other very appealing items in the menu -- but folks at neighboring tables were having a very good time sharing a wide variety of dishes, all of which were generously portioned and looked very tasty. Our only complaint: the restrooms were in very bad condition and really needed some work. Aside from that, we were very happy, and we'll be back soon to try more of the menu.

Each time I think back to my days in HK and Kowloon and think, they can't really be as good as I remember, right?!? OOOOOOHHHHHHH.....MAN! I don't think I can remember the last time I was THIS wrong. Except for that time I bought an eraser - but I digress.... After a disappointing taste of lackluster sesame balls in OC, I HAD to find some true-to-form(pun intended) golf ball sized, stuffed with red bean paste yumminess - STAT. But did I want to venture to SGV? NO! I just KNEW there had to be a closer option. On the way to a friend's house today, I remembered the cute little bao, smiling at me as I drove through Hollywood. Go. Get. That. BAO!!!! I got that bao AND my fave treat, the sesame balls! SO GOOD!!! I can't wait to go back and try more and I may even invite some Yelp friends along for the experience. Because this wasn't just a run in and pick-up, this was a neighborhood experience like I haven't had in awhile. Sunday, 11:30am. I walk in and clock the large center table filled with a family I'll venture to guess is visiting from somewhere currently experiencing much colder weather than our March 1 sunshine high of 84. I make my way to the touch screen and start my order before finding a corner seat looking out at Sunset Blvd. It's not long before my name is called and a friendly lady with smiling eyes, masked face, gloved hands and wearing an apron sets my goodies down at my spot. I am immediately surprised and pleased with how everything looks and smells. Certainly cleaner and even more enticing than the "Fragrant Harbor" of the South China Sea. My first round (yes, I said FIRST - don't judge) consisted of Chicken Siu Mai-4pc, Har Gow(shrimp)-4pc, Sticky Rice Ball-3pc and, of course, Sesame Balls-3pc. All of these had this solo diner doing a seated happy dance and smiling at anyone who dared to glance in whilst passing by outside. HEAVEN! The full flavor of each delicacy was better than I remember. While I thoroughly enjoyed each and every "little heart", I was so very happy to see that Ixlb Dim Sum uses chunks of real shrimp in the Har Gow. Recently, I've noticed a switch at other places to shrimp paste. They might fill the rice wrapper, but when you break it open, it's paste. At Ixlb, the quality was obvious. And that was true for each dish. While I'm basking in the glow that is this culinary delight, I notice a lady and gentleman walking around the tables, greeting customers, exchanging pleasantries and making sure everything stays clean and inviting. Ah! The heart of the business! Lovely people! Before I almost forget about continuing to my friend's house, I grabbed TWO MORE orders. The beautiful, graceful lady I assume to be one of the owners I saw earlier, hands me one bag, then I point to the other. She does a double take and realizes, indeed, they are both mine. This makes her smile even brighter. I rub my belly and proclaim proudly, 'HO HO SIC!' In cantonese this means 'the most delicious to eat' and I mean it. Her eyes go big with surprise and we both laugh and she nods, knowingly. I am definitely NOT the first to tell her this and I won't be the last. For my friend, I brought the signature Xiao Long Bao-5pc, Edamame, Baked Char Siu Bao-3pc, Chicken Siu Mai(again), Har Gow(again) and Baked Egg Custard Tarts-3pc. Then, I hid some goodies for me "for later": Sesame Balls(yes, I KNOOOOW, I have a problem!) and Vegetarian Garlic Noodles - YUM!!! When I got to her house and opened everything up she asked, 'Who's going to eat all this?!' 'Oh saaa-weetie! No need to worry about a thing and there's MORE where this came from!' While parking caaaaaan be a challenge, it will not deter me in the least from returning to this location. I will also check out their Westwood Village location as well. The value for the amount of food, the quality, taste and SERVICE deserve a rarely given 5 stars from me. Cheers! "CC"

We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.

This place is by far my favorite Thai restaurant and that's why it's so disheartening to write this…read morereview. I have written at least 2 glowing reviews of the restaurant in the past and wish this could be one of them, but it's not. Over the last 4-5 days I have tried no less than 2 dozen times to call the restaurant during proper business hours to order food for pick-up as I often do. The phone rang and rang to no avail. I live too far from the restaurant to just pop up and place an order so I rely on calling ahead. I have been a customer of this restaurant for at least the last 9 years and have almost never had the aforementioned experience. Though I do recall not being able to get a call through several times on one or two occasions in the relatively distant past. Today I was finally able to get a call through and began placing my order which includes shrimp. I ALWAYS request the tail (with shells) to be removed from the shrimp as I find it quite difficult to enjoy my meal if I'm constantly having to pick off shells with my hands. It's unsanitary and messy. Removing the tails from 15-20 shrimp prior to adding to an entree or soup should take no more than 60 seconds and that's if one is moving at a glacial pace. However, today I was told that the kitchen was too busy to honor my request. I assured the lady taking my order than I was a loyal customer and make this request will every order I place and it is always honored. She repeated her claim that the kitchen was too busy and refused to do it. I cancelled my order and ended the call. Now I usually order food from the restaurant 4-5 times a month and usually spend about $65 each time not including tip. That is approximately $325 per month of my hard earned money that I give to this restaurant in exchange for great food and service. I am appalled and quite upset that having been a loyal customer for almost a decade and spending as much money there as I do per month that they could at least honor my patronage by simply taking an additional 60 seconds in the kitchen to make my meal more enjoyable. Her refusal to do such a minuscule task has deeply soured my experience with Hoy-Ka not to mention the fact that I could not reach the restaurant for almost a week by phone for no apparent reason. I will not be going back to this restaurant until they rectify this situation.
