This place was pretty quick and fast. It's my first time at this location. Generally, I love Panda Express and I'm new to this area. I usually go to the Casa grande or Tempe location. So on this particular day, I was craving a orange chicken bowl, and drove 15 min out of the way to get it. Typically, I would imagine that you would get roughly the same experience at a chain restaurant. This one however, wasn't one of my best experiences. The service was good, quick and fast. My wife went and picked up some Panda from this location. They gave her all shrimp and she is allergic to shrimp. My entire meal was disgusting, I ordered a bigger plate with orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and honey walnut shrimp with rice and chow mien half and half. The orange chicken was okay at best, the honey walnut shrimp tasted like it sat there for over 5 hours. The noodles and rice both were plain no flavor, the worst of all was the teriyaki chicken. There was no teriyaki sauce, the chicken tasted like it was cooked and then sat too long and recooked and then dried and then heat up in the microwave. This used to be a good location to get decent Panda Express. The last three times we went to this location they have messed up our food. All we ask is they give us a little Teriyaki Sauce on the Teriyaki Chicken and a small amount on the rice. They failed to comprehend this and they leave the sauce off the food. So, this time my wife ordered it to go. She said she wanted the sauce on the side. Our hope was that we could put it on exactly how we like it. When she got home...no sauce in the bag and none on the food. The chicken was dry and the rice was too. I made a call and asked the person who answered (Christine) if I could speak to the manager. She told me the manager called in sick. So I asked if I could speak to the person in charge. She said yes...then hung up on me. I repeated this call 5 more times. The 2nd time she stated she was the person in charge...and again hang up on me. If the way they handle customer service is to hang up on people and not give good quality food, then it is time to move on to a better restaurant for now on. I plan to follow up with their management tomorrow and I am sending this information to their corporate office. This place is absolutely ridiculous and dirty as hell. I walk in to order food and use the restroom. My husband walks in behind me. I ask to use the restroom while we waited in line. The girls working said I had to order first. I said I'm waiting in line. I'm going to pee my pants please. They kept ignoring me. I said please they said order first. This place knows nothing about customer service. We walked out and went to wing stop next door. They allowed me to use the restroom and then order food. Panda had trash all hanging out of the trash cans, there was also food particles and stuff spilled in the counter. This Panda Express messed up our order so many times in one day. Our food was to go and they gave us the wrong order then we went back to return the food, and again they gave us the wrong order. We should have checked it but we thought that they got it right the second time around. They gave us broccoli and beef which was mostly broccoli and gave us someone else shrimp. Sarah, that does the drive-thru needs to go thru some refresher training on how to speak to customers ,and take orders properly. So we went here on Saturday evening at around 8pm. We ordered (4)-2 entree plates...It started out fine. I was greeted over the mic and asked if I'd like to try the Sichuan Chicken, where I said, "No Thank You." SARAH, then said, "How can I take your order?" I ordered 1- 2 entree plate, and Sarah assumed that was all I was ordering cause she said what to drink, and that'll be $$$. I explained,"Oh, I'm not done". Ordered my next 2 entree plate, and again she tried to complete my order...I first I thought she was just being funny, but that wasn't the case. After telling her I would be ordering a total of 4 Orders which I shouldn't have to do, she sounded almost annoyed with US. I was unaware of the fact that you have a limit to what you can order here. I also asked for Hot Mustard and she said they were OUT... Her whole demeanor came across that I was annoying her, and that she was in a huge hurry to get off work soon. I don't get how a busy restaurant can be out of an ingredient like that on a SATURDAY night, but I can live with it. I understand things happen. I'll chalk that up as a Manager Error. I'm a very easy going person....It takes a lot to bother me, but an entitled young lady trying to rush me through my order is not something I enjoyed dealing with Saturday night. The moral of the story is: As a former Manager/Business Owner...When a position requires 1on1 interactions with other human beings..pick someone who enjoys that type of position. Anyone who knows me - and that's you, buddy - know I (used to) love Panda Express. Enough to keep menus up at my desk at work to advertise. Note: they are coming down tomorrow. Yeah, I've been lazy up to this point, but now that this is in print, I gotta keep up with my obligations. I just can't take it anymore. The prices increase with...every...single...visit. As does the wait in the drive thru. My first experience with both the price gouging and the 8 minute wait through the drive thru (God, I'd pray for 8 minutes now) I thought: "Well, the food is still great and this might be a one-time occurrence." But, just in case, on the next visit, I timed the experience - clocked at 12 minutes - and I almost asked for a discount, you know, to bring back the price to the previous visit. My reasoning for the markdown? Duh, gas prices have increased. I'm not dumb or ignorant enough not to know the two are intertwined, but like a lot of other Americans, I will be finding another place to spend my money for a better value. Panda has done NOTHING to convince me to return. Well, aside from the cuddly bears in their marketing. Okay, okay, I kinda like those talking pandas, but it's not working. Still, I rate Panda Express 2/5 stars because I still love their food. I can't find Beijing Beef anywhere else and that's my favorite. Also, their "Chow Mein" - by the way, guys, that's more like LO MEIN, but still - is good as is their Orange Chicken (though I've had much better at a Chinese Buffet.) Unfortunately, you'll have to pay an extra dollar for shrimp items, and take my word for it: it's not worth it. I'd barely order them at the same price. Lesson? Don't choose the Drive Thru, save up for your yearly visit there - as I will, but can a restaurant stay open if that's the case? - and prepare for a long wait if you don't go inside. I don't understand why it's always such a problem getting sauce with our order! The food is always great but I need some soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce. I gave up on asking for sweet and sour because I just hate the attitude and the eye rolling when I ask. But I at least have to have some soy sauce for my rice. I ordered 4 dinner plates and even donated to the charity they are raising money for and all I asked was for extra soy and chili sauce. Got home and literally had two packets in the bag. Panda express is easily one of the best restaurants in the history of food service. However, DO NOT go to 9111 n 59th ave, 85302 (59th/Olive). The service is absolute garbage. Every time I go to this location they ask me to wait just a few minutes, and I end up waiting more than 30 minutes. Please, just take 15 extra minutes to drive to a different location. Even though you're driving an extra 15 minutes, you're actually saving yourself 15+ minutes because this location is going to make you wait 30+ minutes. Their excuse is always "we looked for you but couldn't find you". Just go to ANY other panda express and I'm sure that you'll receive excellent food and excellent customer service. read more
