Today we decided to go to panda to take advantage of their drive thru. We ended up eating inside because there was a long line at the drive thru. As we finished ordering our food we noticed a group of people walk in with red Panda Express shirts. After a while we noticed that a man with a gray shirt was the owner of Panda Express. It was nice to see the owner of an establishment interact with customers and employees. He actually took time to talk to us. We ordered for dine in and after completing our order your staff handed me my orders so I got it and went to the cashier. And right away she said "no cutting in line!!!" Wow ... !!! First of all, THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD! Secondly, this Americanized-Chinese food is not cooked well AT ALL! And the service? Let's just say that the workers there have to be paid minimum wage! They don't even deserve that! The service is horrible, like most "service" in the Chula Vista area. I have lived in the Chula Vista area since late 1989. Chula Vista is a great place to live. However, the downside is the service in retail stores and restaurants. In general, service is terrible in this area, in general. On Friday night at about 8:30 PM I went through the drive-thru window. When I ordered, the girl at the other end could not understand what I ordered, so I had to repeat the order. And, before anyone thinks otherwise, I was born and raised in California and do not have any hint of an accent. I ordered the Beijing Beef, Broccoli Beef, Mandarin Chicken, and chicken breast with green beans, and fried rice. The broccoli beef looked and tasted like it had been sitting overnight. It was mushy and the beef was tough! The Mandarin chicken looked old, like it had been sitting overnight. It had a dark look to it. The rice seemed undercooked and hard, with no taste. The green beans with chicken breast was the best, as it was freshly cooked. All in all, this was $14 wasted on barely edible food! Like another poster stated, when I got home the napkins looked used. They were crumpled up and wadded up. Why? Why can't grown people place napkins neatly in the take-home bag? Why? The people that work there have no pride at all in what they do. Oh, and by the way, the next time you go to a Panda Express, look and see who is cooking the food. Is it any wonder that the food is barely edible? Never again, I am done with giving money away to this establishment. The manager and workers there have no pride in what they sell... You are better off going to the "99 Cent" Chinese restaurant located next to the Vons on Third Street. That food at least tastes good and is hot. They always get my order wrong. Today was the last straw. Tina who took my order on the drive thru not only got my order wrong but double charged me. When I went inside to get the order corrected she had the audacity to start arguing with me. I get the same thing every time i go. I know exactly how much it cost. Just was at this incredibly rude establishment. it's a fast food restaurant and foremost you are open so make some food! We get there and they have literally a choice of five items and only two servings of rice, but as we are making our selection the drive thru girl JASMIN comes over and takes all the food for a drive thru customer that came in after us. I love panda and I've been coming to this one for a long time but recently it hasn't been good quality, or how it used to.. Definitely recommend some other panda place.. I ate a orange chicken piece and when i got home my stomach started hurting before i even ate my food plate. Only if i am starving and the next food place is 100 miles away I will think of eating Panda Express, maybe. I got half and half of fried rice and noodles with sesame chicken breast. The rice and noodles were both under cooked. The sesame chicken breast was ok. At least it looked like real chicken. My kids got a cookie for their desert. Both refused to eat their under cooked rice and noodles and even refused to eat their cookie after tasting it. Sad that the quality has gone down the drain.. read more

Worst Panda Express in San Diego! I've been there three times and every time I have to wait a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes at the drive thru! I brought the problem up with Michele the supervisor and asked her to walk outside to see how long the drive thru line was and how it's interfering with parking..... I'm hoping she puts effort in speeding up the drive thru.... Avoid going to this Panda Express.... poor customer service and poor drive thru service. When I last ate here I was very disappointed they basically were out of everything, they asked me if I wanted to wait for fresh chicken and so I did, after my chicken was done I wanted some fried rice and they told me that a customer that had came in after us already ordered that item ??? I order 2 plates and I had to wait four minutes for beef and broccoli and I also got honey walnut shrimp, well I waited 20 min and you think they would have got my order right. Nope of course not, I don't even get my shrimp and the beef and broccoli isn't even hot. It's like Luke warm. Well I was hungry when I got there and well what's five minutes right, well I turned into a rage monster for my food, five minutes turning into 20 was not part of the plan. I just wanted to get home and eat that my monster didn't check the order before I left. So check your food make sure if you ordered Shrimp that those yummy shrimp are in there. If I have to wait just cut through the crap and tell me your going to put my order to the side and forget about my order all together. I would have got something else. I will never eat here again... I ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl and made me wait 20 minutes outside their parking lot along with other cars. I then got Salmonella poisoning because someone decided to not wash their hands when they were grilling the chicken.... This is disgusting and I was ill in bed for almost a week with a fever. I can tell it was the chicken because hours later after eating I started vomiting and got really sick. 7$ cost me almost up to 200$ of medical bills and medications. Ugggggh I'm sick of coming here because I'm too lazy to go to the Panda Express on Broadway. The one I usually go to is not a drive thru but this one is the closest. Everytime I come here I always encounter something. I love Panda, although it's not authentic Chinese food it gets the job done, it is fast food, or at least at most Pandas. I'm tired of waiting over 30 minutes to even place an order and you can't even drive off because the parking lot is small so you're basically trapped. I finally pull up to order after 40 minutes of waiting in the drive thru. They offered me a free sample and I said sure, the ordering process was probably the less stressful part of coming here to this particular Panda Express. Except for the fact that they expect you to order one thing and constantly ask "Any thing else" as if they're trying to rush my order. Whatever. Anyways I pull up to the window and they ask if I would like to round up to the nearest dollar for some charity and I said sure, I guess. The chick gave me my food and said "Thank you, goodbye." I was wondering why I didn't get a free sample they offered? I was so irritated already so I was like okay whatever and drove off realizing I didn't receive my DRINK that I ordered. I barely come to this one and I always forget that this place ALWAYS forgets to give you your drink if you go through the drive thru. I was definitely pissed. There were too many cars surrounding the building so I said f*** it I'm leaving, I don't have time to go in and complain. Waited 40 minutes in the drive through, was being rushed through my ordered, didn't get a free sample they offered, donated to their charity and I guess I donated to Panda Express because I didn't receive my drink. I don't ever want to come back to this one. My cashier was Darianna (that's what it said on my receipt), thanks for rushing me and ruining my experience. I was calm through it all because I also work for customer service but this was HORRIBLE. I would atleast offer some type of compensation for the wait but they didn't offer any. I usually love Panda Express but tonight I was left disappointed and disgusted! I got home only to find a cooked roach under my orange chicken after I had taken several bites :( I was horrified and I called to speak to a manager and I let her know I wanted my money back. So when I get there she asked to see my food and I told her the roach was in the napkin. She looked at it and said it wasn't a bug it was food. I'm not dumb and I know what a roach looks like, so yes I did leave with my money back. I'm very disappointed because orange chicken is my favorite. I'm sorry but I won't be eating there anymore. Everything about this place is a big NO. They're stingy with the portions, the selection they have now is either shrimp, chicken or beef and they all taste the same. What ever happened to BBQ Pork? Why in gods name is the teriyaki chicken grilled then left to shrivel up and dry? What happened to the Tofu and Eggplant ???? Their customer service is terrible especially while you order because they either don't reply or they're just fooling around. If you want to have real Chinese food, avoid this place. I've been wanting Panda Express since being discharged from the skilled nursing facility after my hip replacement. I was so looking forward to driving to this location near my house since it had been months since I drove anywhere by myself and after months of hospital food I was ready to splurge. The omen was that the Beijing beef wasn't ready yet so I requested kung pao and orange chicken. The bag contained the right amount of items but the entree box was missing the orange chicken so it made it more obvious that the king pao was missing chicken. There were 8 bits of chicken. I counted them cuz I split them with my dog. What happened to this place? It had been at least 8 mos since being there. Very disappointed. read more

I came to this location right before closing, I believe I was there last dine in customer. When I came in it was around 10:05 it was clear that the staff was rushing to pre-close. I manage kitchens so I didn't think much of it other then the fact that it was still 30 mins before closing and they had already clear out all the food and I had to wait 15-20mins for my food. While I was waiting I was so stocked at how the staff was treating the customers after me. A group came in around 10:15 and all three Celica Graciela Brooke yelled at the same time we are closed! And continued to talk poorly about the incoming customers. They refused to give a customer a cup of water because the soda machine was turn off but why???? You haven't closed yet. The customers before me had to figure out how to turn on the soda machine to serve themselves the soda they purchased? While waiting one of the staff in Spanish asked why i was staying there waiting like that, I know Spanish so I answered because they had pushed my bowl to the side and they forgot about it. I understand wanting to maximize your time and pre close properly but you still shouldn't forget to be polite and professional. read more

One of my two go to places for take out Chinese food. The food is well prepared and always fresh. I usually use the drive through and it can get backed up at prime times but they have never messed up my order. The staff has always been friendly. I usually do the on line survey on the back of the receipt and get a free item next time I go. And now I am craving Chinese BBQ pork, dang it! read more

I come here because it's a drive-thru option. I have mixed reviews. Some days the food is hot, some days the food is cold. Some days you can get someone who understands what you're ordering. Some days, you feel as if you're in another country ordering your food. Ok....when you want some Panda at like 9 or 10 at night...take your happy ass this location! I don't know why I even go to the one off National anymore. Got here at 10pm (the drive thru closes at 10:30) and they didn't have Honey Walnut Shrimp (which is soooo yummy), instead of telling me I'm assed out, they made some. The one on National will just tell you what they are out of with a long 'sorrrry'. So, I ordered the food and get to the window, they offer a sample of their surf and turf, and then ask me to please wait in front for our food. Usually don't have a problem with this place but tonight driving through the drive thru the worker in the window her name on her name tag was Maryann was extremely rude. She handed us our food and immediately walked away. We had to wait because they didn't give us any of our sauces for our food when the sauce is supposed to come with it. (Such as the cream cheese ragoons I didn't receive any sauce with). Then when we went to ask her for some she rolled her eyes and walked away. When she came back she still forgot my sauce for the ragoons so she asked when she passed again and still saw us what we wanted with a rude tone of voice. This place is fine.
