We went here for the first time. We saw a reel from someone on a social platform, and we decided to give it a try. The food was good and fairly quickly made. My wife liked it too. The ambiance was very casual and family oriented. It gave me Tijuana Chinese food vibes, including the fish tank by the entrance. That is pretty common in Tijuana's Chinese food places. The service was good, attentive and consistent. Why not five stars? The food was good but too salty for my taste, but that is not why. The menu was a bit confusing. The plate-combinations are not available, and it wasn't clear on the menu. The family packages options were not available as shown unless there were 6 of us. It was my wife and I. I would've paid for the additional items if they would offer them to us, but it was a very yay or nay situation. The staff here is very welcoming and provides great customer service. The food was good, but not great, except for the lo mein noodles, which were delicious. The main reason for the 4 rating is the fish tank. The fish seemed a bit neglected, and the setup felt very minimal no caves, plants, or enrichment to keep them engaged. My husband's coworker recommended this place and told us it was better than our usual so so we decided to try it out. It was so easy to place our order over the phone. The food tasted good. The restaurant was clean just the parking lot was not the greatest but not their fault. I blame in n out and all the high school kids but thats out of their control. Prices were good as well. Located in Chula Vista, San Diego, Mandarin Beijing is a very consistent place for made-to-order Americanized Chinese Food. Entrees run for about $20, and you can get all of the classics. The thing to know is that locals come here for their salt and pepper chicken wings, a regional favorite. Variations elsewhere aren't really the same and it's what my wife craves when we're here in her hometown. Mandarin Beijing serves the wings in a light, crispy, thinly battered tempura-like coating with flavors from salt, pepper, garlic, green onions, and a ton of MSG. It's craveable and delicious and it makes a regular appearance at family holiday parties in Chula Vista. When we were in town for Christmas, there were dozens of people getting party trays of the stuff. While this is largely a local's spot for Chinese food, if you do actually come to Chula Vista from out of town and you opt to eat here, then make sure you get the chicken wings. read more

We came in pretty late on Halloween night, and even though it was close to closing, they still welcomed us in with amazing customer service. Everyone was so kind and accommodating, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The food was so good! The chicken was perfectly crispy, super fresh, and not too salty. The wonton soup was delicious and so comforting, and our server even scooped it into individual bowls for us, which I thought was really nice. The fried rice was really tasty too, and I loved that it wasn't overly oily like at some other places I've tried. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Ordered their Salt-n-peppers wing, chop sui and BBQ pork to take home for a FIFA watching party. The bbq was probably the best I've ever had, truly. The outside of the pork was caramelized with the sweet red sauce, but the actual meat was super tender (not dried out at all) the wings were great, always consisten. I needed a location to celebrate my birthday in Chula Vista. Mandarin Beijing was very accommodating in my reservation. Family members kept adding people that we had 17 people when dinner came around. It was a tight fit and we were warned. The place is big enough to accommodate a party no more than 15 comfortably. But they were wonderful and did the best they could. I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't take any photos from this meal. We were accommodated by a long table and everyone passed the plates and bowls around. The food delicious and well portioned. Service was wonderful and they did inform us that there would be a gratuity fee which was understandable with the size of the party. Everyone was happy with the food and service. I also ordered orange chicken for my daughter but she did not liked it because she is used to panda express orange chicken.
