I have always passed by Panda Chef and never thought to give them a try until recently. And I am really happy I finally did! This Chinese food spot is a mom & pop, hole in the wall type of place but usually that's where all the good family style food usually is. Service was very quick and nice, no complaints. I ordered a small $1.00 fried rice enough to feed one person and an entree of salt & pepper chicken wings for $16.99 and honestly that is a really great price for 12 big wings. Considering how a lot of Chinese restaurants are now charging $20 dollars and up for the same dish. Flavor was everything I was craving for. Salt & chili flakes were well balanced, wings were coated extra crunchy topped with the green onions. I also appreciated that the wings were not just salt flavor! This place has been there since they built the neighborhood, which is a great reflection of their food! This place is an Eastlake Greens staple. A fee friends told me about this place, and since I was craving Chinese food I had to try it! The lady was really nice and answered questions that I had. I got the combo sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice. The combo included an egg roll and wonton. It was definitely a good price for the food! I hate to leave bad reviews, but even with their lunch specials appearing to be reasonably priced it's just not worth it. The chicken was supposed to be spicy and had zero flavor. Plus it was at least two days old and dried out. Salt and pepper, chicken and shrimp do not taste like any other Chinese restaurants... Hardly any salt and pepper! Again, the chicken on this dish was very dried out. Finally, the shrimp and scallop sauce was probably the best but it only had six tiny shrimp and was just OK. This little mom and pop spot is legit. Simple decor with pictures of the dishes posted up everywhere. You know it's gonna be good. The Salt and pepper wings are on par with some of the other restaurants. The Mongolian Beef was also very tasty. They have a good balance of beef to veggie ratio. With a price point of $7.99 for the lunch special ($10 and some change with chow mein and rice) this place moves up in my rankings of Chinese food spots. With most restaurants raising prices due to inflation or what not. It's nice to have a meal with prices from 2001. I was craving some pan-fried noodles and so I came in to try their version. As I entered, there was no one in the restaurant, customers or employees. I saw and heard one man in the kitchen cooking and waited patiently at the front to order my food. I waited for several minutes without even a single greeting. The cook glanced at me and I thought he was going to call someone to help me but uh nope. I started to get uncomfortable but then some lady came to help me. She was an older woman with no communication skills. She took my order, I paid and then found a table. The food did come fast as I was the only customer in the restaurant. Food quality was acceptable. The noodles were mid and nothing to write home about. The service and environment was also mid, nothing spectacular. I noticed that the yelp menus were not updated online and so did not reflect current pricing (inflation prices) so I took a pic of their current menu and prices to help everyone out. read more

We had called in the order and the lady with the heavy accent on the phone was pleasant and sweet. Pick up was quick and easy. The food was delicious, especially the honey walnut shrimp, which was big, crispy, and perfectly glazed. The salt and pepper squid was just okay and could have been crunchier. I came here on November 20, 2023. I ordered shrimp fried rice. The food was fresh. I must say that it was not seasoned but I like that I was able to add soy sauce to my own liking. I will definitely return here. The pricing was great! The lady who took my order was very nice. I was told that my order would be ready in 10 minutes but it seemed like it was done within 5 minutes. Never had Chinese food from here before so we decided to check it out to end our nightly "what do you want to eat" ritual. We ordered the staples : orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, salt and pepper chicken wings, general tsao's chicken, beef soft noodles, shrimp fried rice, shrimp mushu, and wonton soup (this is what we consider 'light') At dinner prices, this ran us about $94 and we still have leftovers. Overall - pretty good. Nothing stand out or really memorable, but some times simple is all you need on a Monday night. Hubby really liked the noodles and rice and the kids enjoyed the noodles and chicken wings. I was looking forward to the wonton soup until I opened the container and there floating in the soup was a fly (poor thing, though if it was my time I'd hope my final moments would be in a soup too.) I don't think this makes a restaurant bad or is unforgivable but definitely a bummer. Also one of my daughter's chicken wing was still pretty pink on the inside. Definitely some room for improvement, but maybe we'll give them another chance in the future . read more

This is going to sound bad, but originally we decided to eat out at a different restaurant and after being told the wait list was closed, over an hour before the actual store closing, we stumbled on this place. Thankfully so because this was such a surprising treat. Clearly a mom-and-pop joint (my favorites!), you're greeted immediately upon walking into the store by one of the owners. This night they weren't busy, so we were the only ones there. They have plenty of tables, but reading the reviews, seems like take out is the preferred means in the neighborhood. Plenty of parking as this is inside a well-known plaza. We opted to order the house special fried rice, salt and pepper wings, and honey walnut shrimp. I was starving, and the hangry was setting in, so I really appreciated that they brought out the food as it was prepared making sure the food was as fresh as possible. The owner/server noted that it was good we came and ate there especially for the honey walnut - she noted that during delivery, it doesn't taste as fresh as when it's prepared and enjoyed right away and she was right. I absolutely loved the honey walnut shrimp - the batter was freshly cooked so it still had a crunch to it. The rice was a close second favorite because the flavors were so savory and yet clean tasting at the same time. I liked that the chicken wings' flavors weren't just all focused on the skin and the outside, the chicken itself tasted as if it was seasoned prior to coating so it brought a lot of umami to eat bite. And for the amazing service, this place truly deserves the full 5 stars. The food wasn't anything above and beyond, but the overall price, plus amazing and quick customer service, this place definitely deserves it. Ps.
