I visited this Panda Express recently for a fundraiser opportunity, as well as countless other times. I've really had no major issues here. The food at this location is usually well stocked and fairly fresh. I appreciate that they always seem to be cooking fresh food in the back. When there is a line, it moves pretty quick. I usually mobile order for pick up at this location. This is where I have had some issues. I've had missing items a few times when placing a pick up order, but it seems to have improved lately. The cool part about ordering on the app is that you can get loads of rewards points that add up quick. As for the ambiance, it's a Panda Express. Nothing special, but a good quantity of tables inside and usually pretty clean. Overall this is a pretty good Panda location. read more

Passing through and decided to have a late lunch here. Service here has always been better than my experiences in Reno. This location is nicer in terms of updates and the level of cleanliness. had the biggest craving for Chinese food and I couldn't fight it anymore. I went in to pick up a plate and their blazing bourbon chicken was advertised. I had a sample and decided to order that and my go-to orange chicken. Not sure why the stars are so low on this place. We were craving Chinese and still on the search for a good Chinese restaurant. It was lunch time and that were busy. Line going out the door. I ordered a 2 protein plate with fried rice. You can also do lo mein noodles or 1 /2 snd 1/2. I opted for the fire cracker shrimp and the mushroom chicken. Both were fresh and delicious tasting. The fried rice actually had stuff in it unlike most that give you some brown rice with no veggies in it. To our suprise, it was really good. The shrimp were a great size and the chicken with mushrooms also had zuchini in it. Loved that. We split this plate between 2 adults and it was perfect for a great lunch. Will NOT BE BACK. Have grown up with this location my whole life, moved to Reno for college, recently was back in town with my buddy having a craving for Panda Express. Portions have drastically reduced and apparently three coconut shrimp constitutes one full scoop. You don't even get your third scoop in a side package anymore, the food doesn't even touch the top of your container and I ALWAYS order a bigger plate, but now that seems pointless to order ANYTHING but the Family Meal at now $40.00, considering two "Bigger Plates" and two added sides in even tinier portion boxes came to $33.00. May I also add, not a single fortune cookie was given and the staff was completely distant. I have eaten at this Panda Express multiple times. The food is reliably good, better and less expensive than any Chinese food in Gardnerville/Minden where I live. The restaurant is clean, the staff helpful. I recently ordered a family meal via the internet. The food was ready on time, still hot. Two items were mislabeled, one was the wrong item, something I had not ordered or wanted. Of course, I did not know that until I got home. Go there, know the food will be delicious. I would love to be able to make Chinese as well at home. If you order in advance, check the items before you leave. read more

Well~I invited my ex-landlord and his family staying at David Walley's Hot Mineral Springs Resort with me as a token of my appreciation allowing me living with them at their Folsom CA house for almost a year while waiting for my new house being built: They just arrived into Carson City, we met at Costco Gas Station down the main drag as a meeting point, they were hungry from driving three hours so, I bought them lunch at Panda Express. According to my ex-landlord's two sons, they stated when they're in a town where they don't know what to eat and where to eat, Panda Express always will have consistency and reliability serving their food: No wild, crazy, insanely spicy, twenty-million Scoville scale, hot alarm food will be served without a warning label sign which is a preferential, beneficial bonus and also, avoiding the spicy hot pain searing their tongues! Pros: 》decent portion sizes 》potstickers availability Cons: 》very few fresh dishes ready to be served, most soggy and been sitting there awhile and/or are empty and unmade. 》not the most bubbly friendliest staff The facility is fairly clean and what I truly love at this location is that they still make potstickers. All the Reno/Sparks locations stopped and I missed them terribly - so the past two times I've been in Carson I plan to stop by here just for them. The somewhat downside is that the staff no matter how nice you are and try to thank and get them to smile, they just aren't the friendliest people. They do however serve descent portion sizes, which I greatly appreciate. The other downside is that at 11:30 - they only had half dishes made and the other half empty - of the ones that were out, there weren't really any "fresh" options to choose from. Most appeared soggy or stale. I even had to microwave my string bean chicken after a 2 min drive to my friend's house (which I usually don't get string bean chicken- but was the most appealing "fresh"-ish item of what was there). The temperature of all the items was lukewarm to room temperature. All needed a good nuke in the microwave to revive it. I enjoy going to Panda. I appreciate how the employees were being transparent about the time it will take to make the food that was not readily available. The food is always consistently good. The reason I took a star off was that there were two employees at the register that seemed to be arguing (not loud) and then the cashier that rang me up seems flustered. Not a big deal. Don't get me wrong the food is pretty good. It's cooked correctly, has nice flavor, etc. But the service?? It was horrible! Let me explain. I walk in and order my food, and she tells me it'll take around 15 to 20 minutes because of all the orders. I heard her say this to about 3 more people, which started to confuse me. I had about 10 people in front of me who were waiting for their orders, and I saw maybe an order coming out ever ten minutes. How is it that they can have 15 or 20 people in the restaurant at a time and serve them all in around 5 minutes but when nobody's in the restaurant they take forever. (????) May I also add that it was cold outside and I couldn't go and "Sit in the car" I saw 2 people go up and complain about there order or the fact that they'd been waiting for a long time. I finally got the food. I'll also add that the last time I had gone, I ordered a lemonade and an Arnold primer and I got water and tea. I understand that times are rough, but c'mon Panda?! read more

We really want to like Panda Express. The food is usually just what you would expect. HOWEVER, we still want to understand why we only have about a 30% success rate in getting what we order! Three of my top favorite stories from this location are: Ordering a large Rangoon... No sweet and sour sauce. I was placed in some book that they keep in the back so that I can get a free order one of these days. I imagine that book looks like an entire set of encyclopedias! Also, I know collecting on this will be impossible so I just don't bother. There was the time my husband ordered a combination plate which included chicken teriyaki. He got home and had a slab of sliced chicken... No teriyaki! Also, same night, no sweet and sour sauce for the rangoon AGAIN even after including as part of the special request section for extra sauce. On 12-7-21, we decided to stay home and enjoy our wedding anniversary on a rainy, dreary night. Again, my husband ordered a combo plate that was supposed to have teriyaki chicken... This time they gave us the sauce which is now prepackaged, btw/should be easier to grab, and no sliced chicken! So back out on the slick roads my poor husband went to get the other entree that was supposed to be included with his meal. I ate my food while it was hot, waiting to start the movie we were going to watch. Oh Panda Express, how you can ruin a simple evening... Consistently. I guess you do one thing really, really well!!! I'm not really sure why they can't get the orders right. I'm questioning the quality of employees. I'm questioning how bad the school system must be up here for the teens working behind the counter to not be able to read a receipt and include the basics. This isn't several incidents where we had numerous special requests. Actually, we are just trying to get the normal stuff on the menu. Typically, we order one combination plate, one large entree, and one order of rangoons. Where did we lose ya? Upon returning to the restaurant to get the chicken and not knowing the status of the sauce at home because he was trying to hurry and get dinner while it was all still hot, he talked to the very same girl who put our order together. She seemed to think she'd gotten it right (had a little bit of an attitude) even though there was an empty spot on the two combination plate that he had. He explained the situation and some young male came over and listened to what the story was. The male employee started "throwing" together a new plate after my husband explained that the one he brought back with him was now cold because it had been at least 30 minutes since placing the order, driving home, and driving back. So now, the young man seems upset as he puts together a new plate of food. My husband got home and guess what? There was no teriyaki sauce in the bag! So two little sauces apparently is all you ever get even if you ask for extra. I guess we were just lucky that the girl put those in the first time around. Also, the young man probably should learn how to deal with the "stress" of working at Panda Express because this seemed to be a little too much for him to correct a wrong order. Or, maybe he's just stressed because he has to do it so much? Fun little side note... No one ever apologized for screwing up the order. They actually acted like my husband was lying. Yes, we spent over $30 on food for two people. We lied about sliced chicken not being in the order. And we even went so far as to drive home, find the mistake, and go back to the restaurant to correct it. That seems reasonable, doesn't it? C'mon, look alive...pay attention... focus! I'd say "you can do it" but I have lost faith in y'all. An hour later, he's eating. I finally started the movie and moved on to dessert. Guess I should have started with dessert first. Came in to pick up a large take out order and the box they gave me broke causing the food to spill out into the parking lot. I went back in and there was this guy Chris who gave me the food and after I told him what happened he said no problem and remade my entire $75 order for me and put it in plastic bags instead of the paper boxes. He made what would have made a bad experience into a good one. People are quick to criticize but slow to praise. With the wide variety of available Chinese restaurants (and fast take out), why would anyone even set foot in a Panda Express? My one and only reason last Friday night was that my son was hungry and irritable and that's what he wanted. Shalom Bayit. I was hungry too, but nothing that Panda Express offered (even my usual favourite - Kung Pao Chicken) looked interesting enough to order. Plus, we were near closing time and everything looked overcooked and under loved. My son ordered orange chicken (that was more breading than anything) and chow mien that was light on the vegetables and heavy on the oil. The food is good, but the customer is absolutely horrible. They are rude and extremely impatient. I have been rushed through, I was told they were not allowed to take the broccoli out of the beef and broccoli, my order has been wrong, and I was told the cookies don't come with the meal unless you ask. I'm not sure what's going on at this location, but it's gone completely down hill. I had gotten my food before I was charged, so I stood there (for awhile) and waited for her to tell me how much I owed and she finally looks over at me, like I was a huge pain in the ass, and said, "uhhh.... is there something else I can do for you?", I said " I thought maybe you would like me to pay for all this food You just handed me". We've stopped ordering through the app because after 6 different days and times we ordered on the app every order either had something left out or they gave us items we did not order. As far as going in person it's unfortunately hit and miss. Sometimes the employees are actually polite & helpful and at other times they're just rude.
