This is the Panda Express in the Montgomery Mall's food court. While Panda Express is fairly consistent, this trip was notable due to a couple factors. This location was closing at 7. The kitchen closed 30 minutes earlier. We showed up around 6:45 and waited in line a bit but the selection of dishes to purchase was extremely sparse. The normal 15-20 options were cut down to just 4-5, and they were out of rice completely. On the other hand, because they were closing down, I feel like we were served heavier portions which I was all for. The dishes I specifically wanted were still available so I was pleased with my experience. Numerous others though were confused at what was happening, and there was a seriously lack of communication happening with the line and new guests. Many of which lined up only to realize after wasting 10-15 minutes that there was no more food coming. read more

A friend signed up for their rewards program, immediately got access to a 20% off discount, and bought the family meal deal for a get together. Not knowing I was about to eat Panda Express, I was surprised. It was a lot of food for ~$30 after discount and included 3 entrees and 2 sides. It could easily feed 5-6 people with some left overs. They got kung pao chicken, Beijing beef, beef broccoli, fried rice, and a veggie side of broccoli/cabbage. This is truly Chinese American as none of it had truly authentic Chinese flavors. The broccoli dish was pretty bland, no wok hei in the fried rice, kung pao not even close to spicy despite several red chili peppers, and the Beijing beef was cloyingly sweet. It all tasted OK, but let's not think this is actually real Chinese food. I guess most come here because its a good value, which is why I gave 3 stars. read more

While the food was great and had fresh flavor, I'm extremely dissatisfied with their service. In the beginning they were following the line in order catering to each guest. Completely skipped me and moved on to an acquaintance of theirs taking care of her 2 orders. Both crew member AND manager did not acknowledge me until about 5 minutes after their conversation was done and her order was taken care of. Once it was my turn to order, I had to repeat myself 3 times to get my order accurate. No apology for the extended wait or anything. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. The ice for drinks was not store in a proper dispenser, but in an open freezer, which means the employee grabbed a cup and shoved it in the open freezer with her bare hands to grab the ice. I liked them in the past, but things must have gone downhill. Their entrees are still delicious (I got the Kung Pao chicken and Orange Chicken), but the fried rice and noodles were bland, dry, and seemed overcooked. I also waited an eternity to get my order due to the massive flood of to-go orders that caused a log jam for those carrying out. Had to go shopping and decided on Panda. I always know what I'm getting when ordering from any panda. They all taste basically the same. What stands out with this one is the management. FINALLY, this place has a good one. Isabella was super friendly, keeps the place clean, the food is fresh and everyone is doing what they're supposed to do. Forgot this was Panda Express, more like Panda Leisurely. The slowest service ever if you wait in line. Order to go, it looks like you'll get ur food faster. It was my turn to order and a fresh batch of Beijing beef came up, only to be gobbled up by TO GO orders. The to go orders got the good stuff. I feel bad for the people working there, they are literally going non-stop and seemed out of it. People were also coming up asking for fortune cookies lol come people, the line was so long just let it go ha. I'm giving this a fairly high rating considering it's a food joint at the mall. I usually dont frequent places like these because the food is usually old from sitting under the lamps or in a steam tray but in this case I'm pleasantly suprised. I ordered the Shanghai Beef with Lo Mein. It was fresh, hot and very tasty, the steak was good, no fat and was tender and was served in a really nice sauce The vegetables in it were cooked perfectly with crunch and the mushrooms and green beans were fresh no canned. In the odd chance you are craving "Chinese" food from Panda Express, then this location is a decent option to grab your food! This is the go to place for Orange Chicken for my kids and spouse! We always stop by this location to pickup Orange Chicken and generally get white rice or lo-mein noodles to go with it. The other dishes that we like here are Kung Pao Chicken and Spring Roll. DON'T EVER USE DOORDASH AT PANDA EXPRESS. The app doesn't work properly. And the Panda Express staff & manager have zero knowledge on how the DoorDash app works, even though Panda Express has a partnership with DoorDash. In trying to use the "pickup" option on DoorDash for Panda Express... The DoorDash only shows a very limited selection of the actual offerings on the Panda Express menu; below, you'll see only 5 items (even though they have about 10 items there fully stocked). The DoorDash app never let me proceed after I chose the chow mein or later the fried rice with two entrees...no matter how many times I hit "Add to Order". I had wanted to use a gift credit, but was never able to order anything on DoorDash. I tried to discuss this with the Panda Express staff, and then the manager, but they are totally ignorant of how DoorDash even works.  How is it that one of your partner firms knows nothing on how to use it!?!? After 20 minutes with the unhelpful manager figuring nothing out, I left any food that I could purchase on DoorDash.  I intend to post on Yelp never to use DoorDash if you want Panda Express, and will post this story and photos. read more

Unlike other Panda Express franchises, the staff at this outlet is not that friendly. I went there yesterday, a Sunday. The staff's behavior was akin to a slaughterhouse, where they were barely listening to the customers and explaining what the choices are. All they cared for is to speed up the service at all costs. On June 25, 2022, at 6:00 pm, we ordered almost $60 in food. One item, Kung Pow Chicken was missing. We tried to complain, with very unsatisfactory results. Uber Eats did offer us $5 in Uber Cash, whatever that is. I don't know. Is it like Bitcoins? However, a medium Kung Pow Chicken costs $10.65, plus taxes, fees and tip. I expected a refund of what the item cost me, not a token. I'm not an idiot. We called the restaurant, in Montgomery Mall, only to be treated very discourteously by the person on the phone. He neither offered us a refund, nor did he agree to send us our dinner. He said that Uber Eats should take care of it. His goal was to get us off the phone, as quickly as possible. I can recognize a "bum's rush" when I encounter it. It's not the first time we've been stiffed by this restaurant. One time can be an anomaly. Another time, and it's indicative a severe lapse in businesslike behavior. This is not acceptable. In addition, all of the food was stone cold, and was also too spicy. I arrived at the designated arrival time and was told it would be 5 minutes more. 25 minutes later I was still waiting and was told it was because my order was "large". It was a single family meal. Meanwhile, the staff continued to fill orders of persons in line, which in hindsight, I should have just gotten in line. When I was finally given my order - it was someone else's order. It's Panda Express- the food is about the same as all the other locations. My problem with this location is that they are often out of many of the dishes. When they seem to be running low they compensate by giving you almost half of what you would normally get in what seems to be an attempt to avoid making more. During lunch. Wayyyy before they close. The temperature of the food is also a problem here. I've had entrees that were just plain cold. The staff can be either dismissive and inattentive or friendly and helpful, depending on the day. Which is basically all you can expect in a mall food court. I like that they allow vegetables as a side instead of fried rice or lo mein, and that they have several lower-cal (and actually very good!) entrees. I've never had panda but I hear they're delicious. I'll have the panda and broccoli please!! Panda Express is half accurate to its name. It's fast but they don't serve panda :( The food is the same generic Chinese food they serve at cheap carry out places you find all over the country. Panda Express just franchised it. Not to say the food taste bad, but no matter what you get you can taste the MSG. Chicken broccoli, General Tso, Kung Pao...all decent but you get that "damn, I probably shouldn't have eaten that" when you're done. Panda Express is the Asian version of McDonald's. Quick and convenient, Taste okay, but it'll fatten you up quick. It's a pass for me unless you're stuck at the mall and Subway is closed. Come on folks - you are eating fast food at a shopping mall. Who expects authentic? You've been shopping. You're famished. You have no will power left to say no to the fried food and get a salad. Enter Panda Express. For $7.50 or so - choose rice or lomein, and two meat sides. The crispy beef was too over-fried this time and the lomein wasn't great but the Orange Chicken is ALWAYS solid. And the beef with broccoli provides some green so you don't feel too guilty. read more

Ordered the biggest plate, 3 entrees and a side. Got half lo mein, half fried rice, orange chicken, and spicy grilled chicken with a side of chicken egg role. Chicken egg roll was hot steaming and wonderful. Lo mein just tasted like something that was tasteless and squishy, like typical iron noodles. Orange chicken very syrupy. Spicy grilled chicken had pieces of pineapple which was a nice touch (not as good as orange chicken). Fried rice was fresh and much better than lo mein. Chinese fast food place in a mega food court - so not expecting anything fancy, but received food that was tasty, well cooked, hot, not greasy, and an okay amount for the price - considering the location. The food and the service was good. The price is about under $13 so its not bad at all. Everything was good EXCEPT the FRIED RICE. I do not recommend eating fried rice here because I know once I taste it, it was crunchy which is the rice stayed for long time. She very sarcastically laughed at me, before doing it with attitude. What? Then right behind me, a guy asked her if a certain item was spicy. Again, answer had attitude.
