It's nice to have a fast food Chinese restaurant in town but I can't give it any better than two stars because it's always so difficult to find a clean table to eat at in this restaurant. Last night the manager was standing around... literally, so as we left I told him there were four dirty tables near where we had eaten that needed attention. He actually laughed. Hmmm.... Serious time management issues. I boycotted this place a couple of years back because I got stuck in the drive through for about 40 minutes and swore I'd never return. My wife was crying because after waiting the 40 minutes I just pulled through without picking up the food or paying. My thought was that they don't deserve my money, time, or respect. She felt like we just wasted all that time for nothing. Either way it sucks. Also, there is no way to escape the drive through once you're in, which has to be some sort of safety violation. I spoke with a work friend about the experience and he said he always goes inside to order and gets better service. So a few months ago I thought I'd give it a shot. The most frustrating thing about ordering inside is that there are 4 or more people all filling orders for the inside line and the drive through, and they're all different. My blood pressure sky-rockets as I see each employee serve a completely different amount of food. I find myself falling back in line to avoid certain people who look like their portions are about 30% less than another person. You see the dish you want getting lower... and lower.... and lower... and the servings get smaller until you're up. Even when you get the worker who serves the most, it seems like a meager portion. It is obvious that there is no system in place for managing portion size. The thing I dislike the most about this place though is that the orders are taken one at a time, and the food runs out by the time it's your turn to order. There seems to be no sense of urgency when a dish is reaching the bottom. They just let it run out, and then wait for somebody to inquire. You ask "how long until dish 'XYZ' is ready?" and they say 5 minutes; but you've already been in line for 10 minutes and there is an angry mob behind you. You feel pressured to order, so you order stuff that you don't really want. How difficult would it be to ask 3 or 4 customers what they want in order to ensure there is enough of that dish by the time it's their turn? Seems like a no brainer. Lastly, there are regular dishes, and there are dishes that cost extra ($1.50 I think) like the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which is great... I always order it. The premium dishes seem to disappear faster than the regular ones, so your chances of having to wait even longer increase with these. If I feel like there isn't enough food in my box because I got a stingy server, I order an egg roll. Well last time I was there they didn't have any eggrolls... and they didn't have 2 of the premium dishes I wanted. I was prepared to get ripped off by them, and they couldn't even do it. The food tastes pretty decent though. It reminds me of the frozen Trader Joe's asian food that comes with a sauce. The huge variety of portion sizes, and the painful lack of organization and process control make this place a total disaster. read more

I went in to the restaurant to get a to go order--2 Panda Feasts. There was no one in line ahead of me when I entered the store. It took 35 minutes to actually get my food. When I got home, I realized they had shorted me 1 entree. I will NOT be going back, they are ALWAYS slow. read more

I've been in the drive thru for 30 minutes so far and I am still waiting to place the rest of my order because the woman taking my order asked me if she could be with me in just one moment to finish my order. It's been 7 minutest. I've tried to get her attention through the speaker and she still hasn't gotten back to me. This is the worse service I've ever hadin a drive-thru. After seeing all of the terrible reviews about this location(from a month or more ago) I'm surprised that nobody has stepped up to try and create a more efficient and professional working crew and environment. Wow, and not in a good way. Awful lack of service from a surly staff that seems to have been hired from the jail. The food is okay if you can get some, but 30 minute waits in the drive through and hostility from the counter make this nearly impossible. Management should observe the evening crew and make changes. read more

Kayla as a so called (supervisor) as she says she is, should have more experience in customer service. She was unprofessional and didn't know how to handle a complaint well. Based off of all the reviews here, the General Manager Justin should really train his employees in customer service being a priority. That's if he even cares to. read more

shame on me. i didn't listen to my fellow "yelpers". the bellingham WA panda express is terrible just like its yelp rating says. rude girl took my order in the drive-thru, chinese spareribs tasted burned, and lucky me they screwed up and gave me 2 portions of the "chinese briquette ribs" instead of the shanghai steak i ordered. even the side of chow mein tasted funny. YUK. it really sucks cuz the panda express in the walmart parking lot on evergreen way in everett WA is awesome. read more

The food is good, the employees are nice, but the service is absolutely terrible. On several occasions they have been out of something, again they were out yesterday and I was told to come back in 15-30min. I did as instructed and was informed they were STILL out of what I wanted. I ordered something else angry because I wasted 30 min of my time and they forgot the sauce, and the fortune cookies. I think they are short staffed. read more

I have always loved Panda Express but this last time I went I received food poisoning and spent the night and next day throwing up. I went back in to ask if I could receive a refund and the manager explained to me that they couldn't offer me a refund in store but I could call guest relations and he gave me a number to call, up until this point he was polite and understanding of my frustration. When I left and called the number the machine said I qualified for a 100 dollar Walmart card I pressed pound to move on from that and then it offered me free road side assistance and every time I pressed pound it gave me a new offer that sounded fraudulent and was obviously not Panda Express. I became more frustrated but kept my cool and went back in asking for the manager and explained what had happened, he laughed and knew what he did because the number was not on a card and instead on a sticky note. He saw that I was frustrated and tried to make light of the situation with a very condescending tone, and eventually gave me my cash. Not only did they give me food poisoning but they gave me a fake customer service number and did not take me seriously. I would rather lick my own butthole than go back there again read more

Slowest drive thru ever. I once waited for ten minutes just to get up to the order speaker... with only one car in front of me. Once I got up to the order speaker I realized why, I had to wait for another five minutes just to place my order. Then it was another five to get my food at the window. The employee did not apologize whatsoever for my wait and I didn't realize I should have mentioned it until later. The employee wasn't friendly anyways so it wouldn't have been worth the risk. I went into the restaurant today to get a to-go order because the drive thru line was out into the parking lot and I unfortunately know how that goes. Inside, there were a total of four employees working, and only one of them was handling inside order (everything from dishing up the food to running the cash register). Horribly understaffed, and once again, although the employee kept saying "I'll be with you in a minute", she sounded super rude and like she didn't want to deal with customers. my issue is not with the food but with the terribly long line of people with lack of staff to help the lone cashier. I went at 11:40 am and there was always 8-12 people waiting to order. They had a lone person doing the orders, sampling, plating, and cashiering. Not her fault but especially galling was another employee in uniform casually eating her lunch while the line grew. I decided to post this on Yelp after giving comments on the Panda website which is obviously contrived. The same few people posted review after review. After reading about the lady who's son is in swim club and its his 'go to' place 4 times. It was only topped by the 'Team Bellingham' who miracuously knew each employees name and who was recently hired? Really? your a off the street customer. I was happy with the food though it took a while. I'd think since these are corporate stores someone would pay attention to the lack of service and step in to address the issues?
