Not sure why on that day, I suddenly felt like having KFC. So, I saw a sign for $10 chicken to share. I came here to pick up chicken for $10. It came with 6 pieces: 2 drumsticks, 2 chicken thighs; 1 chicken wing and 1 chicken back. It was tasty but not wow. I did find the chicken not oily so that was good. Maybe its a hit and miss. This KFC is also connected to A&W. So if you like you can grab a root beer to go with your chicken. Plenty of parking outside. read more

I cannot believe for one second that the Health Department hasn't been to this particular KFC. Because if they had, this place would be shut down. It is filthy dirty, the floors and tables are sticky with old food and pop, and the tables have someone else's dirty dishes. And the bathrooms????? I can't go there. I wish I just turned around and went to McDonald's instead. I pulled up to the window and the employees weren't even wearing masks...When I pulled up they offered me a 10 piece for $10, and I thought hmm, it's good they are trying to prevent food waste but I hope the food tastes good still? I ordered the two piece combo and the breading was only partially intact when I got the chicken. Then when I bit in, the breading tasted like it had soaked up so much oil that when I bit into the chicken it bursted in my mouth with oil. The oil also tasted really old, it had the flavor of stale crackers. When I bit into the drum stick it had this awful aftertaste like the chicken was going bad...I couldn't eat it. The mashed potatoes tasted sour, which I feel like they don't have sour cream in them or anything that should give them that tangy flavor so I think those were going bad too. When I ordered the only responses I got were "ok" with an attitude. But that was whatever I just wanted my food. The KFC part of this location is fine. They were horrible for years then bounced back with new management that finally has them on track. The food is better in restaurant than from Drive Thru as they try and pawn off the lesser quality looking items on the DT. The A&W is a disgraceful embarrassment to the name. There was a time when A&W was the ONLY fast food we had here back in the 70s. But ever since merging with A&W, the preparation has gone down hill. The A&W food recipes and items would be fine if they were prepared correctly. Every burger is cold, stale buns, I can't even imagine how bad the hot dogs would be. I doubled up on Double Downs. So - this isn't really a review of KFC per se, so why did I drive all the way to Bellingham from Vancouver to eat not once, but *TWICE* at a KFC? The much anticipated Down Double 'sandwich' - which replaces buns with two chicken filets sandwiching two strips of bacon, Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and 'Colonel's Sauce'. When I heard about the Double Down a year ago being test-marketed in select areas - I nearly jizzed in my pants. The sheer audacity, brilliance and "Why-didn't-I-think-of-that" realization was tremendous. I like fried chicken. I like chicken sandwiches. I imagined I would like it even more without a bun. As soon as I heard that the Double Down was being released nationwide, I immediately started planning a trip south, mouth drooling. Finagled a couple of friends to come along and we were driving down the I-5 in search of Double Downs. Anticipation could not be higher. We get to the restaurant and noticed it's actually a KFC and A&W rolled into one (hence the A&W cups in my pictures). We all ordered Double Downs ($6.99 with combo, $4.99 without) and acted like crack fiends as we waited for our food - eyes darting around the room. After getting our food and some required picture-taking, I paused a moment and felt like I needed mentally prepare myself - I knew the rest of my days would either be grayer because of what I was about to put in my mouth or it would be an epic fail. I finally took a bite with the nervous energy of first kiss. The first bite was absolutely glorious - crunchy and spiced fried chicken filet and delicious bacon melding into your mouth with creamy sharp cheeses. If Colonel Sander were alive, I would have followed him into battle. But I should have stopped there... ... as it went downhill from there. With each bite and more processing - my mouth got saltier and saltier. Too salty even for a man that craves the occasional salty fast food. As I kept eating it, I became more and more sure that a tomato slice would have done wonders. Yet afterwards, despite the diminishing returns, I still felt like I wanted another one. Perhaps it was just the fact that I can't buy them north of the border. Or perhaps it was the fact that I was in denial that it wasn't everything I ever dreamed of delivered between two chicken filets. However, I just stared intently at the menu board -- too frozen by shame to order another one. After our lunch, we hit the outlets and agreed that we would go back there again for dinner to try the *Grilled* Double Down, which replaces the fried chicken patties with grilled ones (no extra charge). However, I think I got bad grilled patties that was sitting around too long. When I ordered it, I got it served to me immediately - whereas my friends were told they had to wait 10 minutes for fresh ones to be made. I should have refused to take mine. While my friends got piping-hot, fresh grilled chicken, my grilled patties were dry and unappealing. It was less salty, but I prefer the original Double Down over the dry grilled one I had . The softness of the grilled patty meant it lacked structural integrity. You know how when you eat a sloppy burger and it disintegrates at the end, dripping burger remains on your plate? Imagine the burger drippings as an entire 'sandwich' and you're about there. Pouring salt on the wound, I had to watch my buddy eat a freshly grilled Double Down too hot to hold (remember, no bun!) which he thoroughly enjoyed and picked over the original, fried version. Overall, the Double Down was a bit of disappointment. Then again, I think I had unrealistically high expectations out of a fast food 'burger' (I didn't see the unicorns and rainbows I was hoping for). As Bourdain says, the mark of a good meal is how much guilt and shame you feel afterwards. The Double Down delivers on this, but probably not for the right reasons. read more

This KFC location has bad pricing and bad management. Staff is pushing dirty water around the kitchen floor during hours of operation. Staff is loitering around the back service entrance. Supervisors are unfriendly to customers. Solution? At nearby Safeway Sunset Square or Haggen's Barkley Village, get pieces of roasted or crispy fried chicken with all the side dishes with 8 pieces for $6-$8, instead of $16-$20 at the KFC. But get to those alternatives by 7PM, or else their deli may be sold out/ closed. read more

This is a KFC (aka Kentucky Fried Chicken, emphasis on CHICKEN!!). Two weeks ago I'm there at 9pm and order a $26 meal deal only to be told "we are out of chicken"...let me repeat: KFC WAS OUTBIF CHICKEN!! Not out of crispy or regular, out of ALL CHICKEN! Ouch this location can be a disaster at times. On my most recent visit there was no leadership, no organization and one staff member was clearly just not interested in working which brought down the entire team. My order was wrong (Was served a mashed potato bowl vs a rice bowl) and when the order was corrected the rice was not fully cooked. The location is mixed with an AW which could also create additional stress for the kitchen. A previous visit was decent which is why the star rating is not less and a cashier did provide great service and it was clear she was trying her best and acknowledged by her actions she knew how bad things were. All of the one star reviews here are quite correct. This is without a doubt the worst KFC restaurant in the country. It is certainly the worst restaurant in Bellingham. It is always dirty, the employees are rude, the food is fair sometimes and terrible others and many times they are out of what you want. Every six months to a year I think maybe the food has gotten better and go back and try again. It is almost always a disaster. I have reported it to corporate many times. They obviously do not care. My best advice would be don't ever ever ever go here. The definition of someone who is crazy is someone who goes back continually to the same place and expects a different outcome. pretty solid/average KFC. i came here for late dinner as i was road tripping with friends and this was literally one of the few fast food restaurants open late. i came in about 15 minutes before closing and they luckily served me! the server wasn't super excited or anything but was just average answering any questions i had. the only unfortunate thing was they had run out of most of their chicken and so when ordering the fill up box i just took whatever they had left, but hey it did the job. i ordered the fill up box for $5.99 and it came with: -original leg (what was left over) -extra crispy thigh (left over... coulda been more crispy but sure) -8 ox mashed potatoes with gravy -biscuit -medium drink - got root beer) -chocolate chip cookie WOW for 6 bucks thats a ton of food. made me full and happy. the only downfall was i had to eat in the care because it was closing but thats my fault. read more

my girlfriend and i ordered a MINI CORNDOG MEAL AND A TWO CHICKEN LITTLES MEAL and were given a CHICKEN BOWL AND A MAC AND CHEESE BOWL which means the drive through person gave us the wrong order. this is not the first time kfc has messed up. my girlfriend is lactose intolerant and got a FUCKING MAC AND CHEESE BOWL LOADED WITH FUCKING CHEESE. now she is going to be up all night with stomach cramps because of the drive through persons screw-up. hope your company is real proud of themselves for this crap. i will take MY MONEY AND MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
