Combo with 2 sides and egg rolls
    MyDami K.

I finally found a spot I can enjoy. They have great combos and their prices are reasonable. The star of my experience is their orange chicken and let me tell you, it's DELICIOUS!!! not too sweet, not soggy, it's tender with a crunch! The customer service was good. They are right there in the hood in the shopping Plaza with El Super

What's so funny about this visit is the photos of fellow yelpers is what attracted me. I can't say I ever noticed this business. I attempt to visit about 3 or 4 months ago but it was closed due to covid. I started that it was open just a couple of days back and decided to give it a visit. Ame (trying to spell the cashier's name) was very polite and friendly. My mom ordered some egg rolls and I told her I would return on another day to try their food. She knows how I feel about orange chicken and persuaded me to go in and look at it. When Ame seen me looking at it she asked me if I wanted to taste it. That orange chicken was perfect. It was crispy and cooked just right. It wasn't soggy but had that orange flavor to it. I ended up caving in and buying a small size. It was about $3.50 I think. It was very much worth it and I will be back.

Chow mein and shrimp with sauce typically served over Beijing beef
    Ericka B.

I love this place. Inexpensive, large meals, and customized orders. I'm pescatarian, and they are the only Chinese spot that will make you shrimp in any sauce that you please. I ordered their chow mein and shrimp in the sauce that typically is served over Beijing beef. I'm tired of walnut shrimp.. so they make it easy! All for under $10. Plus it's local...

We had two orders of slippery shrimp, kung pao chicken, eggplants with hot and spicy garlic sauce, juicy steamed dumplings, and pork fried rice. Overall, both restaurants in Chinatown and Pasadena provide great food quality. The ambience was cozy with dim lighting. Our round table had a wooden rotating tray. They have pictures of celebrities and politicians who've visited their restaurant. Service was relatively quick, but there was a 20-minute wait for the dumplings. Valet parking can get difficult when the lot gets full. A few cars entering the narrow driveway had to reverse out of the way to let others leave. The kung pao chicken was very tasty with a good amount of spice. I noticed that the slippery shrimp didn't taste as spicy as the portion from Pasadena. Reviews say that the spice is adjustable. Regardless. it tasted great as it came right off the pan. The pork fried rice was delicious with a savory flavor that didn't seem overpowering. I thought the juicy steamed dumplings were the weakest dish out of our whole order. There wasn't enough flavor and heat from the broth. I didn't try much of the eggplants, but they tasted adequate for me.

Anything you can eat you any night you don't have to cook is usually a great night out. This evening was no exception. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. Positive energy, drinks filled and smile that felt genuine. The ambiance of the restaurant was bar like, but with adequate seating for dining in. Everything was prepared wonderfully and had tremendous flavor. I recommend trying their Hui Tou, stuffed with pork or beef, pork and leek pancakes, they also have vegetarian options. Their pork shumai was delicious, xiao long bao's soup dumplings were flavorful. Delicious. I definitely need a second trip here to try their soups and more of their variety of dumplings.

Our go-to dishes are the cucumber salad (refreshing and perfectly crunchy), green scallion pancakes (especially good with the chili sauce), pork shumai (better than Din Tai Fung imo), and the spicy pork wontons. On our most recent visit, we tried the sesame noodles, and I've been daydreaming about them ever since. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the vibes inside are great, and there's a solid drink selection with cocktails, draft beer, and bottled options. And the price point? Outrageously reasonable, especially in this economy. Consistently delicious food, great service, and incredible value. Highly recommend!

It also appeared to me that the food tasted slightly better at the Alhambra location, but that may very well have been my bias. The restaurant workers looked more organized vs this location that has more of a traditional Chinese vibe, slightly tired building, not particularly clean, service feels a bit rushed and sloppy. We went there for Thanksgiving Dinner and it wasn't packed but we went at the opening time and the people kept coming. 90% looked Chinese which also speaks for the authenticity.

The highlights of the night were the celery root blini with crème fraîche and Ossetra caviar, the trout tartare, the duck sausage, and the grilled short ribs. And a special shoutout to the fried boneless chicken leg -- it was goddamn delicious! The wine list is exciting. It has some hard-to-find aged bottles. We scored a bottle of 2007 François Cotat Sancerre. Cotat is one of the most iconic Sancerre producers, and because his wines are built to age, finding a 2007 vintage on the menu here was a massive treat. While we didn't dive into the proper cocktail menu, my partner ordered the non-alcoholic Hojicha Orange Milk Punch, which was phenomenal, and judging by how beautiful the drinks at neighboring tables looked, I'd assume their cocktail program is strong. Service was stellar. Lisa, who helped us navigate the wine list, was lovely! She was incredibly generous, offering us a few complimentary pours of other wines to taste. Will definitely revisit to try other menu items and their cocktails!
