So it was my first time coming here, I'm not sure if I will be back. First, The honey walnut shrimp was so little compare to the sweet and sour pork lunch special. I never seen a Chinese fast food display their food with scatter and messy rice before even in San Bernardino display rice in a circle better than this. Secondly, the salt and pepper chicken wing was overcooked and way too crispy almost broke my teeth like wth. I couldn't even take a bite of it and if you look in the two photo, You can tell the one on the left was burnt. I wanted to give it back after spitting it out. Omg thank god I went to share tea afterwards and washed it away with honey milk tea. Lastly, the fountain cups look super filthy and dirty. I had to pick on don't look so dirty. Its the best authentic hole in the wall eatery. I absolutely LOVE their mongolian beef. It is done to perfection. The noodles are just as delicious but the best must have is the crab ragoons. Oh my goodness, I can taste them in my mouth just by mentioning it. It is seriously that good. The place itself isn't fancy shmancy but it is kept clean. Its good for take out or delivery. We found this place a several of months ago when we moved to the east side of Chula Vista. Our first experience was take-out - it was pretty good, we made a note of it. Next time we went got into the restaurant. Not necessarily what one would expect, but good experience. Service was prompt and pleasant. Food fresh, made to order and good portions. Pleasantly surprised. Tried this place because it was one of a few open on New Year's Day. I like this spot better than Panda Express. Food is more authentic and it's cooked fresh and made to order. Only gripes would be that they put peas in the egg drop soup and lumpia was bland and too thin; it needs more meat. My favorite dish is the honey walnut shrimp. It has been exactly 5 years since I left my last review for Panda Chef so to celebrate, today I went and got some Salt + Pepper Wings, with fried rice, an eggroll, and a cream cheese rangoon. Came to 8 dollars. Delicious. This place makes the only eggroll I have ever been able to eat without spitting out. Additionally, although not the absolute best Salt + Pepper wings I have ever had, they are still pretty good. I get why someone would not want to give this place 5 stars if they were comparing it to say, P.F. Changs or something. But when compared to Panda Express, I think Panda Chef is routinely better since, I have never had any chicken here that tasted like it was reheated and stale like I have at Panda Express. So for me, when compared to Panda Express, yeah Panda Express has better orange chicken. That is their specialty, it is what their entire business is based on. But eggrolls, cream cheese wontons, Salt + Pepper Wings which Panda Express doesn't have... that all goes to Panda Chef. Plus, the people at Panda Chef have always been super friendly to me every time I have gone there, my order is always ready in less than five minutes, and I like supporting a local business over a mega chain corporate conglomerate. After 5 years I am happy to say I still love this place and once again give it 5 stars based on the price point, speed of service, friendliness, taste, and serving size. I have been going to Panda Chef since I was a freshman in High School (I am 28 now). Since the first day I tried it, I absolutely loved it! The food is great, the prices are excellent (the lunch special has only gone up 30 cents in the 14 years I have been going - WOW!), and service has always been awesome. To this day, every time I go in there, the waitresses still remember me, ask me how I am doing, how are my friends (who would always go with me to Panda Chef after school). It's nice to have a local Chinese restaurant from your younger years, and for it to still be there (even though there are chain-restaurants across the street.) For people who have been in the area for a while, or people new to the area, you can never go wrong (especially at lunch!) with Panda Chef. I will be going there as long as they are still in existence! read more

Pros: 1. Only Chinese place that delivers to my area (91915 zip) which is awesome because.... 2. They have really good food! I love their house chow mien personally, my girls love the sweet and sour chicken, and my mom loves broccoli beef. All plates tastes amazing every time, unlike some places where the rice or the chow mien can get dry, here it's always flavorful! 3. I order so often that as soon as they hear my address they remember me and start being very friendly over the phone, as well as when they drop off the food! Cons: 1. Until they recognize you they can be a bit short, which is understandable since they're super busy, but that tends to put a lot of people off. 2. Prices are a bit higher than what I would like to pay for the amount of food. Like I said though, I order A LOT, so I guess it isn't a deal breaker, at least for me. I used to frequent this eatery when I used to get manis/pedis (back when Hair Pro Nail Pro Salon was here) with my mom on the weekends. I love that it's never too busy for dining in. They have a steady stream of customers who order for take out and there are one of the rare Chinese food eateries that offers delivery! I've always been a fan of their Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and House Special Noodles. The Kung Pao Chicken isn't something I've ordered more than 2x. Like someone had mentioned previously that it's not much to look at on the inside (like Royal Mandarin but much more brighter and cleaner in my opinion), it is a decent place to come to.
