Amazing food. Unlike a lot of standard Chinese restaurants, the food here isn't overly greasy. I've eaten here more than 50 times and have consistently enjoyed the quality and flavor. My only complaint is their takeout and delivery timing. They seem to automatically quote a 45+ minute wait time for every order, even during non-peak hours on weekdays. I've actually tested this myself: I placed a takeout order and drove to the restaurant immediately, arriving within about five minutes. My food was ready roughly 15 minutes after ordering. If I had chosen delivery instead, the food likely would have sat there for around 30 minutes before being picked up and delivered. With today's technology and the ability to provide more accurate wait-time estimates based on current demand, there's no reason every order should default to a 45+ minute estimate. It's frustrating and feels unnecessary. This is the sole reason I don't order their sushi to-go. I eat sushi alot, and they lose alot of business due to this easily correctable mistake. Can only speak on a recent sushi order. Sadly disappointed. Ordered four sushi rolls (crunchy shrimp roll, lemon cilantro roll, hiramasa, and a tiger roll) and all missed the mark. Flavors just weren't there--bland and uninspiring combinations. I've had similar rolls at other establishments and they have been delicious--not sure what happened here. Would not recommend ordering sushi from here. I'm giving this place two stars--one for ease of placing a phone order and it being ready on time, and one star for ample parking. We decided to give this place a try despite the poor reviews. Ordered the seared salmon roll, salt and pepper wings, teriyaki chicken bento, and chicken katsu bento. The salt and pepper wings were disappointing and tasted like poor quality meat. The salmon roll started out fine, but on the third piece my wife noticed something shiny before taking a bite -- it turned out to be a piece of broken glass inside the rice. At that point, we immediately stopped eating out of fear there might be more glass in the food. We called the restaurant right away, but the manager was never available and we were told to "call back in 30 minutes." This happened multiple times. When the manager finally called us back the next day, he offered to remake the entire order but refused a refund. We declined because after finding glass in our food, we no longer trusted eating there. He stated he "doesn't do business like that" and didn't seem concerned about the seriousness of the situation. Glass in food is a huge safety issue that could cause real harm, and the lack of accountability made it even worse. Sadly, we won't be returning and cannot recommend this place. read more

The staff is always friendly; I've never had to wait long to get seated or for our meal to be served. The Chinese dishes are great without being too salty and not greasy at all. The Japanese dishes are also very good! Don't know about other people, but I love this place! This is where I take my mom for lunch sometimes, because it's close to home, there is a lot to choose from the menu and food is tasty. The weekday lunch menu used to be such a great deal, and so many combinations to choose from Sometimes you feel like Chinese food, sometimes Japanese, sometimes both! Unfortunately, the prices have gone up, as with all costs lately. But the food always comes out super hot and tasty. Fortunately, we have never had a problem with our food being cold or stale. Also, the portion sizes are pretty big that we always have food left over to take home. I love their Kung pao chicken and egg drop soup with crispy wontons and sweet and sour sauce. It is my go-to! I used to come here over 10+ years ago with my family. There was this salt n pepper chicken that I used to get that they no longer do which makes me sad, however their new menu is still very good. I love the build-your-own lunch special. Their portions are HUGE. The lunch special used to come with an egg roll, soup, and salad. Not it's soup OR salad. My boyf got soup and I got the salad so we could try both and they are both 10/10. The best egg drop soup I've had in a while. The salad dressing is the same as it was years ago -- just as amazing. This is always a go to spot for me. I come here at least twice a month. The egg fried rice is only 8 dollars AND THE PORTION IS HUGE. It will for sure feed at least 4 people. It's also super good and well made! The Las Vegas roll is a fried roll and i personally like it, it just has salmon so if you don't like fish don't get that. If you like spicy sushi, I like the jalapeño roll, it's also a fried roll. The salt and pepper chicken wings are TO DIE FOR! The service is always super friendly and is quick with everything they do! The ambience is also great. Good vibes! The tables are a bit close so sometimes you'll over hear other people's conversations. But it's the best spot in Chula Vista. I've been to a few other spots... My family and I waited one hour for an unsatisfying meal. The house fried rice was bland, it tasted like plain steamed rice with peas. Everything we ordered had the quality of fast food that's been served as dine-in. The Mongolian beef was only about a quarter meat, the rest being onion, stir fried in copious amounts of oil. The chicken wings were tolerable, but super dry and over all nothing special. The orange chicken on the other hand was pretty much just breading. I've been to many Chinese restaurants and by far, this place was one of the worst. It's frustrating that I paid nearly $100 for a meal that was this bad. This once-lovely spot has taken a steep dive in recent years. After a moderately disappointing experience several months ago, we were in the neighborhood and decided to give it another go. It was awful. Our hot & sour soup had the texture of jello. Like ACTUAL jello, but hot! I kid you not. Our stir fry dish was absolutely loaded with oil and yet strangely flavorless. The fried rice suffered from similar issues. When we went to the register to pay after our meal, the hostess couldn't help us until she finished a gossipy conversation with her coworker about their mutual friend. Came here on a Sunday evening with some family for some good Chinese food. We ordered 3 entrees and one side dish and definitely ended up with leftovers for our party of three. The Mongolian Beef, Salt and Pepper Wings, Honey Walnut Shrimp were super yummy!! The portions are pretty big so I would recommend sharing vs ordering 1 entree per each person. I wouldn't order the Chicken with Vegetables again though, the vegetable to chicken ratio was very off with it having too many vegetables. We arrived at around 5pm and only waited less than 10 mins to be seated. We got our food pretty quickly after ordering as well. The restaurant does get pretty loud since it's one whole big room vs having walls/dividers. Parking is super easy since it's located with other stores surrounding a huge parking lot, and right off the freeway too! It's a combined Chinese + Japanese restaurant, so I could see this place being the perfect answer for indecisive eaters! Makes it unique and would be a reason why I come back! read more

The Bento box lunch special is a DEAL!!! The platter actually gives enough to fulfill your stomach, so don't let your eyes fool you! The service was very welcoming and friendly and the environment of the place was a bit busy, but overall really clean! The food came out faster than I expected and it was FRESH!!! I recommend asking for the bento rice (from the Japanese side of the restaurant) because the standard rice served with the Chinese entrees is dry and the fried rice is bland and at times, too greasy. Like how they evolve with the times--started out as a traditional sit-down Chinese restaurant (China China), and in the last several years merged with the Japanese restaurant so there is a lot of delicious food choices to order from. I've only came here once before but somehow started craving their cheese wontons. They always served good portions for the price and the wontons is filled with the cheese instead of the fried part. We both tried it and omg the flavor is so good, we tasted a hint of sweet and sour but there's more into it! There's chili sauce maybe and a taste of pineapple somewhere! It was the best orange chicken I've ever had it was so flavorful (you could actually taste the orange) and cooked perfectly. They weren't skimpy either it was a full plate of food. My niece ordered a plate of chicken wings which I tasted and I will definitely go back for those because they were the most seasoned chicken wings I've ever had in my life. As far as the food goes this place is top-notch in my opinion. The service leaves something to be desired. So today wifey has been craving Chinese food it's my day and she has the cravings . We went to one on my spots in San Diego that has the best chicken wings I believe in San Diego. But they were not open to dining just pickup. That was disappointing. Then I thought I'd my sound spot. China China, to see if they were open for indoor dining so I drove by and sure enough they were open for indoor dining! Winner winner chicken dinner! Wifey ordered the family special which came with house fried rice, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and yes you guessed it, salt n pepper wings. Wifey's mom wanted to go with us to church so it was a great day all around. Got to see my parents at church and then went to enjoy a meal with my mom-in-love and wifey. Everything was superb. The Mongolian beef was extremely tender, the fried rice was delicious, just the way wifey likes it, hot and fresh. The wings were hot and crispy. The only item that didn't a home run for any of was the orange chicken. There was just too much orange flavoring which was a bit over barring. You really couldn't enjoy the taste of the chicken because of all the orange flavoring. It was enough food to feed a family four and being there was only three of us we had food to take back home for an always hungry daughter. I used to go here a lot for Wonton Soup. "Small" would be a very large container and "Large" would be two of the large containers. Then you get a bag of crispy wontons for topping. The shashimis are fresh and delicious. Their special offers are very tempting too. We plan to order their family special that gives you three $20 coupons for subsequent purchases. We treat it like our lunch room. Just one regret. Someone at the front desk had been using my credit card without my permission for a small amount that looked like a tip. I tipped them generously anyway. This was enough to get my bank notifying me right away. The charge never got through but it was a bother. After my speaking to the possible offender about this without incriminating anyone, the practice had stopped. However, the takeout prices have gotten so ridiculous. $20 for chicken chow mein with barely any chicken in it? $12 for a small wonton soup with a few wontons?? i know prices have gone up but at the end of the day i'm still paying $20 for takeout noodles?! This restaurant offers sushi, soup, bento boxes and Chinese food. I would recommend coming in with a group or a full family because the portions are quite large. THE MORE THE MERRIER I would say though because the food was BOMB!! My favorite would have to be the honey walnut shrimp, I was actually told by another party next to us that they are known for their that dish and BOY!!! It was amazing!!!
