I appreciate that they are always made fresh to order and are warm when served. They have a variety of sauces you can fill the churro with, though I prefer them with the chocolate sauce. Yum yum yummmmmm! We were walking around Kensington market and there wasn't too much open other than a few places. We decided to get churros and we were pleasantly surprised! We got three churros, made fresh to order and got to choose our fillings- they had strawberry, condensed milk, chocolate, and caramel. The strawberry was delicious, didn't taste artificial! And we got a hot chocolate and hot horchata. The hot chocolate was delicious! No powder, it was made from chocolate flakes over a stove which kept the heat in. Amazing flavor! Super rich! This little spot caught my eye as I drove past it several times during my trip. Good churros are hard to find these days, so I decided to give it a go. Upon entering the bakery, it was clear that it could not accommodate more than four people. But that wasn't a problem because it was a grab and go type of place. Per the menu, these are the flavors available: Original Chocolate Condensed milk Strawberry Caramel I decided on getting four original and two condensed milk. I was eager to sample my new found sweets. These churros had a good ratio of cinnamon to brown sugar. They were also hot off the press, which made them taste even better. I have a bit of an obsession with mascots, so when we spotted a guy dressed up as a bun or something, I promptly freaked the hell out and RAN over. Let this be a lesson to you business owners: if you have a big, smiley mascot in front of your business, you have my interest. After taking some photos with the giant bun, the Hubster and I went in to get a coffee for him and a churro for me. The coffee was apparently quite fresh and delicious and the churro was hot, crispy and just right. I didn't opt for any of the fillings and had some sugar and cinnamon instead. Service was super friendly. One churro and a coffee came to $2.50, taxes in. This location is right beside the subway station I take the northbound Dufferin bus quite often and I can definitely see myself getting a churro while waiting to alleviate some of the frustration that comes along with taking the TTC. read more

C'mon, their sign says "I love Churros...!". If you too love churros, come and try some. I've been here a couple times, and each time I wish I bought more churros. The churros are pretty fresh, there's a sheet of uncooked churros that will be fried on the spot if they don't have any pre-fried. One time I went, the guy was even pumping out the dough in order to fry. The churros are fried and rolled in sugar, as per regular churro standards. The best part are the fillings: strawberry, chocolate and caramel, which are squeezed into the churros (this may seem obvious, but I've been to places that drizzled the sauce onto churros and it just makes a big mess). Caramel is the best hands down, with chocolate and strawberry to follow. I haven't tried anything else they offer, and I probably won't because why would I not get churros? read more

Sitting a cozy distance away from Dufferin Station, Pancho's has made a colorful entrance to the neighborhood. They're located in an extremely small space and I would've easily passed them by had it not been for the large banners and the cheerful staff handing out samples outside the bakery. Located in a space previously housed by a Chinese take out place, Pancho's manages to fit in a couple counters and deep fryers without seeming claustrophobic. They've got a smorgasboard of Mexican (and other) baked goodies on offer, with churros occupying pride of place. The churros are made on location and fried after you place the order. While my order was coming to life in the deep fryer, I had a chance to chat up the very friendly server: exceptionally cheerful for an early weekend morning! This location offers churros in caramel, chocolate or strawberry flavors, which are pumped into the bread after it's fried.I enjoyed the fact that the churros were fresh, very doughy but not very pleased with the lathering of sugar coating. The excess sugar walloped me over the head and preoccupied my taste buds for a while after. I hadn't ate the churros so this is the review of the "empanadas" that I decided to order. I ordered the ground beef empanada which unfortunately was microwaved and just felt bland at spots. It costs about $3 dollars (without tax) which is surprisingly cheap! The place is definitively tiny for a take-out bakery place with churros sitting out on a table waiting to be deep-fried and other delicacies although there isn't any labels. read more

Whenever there's a street market I always have churros. That's just part of the market charm. Today they didn't have any churros at the market itself but as soon as I reached Bloor and Dufferin I saw the big sign saying "I love Churros" and I had to go and have one. I always have it either plain or with caramel sauce and it is so delicious. Today there were so many customers that while I was waiting for my churros to fry the line outside just grew bigger and bigger. In fact the churros were running out so fast that the guy had to mix more churros dough and press them out, right in front of us, which was fun to watch. Every time I end up waiting for a bus here, I drop into Pancho's for some churros if it's open. Service is quick and the churro's arent too greasy which makes things fun. There is no real seating area and it's kind of a tiny workspace so get your stuff to go and you'll be right as rain. They have other stuff too but there's a much wider selection at their other locations. This place is pretty much good for just churros, empanadas and drinks. read more

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the churros because they were NEVER served. I placed a GROUP ORDER for an event a month ahead and it was confirmed over the phone. Seeing that I couldn't get a confirmation in writing or a answer to my emails to finalize payment, I called again and was told they were just at the CNE and things were busy (BOOHOO), but not to worry they would be there on the day of and we can pay then... Since it didn't reassure me much, I went ahead and secured an order with CHOCO CHURROS (http://www.chocochurros.ca/). Miguel was amazing, reliable and his churros were fresh and delicious. I live down the street and thought I would have an Americano coffee there because I had one a year ago that was amazing. This time I waited 5 minutes and had to call the place before someone came up from the basement. Once I ordered the coffee they didn't have any milk or cream! This place is an awesome cheap sugar fix. They fry them right there, and serve them up warm. The lady behind the counter recommended the caramel, so I grabbed two (for quality assurance I swear!). Only complaint is the coffee was gross, but I didn't have high expectations for it anyways. read more

Although I enjoy the churros, last night I experienced the nastiest greediness ever. I was at the CNE and wanted to get 1 churro since the people I was with weren't interested. I asked for 1 and the guy said 3 for $5, and I told him, I just wanted one. He said ok and went on to say $3 dlls... I mean... REALLY?!?! I told him that at the store is $1.50 and he replies with.. "AT THE STORE", then he backs up and says $2 dlls. I totally get it, they want to sell the 3 for $5, and they are so money hungry that he wants to push the $3, but I think $3 was a bit greedy from his part. I would've paid the $2 no problem, and considered getting the 3 for $5 and throw away whatever I didn't want, but since there's such a lack of customer service and a disgusting attitude, I decided to keep my money and go somewhere else. As a fellow Mexican wanting to support my people and their businesses, this one... can be scratched off my list. And you might not even care, but at least my word is out, and I'll stop pushing for people to get your products. read more
