The customer service is ok. The quality of work on the other hand.....i cannot believe these people are in business. I had a new clutch installed on my ranger and the housing inside the cab was not entirely put back together. There was screws missing. Also on the actual clutch itself there was also bolts missing. Went to Honda in the morning in San José and got oil change and tire rotation, and I think they forgot to screw back the bottom and it started scraping on the freeway and we found this place and with an hour to close they were so fast and helpful and got us through !! My son was driving through Gilroy,CA when a tire flew out into the road and when under his car. He wasn't sure the extent of the damage. He drove around looking for an auto repair for awhile but everyone was too busy and turned him away. I was 5.5 hrs away so I started calling around and found Pancho's. The person that answered was so kind and helpful and said to have him drive it over so they can help him out. They assessed the damage quickly and said it was Mostly cosmetic and removed all the loose plastic. They didn't overcharge, in fact, I think he got a great deal and they were so friendly and helpful. 10 outta 10 recommend!!!! So happy read more

Panchos Auto Repair did not meet its expectations!! I WAS CHARGED FOR SOMETHING THEY DIDNT EVEN FIX!! Came to this shop because my boyfriend called them and they said they worked on bmws. I brought my car in to get it checked for the brakes, and we were informed they can fix it. After 1 hour, they decided to charge me because "its finished, they are just test driving it". About 5-10 minutes later, the receptionist takes her daughter and leaves just me and my boyfriend in the office room by ourselves. About 30 minutes pass by, the receptionist just left, so my boyfriend goes out the back to check on the car. The owner says to come back another day because he couldnt fix it, and maybe it was just "the censor". Brought it back the next day and they told us they have other cars to work on, so to bring the car back in 1 week if the brake censor is still on. At this point it was sounding sketchy because they already charged me. I came back the next week because the censor was still on. They took a look at the censor again, for about maybe 30 minutes. Told us to give it a few days for the censor to go away again..... The next day my boyfriend took a look and fixed it HIMSELF. I was charged by a shop that advertised as a mechanic that can work any vehicle (says so on YELP) but didnt have any help with my vehicle. Just don't advertise what you dont do, and this problem would have never happened. read more

I was referred by my boyfriend to Pancho's Auto Repair as "they provide great service", but little did I know that was a mistake that was going to cost me. Upon arriving to drop off my car I mentioned to Pancho that my boyfriend let the receptionist know what needed to be done and if there were any issues to give me a call. A little after I left I called the receptionist as well to make sure to let Pancho know about the memo my boyfriend left with the receptionist but instead she had no idea what I was talking about. The older lady let my boyfriend know that she would let the other receptionist know as well but that didn't happen. Well turns out the receptionists lack common sense of relaying messages to each other. We went back and forth until she finally gave the phone to Pancho and he reassured me that he knew what was needed and would give me a call when it's ready. A couple hours go by and I did not receive any calls. I head to the shop as I came from San Jose and had other appointments. I arrived and my car was ready, per the mechanic he had just finished it. However, he was working on another car as I was pulling in. Immediately he says I need to return to get more work done ASAP. I am caught off guard and he keeps claiming it needs to be fixed right away. I tell him I'll return another day. I go inside and get ready to pay. The receptionist says I owe $405 for everything. I was shocked as to why it was so much when it was just minor things. I pay and go on my way. I don't return to the shop as I believe there is no way I'm going to put $1000 for more work to be done to my 2004 Honda Accord. It's been a couple months now and I was having issues with my car and just recently my boyfriend got stranded because it didn't start. Immediately he knew it had to be the starter. I knew I had to get that fixed so I was referred to another mechanic (Huy) and he got me in right away to replace the starter. He was by far more helpful and professional as he let me know what needed to be done and how much, so I gave him the ok. Once I went to pick it up the new mechanic (Huy) mentioned that he had to fix some things as it looked like some work was done poorly and incorrectly. Huy went out of his way and corrected it with no charge. Luckily I didn't take my car back to Pancho's because I am sure it would have been another waste of money. I am all for supporting businesses but not when they rip you off for poor work. I would not recommend Pancho's Auto Repair to anyone as there are far more honest, professional and friendly mechanics. read more

I brought in my bimmer to see if they could check out a light that i had trouble with . Did not payed for the "checking your car out" price . I payed 150$ just for them to fix my problem and they DID NOT. I FIXED THE PROBLEM ON MY OWN . This shop is a rip off . Most of the times . Their workers dont even know what they're doing . If I can give this shop 0 stars I would I have them info for the barring I had which has the magnet for the abs that has to be to the out side of the and they charged me as much as if I would've bought the tool but I don't have that much use for the tool either way I told Pancho (the boss) and the technician who did it that it has to be on the out side they proceed to press it on wrong now my car acts stupid because the computer trying to work with abs but since they messed it up the abs sensor is not giving feed back so it locks up not what an abs does i almost crashed my car bc of that and when I called they were super rude to me they even put me on hold with out even saying a thing they wouldn't even listen saying it my fault bc i brought the parts in does not make any sense they hire ppl who don't follow simple instructions even the boss doesn't so think twice before you take your car there they have horrible customer service and don't know how to work on cars read more

This place is a total scam!! Our car broke down and went here as they were open on a Saturday. They quoted us a price, was very nice and thought that they could fix our car. We received a call the next day that the problem was now completely different and they wanted to charge us more. We thought it to be very suspicious. My fiancé fortunately has a friend who is very knowledgeable about car mechanics who agreed after talking to the owner, the diagnostic was a complete and utter fraud. We immediately picked the car up but was met with a higher bill for items that were never quoted. (Despite having the pink slip quoting only the prices we discussed). When we challenged this, they basically would not release the car. ***THIS PLACE definitely has ulterior motives, never repaired our car and is most likely ripping off their customers. We will be filing a formal complaint. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences with Pancho. He is an honest mechanic, and if you have the patience to communicate with him he will tell you exactly what he thinks is wrong with your car, what could possibly be wrong, and how much it would cost. If you want a mechanic that just magically repairs your car and leaves no thinking left for you, go to a different place. Pancho charges honest prices, does honest work, and has been working on TONS of different cars for LONG LONG time. He's a great man as well. The only drawback is that this is a Spanish-speaking garage, and Pancho himself doesn't have the best English. But if that puts you off don't come here. Otherwise he's a great and honest mechanic. read more

Please review Lisa L's comments. This business is running a scam. I took my car here, which caused a series of jobs "gone wrong". Took it to another mechanic which revealed that Pancho's work caused more damage (either intended or not). After taking our car to another mechanic, Pancho charged us more than the original quote and put on more charges that were not known to us.
