Driving down the highway and unfortunately ran into loose items on the floor. It's a horrible feeling, but much worst when you noticed your tire pressure sensors are alarming you. I knew I had to go get it checked right away. First recommendation popped on my screen was this place and I drove here immediately before my tire flats out. Agustin was the one who approached me. He did the assessments and was able to help me quite quickly so I can be on the road again. Very very grateful of Agustin for his help. Not a pushy person. He was patient, understanding, and kind. I definitely would come back here and recommend talking to Agustin for car needs. Thank you Agustin!!! =] read more

This has been my trusted go-to shop for many years. Staff is attentive and courteous (I am typically greeted at my car when pulling in). They know what they are doing from the top down, from the Luis the owner to the mechanics. I always know my car is in good hands when I bring it here. read more

Crazy labor cost! $190 for 10 minutes! I stopped by for an oil change this morning and was told that the belt needed to be replaced soon. I asked about the price and may not have heard it correctly, but I thought the total cost for the material and labor was less than $100. I agreed to replace it, and they ordered the belt, which was delivered quickly. After they finished the work, I realized that the labor cost for the belt replacement was $190. It only took about 10 minutes! I have used this shop for oil changes regularly, but I will not be returning anymore. read more

If you're looking for trustworthy mechanics and great turn around times on jobs this is the place! I've been going to this shop for 3 years when I moved to the area. Alex is great, hes very knowledgeable and great at communicating what repairs are needed and why. Alex always provides a fair price and the shop preforms the jobs in a very timely manner. If Alex is not around Agustin is another great tech to reach out to. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop as my first choice. Keep up the great work, it is very appreciated read more

Great customer service! Walked in for an oil change and they were able service my vehicle rather quickly.

I usually do my own oil changes but when I have anyone else do it, these guys are awesome. Only team I trust. I've sent my wife and daughter over and the guys are always kind and respectful. AND, they're fast and efficient. read more

I had a sidewall tear while I was 50 miles from home. I pulled into the nearest wheel shop, and they told me it would cost $1,200 for a special set of tires that they would have to rush from another site. I literally called this place Gilroy Lube Auto Repair next door and spoke to a man called Felix who Not only was able to connect me with the right size tire but found me used ones with practically new tread for less than 1/4 the price of the first place I visited. Felix knew what he was talking about and the whole place was totally professional while we were there, waiting with a dog while stranded but with their help and good hospitality. Felix also warned me that my rear brakes were pretty low. But he was honest when I asked if he thought I could limp it home to deal with the repair myself. Take a look at their work and tell me whether you would rather have brand-new at $300 per corner or what I have to call brandused at only 75? On top of that, these guys managed to squeeze us in right after they finished their meal, understanding that we had children and a dog and were stuck. 10/10 if I lived in the area I would trust all my undercarriages to these guys. Yep, they would service my whole fleet, and they wouldn't rip me off. read more

I do not know whether I should give this mechanic shop even 1 star, I took my car today for the brake issue, they were terrible, first charging me $120 for just 5 minutes check, then they wanted to charge me $1200 for the brakes and disk, etc, I went to another mechanic, he charged me $50 for adjusting the brakes and the problem solved, Please do not go to this shop read more

I was told in person that i would pay x amount of money for a service. The next day i show up to get said work done for said amount of money, only to be told that its actually going to me more than 3 times the original quoted price. That is bad really bad business. I wasted my time, gas, and money to go to this location and had to turn away just based off principal and respect. I dont recommend the clowns. Un montón de malditos payasos poco profesionales. read more

I came here for an oil change a few months ago, the experience was pleasant. I was in and out within 45 mins. Thought I'd continue to give my business. However, today, i used my hour lunch and drove to Gilroy Lube at 1pm, walked into the main lobby with my keys rattling in my hands, greeted the guy at the register , he said hi back, but did not ask if I needed help or if i have been helped. I stood there for 10 minutes, while he rang someone up, I continued to stand there to make him Aware that I haven't been helped. Once he was done, we made eye contact, he answered a call and walked outside. I sat in the lobby for another 6 mins. At this point, I decided to leave. Very disappointing and underwhelming experience today... read more

Called all around Gilroy for estimates on an oil change and this was the only place that wasn't price gouging. Estimate on an oil change here was $120 for full synthetic up to 5 quarts. Final price was $114 and change (cheaper than the estimate!). When I called, Felix answered the phone and was very professional and quick to help me get the information I requested. Felix told me to bring the car in. I didn't have to make an appointment or wait for one. When I arrived, I parked around back and was greeted by Felix. He remembered our phone conversation. He told me it would take approximately 30 minutes to complete the oil change. I waited inside the air conditioned office. I walked by a bathroom that looked very clean. Less than 30 minutes later my vehicle was ready! They told be they topped off my fluids using BMW fluids which were designed for my BMW. This place is awesome! Thank you to Felix and the person who helped me at the counter (sorry I didn't get your name). Very professional and excellent customer service! I had a great overall experience! I will be taking my vehicles here from now on and I will be recommending all my family and friends to go here. read more

I searched oil change for my car. Their price seemed to be ok so i went there and later the man opened my hood and said my filter should be extra $20. Why they didn't tell me at the beginning? Because I don't have time so I let them do it. And when I go to home they charge me extra $12 addition to $20 saying they put extra oil which they never mentioned. So be careful this place this place they are adding up later. read more

I love this place... they are friendly and honest kids! I say kids bc the main guy who usually helps me looks so young, he is very professional and very informative. He knows what he is talking about. Fast service and great price. I usually come in for an oil change on my Honda CR-V. Check them out! read more

I was quoted $79.99 for a Full Synthetic oil change, which in itself is PRICEY, but when I returned to pick up my car, I was charged $105. I am then told that the quote was for a car that normally takes 5 quarts of oil and that mine required 7 quarts. Was mine the first Subaru that they ever worked on? Anyways, High Priced and Shady business practices. read more

This is one of those rare places that's not only reasonable, but honest. I've used Gilroy Lube & Auto Repair twice already, and they did a great job. Moreover, they know what they are doing unlike some of those other "oil change" places that hire kids. read more

Was looking for a local oil change place and came across Gilroy Lube, the service here was great and fast and for a reasonable price. Also they vacuumed the inside of the car which i was pleasantly surprised because the previous place i went to never did that for me. Only place I've been going to for 21 years.. then it was speedee oil change. Friendly and fast service!

Came during lunch on a Tuesday. Quick, professional and friendly. Had a nice office space to wait in. Affordable prices.

Fast oil change, smile, and good service. They told me I will need a car soon since it's burning a lot of oil and it probably will not pass smog when my renewal comes due next month. read more

Took my 2008 prius in for oil change. They were fast and the service was friendly. Recommended.

My new favorite oil change place. Very quick - I went mid-morning and these guys were very busy. 30 minutes (could even have been less, it was so fast), about $37 for five quarts plus vacuuming interior, tire pressure check, etc. read more

This place has done work on 3 of my vehicles and including my daughters Yukon. Felix has done an outstanding job on all of them. Keeps it honest and only charges me what's necessary. Went the extra mile on my latest truck I just bought when the engine light came on. Now it runs great and no engine light. Highly recommend them. Hard to find a good mechanic. read more

I've been traumatized by oil change places. Both Dodge dealerships I've been to (especially Salinas, horrific experiences there) have been terrible in customer service. I decided to step out of the dealership scope and try something different. I came here on a Saturday morning and they took my car immediately. It took roughly 20 mins. The customer service was great. I'm big on professionalism and this place met my expectations. I'm a very busy woman so the quality, speed, and overall experience means I'll be coming here now for my car needs because of how fast and hassle free it is. read more

Best place to get oil in Gilroy. Haven't tried any of their other services except for a coolant flush.

Always the best service when I need my car worked on. They are always friendly and honest. They always do great work and fast. I highly recommend Gilroy lube read more

Had previously had good experiences with this place, but it now seems to have the same problem as other places in town hiring young people. Supposed to open at 8. Arrived early to make sure to get out quick. Employee sitting in parking lot in vehicle until after 8. Then proceeded to slowly walk in the store and slowly start opening up. What ever happened to being ready for service when your shop opens? Filing this place with the other terrible oil change place (jiffy lube) in town. Guess have to stick with the dealer moving forward... read more

They charge too much for an oil change. They tell you your filters need to be changed even if they're a little dirty. And then they insist you need to get another change in only 2000 miles. They did a fine job but try to milk you too much. Don't fall for it! read more

Been a customer 7+ years now. I'm a commuter and get my oil changed like clockwork. Felix is the man! Driving from SF to San Luis Obispo, our trusty 1995 Toyota Camry broke down on 101 at the Gilroy exit. Got a tow to Gilroy Lube Auto Repair, which was one of the few auto repair shops open on a Saturday -- lucky break #1. Lucky break #2 -- Felix the manager came out to meet us at the tow truck, said he could take our car right away to identify the issue. Turned out to be a cracked radiator, which blew out all the coolant. Lucky break #3 -- Felix said that he could get a new radiator that day (Saturday), and would have us back on the road in a few hours. A setback to be sure, but we were happy to be able to get our car fixed in a reasonable amount of time, and not have to leave our car there and go rent a car for the rest of our trip. True to his word, 2-1/2 hours later, we were back on the road. Felix expertly explained other potential issues he saw with our aging car, the probable cause of our cracked radiator, and treated us like we were capable of understanding the mechanical issues (which I sincerely appreciated). I could see that Felix was not trying to sell us extra services, but genuinely cared and wanted to help us avoid car troubles in the future. Felix turned what could have been a very bad day into a pleasant business encounter. Thanks, Felix!!! read more

With 193 oil change places in Gilroy, very hard to decide whom to give your $80 to. Been coming here for about 5-6 changes now. Feel I'm not getting screwed , using the oil I ask for and and feel they are doing the work and tightening the "screws" With that in mind at least we know the work being asked is getting done and prices are in the ballpark. read more

Great service with a smile...welcoming and friendly. Fast turnaround.

I just had the worst experience here!! I went in for an oil change and got ripped off. I wanted a synthetic oil put in my car. Apparently there are two types regular synthetic and full synthetic. When I asked for an explanation or the difference between the two, the only thing the guy could tell me was the difference in price. I told him I wanted regular synthetic (cheaper of the two) and he went back and did whatever he wanted (which was putting in the more expensive synthetic). He then argued with me and told me that is what I wanted. After calling him on his mistake he then changed his story and told me they did not make sympathetic oil. This is a horrible place, I suggest never going there. They are liars and they are cheaters!!! This place doesn't even deserve one star!! read more
