Tamale with the goodness on top and half eaten cupcake, filled with goodness
Alicia J.

We came as far as S. San Francisco, with my nieces and I. Walked through Panapolis #2 on Alamaden Pkwy and ran into Sr. Panapolis himself. The ambiance of his cafe has the beautiful mexican artwork and smell of fresh pan mexicano. It's Tamale season and we each had their queso con arajas, topped w/crema y salsa verde, DELICIOUS. We each enjoyed their cupcake filled with fresa (strawberry), the cake itself had the perfect bite, hard to describe, let's just say our plates were empty! Ladies behind the counter served us with smiles and generous in giving us tastings, such as their champurada which niece enjoyed very much. We left with bags of pan mexicano. Worth the drive!!

Wow this place happened to be next door to where we had lunch so we had to check in out, we were definitely impressed buying cookies. Easy peasy like most bakeries and panaderias all their goodies are on display in cases so you can choose whatever your heart desires! We all chose different items. Went back for a box of goodies for the dementia care facility my Dad lives in the staff as well as my father and some of the residents loved the brightly colored cookies some with sprinkles and muffin like treats. Really impressed by the variety they have here.

Conchas

We had conchas for a school event, and they were a huge hit! EVERYONE kept asking where they were from because they were so good! Easily the best conchas I've had: fluffy, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The staff provided a great experience, and Aldo is awesome. Thank you!!

I just happened to pass by Panapolis, I had to stop and go in. Great variety, fresh, and friendly service! Everything I bought was fresh and yummy!

Panapolis donated to our school pan dulce for teacher & staff appreciation week! The staff loved the pan dulce! We reached out to a few of small business and Panapolis was the one who right away said yes to us! The Pan dulce was freshly made and delicious! Thank you so much for helping our community! We were able to give all the staff a sweet treat!

Shout out to my sister for spotting Panapolis Panderia at our local Target parking lot!! For those who are unfamiliar with PP, this little gem is a mobile bakery serving up fresh, warm to the touch, & deliciously authentic Mexican pastries. Be advised that the bakery is constantly on the move. In no way am I a pan dulce connoisseur but my picky palate is only impressed by a rare few when it comes to these little treats. Most of the time my purchases are met with overly dryness and disappointment. However, the delicious aroma exuding from this mobile bakery was more than I could handle and I made the decision to get in the forever growing line of patrons. Customer service was spot on from start to finish. The amount of offerings was huge and the vibrant colors was such a beautiful sight to see. Although they were sold out of my typical pink concha, we left with 2 vanilla flavored seashell pastries and a sprinkles cookie for my daughter. The pastries were handed off warm and although they were messy to eat, the baked goodies were delicious. The bread was soft on the inside with a nice firm crispness to the outer shell. Sweetness wasn't overwhelming like a normal American donut would be but just enough to satisfy any sweet tooth. The cookies had a nice buttery taste, kind of crumbly, and had a slightly extra crunch effect thanks to all of the sprinkles left my daughter in awe. 5 stars. Follow them on instagram for the latest updates, drool worthy images, & the location schedule!!!! I'd love to expand my tastebuds and try a few different items the next time around and hopefully PP will have my pink conchas. Fingers crossed because with the popularity of this business consistently growing, I'm sure items are more inclined to sell out... RUN Y'All, RUN!!!!

A nice, super clean bakery on the border of Berryesa and Downtown San Jose. I've been following their account on Instagram for a few months now and I finally made it to their store! It was right before closing and yet the pastries were still fresh and delicious. They were also well stocked. So many things to choose from thank goodness the lady behind the counter was very patient! They also have custom made cakes!

September is Latinx Heritage month as Bro and I came upon this cozy Mexican panaderia quite a hidden gem with a wide variety of authentic Mexican pan dulce (sweet bread) tortas, flan, galletas (cookies) tamales and much more. We noticed that there were no price listed yet the young lady was kind enough to give us the price of what we liked to order. First on the list conchas come in three flavor toppings, strawberry, vanilla and chocolate freshly baked and large size $1.50 each (cuernos amarillos) Mexican croissants $1.50 and custard cream rolls (barquillos con creame) $2.50 humongous size simply delicious yet so fulfilling. Would definitely be back and they are open at 4 in the morning whereas people are still asleep and business are still closed. Street parking only in this tightly knit business. Unlike other bakery shop here they do have a mobile truck bakery service that's a real plus so support your local business definitely my go-to for Mexican baked goods.

Given the short…read moretimeframe and large order size, they delivered everything quickly while serving great quality food. The service was fast, organized and the food was consistently great. If you're looking for a catering food truck for a small lunch window that delivers high quality and very quick service, I HIGHLY recommend Fire and Rice. Their Hawaiian Asian fusion menu is unique and stands out compared to other Asian or poke trucks I've tried. The garlic shoyu chicken and tuna poke were my personal favorites. I tried some of my coworkers garlic shrimp & Miso tofu too...surprisingly pretty GOOD! With inflation being what it is, their food is absolutely worth the price, and they were also flexible and willing to work within our reasonable budget. I can't recommend them enough. For catering inquiries, It was a little difficult getting them on the phone so we played phone tag a lot. I suggest texting or emailing Micah or Jessica for the quickest response, as they're often busy on the truck or during service.

Final Thoughts: 4.33/5…read more They were our caterer for a work party. This is a food truck and they seem to have everything ready to be served to us. Asian fusion foods are typically my go-to choice and so I was very excited that they were providing us food today. Food: Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl: 4.3/5 The sauce on this is divine with the chicken. It's like an unagi sauce with garlic in it. It has some saltiness, sweetness, and that umami flavor. Garlic taste and scent is present, but not too overpowering, which I really enjoyed. That flavor is great, but some places really overdo it for me. Just a personal preference though. For the chicken itself, it's very tender and juicy on the inside and still has some of that nice crunch on the outside. Perhaps this is because the cut of meat is the chicken thigh. It's not super crispy because I don't believe this is being fried to order for us. Seems to be food held in a warmer until its ordered. Kimchi was the side that they had provided with this dish and I am here for that. Some people aren't the biggest fan of this and I saw that from the looks my coworkers gave it. Personally, very much enjoyed it though. That sourness and spice from the kimchi just balances out this bowl really well. The veggies are nice and crispy. Gives it that freshness. Also, very slight detail and addition, but I always enjoy the sesame seeds and furikake sprinkle as a garnish. There's a nice nuttiness to it that they provide as a simple garnish. Spicy Tuna Poké: 4.0/5 This item was alright. The flavor was also really good, but I did get tired of eating just one type of poke protein. Typically when I go to get poke, it's 2 to 3 scoops of different proteins with various sauces to change up the flavor. I did get tired of this one after a few bites. The flavor of this item was very good though. There's a nice kick from it and the flavor tastes like a mix of kewpie mayo, soy sauce, sriracha, and sugar. Very simple, but you can't go wrong with those flavors. For the side, they added seaweed salad. Again, not your average side dish. Personally, I enjoyed it, but it might not be a common or familiar side dish for other individuals. It has a nice sweetness and nuttiness to it. For texture, there's a nice bite to it, which is ncie since the tuna is very soft and doesn't contribute much to the texture component. Menu: Small Their menu seems quite limited, but again, that is normal for a food truck, I believe. The items they provide do it just fine for me. I appreciate that they also have an option for the vegetarians. The menu we were provided was limited to 4 items, which is fine since the scale of this party wasn't anything too wild and we were able to satisfy everyone with what they provided. --------- Quality: Alright The quality of the food seems OK. It came out within a few minutes for us and I don't think it takes just a few minutes to fry that piece of chicken. I could be wrong though, so no one quote me on that. Just an observation. Not the highest expectations because their limited to the space and area in general. The product they provide is very good though. Overall, for something that has raw seafood in it, it seemed quite fresh and tasty. The items aren't made to order either and it's more assemble and serve to order, but again, they seem to be making it work with the product that they are selling. Price: Estimated Because this was a catering event, I am actually unaware of how much my administrator paid for the food. What I know is that she paid for a certain amount of bowls. From the looks of this item though, I want to estimate the price of each bowl being around $16 to $20 depending on the food item provided. Seems quite average for a bowl of food these days. Service: Quick and fast Because most of the food is already prepared and ready, the interaction with them itself is very limited. They took our order and provided us with the food. Nothing too significant to note and that is to be expected with the food truck. They were very sweet though and explained the menu items to be when I had a question. Ambiance: Simple and cute food truck The design on their food truck is so cute. The riceball is my favorite because it has this very cute face and just looks darling to me. The outside has a simple design with the name and logo on top and then perhaps some of the food items they provide written on the bottom section of the truck. Doesn't seem like anything too fancy, but simplicity is best for me. Location/Parking: Wherever they travel and navigate to Because they're a food truck, they can drive to you, which is really convenient. On Yelp, it states that their located on 36 Commercial Street in downtown, which might be where their truck is serving most of the time. Again, it is a food truck though, so they have the ability to drive to you and travel around to their customers, which is quite convenient is reaching a broader group of people.

Thankfully this turned out to be a solid choice for pizza and they do the concept justice. It's not as saucy of a pizza, but they do well with a crispy crust and the flavorful toppings. Their signs hadn't been updated for pricing, but it was 8" for $13 and 12" for $19. Our number got called up pretty quick so we didn't have to wait very long for the pizza to be done (5 minutes tops). Some pepper/cheese packets available for additional toppings. The whole thing was given to us in a pizza box which made for pretty easy transport at the market. It's actually nice they they're not as sauce heavy as other pizza spots (I can't actually partake in tomato anymore, so the fact they had options for me was neat too). We settled on the Chorizo for a more cheese-heavy and tomato free experience. Toppings were very fresh and the bottom/crust had a nice airy crispiness that made it worth eating to the last bite. Had a medium amount of heat to it with the jalapenos, but not too much without them. Remarkably flavorful and really well done (the little chorizo bites were quite popping, but so were the cheese bits). Definitely grab something from them if you're on the hunt for good pizza on the go.

I was pretty excited by the reviews and the Mexican fusion concept, but to be honest found the pizza a little bland. Enter Birria Rojas. Tacos: Good taste and Okay filling amount. Honestly the meat was flavorful and the amount of stuff they put IN the taco was acceptable given the price, however we did wish the tacos were put on the griddle a little longer to crisp them up a little more. I'd say they weren't perfect, but they definitely were worth the $ and tasty. Consume: Wish they gave you some when you order x amount of tacos like other places, but hey, it's understandable. The consume was pretty heavy handed in (I think) cinnamon and cloves (?). Not that it wasn't good, but it just wasn't what I wanted. It complimented the tacos very well so overall it was good but not great. Horchata: Delicious! smooth, cinnamon-y and just overall good. They executed this extremely well. Torta: OMG this thing was BIG. It looked amazing on the pictures on the truck and it looked amazing when we got it, but it looked better than it actually was. I'd say overall, the looks was a 5/5. The taste was a solid 4/5. Still very tasty, but didn't think it fully hit the mark. Service: The only two people in the truck were SUPER nice and very accommodating however there were a couple of issues on their end. 1) My total was $29. I gave the cashier $40. I was handed $9 back. After saying that I was shorted change, awkwardness ensued. It was an honest mistake and they gave me the right amount back so I just shrugged it off. 2) When I picked up my food, I ordered 1 Taco, 1 Torta, and 1 Combo (3x tacos, 1 Consume, and 1 Horchata). The person who gave me the food didn't give me the Horchata or Consume. Again they were VERY accommodating but I think they need to work out the kinks of their ordering. Overall, a good birria taco truck but with some logistical issues. We'd maybe go back but with so many options, we'd like to try others before coming back here.

The signage is subtle and easy to miss, but once you find it, it's well worth the effort. I first visited during their grand opening and have returned several times since. Without fail, the experience has been excellent. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Even during peak hours when the place is packed, I've never waited long to be seated, and the food always comes out quickly. I've worked my way through their menu: doner wraps, kebab plates, and a variety of sides; and every single dish has been a hit. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The consistency here is impressive, which is something I value highly in any restaurant. I already loved Mediterranean food, but BAHO's Turkish offerings really surprised me. Fresh vegetables, bold and flavorful sauces, and perfectly seasoned, savory meats come together in a way that feels both comforting and exciting. Keep in mind that the doner wrap is served in a bag because it can get messy, but if you remember those old Carl's Jr. commercials: "If it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face". If you're lucky enough to be helped by Boris, you're in great hands. He's incredibly kind, hardworking, and clearly takes pride in making sure guests have a great experience. On my first visit with my cousin, I told him we had no idea what to order, and he set us up with chicken doner wraps and a selection of appetizers. An excellent introduction to the menu that hooked us. Since then, I've brought my wife, friends, and family here, and every single person has walked away impressed. BAHO Mediterranean Cafe has easily become one of my go-to spots, and I can't recommend it enough. Quick update: It turns out that I posted my review too late, as they've been shut down by the city. It was the best Mexican food we had in a 20 minute radius and when my wife asked what I wanted for Father's Day I told her guaranteed good tacos so we came back. They are located in the centerish area of the fleamarket and are next to two other Mexican food trucks. The name implies their birria is very good but the funny thing is we go for normal tacos every time we come. The unique thing we noticed is their asada and pastor are more "wet" than normal and they seem to use a special cooking process. Asada Tacos: Perfect amount of onion, cilantro, and meat. The tortillas are balanced with how much oil is added so they are not soggy yet the tortilla is not too wet. They are my favorite for Asada without having to go to SF or Oakland. Al Pastor: My wife's favorite and this one I think is hard to nail that perfect balance between sweet, savory, and grilled. She also noted it has a much softer and wetter texture than other Al Pastors but tasted really good. She easily finished 2 tacos and probably wished she got one more. Chicken Quesadilla: For the kids, this one is HUGE and filling. Nice quantity of cheese and delicious chicken.
