Worst cake ever! Very dry and unpleasant taste! This is for a birthday and now it's the worst birthday ever! Never coming back.

Worst cake! Clearly no one has been checking on the cakes! Very unpleasant taste and dry!!! Supposed to be an Oreo cake but it's far from being Oreo. Never again!

I was looking for a bakery that will be able to make the cake my nice want it. I had bad experiences in the past and I wanted to surprise my niece with a cake that my daughter chose for her. I luckily found Mexico Bakery and not only that but RICARDO was the one that bake and decorated my cake. He called me and gave me some recommendations and changes regarding the colors and design that I chose. I told him to do whatever he thought it was better. I WAS AMAZED WITH THE RESULTS the cake was not only perfect in size and decoration but it was delicious. Ricardo make a tres leches cake with a layer of strawberries, and another layer of peaches. I WANT YO THANK YOU RICARDO YOU HAVE SUCH A BLESSED HANDS AND TALENT

Milaneza torta is very good especially hot

I get these tortas (Mexican sandwiches) when I have guests from Asia. They're usually amazed at the sheer volume of meat in them. It's almost unanimous that they all love the Milaneza torta. Once while I also get the carne asada torta and during breakfast times I'd get the cubana. You can't go wrong with any of their tortas unless you did what I did - bring to the golf course. It's just too massive to eat on the golf cart. All of your friends will question what the heck it is, and you'll have to explain that this is the best torta in the Bay Area. If this is your first time, get the Milaneza or Carne Asada. The Milaneza is a breaded carne asade (beef). There's some garlic or cumin flavor that I can't make out but I assure you it's yummy. The rest of the torta consist of generous avocado slices, jalapeños, Mexican cheese and I think tomatoes. Although 1 sandwich can feed 2, I'd gladly finish a whole sandwich just because it's so delicious. This is a bakery but I am reviewing the tortas today. Their bakery is not my type of food as I find Mexican breads a little too sweet. It's a standard ambiance of a bakery. There is a cashier that takes your order and you pick up your food at the far end of the counter. Hope this helps your decision to visit here.

    Pan Dulce

5 freakin' stars simply for Mexico Bakery's pan dulce!!! These babies always have me drooling for more... Shout out to my little sis for constantly raving about Mexico Bakery and my girlfriend who officially introducing me to all of this goodness. I actually had the pleasure of having my first bite a few years ago at a party the gf was throwing and I was immediately drawn to these vibrant, fluffy, and obviously stunning pastries. I kid you not, it was LOVE AT FIRST BITE. The concha [shell shaped pastry] was pillowy soft, sweet but not overly sweet, and crumbly coating on top was such an enjoyed contrast in texture. During that first encounter, I lost count of how many I actually ate & made sure to take one for the road. LMAO- sorry, not sorry. Each and every visit is met with the same high quality product, delicious tasting purchases, and guaranteed satisfaction. While I always tell myself to think outside of the box and venture out to new baked goods, I always gravitate to these beauties and have yet to accomplish my goal of veering from my norm. I hear MB's tortas are magical, maybe one day I'll be able to test out all the heavy hype...

Champurrado -- was kinda watered down

A big fan of Mexico Bakery... but this one was just not it. I would come back here again but probably a few months later.... They had a lot of Rosca de Reyes which is a good thing! Here's my take on this though: the food. Service: 2/5. the people working at this specific location really need to check their attitude sometimes... I was literally rushed while in line, and the communication was just not there. Like please don't rush me while taking my order... it's just disrespectful. Do better. I was only going to order a champurrado... and they did have a lot of it left but... their attitude just made me feel really dismissed. Food: 4/5. The champurrado was good, the only thing missing was not enough piloncillo.... Otherwise it was okay. Atmosphere: 3/5. While parking isn't big and grand, the decorations for Dia De Reyes made up for it.

    Milaneza Sandwich

First timer at Mexico Bakery! Was recommended by my husband's barber to try the Milaneza Sandwich. That sandwich was pretty big... so big my husband and I could split it and both be satisfied. It came with a lot of meat and was very flavorful. Read a lot about chocoflan, so we picked one up with the sandwich. It was okay in my opinion. Overly sweet, but kinda dry at the same time. I would pass on the dessert next time around.

    Bread prices
    Magdalena L.

One of the most expensive panaderias for mediocre bread! They are selling bread no less than $2.30- all the common types of pan dulce like concha, elote, polvorones, cuernos are all that price and anything else is a bit more. I feel like every month or so they raise the prices a bit more! So disappointing!

The Torta Cubana is amazing!! Delicious and filling one is enough for two people the pan Dulce is also great lots of variety!!

Decided to try tortas for the first time since living in San Jose and to make the long story short, my socks were knocked off! I definitely regret not trying it sooner! My coworker raved about Mexico Bakery and how great the tortas. I was sold and decided that I had to see what the hype was about! I went to the restaurant around 2 pm last week. When I arrived, I was met with the delicious smell of baked items that wafted through the restaurant. I was the only customer there which relieved me since it gave me the opportunity to ask questions tortas and the overall menu. I ordered the Milanesa Torta (breaded meat) with everything on it. I waited about 10 minutes for my order to be prepared and my excitement grew when the aroma of my food hit my nose! The first thing I noticed when I got my order was the size and weight of my torta. It was heavy and bigger than my hand! Once home, I was ready to dig in and with the first bite I was taken on an adventure. This may have been the best sandwich I've had in my life! All the ingredients were fresh and hot! I was only able to eat half the torta since it was huge, but it made for a great meal for dinner! I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for baked goods or try something new in San Jose!

    Steak torta

I was suggested this place from a coworker local to the area. I was told they have steak tortas that you don't wanna pass up. I'd be damned he was right.. located off of the 101 this place is easy to get to with a small parking lot in the back. Very clean and efficient inside you will find more than you came for. I'd have to say they carry the standard mexican baked bread goods but at a higher quality than 90% of places. Secondly, you're gonna be surprised to find out that they have an almost full mexican food menu as well. I will say that the chorizo burrito was greasy to the point that most people will not forgive or look past the puddle. Not for the weak at heart but lucky for you they have other options. The steak/asada torta to be exact is the numero uno reason to come here. Huge portion and even bigger flavor, you gotta try it.. Lastly I'd like to mention the staff has always been super nice, patient and makes you feel comfortable. That could be due to me pulling out my spanish to order but I'd like to imagine that everybody gets the same experience otherwise it wouldn't be so busy lol. I tell all my coworkers they need to check this joint out, spreading the word. I actually told a friend from socal/LA to try this while they're in town and he gave it the thumbs up so I'd put my name next to this establishment..lol

Don't sleep on the black pepper sausage danish: the croissant dough is crisp and flaky, and doesn't get soggy when baked around the sausage. It's comparable in execution to the Croissant Hot Dog served at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas (in Caesar's Palace), but at a way more accessible price point. Which isn't to say this place is cheap; like many artisanal bakeries in California, it comes with a premium price tag, but at least it's not Dominique Ansel pricy. Croissante's croissant dough baked goods (viennoiserie) is pun-intended "proof" that you get what you pay for. The dining space is limited and lively. Conversing is a little tough, but if you just need a place to sit while eating, it's just right. Extra special shout out this time to Dill who had informed me the fried chicken dishes today would be an hour and a half wait. After deciding there wasn't anything I wanted more than the Fried Chicken and Spiced Croffle (croissant dough baked in a waffle iron) and was happy to wait, they were nice enough to check in with the kitchen and see if it could be made sooner than that. I didn't expect to be accommodated, so I was happy they were able to do that. You get two chicken thighs and croffles per order. It's enough for two light eaters to share.

I got the longanisa sando. The bread was just like the typical shokupan you can find in japan. Fluffy, with a hint of sweetness. The sando's meat worked very well with the sandwich. The egg was a very nice combination too. My only complaint is that the egg could've also been fluffier, more soft and raw where egg here was pretty hard and firm. Also, it would've been good to have egg flavored with dashi or more butter, but that's all just my personal preference. The cheese really bind the meat and the egg well. What I have to mention is the habanero sauce (Or I think it was? You can see in the pic the label was kinda washed out so I'm not sure exactly what the sauce was). Perfect amount of spicy kick and a sweetness combined. Using the sauce really took up the sandwich by a notch but it might not be for everyone since it is rather spicy. The staff were very friendly and the inside had a good chill vibe with good back ground music. I'd definitely want to be back to try out more!
