So excited when I found this spot because they're from Michoacán which is where our families are from and they have handmade tortillas. The owners were very friendly, great customer service. The handmade tortilla taco is more than a regular street taco, but it's worth it. We were each given an extra tortilla not sure if that's normal or they gave us an extra one just because. The 2 things they need are a spicy salsa and grilled onions/chiles. They have 3 different ones, one being guacamole and 2 salsas. They weren't spicy. I would come back and maybe try other things on the menu like the quesadilla and quesabirria tacos.

Great tacos! We ordered the Quesabirria tacos combo, 3 for $10 dollars! It comes with a drink of your choice and consome. The food came out fresh and piping, I was pleasantly surprised. The cheese was gooey and rich. Overall definitely worth the $10 dollars. With tax it is $11 dollars. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming! When we ordered there was a few seating available set up with a tent! Good eats.

The quesabirrias are scrumptious they're the perfect size, cheesy and the meat is tasty! The consomé is perfection. We would always drive by this truck but didn't think twice to stop until hubs ordered it one night... and boooy, it's the spot! We now like this spot better than El Rincon de Rita, which was a fave for a few years. Service was quick. The truck itself is/was clean. There's also seating in front of the truck. We'll be back!

Headed to our friends house and found this gem. (There's A LOT of trucks up Alum Rock-- happy we got pulled to this place. The name definitely helped with the decision. The birririas were SOOO GOOD; not too cheesy nor too greasy. We ordered 3, $10 plate that included the consome and canned drink-- and they had my manzanita! WE WILL BE BACK! (The front lady was also very sweet and asked if it was our first time...very attentive to our curiosity on what to order. )

Great service and delicious food. They also offer a clean, comfortable seating area for dining in. Plenty of parking available as well. Highly recommend!

Loved the Quesabirria taco's with consome. They have a deal where you get 3 Quesabirria taco's & a drink for $10! They're parked right across the street from James Lick High School and have tables and chairs available to eat there. The service was fast and friendly including the older gentleman that welcomed us and asked how everything was. Being Mexican, it made me feel right at home with that type of hospitality that you just don't see as often. Definitely will be coming back to try their regular tacos next time.

I was quite surprised to see a mobile taco truck pulled onto the parking lot where I bought some croissants at a Colombian bakery shop. Had to check it out and they had a great deal a quesabirra combo comprised of three quesabirra tacos with all the fillings meat, cheese, onions and comes with two kinds of sauce and a free drink of your choice all for $10 that's a saving in itself and I can see why is so popular judging by its rave reveiws. Quesabirra was so delicious and the couple that runs the mobile truck were so pleasant and downright friendly. Definitely the best homemade Mexican meal and it's cash only.

Ordered 2 pollo and 1 birria taco, and they gave me Consommé. The tacos were very good, and the consommé was very flavorful. Service was relatively fast, and the ambiance was a food truck.

It was my first time here, I got the quesabirria tacos. (3 tacos for $10 special) with a FREE drink! They're delicious! The meat is super soft and the consommé is tasty as well. The lady taking my order was so sweet and friendly! Wait time was probably around ~10-15 min! I'll definitely be stopping by again soon.

Quesabirria tacos plate + corn tortilla quesadilla w/a side of consume from the birria (a must!)

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

We ordered 2x Carne Asada Taco 7/10 2x Al Pastor 7/10 Asada Burrito Bowl 7/10 Enchiladas with Rojo Sauce 7/10 The burrito bowl was good, but for the price point you may be better off going to Chipotle, I felt that the burrito bowl was a bit soggy. The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

I…read morewent with some family and everyone missed the turn on right and had to U turn and try again just FYI Depending on when you go parking can be difficult, if it is packed I would recommend parking the street over and walking. Most of the food is prepared in a food truck where you line up and order. Seating is next to the sauce bar and they have first come first serve seating. Typical culture is to put the sauce directly on the tacos when you receive them. They give sauce cups if you order to go otherwise they are reluctant to give them out. Currently they are constructing a building around their seating area which is new. This implies that they are generating enough cash to turn their food truck and seating area into an actual establishment. Onto the food review! Carne Asada 7/10 Lengua 7.5/10 Carnitas 8/10 Cabeza 8.3 /10 Suadero 8.5/10 Al Pastor 8.5/10 Suadero and Pastor were top contenders with the most flavor depth. Personally I liked the cabeza as it was very soft, but the flavor can't compare to the suadero. The carne asada lacked flavor in my opinion and was the least tasty out of the meats we tried. Carnitas had that great crunch you're looking for in a taco as it is seared excellently. Lengua was flavorful and super soft just like the cabeza which indicates that they were both braised to perfection. All choices are very solid albeit be prepared for a very greasy meal. The star of the show is their avocado salsa! They offered 6 other sauces in their sauce bar but the avocado salsa was superb compared to the others. This was the only option that had me coming back to sauce bar throughout my meal. They also offered pickled carrots, jalapeños, and onions at their sauce bar to help balance the flavors. Finally the best JD big back tip is to get the large strawberry horchata! It was so good we finished ours before even taking a picture of it! The flavor profile on that beverage is superb, imagine a creamy strawberry yakult that is the perfect option to balance greasy tacos. This is a hidden gem item as their strawberry horchata is significantly better than other restaurants version of it. They also offer other flavored horchata but the strawberry remains top tier.

The marinade is perfect and the meat is tender. I've never tried their burritos, only because I can't get enough of their tacos which is crazy because I'm usually the opposite. But Tres Reyes is just that good. I love how they have a dedicated dining area that is always clean. I've never had trouble finding a seat either. The dining area has a full salsa bar with all myriad sauces. They even have picked red onions, jalapeños, and carrots. So good with tacos. Finally, the selection of aguas frescas they have is insane. They have like 8 different flavors if I'm not mistaken. My absolute favorite is the melon/cantaloupe drink. It's so sweet and refreshing. You can definitely taste the fresh melon. So by all means, visit Tres Reyes. Just not too much cuz it's mine!!! ;)

However wifey got really sick. It's Mother's Day today and she's stuck in bed. I ate 1/4 of her burrito but I'm fine. So not sure how to rate this. Taste is pretty good. We asked for no beans so it's a bit plain but I still enjoyed it. - Gringas is like a quesadilla with pastor. It's alright but not worth $10+. I'd rather get 3 tacos! - Carne asada meat has a nice Smokey flavor. However it's jerky like toughness and a bit dry. - Someone in another review was raving about this place having the best Al pastor. So all of that hype made it a bit of a downer since I find it mid. Service (3 stars) + Typical food truck style ordering but it's more of a trailer. They have a little salsa bar with about 4-5 sauce options. They serve it with pineapple, which is the way it's meant to be done and a detail that tells you they actually care about getting it right. These are easily some of the best tacos in San Jose, and I don't say that lightly given how much competition there is in the South Bay. But the drinks alone might be worth the trip. Their Horchata and Agua Fresca are genuinely among the best I've had anywhere in the Bay Area and that's a real statement in a region with no shortage of excellent options.
