2 pastor and 1 carne asada tacos
    Victor L.

Quick tip: Get your $20 for $15 in the info section on Yelp. You'll be able to feed 2 for about $20! My wife loved it. I'm with her on most points. This is your neighborhood taco truck. It's everything you'll expect. Authentic simple Mexican. Today I just got the tacos but I'll come back for their super burrito. Our Ratings Asada 4.5/5 Pastor 5/5 (love the strips of meat) Cabeza 3/5 Lengua 4/5 They have 3 sauces. We got one of each which worked out best. Their red sauce is very spicy. Didn't need to much of it for my pastor. Their green sauces were all similar. I couldn't differentiate. If I can add constructive criticism, this place could add an orange sauce with a sweet/spicy mix and just do 1 type of green sauce. For reference my favorite taco truck was Tacos Los Reyes when they had the salsa bar and tacos were $2. They got popular, upped the prices and pandemic took away the salsa bar. I haven't been back there since so this is one of the few taco trucks I've been. I like it.

Carne Asada Tacos (don't mind my bite)

This taco truck is located in the back of the Eastridge Mall parking lot. My best friend and I were searching for taco spots nearby as we drove past this truck when we were leaving the mall parking lot. I decided to try the carne asada tacos while my friend tried the carne asada quesadilla. Street tacos are my favorite! They looked and smelled so good, I had realized I've taken a bite of my taco before taking a picture. My tacos were so tasty; loved the flavor of the tacos with the green and red sauce on top of it. My friend and I sat in the car eating and didn't say a word to each other until we finished our food.

I've seen this truck once before and it immediately peaked my interest. The location of the truck is in Eastridge's parking lot entrance specifically by the food court. If you look straight across where the parking lot tends to be emptier - you've found it. We ordered a taco plate with 3 al pastors and 1 lengua along with a carne asada burrito. My boyfriend loved the al pastor tacos - it was very well seasoned and tender. The burrito I had was also delicious and had such a good amount of meat. They hooked us up with so many sauce containers. Red sauce was super spicy and definitely burned. Green sauce was refreshing and paired well with the burrito! Loved our experience and I'll for sure be back to try the other meats and menu items.

Service was excellent. I got tacos de Al pastor and they were delicious. The salsas are also good, red one if you want some real heat. Sat under a nice shaded tent even though it was very hot and sunny it made it pleasant. Right next to JC Penny and the bus stop. Was hard to find at first for us. When you turn into Eastridge go right. Delicious!

Ok, so I go to 24 Eastridge to workout almost every day and one Friday, my boyfriend and I wanted Mexican! (We're always craving tacos/burritos LOL) there's a few places we know but wanted to try something new, and sooo glad we found this food truck! We were a bit skeptical at first because we haven't heard of this place and I'm sure we've seen the truck around the parking lot but, like I said, we are so glad we tried it! We ordered (x3) al pastor tacos and a super al pastor burritos! If I remember correctly, each taco was $3 and a super burrito was about $12? nonetheless, the tacos and burritos were so good! What we absolutely love about this place is their SAUCES!! I'm telling you, they are SPICY. My bf and I love our spices and we can handle the heat. But something about their green/red/orange sauce that was just spicy! Don't get me wrong, they were a delicious addition to our food but damn, all places need their sauces to be this spicy!! We believe the orange sauce is their mango habanero or so and it was our favorite sauce!! Definitely recommend this food truck for a quick fix after your workout or even after shopping!

The hubby ordered tacos and a cheese quesadilla for delivery from here a few weeks ago. I refused as I had eaten already, but there were leftovers: an al pastor taco and half of the quesadilla. What a mistake!!! I had some room so I went ahead and had the al pastor taco... It was yummy...good marinade. I like that they have the taco accouterments on the side. The salsas are so fresh and spicy. I then was curious about the cheese quesadilla... one bite and my mind was blown! Best cheese quesadilla ever. It's not oily at all and the cheese is simply delicious. We recently ordered tacos and the quesadilla to share again. I told my husband I would need him to order me my own quesadilla next time!

Never tried Tacos El Pelon, and I wanted to try a new place for burritos. Saw all the great reviews so I placed an order for delivery. I chose the cabeza supreme burrito with no beans. After unwrapping half the burrito, I saw the outside of it was very greasy. I figured maybe they had it sitting on the grill top just a tad too long. That's ok. I think I started on the wrong half of the burrito because the first inch or two was rice only. Halfway through, you can see there's a pretty generous amount of meat, but barely any avocado peaking through. The bottom part of the burrito had all the cilantro, onions, sour cream, and avocado. Writing this, I just remembered that it should have had cheese, but I don't recall seeing any. The taste of everything was decent but I did wish that the burrito was better constructed and that all those other elements weren't stuck at the bottom. The whole burrito was very oily. Oil kept dripping down my hand and fingers and I had a large pile of greasy napkins when I finished. I would give the taste and experience a 3/5 because of how much meat they put. However, I got sick that night and had nothing else out of the ordinary earlier that day. I have to take another star off for all the grease. Given all the good reviews, maybe I caught them on a bad day :/

I think I've found my new favorite taco truck!! Ordered doordash from here recently and everything was packaged super well. I ended up eating it an hour later and it was still SO good reheated. I got an al pastor quesadilla and 3 tacos: asada, pastor, and lengua. The al pastor was my favorite for sure, it was super flavorful. The lengua was also great, the texture was just right. I really liked how they included everything: lime, grilled onions, onion & cilantro, and even radishes. They have this spicy and sweet salsa that was amazing and really went well with the tacos. Love that they also accept card. I will definitely be back(probably soon tbh lol) :-)

4 tacos: cabeza, lengua, pastor, y asada! I also got a asada burrito. The food is really good.

The tacos this time wasn't as good as last time. Maybe it was a bad batch. Still decent though. I usually like to support small/single business but maybe next time I'll get another dish from here.

I was searching for delicious taco truck tacos and I was not disappointed when I found this place. Walked up on a cold and rainy day and ordered 3 tacos de carne asada, 1 taco de al pastor, and one cheese quesadilla. My order was ready pretty fast and I took a large bite of the quesadilla. A mouthful of melted cheesy goodness. The tacos were delicious. I liked the carne asada more then the al pastor. The meat was savory and not overcooked. My plate came with grilled onions and a Chile and rábanos. The grilled onions complemented the tacos nicely. The tortilla had a little bit of meat grease so they were crunchy. I had a hard time finding parking but saw that to the right of the taco truck there was space to park. I will return with an empty stomach to devour more tacos soon!

Great tacos, loved the lengua tacos. Lots of parking, chill clean area. Call to check if they are open as sometimes they are away for an event

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

Most of the food is prepared in a food truck where you line up and order. Seating is next to the sauce bar and they have first come first serve seating. Typical culture is to put the sauce directly on the tacos when you receive them. They give sauce cups if you order to go otherwise they are reluctant to give them out. Currently they are constructing a building around their seating area which is new. This implies that they are generating enough cash to turn their food truck and seating area into an actual establishment. Onto the food review! Carne Asada 7/10 Lengua 7.5/10 Carnitas 8/10 Cabeza 8.3 /10 Suadero 8.5/10 Al Pastor 8.5/10 Suadero and Pastor were top contenders with the most flavor depth. Personally I liked the cabeza as it was very soft, but the flavor can't compare to the suadero. The carne asada lacked flavor in my opinion and was the least tasty out of the meats we tried. Carnitas had that great crunch you're looking for in a taco as it is seared excellently. Lengua was flavorful and super soft just like the cabeza which indicates that they were both braised to perfection. All choices are very solid albeit be prepared for a very greasy meal. The star of the show is their avocado salsa! They offered 6 other sauces in their sauce bar but the avocado salsa was superb compared to the others. This was the only option that had me coming back to sauce bar throughout my meal. They also offered pickled carrots, jalapeños, and onions at their sauce bar to help balance the flavors. Finally the best JD big back tip is to get the large strawberry horchata! It was so good we finished ours before even taking a picture of it! The flavor profile on that beverage is superb, imagine a creamy strawberry yakult that is the perfect option to balance greasy tacos. This is a hidden gem item as their strawberry horchata is significantly better than other restaurants version of it. They also offer other flavored horchata but the strawberry remains top tier.

That kind of reliability is more rare than it should be, and it's worth calling out. The tacos themselves are the main event. The Carne Asada, Suadero, and Al Pastor are all standouts, but the Al Pastor especially earns its spot. They serve it with pineapple, which is the way it's meant to be done and a detail that tells you they actually care about getting it right. These are easily some of the best tacos in San Jose, and I don't say that lightly given how much competition there is in the South Bay. But the drinks alone might be worth the trip. Their Horchata and Agua Fresca are genuinely among the best I've had anywhere in the Bay Area and that's a real statement in a region with no shortage of excellent options. The salsa bar is a nice bonus: a self-serve setup where you scoop what you want into containers, and they send you off with baggies of fresh cilantro and onion so you can finish the tacos exactly how you like them. This is the only time I didn't finish the burrito and usually it has a lot more flavor but unfortunately this time I was disappointed in the quality to the point I didn't finish it. Tacos suadero 8/10 cabeza con el vapor 9.5/10 lengua con el vapor 6/10 carne asada 6/10 al pastor 8.5/10 The tacos were the star of the show tonight with the their Al Pastor Tacos and Cabeza con el vapor! Those had the best flavor profile The green and orange sauces were okay, not extremely flavorful and receive a sauce rating of 2.5/5; it's good for the first couple bites then the flavor fatigue gets real. Next time only cabeza and al pastor in taco form. Panchito is a nice taco truck located next to the tire shop. They have extremely nice staff that really make you feel at home. I usually come here whenever I am craving Mexican food and sometimes it is hit or miss. They have tables outside but sometimes it's too cold at night so I Togo the food home, but they always play some great music there!

Why have I just tried this Mexican restaurant?! I've always seen their food truck a few years back…read morebefore they began to gain enough finances for brick and mortar store fronts! Yay for mom and pop eats :) Well, I was introduced to this place by my best friend, but I never carried cash to go, so I never tried it until another friend of mine mentioned the Blossom Hill location and them accepting credit card payment! (Yay, but let's not get carried away). I came on a Tuesday evening with friends and saw the place packed! Thats always a good sign~ We each ordered an individual dish to eat and chat. I was intrigued by the burrito bowl and worried it may be small. Jokes on me, it was way more than enough! Don't let the size of the bowl trick you into thinking it's not enough. The avocado was nice and perfectly ripe, the crema sauce drizzle was not overwhelmingly added onto the ball, and the salsa had a nice acid and tomatoey compliment to the beans, meat, shredded lettuce, rice, and cheese! I think this place is pretty solid for the price point and quality. They also have a free for all sauce bar too which is nice! Everything is so spicy, except for the green salsa lol. Servers seemed okay. They didn't really check on us, but it feels like a service yourself kind of place. You grab your own waters, condiments, and sauce here. If you want their chunky mango salsa, you have to flag a server down! However, 1 star is knocked off for the credit card charge, which I'm not even sure what the percentage is. I didn't see a sign at the register or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I think this should be mentioned on the door and possibly their menu (if it isn't already). Can someone confirm if the credit card charge is 3%? Even my receipt wasn't clearly mentioning the percentage--just the fact that there's a credit card processing fee.

There is a QR code (see photo) Cali-taco: it's a good size, fries are crispy. We recommend this one. Would get it again. Quesabirria: 2.5/5 - it was just ok. Wasn't as flavorful as I've had before Super burrito: 3.9/5 - it's a hefty size. Very filling. I had to eat half otherwise I'd go into full nap mode after. I'd recommend it for any burrito lover and someone who can eat a lot.
