My first time trying Panago Pizza! Panago is a Canadian chain from British Columbia. They have three locations in Ottawa, this one in Old Ottawa South, one downtown and one in Barrhaven. So I was walking by and saw in their window a Daily Combo Special for $8 for a personal-sized pizza, a dip and a drink. I figured why not? So you can get any of the pre-set pizza combinations (they call them "recipe pizzas"), or you can build your own to a maximum of 6 toppings. I chose my own toppings and chose grilled chicken, spinach, artichokes, mushrooms, green peppers and red peppers. I got the Cheezy Cheddar dip and a bottle of Orange Crush. I snapped a few pictures of the food in the store for y'all, but I got it to go and ate it at home. It wasn't as hot when I got home so I stuck it in the oven for a bit to warm it up. The pizza was pretty good. They were generous with the toppings and it didn't taste overly greasy. While I enjoyed the pizza, I felt there was nothing really distinctive about it taste-wise. Perhaps I should have tried the coconut curry or sweet and smoky tropical sauces instead of their standard tomato sauce. Maybe next time. Nonetheless the price wasn't bad and the pizza was done in about 10 minutes. Their tomato sauce is organic, which I appreciate. There's no indication that the other sauces are organic. I liked that you get a bottle of pop instead of the usual can (you get more and it's resealable). However, I was unimpressed that I was given expired dipping sauce. My visit was on April 2, 2022 and my dip expired on March 26, 2022. Boo hiss! They need to do a better job of checking their inventory because giving customers expired food is unacceptable. I'm not gonna chance it by eating expired dairy, so I can't tell you what the Cheezy Cheddar dip tasted like. Minus one star for giving me expired food! :( Staff were courteous and patient as I tried to figure out what I wanted. I was the only customer in the store at 3:45pm on a Saturday. My benchmark for amazing pizza was Somerset Pizza circa 1989. In my opinion, we've slid a long way downhill from quality food made with care to commoditized crap that barely qualifies as the lowest common denominator. I live next door to a neighbourhood pizza shop and I desperately want to love them, but I can't. Their pizza is truly awful. Pretty good shawarma, but awful pizza. For the past two years I've been on a quest for good neighbourhood 'za. So far, everyone that delivers in my area can be described as mediocre at best. Usually I end up with a too-thick crust underneath boring sauce and questionable toppings, hidden by a placenta of too salty cheese with a pool of grease in the middle. How did we ever get to this point? It was with these low expectations that I decided to try Panago. I found them somewhat by accident driving home from the theatre and noted their existence. I ordered a medium Panago Classic (Italian Tomato Sauce, Pepperoni, Canadian Ham, Red Onions, Sautéed Mushrooms, Black Olives, Green Peppers, Mozzarella Cheese) with a regular hand-thrown crust. By the time I was done with tax, delivery charge and tip the bill came to about $25.00. A little pricier than average, but if the quality was there, it would be worth it, right? It was. The crust was cooked right on the money and just the right thickness for my liking. Not so thin that it folds up and you end up with hot cheese in your lap, but not so thick that you notice it. This crust was basically invisible until right up to the edge, where you have about a 1/2" bone to chew on while you contemplate whether you want to blow the diet and have another slice or not. The sauce was a lovely passata, which served as a lovely bass line for the toppings to play off of. Next came a thin layer of cheese, just enough to form a substrate, then the oh so fresh toppings. Then more cheese. Not enough to form a sheet of salty goo, but enough to lock stuff together. The olives and mushrooms were the soloists in this little jazz, and the way they were arranged, they got to shine on their own. Did I mention fresh? Look, making pizza isn't rocket science, but it is s certain art to getting it right. I think a fair comparison is truck stop coffee versus Starbucks (before you go all coffee hipster, you don't know what it was like here in the before times) versus Cafe au Lait at The Blue Moon. Panago (which happens to be a national multi-unit out of Toronto) is solidly in at least the category of Starbucks. Competent, slightly artisanal, and hopefully a force that drives the locals to raise their game. Is it epic pizza of all pizzaness? No. but graded on the curve that is the Ottawa pizza scene it's a solid 4 stars. This may change when I make it back to Moe's Newport. read more

My roommate and I ordered " the medium Plant Based Beyond Spicy Calabrese " from Panago Pizza tonight for dinner and it was really good. My roommate is vegan and it is often a challenge to find places that will be a decent price, appetizing, and taste good as well. It was delivered within 30 minutes of ordering it. The delivery was easy and followed proper social distancing protocol (due to COVID-19). Really great size for two roommates, and some leftovers as well. Tried to order from here but apparently I live out of the delivery range. That's funny because I only live 5 minutes away. I was told by the person on the phone that I was in range, but something in the system was associating me with the wrong location. She assured me she could fix it, but had to speak with her supervisor first. I got a call back shortly after telling me that I was in fact out of range. I think it was clear that the supervisor was too lazy to work around the error and decided to brush me off. Suffice to say I ordered from Gabriel's instead. Probably better pizza anyways. read more

Pizza was good. I liked that they had vegan options. But they have a very bad customer service. The staff are very immature. They are very rude and keep yelling at the location. We had a very bad experience. There other places with great vegan options and exceptional customer service like "1 for all pizza" and "Fiazza". Will never come back to this place again. read more

Was pretty impressed with this place. Super fair prices (cheaper than a lot of other delivery places). Best cheesy bread I've ever had. Their pizza tastes better for the next days after being in the fridge than most pizza places. Their crust is really good, not greasy, not too thin and not too thick. Their jalapeño dipping sauce is pretty good too (although I don't understand why it's in a tiny container you can't dip your pizza in!) read more

This new Ottawa branch is my first experience with the Panago Pizza chain/brand. The interior is bright, clean and friendly. The employees are friendly and helpful. There are a number of crust options that accommodate the the gluten sensitive folks as well as Daiya cheese and crusts for the vegans. My partner is vegan and I'm excited that if push comes to shove, I finally have somewhere that I can order a pizza from! The toppings on my pizza weren't abundant but they were certainly more plentiful than any other vegan pizza I've had in Ottawa. Daiya, doesn't have the same glueing power that mozzarella does. The non-vegan combinations on the menu looked really good and I will definitely be back to try them! Other customers that were waiting, who have had Panago before were really enthusiastic about this new addition to the neighbourhood. So Score Pizza outside of the Rideau Centre is the best pizza you'll ever try in Ottawa BUT since they don't deliver, Panago is my go to. I'm actually ashamed of how many skip the dishes orders I place in general lol but Panago is so good! Hate their dipping sauce so I tend to stock up on creamy garlic from Pizza Pizza which pairs nicely with it. My only complaint is that they don't offer sizes larger than 14" and that corn on Pizza is pretty gross, other than that, 10s 10s 10s across the board!!! read more

Since Panago Pizza opened, it has become my favorite place to order a pizza. They really know how to keep you coming back because of their excellent customer service. I have received a telephone call from them twice, giving me a $5 credit which is valid for 3 months. There are so many choices for pizzas and the type of crust one wants. I highly recommend Panago Pizza, and I am so grateful that it is in my area. read more

I have had the pleasure to try several pizzas at the first Panago Pizza store in Ottawa. Not only do they make delicious pizza in a professional way but they also do so with a smile on their face. The staff makes you feel very welcome, the atmosphere and their business ethic are incomparable. I can only recommend their pizzas; they have something to offer for everyone. My personal favourite is the Veggie Korma on thin multigrain crust but if you want the best vegan pizza in town-which I have also tried and loved it-or if you are gluten intolerant then they have something exceptional to offer to you too. Fell in love with Panago while I was living in Calgary and so happy it's final here in Ottawa! It's basic pizza (compare it to Pizza Pizza or Pizza Hit) but the Chipotle Chicken pizza is to die for! I could eat their Chipotle sauce by the spoonful! read more

First time in there. They have a lot of Pizzas to choose from, but I finally ordered a personal Chipotle Chicken. It was Delicious. The place was busy when I walked in, but the girl on the cash was friendly. The place is bright and clean with an open kitchen. Doesn't look like the typical Pizza joints. read more
