Got off work and I wanted to enjoy some bread and milk, was thinking about it all night. I get to Pan y Leche and I pick out my favorites pineapple filled, orejas, and puerquitos. I get home and pour myself some milk and put on my favorite show. When I took the first bite I thought I was gonna be in heaven but no.... I got a mouth full of stale old bread. Took bites from all of the bread I got and each was more disappointing than the last. I rather eat FOOD4LESS pan dulce than this garbage and FOOD4LESS pan is a joke. The three most common words I picked up on a Saturday morning by the men eating burritos and drinking coffee were in no particular order: pinche, cabron, and buey. Ok so this place is awesome.My friend took us there for breakfast. 1st time visitor here how my visit went down (be kind and gentle- you will see why!) Ok so i am hispanic and I grew up going to the panaderia(s) on a daily basis for bolillos conchas postres, etc. Well im in my mid 30's and its been well over 20 yrs+ that i have stepped in a panaderia. So upon going in my friend and I started going at it with the picking the bread. Well I forgot you had to use your tongs and the tray- so that was a funny scene *you had to be there. The cashier was just looking at us like we had issues/problems. LOL. She was laughing with and at us. I dont blame her. El cafe de la holla was EXCELLENT! It reminded me of the coffee my grandma used to make, que en pas descanse. Aside from raiding the pastries, I ordered a chorizo torta. It was an ok torta only because i felt that it lacked something else. It was a bit dry. It needed like crema, avocado and salsa. But overall good. Really disappointing. One day I went in for tres leches cake. They had no cakes or individual slices to sell. Then I asked about ordering the spinach empandas on their menu, but they were out of those as well. I finally did get to try their tres leches and can't say that it anything but mediocre. They also insist on including walnuts in the cake which is fine if you like them, but when you don't and there are no other options, it kind of sucks. They also charge a .50 fee to use a credit card regardless of how much you purchase. Service was great. Unfortunately, all of the other factors mean I will not be giving them a third chance. read more

Chicken empanadas are sooo yummy. My coworker always brings us treats, both savory and sweet from this little bakery. We have had empanadas, burritos (machaca, chorizo and breakfast) as well as little cakes and "normal" Mexican pastries. I want to discover more of what they have to offer. I bought one and was so excited to try it, I got home and cut myself a slice. It smelled funky and sour and the worst part was that it taste spoiled too. Well what a find. I got off the 232 Bus to LB after spending an eternity riding it to check out this Bakery I spotted from the window. I found the girl behind the counter most helpful as she made the Cuban Sandwich sound delicious and after watching her put it together and wandering past all those pastries I was ready to well and truly devour it. I didn't have enough room for dessert though from the look of it you wouldn't be disappointed with any choice you made. It's a nice store but their bread is not very good. It doesn't cut it. Their cafe de olla is way too sweet although manageable, it tastes burnt and at 4 dollars for a large. Their prices are on the higher side of what a Mexican bakery charges. Four dollars for a bolillo with cream cheese and jalapeños? Pff. I didn't try their food but if their sweet bread is an indication of their food then I will pass. They need to go swing around other bakeries and see what they are missing. I'm not coming back. Money and carb limits are precious and it's not worth either. They fall short even on plain ole mexican sweet bread. read more

Live this place, I live down the street so it's very convenient. First off customer service is excellent, I've never had a problem here. Aside from sweet bread there are a variety of Mexican dishes to chose from, vegetable juice, tortas, cakes, desserts, bolillo it's all here. There are tables for eating too. read more

Had they're breakfast burrito, it was good. I have had better breakfast burritos, however their green sauce they give you along added much more flavor. They only give you one little container, so ask for more. I will come back, seeing that they offer much more breakfast options as well as lunch. Their bread is delicious! Especially their choco-flan which is a slice made up of half-chocolate cake and half-flan. I also loooove their hot chocolate since its not your hot cocoa out of a packet, the taste is so good, it must have some spices in there...overall I like that the bakery is super clean and their bread is baked daily.
