I've been to a lot of panaderias, and this place was just okay for me. The versatility is nice, however nothing really stood out. I did enjoy the galletas de canela, but I do enjoy them from anywhere to be honest. The piloncillo galleta was just alright, nothing too exciting. The price point is also higher than most. I also did try the savory chorizo and cheddar biscuit which was nice, but had to heat it up at home. The staff really didn't interact or suggest anything. The space itself is really nice and aesthetically pleasing. I probably wouldn't come back, but did enjoy visiting.

If you are looking for a bakery with fresh high quality pan dulce, this is your place. The bakery is nicely lit, very clean, and the staff is welcoming. The cafe de latte and chocolate abuelita latte were the best choices my friend and I could've gotten. They were the right amount of sweet. We also had so many yummy bread options to pick from, but we grabbed the guayaba pan and it was delicious! There is no seating inside, but outside there are only about 3 Small tables to accommodate 1-3 people. Plan accordingly for seating or just grab to go!

So good that I visited twice in the same week! This spot is self-serve like all other panderias, and I love that they have a photo and description of most of their pan at the entrance. To my surprise there were also some savory options, which I'll have to try on my next visit. Their bread was so good but it seems like a popular item is their chocolate chip cookie. My second visit was two hours before they closed and I snagged the last one. It's buttery, crispy on the edges, with a soft middle, and topped with sea salt. Perfect balance of salty and sweet. Customers were coming in just for the cookie, so if you visit, make sure to add it to your tray. I tried the abuelita latte and it was so good! My husband had the cafe de olla. I had a taste of it and I didn't like it. It had too much cinnamon. The staff is very friendly and I love the seating area right outside the panaderia. There's a really cool mural right outside and it has a relaxing vibe. A must try if you're in the area.

This place has been on my list for awhile and it did not disappoint! We went on a Sunday around 11am. They still had a lot of options but it looked like they were baking more goods. The pan we thought was not the best: puerquito, cubileta de queso (super dry). The starts of the show: *the matcha concha was so good! The pan was so soft and pillowy- even after saying it for a day. *galletas de canela were so good! *chocolate chip cookies were soooo good too. Chewy and flavorful All of that came out to $29 (with tip) which is a lot. I would come back to just get one or two, cause $30 for pan is a lot. Overall the pan was good. Some hits and some misses. We would come back to try their coffee.

The BEST chocolate chip cookies EVER

The best hidden gem I have ever discovered. All the pastries looked delicious but I just come for the chocolate chip cookies. The BEST chocolate chip cookies EVER

Super cute bakery shop I love all the decor and how they have the bread inside the cabinets looking clean. I tried the matcha concha you can't really taste the matcha but decent concha. I had the matcha latte and it was just ok nothing special maybe I should try their coffee. But bonus points for how cute this place is.

I recommend this spot! They have the fluffiest conchas ever. Maybe the best conchas I've ever had in my whole life!!

    1. The pastries were delicious! The coffee was well-crafted! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes! The interior is nicely arranged! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! My coffee was ready after 5 mins! 4. There are only outdoor seatings! There are few tables! 5. There are only metered parking and paid parking garages! Note: I did not see a restroom available for customers! Photo: Horchata Latte, Rollo De Mora, and Puerquito

Pan y Cafe is around the corner from Cafe Cultura, its sister establishment. When I stumbled upon Pan y Cafe I had no idea they were related. I was about to go to the coffee shop across the street and was attracted to PyC by their colorful outdoor mural. I walked in and there was a short line at the register. I could smell the tantalizing aroma of fresh baked pan dulce. I was immediately greeting by a very nice lady behind the counter. After I grabbed my pan dulce from the beautiful spotlight display cabinets (made me feel like I was shopping at a luxury boutique), the same lady helped me take my coffee order. I got a matcha concha, chocolate concha, iced Cafe de Olla and Abuelita Latte with oat milk. Both my friend and I loved our concha's and coffee. Personally, I had the Abuelita Latte and it definitely tasted like the famous Mexican hot chocolate. The reason for my 4 stars is because my Abuelita Latte needed some more caffeine. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but I needed the extra boost for my workday.

Small to go Bakery in Downtown Santa Ana. Love the aesthetic of the place. You come in and grab your pastries on the tray and bring it to the front. I love savory pastries so I got the Al Pastor Croissant, the Cheddar Chorizo Biscuit, and the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Bolillo. All of them were delicious! I also got the Horchata Latte which was also delicious. Love how open the bakery is. When you walk in you can see them prep all the pastries right there. Definitely try this if you're in the area! PS. For parking there is a garage across the street but it is paid parking.

I arrived by noon so most of their bakery items were sold out. I tried their biscuit, which was moist, lightly buttered and fluffy. Was not dry at all and tasted good alone. Complimentary conchas were provided. You can see the bakers hand roll all their goods right in front of you. The cold brew cafe olle, was simple. It tasted like coffee and chocolate syrup.

Such a cute place, friendly employees and the aestheticssss! However, I think the drink and bread is decent, not something I would go out of my way for. A little bit on the pricier end.

Already loved Cafe Cultura, so I was happy they opened a bakery and coffee shop just next door! Much shorter wait times for coffee annnnd the baked goods are bomb. I got the cafe de olla (pictured) and their jalapeño cream cheese bolillo (not pictured bc couldn't wait). Cafe de olla was a great coffee flavor and flakey, the bolillo was super soft and good. 10/10 will be going back and getting the bolillo again.

The photos caught our eye, but they don't even do justice to the actual experience. The modest facade completely hides the gem buried within; the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a beautiful, vibrant atmosphere. Despite arriving just before 7:00 PM on a busy Saturday night, we were seated incredibly fast. We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Karla (with a 'K'). Her enthusiasm, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the menu were top-notch--truly a model for how the entire service industry should operate. As for the food? Out of this world. From the presentation to the flavor, the attention to detail is flawless. It is completely clear that Rosa Madera was created by someone with immense vision and heart, and they've managed to find a staff that shares that exact same passion. We are so hooked that we will absolutely be making the trip back from San Diego with the sole purpose of eating here again. In the meantime, my friends and family are going to get sick of me over the next few days, because I refuse to shut up about this place!

Thanks to Restaurant Week, we stumbled upon this gem, and we are so grateful. The hospitality alone would earn five stars. But then came the food. The tacos? Absolutely exceptional. The steak was tender and flavorful in a way that reminded me of eating throughout Mexico, you could actually taste the meat. A light, gentle pickle of vegetables on top, minimal cheese, nothing heavy or greasy. These are not the American-style tacos drowning in a pound of melted cheese. These are the real thing. The beans were lovely, the rice was solid, and my passion fruit winearita drink was genuinely a treat. Restaurant Week gave us the perfect low-pressure reason to try somewhere new, and we walked out with a new favorite. We'll be back for lunch. We'll be back for dinner. And yes, Taco Tuesday, we'll absolutely be back for that.

To make matters worse, one of our meals was completely forgotten. The service was extremely slow throughout the entire visit. Every time we needed something, whether it was a refill, an update, or assistance, the wait felt excessive. The restaurant may have potential because the food itself was flavorful, but it seemed like they were either understaffed or unprepared for the number of customers they had. Another disappointment was the drink selection. We were told they don't have a liquor license, so hard alcohol isn't available. Their sodas were canned, and when we asked for juice for the kids, they told us they were completely out. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is on the smaller side and felt more like a converted house than a traditional restaurant, complete with a fireplace and television in the dining area. The food had good flavor, which is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. Unfortunately, the long wait times, missing meal, lack of drink options, and poor service made the overall experience disappointing.
