We were just walking around the area when we stumbled upon this bakery. I'm so glad we stopped! We tried a couple breads and they were all so good. I was honestly expecting mid, dry, just enough to fulfill the craving of a sweet bread but BOY WAS I WRONG! Every single piece we tried was flavorful, soft on the inside, just amazing! 10/10 need to go back. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop was clean and spacious. Loved it.

Such a cute place, friendly employees and the aestheticssss! However, I think the drink and bread is decent, not something I would go out of my way for. A little bit on the pricier end.

I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a chocolate concha, both were delicious! The concha was soft and my coffee wasn't overly sweet, you can taste the quality and freshness. Service was fast and friendly and the decor inside is beautiful. This will be my new go to spot when I'm in the area, it was lovely

Small to go Bakery in Downtown Santa Ana. Love the aesthetic of the place. You come in and grab your pastries on the tray and bring it to the front. I love savory pastries so I got the Al Pastor Croissant, the Cheddar Chorizo Biscuit, and the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Bolillo. All of them were delicious! I also got the Horchata Latte which was also delicious. Love how open the bakery is. When you walk in you can see them prep all the pastries right there. Definitely try this if you're in the area! PS. For parking there is a garage across the street but it is paid parking.

Well I came and I tried . The croissant was not what I was hoping for , it was not fluffy and barely had any chocolate. The horchata coffee was small and made to where I could barely taste any horchata in it and the cafe de olla was from the bottom of the olla and maybe a day old because it was sour and was just not very good . I won't come back and can I honestly say I simply regret coming in here . So long average Pan y Cafe .

    Love the storefront!

Pan y Cafe is around the corner from Cafe Cultura, its sister establishment. When I stumbled upon Pan y Cafe I had no idea they were related. I was about to go to the coffee shop across the street and was attracted to PyC by their colorful outdoor mural. I walked in and there was a short line at the register. I could smell the tantalizing aroma of fresh baked pan dulce. I was immediately greeting by a very nice lady behind the counter. After I grabbed my pan dulce from the beautiful spotlight display cabinets (made me feel like I was shopping at a luxury boutique), the same lady helped me take my coffee order. I got a matcha concha, chocolate concha, iced Cafe de Olla and Abuelita Latte with oat milk. Both my friend and I loved our concha's and coffee. Personally, I had the Abuelita Latte and it definitely tasted like the famous Mexican hot chocolate. The reason for my 4 stars is because my Abuelita Latte needed some more caffeine. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but I needed the extra boost for my workday.

Fresh and unique pan dulces. The store is inviting, being clean and bright and playing upbeat Latin music. The matcha concha is unique with a very mild matcha flavor. The cafe de olla pastry is flaky and flavorful. Next time, I look forward to ordering a drink!

I decided to try this place out since I was nearby and they open at 7:00 a.m. They have a wide variety of pan available. They also offer coffee which I have not tried. I would definitely come back. They have seating available outside. The people are helpful.

Already loved Cafe Cultura, so I was happy they opened a bakery and coffee shop just next door! Much shorter wait times for coffee annnnd the baked goods are bomb. I got the cafe de olla (pictured) and their jalapeño cream cheese bolillo (not pictured bc couldn't wait). Cafe de olla was a great coffee flavor and flakey, the bolillo was super soft and good. 10/10 will be going back and getting the bolillo again.

I've been here a few times and I love that it's so close to my work. They have a good selection of pastries savory and sweet and a yummy vanilla sweet cream -cafe de olla cold brew. Their piloncillo chocolate chip cookies and conchas are amazing and I also bought some teleras for tortas (for dinner). The gals were very nice and helpful and also let me try the cold brew. Overall would come again the ordering area can be very small but it's a nice little hidden panaderia.

Stumbled upon this cute panderia today and I was so thrilled!! Since visiting Mexico City few years ago I have not found Mexican bread and pastries as good as what I had in CDMX and every time I went there I could not bring back my cravings enough! However, that ends today! Pan y Cafe is by Cafe Cultura and it is so beautifully designed! The mural outside is beautiful and once you walk inside, you will feel like you just entered a nice boutique shop for..purse? Shoes? No, for pan!!! The concha here is so soft, fluffy, and fresh, just like how I remember tasting in CDMX at places like Panderia Rosetta. I got a bunch of different pan to try, and all of them are so fresh, soft, and fluffy! They also offer cafe and there is currently promo going on if you come after 4pm, there's cafe de olla promo, and 5-8pm is the concha promo. Highly recommend!!!

Pan Y Café Bakery is an absolute treasure! We recently partnered with them for our "Hearts and Pastries" event at Hare High School, and they truly blew us away. Walking into the bakery feels like stepping back in time; it is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The café de olla was a massive hit with everyone, and the conchas were perfectly delicious. I'm already telling all my neighbors about this cozy spot. I'll definitely be using them as vendors for future school and neighborhood events, and it's officially my new go-to weekend treat for my kids!

Pan y Café brings that warm, neighborhood bakery comfort with a modern, cozy vibe. Fresh pastries come out tasting like they were made with real care soft, buttery, and perfect with their smooth, well balanced coffee. It's the kind of spot where you can slow down for a minute, enjoy something sweet, and feel taken care of by the friendly staff. A simple, feel good stop that always hits right. Everything is made with love and the selection of cafes are amazing

The location of…read morethis well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

Santa Ana downtown is all metered street parking so be prepared to pay for parking. The stand is located right in front of the market so it isn't too hard to find. It's in the market so there's open seating and can get quite loud if there's a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was greeted very poorly when I got here. No one was available to help and periodically she would yell over to see if I was ready to order in a very bad tone. When I asked about the cheesecake selection, she said "you have to wait 30 min." I then asked what flavor it is and she said "pandan pineapple" in an annoyed tone. I asked if there were any other flavors and she said "no because I still need to decorate. You should really come later at night." I'm used to bakeries selling out later in the day but I guess it's opposite here. As if it couldn't get worse, I asked her if there are any coffees she recommended, and she said "viet coffee." I then said viet coffee is usually too strong for me and asked if there were any other recommendations and she doubled down and used a horrible tone to say "I already said I recommend the viet coffee." Therefore I opted to just not order coffee at this time. I ended up still ordering 2 cookies: miso toffee which was too firm and the ube coconut which actually was well balanced and had a nice coconut filling. I really hope they improve their customer service.

It's not "table service" - they don't come back and check you or help with water or drinks, etc. Whatever you want you must return to the counter. But service at the counter is very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is an outdoor cafe....noisy neighbors, wind when it blows, dogs, all the regular stuff - good seating and umbrellas with some areas naturally shaded...lots of tables relative to the size of the shop. Very friendly staff. Why do my reviews get over 1,000 views every time we visit a new place? We don't know but it seems consistent.
