This name really is unusual for a place that sells the best empanadas! I'm not sure if they are a Colombian/ Cuban/Peruvian place? They also sell cakes and other beautiful pastries- and coffee.. The empanadas are made with a masa base as the wrap.. not a dough like a Puerto Rican/ Spanish empanada... and the meat is shredded with potato... not sure if they have other flavors such as chicken or shrimp.. I did see blood pudding and other items in the display case.. but coursing ask what they were... I have not tried anything else. I go and get 50/60 empanadas each time I order.. and share them with my sister- we love them! My brother in law will freeze some and take them out and have a couple at a time.. You can re-heat in air fryer.. and they come out just like you went there are picked them up! The only thing is language barrier.. my friend who usually orders them for me was not available and I don't speak the language.. the lady hung up on me twice when I called to place the order. I called back and spoke I guess to the owner or baker? And he took my order. So I am learning how to order them the next time I call.. Every-time I have e picked up my order.. it is always packed with people having a coffee and eating. It's very small but it's nice to see that it's busy. They also have this homemade hot sauce that you only need a little bit on the empanada - it's spicy but good! The empanadas don't need any sauce they are that good! This is my go to place for the best beef or chicken Colombian Empanadas that I have ever had for a $1.25 each. The counter staff are fast and efficient. You are in and out with warm take out empanadas in minutes, make sure you ask for the hot sauce which is included. I have tried some of their other baked goods but nothing to brag about, hands down if you come here, you must try the Empanadas with the hot sauce. read more

This is my favorite place in Dover for empanadas! Apparently other people feel the same way as the place is always hopping when I visit. Everyone is friendly and the place looks clean. I went here on the urging of a friend. I now know that he has no clue of what empanadas are supposed to be like. First off, on-street parking will be a challenge -- at least there are no meters to feed. Second, there is virtually no seating. I went at lunch-time, on a nice day, so YMMV. Third, prices are reasonable. $1.25 per, vs. $1. per, in Bergen County / Hudson County. But these empanadas are nothing like what I'm used to in Bergen/Hudson. The wrap/crust is greasy yet dry. I got the beef, and only ate them because I was there & hungry. Wrong cuts, wrong preparation, wrong sauce. I hope I don't regret my decision later. To be fair, this may be a South American style. If your preference is for the Cuban style of empanadas, you will be hugely disappointed. read more

Only have gone once so far, but really impressed! A friend recommended this spot as my partner and I were craving empanadas and didn't want to drive out to Passaic as we usually do. Glad we took the tip! Prices were great and it seemed like we walked away with a bounty of food for twenty bucks. Also got a few pastries as well which were fresh, sweet, and fluffy! A Columbian Bakery with the most delicious empanadas and Columbian pastries. We walked in and we were the only non-Spanish speaking people in the place with a line to the door, so right off the bat we knew it was going to be good! The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, we pointed to other delicious looking items, she described them in her broken English, which is waaaay better than our broken Spanish with a smile on her face. Their prices are also extremely reasonable. Glad we found this great local business, we will be back. read more

Amazing Empanada's and one of the best salsa's/hot sauces out there. They compliment each other beautifully. We go out of our way to try their empanada's every few weeks and it is certainly worth the drive. The employees don't speak great English, but with food this good, who cares. read more
