    Pepperoni Pizza Empanada
    Dan M.

They had a number of different empanadas to choose from. They ranged from traditional to unique to dessert type ones. It took some time for 2 empanadas to be ready, but nothing terrible. I ordered the spicy beef and pepperoni pizza empanada ($5 each). Both were appropriate in size and had plenty of filling. The spicy beef did have a kick to it. The spicy sauce that I received went well with spicy beef empanada. The aspect that stood out in the pepperoni one was the parmesan cheese that was incorporated. It was a nice touch with the rest of the empanada. Will I go back? I would, yes.

UPDATE: After the restaurant replied to my review being so kind and offering for us to try them again I was excited and eager to do just that. I mean they have great reviews and my family really wanted to like them and finally have a go-to empanada place. Everone has an off day, right? UNFORTUNATELY, a few days after their public response to me here on Yelp, I received a Facebook message from the owner of Zoelilly at 2am. He had actually gone out of his way to locate me on Facebook and even found where I live. Here is his message attached so you can see I did not edit it. You can also read here below: "I'm the owner of Zoelily Empanadas and to find out that your from Rockaway really shocked me. I'm a beloved person and business in this town. And though I am not perfect and mistakes can happen, but your descriptions of oozing grease out of the Empanadas doesn't even make sense, so much so you would need a towel. And one was inedible. But you don't call the establishment to let them know. You quickly go bash them in reviews in not one but two sites, you clearly see our amazing reviews on multiple sites. And you compare a food truck to a restaurant on why we don't carry more Empanadas. 8 savory and 5 dessert when you came. Plus other food items. We don't have the same storage space available. I'm disappointed and during Covid, it truly feels like you have ulterior motives behind these posts." -Raphael Vargas Let me start by saying that this was a HUGE violation of privacy. Luckily my account is set to Private. To Rafael, I patronized your establishment. We weren't satisfied and clearly put a lot of thought and detail into the review. I would have loved to have loved it. But we didn't. Secondly, saying my review "didn't make sense" allude to me being dishonest or "having an ulterior motive" for the review is a little nuts on your part. I leave reviews all the time and they are usually great. I find Yelp reviews helpful so I do my part for others. Based 100% on your choice to look me up, which I find completely inappropriate, we will NOT be coming back. I can't begin to tell you how uncomfortable this makes me and my family, many of which, are local. If you are so loved in the area than don't worry yourself to hunt down the few reviews that aren't amazing. I truly hope you never do this again. The next person you track down might do a lot more than just stop patronizing your business. This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional and you should be embarrassed. It can't just be about food. It should also be about integrity. Good luck to you.

Korokke with hot sauce. Fist sized for just $5

Empanada Lady is my go-to for those now, so I tried something different here - korokkes, Japanese panko-breaded balls. I chose sweet chili chicken. Turns out you just get one korokke, but it's giant-sized. It had a nice flavor to it, and the hot sauce has plenty of heat as a complement. I can't rate them on the empanadas but they looked quite large and so maybe they're actually competitive with the greatness of the Lady. I see the other two reviewers (so far) are fans, so maybe next time.

    Chicken and cheese empanada

Passed by this truck during the week and told myself I'd make a stop during the weekend. When i realized it was empanadas . It's becoming a top 5 fav food. Not all are made equal. I was aiming to support a local business during these stay at home everything is closed times. I'm not a grocery shopper. Anyhow, the empanadas are sizeable and stuffed. Not like a bag of chips stuffed with air. More like a GOOD empanada stuffed with ingredients. I'll stop whether I'm hungry or not for one of these.

The portions were really big, leaving plenty of leftovers. We ordered the chicken sandwich, penne vodka with chicken, pechuga a la Columbiana, pechuga empanizada, fried plantains, and yellow rice. All of the dishes felt subpar in flavor. While nothing was bad, it all felt very average. I enjoyed the mushroom sauce with the chicken, but nothing stood out in the flavor. The pechuga empanizada felt a tad over cooked as well. We also ordered the tres leches which followed a similar theme of not having much flavor. Id likely give this place another shot to see if the experience dining in is better.

I ordered a pork loin with rice and soup: the soup was fairly good, the pork had been pounded thin and then fried until it had absolutely no flavor, the rice had utterly no taste, and a couple of tostones had the toughness of cardboard and tasted awful. At least two pieces of maduros weren't completely dry, although they weren't very good. Food has to be handled with care and passion to be any good, and my food clearly was handled with indifference, at best. Half of one star is for the waitress who tried, and the other half a star is for the immense television on the back wall showing a soccer game.

The Denville market is a bit smaller than the Morristown one, but they still have great vendors a number of which are not over at Morristown. We had 2 college boys cook are food they were overwhelmed. My daughter's graduation party was ruined. No body will ever use RONNIE'S AGAIN!!! I wanted to bring to your attention some of the issues that occurred at my daughter's graduation party on Saturday 6/27. I called on Saturday at 12:15 asking where the truck was with the food. I was not aware that the cooks don't show up at the shop until 12 to pick up the equipment and then proceed to the address. The servers that I hired to help with the party were here at 12. They helped get the chips on the tables as my guests were arriving at 1. As my guests started to arrive one by one, the food still was not here. At 1:15 the truck finally showed up, as more of my guests were arriving. My guests had to wait for the truck to back onto the driveway. Then the 2 boys had to unload the equipment and set up everything. They only had one tent, which they needed to tape because the water was starting to drip in from the pouring rain. We did provide tape and help patch up the tent. We were lucky to have our own tents, so the food could be put out without having rain pouring on top of it. It was now 2 o'clock, no set up and no food yet. I asked the boys what they needed help with and they said they were so sorry as they needed to get set up. I then helped them shuck the corn as one boy finished getting the grill ready and explained how long it would take to get everything out. I said to please get out hamburgers and hot dogs, as now my guests were out of appetizers. One of the boys was saying they should have been here way before 2:00 to set up. The servers that I had here to help, clean up, and restock drinks, were now also helping the boys set up, as was I. My husband restocked the drinks and also served my guests. I had the 2 servers stop helping the boys and cut the watermelon, so my guests had something to eat. I had some of my family members also come over to see what the hold up was and why was I helping with the corn. I then had the servers get all the salads out so my guests could continue eating. The food came out, all separately. Sausage and peppers first, then the hot dogs and hamburgers. I had to ask for plates and utensils for my guests along with cups. I did also have to provide some of my own cups as we continued to wait. Condiments didn't come out until the chicken came out by which point the hamburgers were already eaten. Then half an hour later, the beans, followed by the Mac and cheese. I had to keep going to all the tables letting them know what food would be coming out next. I helped cleaned up the tables as the servers were still helping the boys get stuff out of the truck. When the servers asked about the coffee, I said it should be on the truck. They started to prepare the coffee so that would be on time. The boys were done by 4:30, cleaned up and were in the truck by 5:30. Again they kept apologizing. I think there should have been at least 3 workers total to help prepare. It should also have been communicated how long set up time would take and how long for the food and condiments to be served. I have tons of corn left over because that was last to be served and people had already started to leave. I did pay for an extra hour, which that did not happen either. I am very disappointed with the lack of communication and the service that was provided.
