    The quiche was delicious! ... and the sourdough was also very good. It was tough on the outside but so soft from the inside.

    Breadsmith made its way to Brownsville. From what I read, this is a national chain and the menu…read morevaries by location. For example, south Texas locations serve pan dulce like conchas. My mom was eager to visit this artisanal bakery and there was a wide selection of breads to choose from. There were also pastries such as biscotti, cookies, and scones. Unlike a panaderia, the staff grabs the things you want, offers to slice them, and bags up your orders. Overall, very easy ordering system. Very clean inside, too. The breads themselves are nice. We used the sourdough for sandwiches and avocado toast and they yielded delicious results. We also snacked on slices of Challah. I was lukewarm on the chocolate chip cookie, and I did not like their croissant. It didn't have that nice, glossy, crispy outer shell, and also felt a little tough to bite through, so that's where the point deduction came in. Of course, with climbing costs of food these days, I wouldn't come here for all my bready needs, but an occasional loaf here and there will serve as a nice treat for a few days.

Maybe a few seconds in the micro would do the trick? Nope! It was still tough! I expected a lot more from a $5-ish roll. I will stick to their other breads which are super tasty.
