DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE!! Hello, so I am a pet sitter and I have watched over Vannah Rose's fur babies before. She took her three cats here and they were treated beyond terribly. When the issue was brought to the company, Vannah Rose was told that her cats where "feral" and should not have been taken to the groomer. Again, as someone who has personally looked after these babies I can tell you that they are not! If a company who claims to groom cats doesn't know the difference between a feral cat and a scared cat then they should never touch cats. I see most of the reviews are for dogs but as for cats, NEVER TRUST PAMPERED PAWS!!! Plus, their temperament was discussed prior! I will NEVER take any of my cats here! So, this is just an update on Pampered Paws Pet Spa. My yorkie is getting very elderly and I am never sure how many more grooming's he may have. He has dementia, he is blind, and also a severe diabetic. I can honestly say that I can drop him off and leave him without worrying about how he will be treated. You know people without souls can be so brutal to the elderly, people and dogs. He always looks adorable and they clean him up well. I never have a complaint about the wash and blow-out as my husband says. You know how some places you wonder WTH they did to your dog? Yeah, not at Pampered Paws Pet Spa. We have used several groomers over the years and Pampered Paws ranks with the best of them. Krysten seems to love her clients (dogs) and handles each one carefully. She is thorough in finding out how you want your pup cut, then is careful to see that it's what they get. I love that Krysten grooms my dog exactly as I ask for. Many groomers will just shave a double coat dog by default, because it's easier, but Krysten has always been great at taking care of his coat without needing to shave him back. Extremely quick too, which I think is a reflection of the good structure around scheduling actual appointment times so the dogs are not sitting around for hours. Highly recommended! read more

It's been very difficult finding somewhere that gives as much grooming attention to cats as they do to dogs. Krysten was incredibly responsive via email and took great care of my girl. First off, the place is bright and clean and looks like a fun, safe place for pets. I brought my kitty in for an early morning appointment because she had a mat under one of her arms and I was hoping they could shave it out. When I came back, she was beautiful and clean, and the mat was trimmed down. I can't get over how soft and fluffy she is! However, part of it seemed to be ingrown and needed to be looked at by a vet. Krysten did an amazing job cleaning, calming, and trimming her anyway and even gave me a discount for the trouble with the mat (in fact, they tried to get in touch with me to let me know as soon as they realized the issue, but I wasn't looking at my phone). I really appreciate her professionalism and knowing when something was beyond her scope to treat and let me know what my next step should be. This was the first time I've taken my cat to be professionally groomed and I don't think I'll ever take her anywhere else. read more

Krysten was super nice and accommodating to our new 8 week old puppy. We were coming out of town to pick up our puppy and we wanted to clean her before taking her hone. I have two dogs, one an English bulldog and the other a frenchie. The frenchie is a pup with lots of meds for allergies and the English is older but I hadn't boarded her in years due to her getting the kennel cough previously when boarded. To say I was freaked out before boarding them is an understatement!! Krysten was amazing! She has a way with animals and my girls loved her right away. The facility is clean. Pampered Paws took very good care of Corbin, our elderly little Jack Russell Terrier for a few days. The facility is clean and offers grooming services along with boarding services. Although they don't offer a doggie daycare environment, the dogs do get lots of personalized attention and playtime with people. Corbin wasn't nervous upon arrival, and he wasn't anxious to leave, which is a good thing. They even gave him a bath and clipped his nails as a bonus! read more

Krysten and Robert are amazing. I adopted 2 cats who had been rescued from being abandoned. My long haired cats was covered in skin tight mats and needed to be tunneled. They were fantastic! I helped calm him, but they did all the work well. I brought the second cat in today for a full bath and nail trim, they also cleaned the fur between his pads. They are so gentle and patient. It was a little confusing to find just because there's a few other grooming businesses within the same block but once you find it the inside is very nice and clean. You show these grommers a picture of how you want your dog groomed, they take a picture of it then go completely against your wishes and they shave there hair iff to make it easy on them. Would never recommend them to anyone. They never took the hair out of my dogs ears which comes with the gromming. I called the next day and left a message of my concern. Wanted to know when I could bring him back to finish cleaning his ears. They never responded. read more

My dogs love this place! The owner is super sweet and loves her customers. She is meticulous with the grooming and customizes it to the individual dog's needs. Pampered Paws is different than the typical groomers because it is a spa; the dogs truly get pampered. I have taken my dogs to other places that seem chaotic and overly busy, but at this place the appointments are staggered, so each dog receives lots of attention and feels relaxed. My dogs get so excited when we pull up in the parking lot. I made them reoccurring monthly appointments because Pampered Paws is newer, and I know that this place is going to explode with business once the word starts spreading. My husband and i moved to Florida two years ago and never had to board our dogs because we would watch our friends dog (and she would watch out two dogs) for our dogs entire lives; I almost didn't even want to move because I didn't want to lose this amazing arrangement....After moving to Florida, the first 2 kennels we left them at in Brevard were a miserable failure. Then we discovered Kristen and Pampered Paws! This was a life changer for us!!! OMG !!! 5 stars for Pampered Paws!!! Our two havanese dogs are very spoiled and extremely set in their ways and do not like being away from home. My older dog is almost16 and has a complicated health history; she now wears a brace on her front legs and walks with great difficulty. Of course, she is sensitive to almost all food, amongst other things!! So, at this point i would even understand if a kennel wouldn't want the extra trouble she requires. Not Kristen at Pampered Paws!! She loves my dogs....i can tell that they love her too and they know she will take great care of them, she is like their 'mom!' We just dropped them off for 4 days with Kristen and they were wagging their tails when we left them there! They stay in a very oversized kennel together and love watching the incoming dogs get groomed. And they always get a groom and bath before we pick them up! She doesn't have room to board many dogs, as grooming is her main business, so any dog who is afraid of alot of barking dogs would feel safe boarding here (and dog parents-like me- don't feel like they've just dropped their dogs in doggie prison while they vacation!) read more

They are older with curling nails and she always takes the time to be careful, because they are squirmy little worms when it comes to pedicures. She's flexible with scheduling and always a pleasure. I took my maltese to Kristin twice before, and while she does OK work, and I ALWAYS tip, this was the conversation this morning at 8:35 in an otherwise empty dog salon: Krysten: "You never confirmed the appointment, so I don't have you in the book." me:"I didn't? I'm sorry I thought I had." pause me: "Could you fit her in today?" Krysten: "Well, maybe, but it will take more time. She won't be done as quickly." me: "That's alright." Krysten: "I normally would have kept it in the calendar, but I checked a few days ago, and you still hadn't confirmed. There was someone else that wanted the time" (there is no other dog in the salon) "and I am backed up so I had to take it out." me: (at this point annoyed at getting a lecture rather than a straight answer) "Can you take her today or not? I understand!" Krysten: "Well, in that case, no." Apparently she has such a thriving business that she can be condescending to her clients. Also, her location is very hard to get to on Wickham. Make sure you have a navigator and arrive from the south. In my opinion, however, it is not worth it. read more

My pup loves everything.. except grooming. She had a terrible grooming experience at a different groomer a few months ago. She went from tolerating home grooming to absolutely hating it, so I wasn't able to keep up with it myself. This led to some wicked fur mats on her backside. We just moved to the area and I reached out to a few groomers on Yelp. Krysten responded very quickly and listened to my concerns and warnings that Navi wasn't going to be calm. Have been in the Melbourne area for 2 years and visited 3 other grooming places. Was not happy with any of them and then Pampered Paws Pet Spa was recommended to me. Best thing that ever happened to me and my little Yorkie Benson! Love that grooming starts at time of appointment! Krysten, the veteran (U.S.) groomer/owner/pet spa coordinator and care minder of the whole event, along with a sometimes helper, Robert, who has a certificate framed on the wall next to Krysten's official certificate in something dog related (sorry, I can't recall, he isn't a groomer but he is licensed to wash dogs, maybe begin brushing out (??), and often helps to sterilize down the area where the new boarders will go. We only boarded our dogs once for 8 nights when we made our annual trip to a state requiring an in home sitter or a boarder for the animals. The experience with Krysten (and whenever he is there, Robert, as well) is 100++. Krysten intuitively is able to read what the dogs think and responds well to what their needs are. She doesn't have a set, rigid way of doing things, other than giving a really excellent grooming and boarding experience. An example would be is that she sensed correctly that our dogs like things done in order. I left her notes to always put the food bowls in the same place for each of the 3 (then 5) dogs (2 of whom passed away this year from the dreaded heart murmurs). She noticed right away that one liked to go potty on the grass moreso than in her tented area where she has some gravel I believe set down so that it isn't directly under her tented area if they need/want some fresh air a little longer than just a potty break. She instinctively also knew to take them out in the order that she put down their food bowls. She is initially slightly reserved in manner, but very outgoing once you get to know her, but makes sure to find out exactly how you want your dog groomed. And you seldom have to keep your area in the area that the boarders use mostly. The last time we were in for our routine 5 week grooming with her she put them on the "top shelf" of that area saying that she and Robert had just bleached down the entire floor the night before and was trying to keep it as clean as possible. When we brought our dogs into her, the first time they had ever in their lifetimes been boarded, I felt confident leaving them with Krysten because they know her and like her. And one dog of ours can be a little problematic but when we were leaving she said he had made a breakthrough with her, that he was now friendly all the time with her. That was a major thing to me because I would have worried, and I don't think I could have boarded with a stranger. Also her spa area where she either holds her pets from same family like us to be groomed or boarded has full time camera coverage on it. Her grooming area or front desk (??--don't recall because it has been a while since we so carefully checked her out for boarding before leaving our fur babies with her). She can see them almost all day because her cameras feed into that desk or grooming area. Also with 5 of our dogs and 2 large dogs that came in on the same day she told us when picked up our dogs after our return that she limited her grooming appts to 4 a day. This ensured plenty of attention by her with them. I suggested if she could the best way to really become friends with them would be to lie on the floor in their crated area (comfortably holds 4-5 small crates) only we kept the sometimes trouble-maker at night by himself in his crate for his familiarity/company and then put them in with the rest of the pack during the day while she had her cameras on. She has put a lot of thought, consideration in making her pet spa the perfect place and puts 100++ of her efforts into making them calm and happy. She did do as I suggested and that bonded our dogs even more so with her, which has helped her ever since because they are groomed every 5 weeks to the dot because of their long fur which knots unless groomed on this schedule. If you want a meticulous, informed, person who adjusts to your specific dog needs -- including giving medication, different food additive at evening meal--chicken breasts, organic grilled by my husband on grill with no sauce and of course with no skin so we can put the breasts in chunks into the large Cuisinart to get the exact rounded tsp full of chicken on top of their evening kibble but not in the morning. Being such creatures of habit, they know this is the drill and are fine with it. She gave the right medications some 2X/day, 1 4 pills 3X/day and I know she gave them all correctly or they probably would have been dead had she not. She was familiar with the heart meds because one of her dogs was on the same meds -1 pill. You can relax with Krysten and Robert taking care of them, or just Krysten. She is a stickler for her cleanliness but is also a stickler to give you the look you want to see on your dog. Kudos to Pampered Paws Pet Spa.
